Hope everyones not pissed off with the snow yet!
pretty thick here but ok once you get to the main roads- Getting there is the problem though!

Isaidno- Hope Poppy recovers from Chicken pox soon.

Bebe- Know what you mean about the speech. They pick things up so quickly dont they. Abigail has really picked up putting words together lately. It sounds so grown up... Hello Mummy/daddy, Nice Banana, Up please, drink please.

Had my 21 week scan today Baby is all good and correct.Long legs like its big sister. Abigail loved seeing the baby and kept saying "hello baby".
Not sure if it meant anything or not but both DH and I picked up on the sonographer saying "she" once. Not sure if that meant anything as she normally just said Baby.- Guess we will see in May!

Meant to be getting our new Sofa tomorrow.. just hoping they can get to us!

Happy new year all!

Disney, hope Sam's still coming along well. I've been thinking about him.

Had a lovely Christmas with my parents - O had a good time, though she was still getting over a nasty cold. Then we went up to my ILs for New Year. Wasn't too pleased with the drive up (DH's idea, but he can't drive so I have to do it ) but it was nice not to have to cook or anything like that. Drive down was fairly unpleasant but we got back in one piece. Am totally fed-up with the snow, but I don't like it at the best of times. Hate hate hate driving in it, even though I have loads of experience.

Have had a bit of a nightmare the last few days - central heating packed up, as these things always do at the worst possible time. Took the plumber 3 visits to sort it out, but he's fixed it today so he is currently my favourite person in the whole world

Isaidno, hopw Poppy's better - O had it at 11 months and was pretty miserable, though not as bad as 3 yo DD2 was.

Pigley, exciting on the scan. You (and all the other pg ladies) be careful walking in this snow now.

Ohoh, O is grumbling best go and see what's wrong - she's probably wondering why DH and I haven't come to bed yet (we've been in bed early for heat the last few nights). Pigley, I'll be suing the makers of my implant if all these early nights result in another cub

disneystar1 · 10/01/2010 22:13

hiya all...

hope your well.. glad op was ok, hoping sam recovers

x

sk- what you having?

Poledra · 13/01/2010 10:54

No time to post properly (meeting in 5 minutes!). Just wanted to ask how Sam was, Disney (if you have time to post!)?

sweetkitty · 13/01/2010 14:05

hi all been quiet in there

M2L - don't know yet, car trouble and the snow meant we didn't get to go last Saturday so have rescheduled for this Saturday instead, think I will just go in and tell them to confirm it's a girl, how are you finding two?

Disney - hope Sam is recovering well been reading your updates on FB. he looks amazing

Poledra - I am the same totally fed up with the snow and ice although it's more ice now, our nursery car park has huge holes full of icy water, the rest of it is sheet ice, the car hates it as do I holding DD2's hand carrying Bethany across it.

Isaidno - poor Poppy chicken pox is foul

Rumpel - sounds like you had a good Christmas, will send you an e-mail in a bit

I'm doing OK 24 weeks today so a bit of a milestone. SPD is back with a vengence, am trying to learn my lessons from last time and not do to much but I am not the sitting still for long kind of person and it takes a lot for me to ask for help IYSWIM. DP is going to be doing compressed hours at work so will have Wednesdays off to help and I am going to sort out a cleaner and ironing lady.

Madam Bethany is still a madam, tantrums constantly, everything DD2 has she wants and will just launch herself at it, if she cannot get something she screams, if she doesn't like something she screams, she screams a lot, she wants you to read books to her constantly, via the medium of throwing books at you and screaming. She is an utter joy (when she is happy that is) and her singing and dancing cracks me up, I think she is going to be the musical one as she loves singing (with the actions of course) and is always dancing.

mama2LeahAndAisha · 13/01/2010 15:46

coping with 2 is hard-work, aaishah just feeds all the time, mostly at night so i get no flipping sleep, i am so exhausted i feel like walking out the door and giving up!
leah is just a madam, so much hardwork, tantrums, hitting, throwing...
aaishah just babbles, doesn't sleep properly at night...

i know im moaning..i do love them dearly.

just need a break....

mama2LeahAndAisha · 13/01/2010 15:47

p.s sk
i think you might be having a boy....

pigleychez · 14/01/2010 14:36

Hello everyone.

Hope you are all well.

Disney- Sam is doing so well bless him! Always has been a brave little soldier!

Cant believe how grown up our babies have become. They really are little people now arent they!

