bebejones · 20/11/2009 22:24

Am I being really thick?! What's talk round-up?

Disney - poor Sam, hope they get it treated asap x

Pigley - toe is getting better, has to be up there as one of the most ridiculously painful yet stupid injuries! P can 'do' the open beaker drinking until she gets bored and thinks that a juice shower would be better than drinking it! But she also throws cutlery on the floor and takes all her food off her plate and throws that on the floor! Not sure how to tackle that really?!

Doctors are now thinking that the rash is a reaction to a virus after all that. The anti-histamines get rid of the rash really quickly when it comes up so at least she isn't scratching at it anymore. This bug is quite horrid for her though, her cough sounds awful, like she is barking & she is really rattley when she breathes. Hoping she won't get another chest infection.

minipinkscottish · 20/11/2009 22:36

Hi Guys just popping in to say hello and that I have not forgotten you all xxxx

Disney - hope Samuel gets the right antibiotics and that the op can be re-scheduled soon. Look forward to the hol in Paris and the wonderful time you will all have together

How are all the pg mummies???? Still feel very

Have been to see 2012 this evening.....wow!! Fantastic!!! Amazing!!! Frightening!!!!!

Abbie is becoming a wee chatter box and is soooooooooo loving towards me and dh and her siblings but especially ds2...she just loves him and shrieks in delight when he walks in the room....he's 15......should I be worried??...wait till she's a teenager
Take care all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

mama2leahAndAaisha · 21/11/2009 09:28

disneystar1 · 22/11/2009 22:02

hi guys,

hi M2L + aaisha wow every hour no wonder your tired, how old is little missy now? How is Leah with her, now shes that little bit older

we went to see the christmas carol at cinema tonight in 3D it was fantastic, this film is my alltime xmas fav and to see it done so well was fabulous
samuel was a little star and watched the whole thing not a peep out if him.

got to dash samuels in bed and since we came back from hospital he wont be alone anywhere, if he wakes up we have to sit in his room or he goes hysterical and makes himself sick , he really shakes like hes scared if were not there, im only in the next room as well, were going to get a camp type bed as i want to keep him in his cot as much as possible, but i understand he has fears now, my poor little guy... take care all xxxx

bebejones · 24/11/2009 19:29

All gone very quiet again!

M2L&A - poor you, up every hour must be exhausting! I have no words of wisdom I'm afraid.

Disney - Poor Sam, hope he is starting to adjust back to normal again.

Having a rough few days, P has got the most hideous cold (We all have it now) She has possibly perforated her ear drum again (she did it at 8 weeks old) got to speak to GP again in morning. She sounds awful poor thing, so rattly when she breathes/coughs and constantly streaming with snot. If she cries she ends up in such a state she is gasping for air & keeps chocking on gunk!

Been getting all prepared for Xmas & wrapped a few presents today. Going to my mums next week so have to take all pressies for there with me as I won't see her again before Xmas. Wrapping always takes me agains as I enjoy making a real effort. I use alot of ribbon & bows, DH jokes the wrapping costs more than the gift!

Hope everyone is ok, and just quietly lurking!

disneystar1 · 25/11/2009 16:15

im still here bebe, and poor P she sounds terrible, bless her, there so little and dont undertand what happening do they, i hope she gets better soon, its always something isnt it....

going to get dinner now

anyone else here please say hi, getting kinda lonely now

pigleychez · 25/11/2009 20:18

Im here!

M2L&A!- Hope your all well and you manage to get some sleep!

Disney- Hope Sams ok, I can understand him being abit scared bless him.

Bebe- Hope P's cold is better soon. Cant be nice for her
Im the same with wrapping. Ive done 90% of my shopping and its already wrapped!
I do nice bows and things too Im known for my wrapping

Christmas is coming round very quickly! Cant wait to put the tree up as Abigail is going to love it! She loves the decorations going up in the shops. They are all "pretty" apparently!

Totally shocked by Abigail tonight. Happily playing along with her duplo bricks, when DH and I heard.."1,2,3,4". We both looked at her and she was counting the bricks. We both looked at each other in amazement!
She continued playing and then heard "8,9,10". She never stops amazing me!

Going to see my friends newborn tomorow.. Practice for Abigail.

I'm still here, but suffering (self-inflicted) injuries. Went to the pub last night (probably my first night out since O was born) and had 2 large glasses of red wine. One would have been enough, methinks - feeling all woolly round the edges today.....

Rumpel · 26/11/2009 20:18

Rumpel · 27/11/2009 19:05

Hi all,

soz not been on much lately - life too busy. DH had his end of year exams Wed and Thurs and I feel like I have had the Dcs 24/7 for years now! Another 2 years of studying to go - sob! Still at least he is finished until Jan.

Amber has been sleeping in with me for 4 months now - massive yawn emoticon. i put her back to her own bed then she is in again a while later [grr].

Calvin has been 'off' the last few days - seems to be constipated and over tired - I was up most of last night with him. so not like him as he is usually such a happy wee soul (apart from the red ahir temper LOL).

He is running around now and can even jump - not saying much though.

All sorted here for Xmas - Dh is taking the kids away to PILs weekend before X,as so I can wrap pressies and have some time in the house all by myself - woo hoo!!!!!

DD started pre-school and dancing lessons - which she loves.

Xmas pressies -lots of little people that C can put in and out of various toys - aeroplane, wow toys etc. DD has clothes and books and drawing materials and cash register. C also has Thomas tank railway set. DH has a Nick Nairn cook school gift voucher and some Calvin Klein aftershve - BOGOF in Debbies .

We are off to my parents next week - they have a farm in the highlands so DD is uber exicted - she loves it- so is my Mum as she can't wait to see them LOL.

Still doing my netmums meets - we have had 2 baby boys in the last month and a wee girl on Wednesday. Got to cuddle a 2 week old on Wed - you forget so quickly how teeny and ickle they are . can't see us having another far too stressed out with the 2 I've got and Dhs work/studying. We'll be 40 by the time he graduates .

Lecturing going well.

Oh well must go and throw myself int he bath.

M2L - great news about your SIL - must be V hard work though.

Hope everyone is well and sorry not mentioned any specifics but I always seem top be rushed these days and can't retain any info .

Squishy hugs to all....xxxxxxxxxx

disneystar1 · 27/11/2009 20:56

rumpel hope is goes great for your dh

it must be hard studying and having 2 dc,s too,

have a lovely time at your mums it sounds lovely (can i come)

M2L and A wow at your sil rather her than me, but how lovely though x

bebejones · 28/11/2009 19:32

Rumpel - I agree with Disney, your mums farm sounds lovely, can I come as well!

P has definately ruptured her ear drum for the 2nd time! Had such a rush around on Friday to get to the docs with 10mins notice! Just hoping that she doesn't go on to get an infection in it this time. Would make it her 4th lot of Antibiotics in her short little life. Not sure how normal that is, but they always give her horrible nappies for weeks!

Had a long chat with GP about the SF jab though which was very interesting. I have been called for one (going Monday) because of the MS. (Even though they think I have already had the pig flu!) Asked about P having it too, and he said they aren't doing children yet as DoH have changed their minds 3 times already on who qualifies! That aside, he told me that they have about 1450 patients who need the jab because of existing medical conditions, and they have been sent 500 doses of vaccine . He said older people are more likely to have some degree of natural immunity so they're targeting under 35's with medical conditions 1st off, then PG ladies, then over 65's then everyone else who qualifies. Just so shocked at the utter shambles this all seems to be, and feel very sorry for the poor GP's who are picking up all the flack. He said if they add in all under 10's (Weds advice to them from DoH) it would take the number of people needing it at our surgery to over 2500, and they have only enough for 500 people! Ridiculous!

Anyway, I am waffling now! Hope everyone is having a good weekend, it is freezing here!

minipinkscottish · 28/11/2009 19:35

Hi All
sorry not been on much...where does the time go?? Been busy with work and Christmas shopping etc. Maybe going to go back to work full time next year but at same time Need to have a distraction from being broody and I do love this job I'm doing and can see my career really taking off now...if I go for it and stop thinking of babies... Really hormonal just now
Abbie is fantastic - a real wee star...so clever and gorgeous and still bf but also eats really well feeding herself like a little princess

Hope all pg mummies are doing well
Disney - hope Sam is more settled at home now - Christmas Carol sounds great - I am looking forward to seeing it
Take care all

Just noticed the smiley....very strange xxxxxxxxxxxxx

mcchesers · 29/11/2009 16:26

What's up with the ? Hey everyone. Poor little Phoebe! Bebe ear infections are the worst. As I said on FB Aidan has one too, nasty. Both my guys are sick with colds and our kitchen counter looks like a chemists shop. I've been giving him vanilla tea and honey and that seems to help. Of course he's non stop and glued to our legs 24/7.

I've decided in order to have a happy holiday, I'm going to avoid DH's mum. She's now asking if we are going to "try for a girl" and I said "no the shop is closed..we're happy with what we have" So she goes on about one of DH's school friend's wee girls and how she's giving her presents and how clever and she's always wanted a girl. She also told us that she didn't want the Peckham's hampers we usually get because "well not to be nasty, but we have food in the house" WTF?!! How rude!!

So have no idea what to get them this year..maybe a card. She hasn't sent a gift for us since we told her she couldn't babysit (being unable to walk and on copious amounts of morphine and all). I'm just going to send a card with some of Aidan's drawings. Maybe some people just need attention.

mcchesers · 29/11/2009 16:33

sorry..just had to get that out. going through a very moody phase of this pregnancy..very sensitive. 22 weeks and I've got hot flashes and weepiness. Getting some good wiggles and kicks though. xx

JODIEwantsanewname · 29/11/2009 16:49

Hi all,

The thing is a reference to the Gordon Brown webchat where he didn't answer many questions at all, let alone the most important 'What's your fave biscuit' one. It caused a huge stir and the biscuit thing was mentioned on Have I Got News For You and David Cameron even made reference to it on PM Questions!!!!