Another one here fed up with the snow! Thankfully the temp is rising a tad now and it appears to be slowly melting.
Good job too really as it seems the gas board are going to be diggin up the road to replace the pipes soon. Can see a couple of guys out there now eyeing up the road and a lot of barriers have arrived. Our road is going to be a nightmare!

mama2LeahAndAisha- Good to hear from you! Sorry to hear you are so tired.. It will get better im sure

OP posts:
bebejones · 14/01/2010 19:42

Hi everyone!

M2L&A - sorry you are so tired, I'm sure it will get better like Pigley said!

Pigley, SK, McChesers, MinnieMummy - how are you PG ladies doing?

Disney - Sam is such a superstar, can't believe how different he looks now! Make sure you still try and take some time for yourself, even if it's just 5mins a day xx

Snow is melting here at pace considering how much was still on the ground! I'm probably the only person I know who is not sad to see it go! Although was treacherous (sp?) walking to docs today in the frozen slush, even had my Cat boots on & was sliding everywhere!

Is anyone else struggling to get LO to 'do' naptime? P will not just fall asleep anywhere so we always put her upstairs for a nap after lunch. Used to be 1.5 - 2 hours (sometimes more) but now she just plays in her cot for hours. Have tried leaving her to see if she drifts off (can take 2 hours ) have tried getting her up again & putting her down later. Trouble is if I put her down later then I have to wake her up for dinner & then she is grumpy & cries & won't eat. Similarly if she doesn't have a nap by about 4pm she is knackered & grumpy so then by dinnertime she is so worked up & overtired she wont eat & screams the house down! She doesn't seem like she is ok without a nap but at the same time most days just won't nap or has 1/2 hour before I wake her up! Any ideas? Is it a phase? She doesn't stop all day, she must walk miles!!

MinnieMummy · 16/01/2010 16:47

Where's SK???!! Want to know how her scan went!!! Now!!
I've been struggling a bit this week in terms of just finding the day-to-day stuff really hard, am always late, dishevelled, weepy etc. - but I think it is just hormones plus getting bigger and less able. I've just had a big nap so am feeling LOT better, phew. Although I think what I need is a 'mother's help'!!

Bebe no idea on the naps, P still has two hrs for which I am v grateful! Like Bethany she can tantrum well when she wants but usually it's all over pretty quick. She's loving books too at the mo - similarly it's throw book at you, launch self uncomfortably at bump and sit down, turn five pages at once, close book, throw on floor, repeat, repeat, repeat..!

bebejones · 16/01/2010 18:42

Oooh yes SK, scan updates please?!

sweetkitty · 16/01/2010 19:08

hi ladies sorry was scoffing a Chinese, well had my scan this afternoon, everything was fine and well

it has some extra bits

WE ARE HAVING A BOY!!!!

I think we are in complete shock, we had "her" names chose and everything but the minute the sonographer took a look it ws VERY obvious, DP must have asked her about 10 times if she was sure.

bebejones · 16/01/2010 19:33

Yay SK, what a nice surprise! Bet that is going to be a shock to the system! Have you told the DD's, how did they take the news?

MinnieMummy · 16/01/2010 19:44

Wowsers SK!!! So DD2 will be esp pleased, she's the tomboy right?

Except now you are going to have to spend the rest of your life denying the 'you kept going til you had a boy then' comments!!

V cool. Boys are trouble too ;)

congrats!

sweetkitty · 16/01/2010 20:04

The DDs were with us at the scan, DD1 was a bit upset but quickly came round to the idea.

DD2 is delighted and has offered to share her toys with him, for her birthday next week we bought her 2 dinosaurs, a snake and a spider today.

Bethany well he doesn't stand a chance with her, she is the worst by far and will run rings round him

Poledra · 16/01/2010 21:23

SK, you're having a boy! What's one of them then? Congratulations, though I admit I thought the same thing as Minnie re the comments you'll get.

Just had a disastrous meal out - DH decided it was time that we tried taking the DDs out for an evening meal again (it was his birthday during the week). I knew it wouldn't work - they can be great in a restaurant at lunchtimes but it's much more dodgy with an evening meal. And he wanted to go the Malaysian place near us. So, the DDs ate very little (except Orlaith, who ate loads), he got annoyed with them and I ended up putting them all to bed as I felt he was being unnecessarily snappy with them.

Have finally evicted O from our bedroom - I haven't had an unbroken night's sleep in 18 months. I still didn;t get a full night's sleep, but at least I was only up once with her, from 01:50 to 02:30, then she settled back down till 07:00, so not too bad. Here's hoping that it continues to improve.

Disney, loads of love and good health vibes to our lovely Sam

I'm off to bed with a cup of tea and my Nigel Slater book, to dream of nice meals cooked by someone else and enjoyed by my children

JODIEwantsanewname · 17/01/2010 09:43

Wowsers SK, A blue one??????? Thats cool!!!!

congratulaions! (maybe your MIL will talk to you now

Bebe Sam's dropping his nap too, He does get tired during the day, so I hae some 'time out' with him, close the curtains, lie on the sofa type thing, but if he has a nap he won't settle at night It's a PiTA but it's OK really!

Sorry I've not been on much, but those of you on FB will already know, but I slipped on the ice and came a cropper and have broken my elbow in 2 places! (ouch) I'm on the trauma list to have a pin put in it, but so far have been bumped off the list and am still waiting, it's so annoying! so currently my left arm is in plaster from armpit to wrist, thankfully I'm righthanded, but it's still pretty frustrating!

How's Sam getting on Disney?

ILoveGregoryHouse · 17/01/2010 10:02

Hiya, just dropping in from Bahrain (I was donutmum, logan's mummy) to say congrats to sweetkitty, saw the news on the baby name boards. I'm sure you will get plenty of annoying comments about the "kept going.." thing but just grit your teeth. And after you'd spent all that time thinking about a name for her, you've got to do it all again. How exciting.

Good luck getting used the different bits -think it's easier to get poo off lol!

Isaidno · 17/01/2010 20:19

Lovely news SK; poor boy / lucky boy with all those sisters to fuss him!

Jodie - poor you xxx

M2LA - It will get better ((hug))

Poppy still has an afternoon nap for at least an hour, but she doesn't sleep through the night. It is a hard time when they are nearly ready to drop it. I love naptime - the only time I get peace!

We have booked a holiday - Majorca for 2 weeks in August, all inclusive. Can't wait, and we're going to Center parcs this Friday for the weekend too.
The dc and I have no passports so now I have to fork out £220 to the passport office.

Disney - hope you and Sam are well xx

NotAnOtter · 17/01/2010 21:31

sk another congratulations from me! I am so so so pleased for you and will stick a cyber two fingers up at folk who think you cared what you got! You will be so in love with him - I am really really pleased for you and dp ( and those lovely girls ) x

sweetkitty · 18/01/2010 13:12

Thank you ladies still in a fair bit of shock, don't think it will sink in until we actually see him, looking forward to buying some boys clothes after years of pink.

Isaidno - am so of your holiday, if we do get away this year it will be October break probably to centerparcs as well. Cannot go before no4 makes his appearance as you can imagine I cannot walk far with the SPD right now, then don't really fancy going anywhere with a brand new baby.

Ilovegregoryhouse - thanks, have no idea about boys name TBH there is nothing that jumps out at me yet, "she" was to be called Isabella.

Jodie - ouch poor you, am so glad the ice has gone now it was treacherous, hope you are on the mend soon

Bethany still has an afternoon nap of about an hour to an hour and a half, saves my sanity, it's our quiet time, only DD2 here and she usually plays on the pc or watches TV/draws, nice to have the peace before the school run and DD1 getting home.

DD1 was about 2 1/2 when she dropped her nap, DD2 was just under 2, I hope B takes after DD1 more, one of my friends DDs still has a nap and she is 4

How am I going to cope with the school run with 2??? Well four actually you know what I mean, 2 would be easy

Poledra - I know a boy!!?? We only do lunch out here as well. B was evicted from our room at a year and has settled into her own room really well, she sleeps through the night every night which is great, it's the other two that occasionally wake you up to tell you about their bad dream/ask you what time it is/try to sneak in for a cuddle/ask for a drink etc etc

M2LAA - it really does get a lot easier I know everyone says it. DD2 was a nightmare sleeper the first year and wanted on tap boob all night or so it would seem. First year was the worst then DD2 started sleeping through and it got a lot better.

mama2LeahAndAisha · 18/01/2010 17:42

i knew it was a boy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rumpel · 18/01/2010 19:55

bebejones · 19/01/2010 15:20

Just a quickie...

If a group of mum's described your LO as 'full of energy', 'fun', & 'excitable' would you see this as code for 'a disruptive handful'?

P is active & a often runs riot at music & toddler classes. Now starting to think that she is seen as 'the naughty child'. I just can't keep up with her & if I try & hold onto her & get hit & scratched!

Do you think I should be concerned? She knows she is being naughty & usually laughs, but the only way to get her to stop is to let her get her own way!!! 'No' & 'Stop' are concepts she doesn't seem to grasp unless DH is telling her off. Am I being a bit anal about it, she seems far worse than any other child at these groups!