Glad everyone is doing OK, Sam's really changing at the moment, I can't believe that he'll be 18 months just after xmas and he's so cheeky! He's gone from being my little angel to being a complete pain!!! He switches all the electric switches off at the wall, he's in the fridge ALL THE TIME, hands in butter, cream cheese and little bite marks in the cheese and cucumber!!!! I can't turn my back for a minute!!!!! As he can't talk all I get all day is 'eh, eh, eh, eh' it drives me mad. BUT Oliver went through this too and it soon stopped, once he could talk, so I have patience!!!!

rumpel Hope you have a lovely time at your parents, I wish I had somewhere like that to 'escape' too, I miss all my camping trips of the summer!!!!!! Have a great time.

All my wishes to all the PG ladies and everyone else!

mcchesers · 29/11/2009 18:21

Oh!! Thanks Jodie. I've been out of the loop.I'm still laughing about the bites in the cucumber..although I know it isn't funny to you. We have an industrial frige and Aidan can't get into it, otherwise I'm sure we'd be the same way. So in your experience, how long does this phase take to pass? I've been trying to teach Aidan signs because he just doesn't like to talk. Have any of you had any luck with that?

minipinkscottish · 29/11/2009 19:10

.............

bebejones · 29/11/2009 19:56

Mcchesers - I hope Aidan feels better soon. P goes from being ultra clingy to racing around like a loony to collapsed in a heap on the floor sobbing within the blink of an eye ATM! But her ear is looking a little less slimey today!! Can't believe you are obver the half way mark of this pregnancy!

No advice on signs, I have a complete chatter box here, typical girl! New words this week are cheese, hat & (possibly) Christmas (sounds like Krissss-Pa-T so jury is still out on that one!)

Quick question: Does anyone still give LO milk before bed? It's part of the routine here, and not sure we can drop it. It's the only feed still in an actual bottle (all others are in cups) Do those that still give bedtime feeds use bottles or cups?! Trying to get rid of the bottle...but P seems quite attached!

JODIEwantsanewname · 30/11/2009 07:40

Ahh so annoyed, I just wrote a long post and DS1 came and messed with the mouse and bloody lost the whole thing

Anyway, in short,

Mcchesers Oliver was about 20 months when he stopped, he wasn't doing it when Sam was born at 21 months, and by 2 he was chatting away.

Bebe I still give Sam a bottle at bedtime, it's the only 'baby' thing he still does and I'm in no rush to give it up! They are only little for such a small amount of time!

How long have all the pregnant ladies got left? When's the next scans? Are you going to find out what flavour you are having this time??

mcchesers · 30/11/2009 12:51

real quick before I head to work..

Jodie- 22 weeks..it's a boy..all scans looking good he's another big boy!

bebejones · 30/11/2009 20:26

Feeling crap! (rant alert) DH's bank account has been subject to fraud.......again! 3rd time this year! Emptied it this time in one transfer! Fraud dept are saying it is something on our PC ........whatever!! I'm just so things are tight enough as it is! Now it could be weeks before it's sorted out again and we have our money back! Transaction description said 'Payback'.....bastards!!!!!!!! Hopefully they can trace this and catch the evil nasty people who have done this. What right do they have to steal from people's bank accounts?! If it was something on our PC, how would it know to emulate the banks website? And who would be sitting there watching it everyday to alert them to when DH had logged on to online banking?! It's so unfair, I just keep thinking 'Why us?'

Plus I had SF jab this evening and feel lousy, and it's our 2nd Wedding anniversary tomorrow. It has been 2 years from hell! P is the only good thing that has happened to us in our first 2 years of marriage. Just makes me so sad

Sorry to winge, just everything is getting me down today! Things are always 'picking up' here, but something always seems to get in the way and make it 20 times worse, everytime there is a glimmer of hope it gets snatched away!

pigleychez · 30/11/2009 21:22

oh Bebe, what a nightmare!!
Really hope you can get it sorted soon Some people are just plain evil. Someone used my credit card once.. booked flights and a hotel in thier own name and address!! Idiot! It had got picked up as fraud as it wasnt in my name so the credit card company rang to check if it was actually me ordering for a friend or something.

re milk- Abigail still has a bottle of milk before bed. Like P its part of her routine. I have thought of changin it to a sippy cup but she seems to be slowly weaning herself off it so thinking now I may just wait till she stops wanting it all together.

Jodie - im 16 weeks this week, my scan is beg Jan and plan to keep it a suprise again

Mcchesers- No experience of signing here.. Disney might be a good one to ask as she does it with Sam.
Abigail is a chatterbox too and is a little parrot!!
Re MIL- a few days before i found out i was pregnant, the subject of babies came up somehow. MIL says, well you dont want another baby yet surely! Her face when we told her a few days later was a picture!

Minipink- Glad you are well and happy. Abbie sounds fab

Well Abigail is a star as ever, another fb swimming lesson today. She is really getting into xmas now and loves seeing Father "Kissmass" on the TV. I did her a Santa message on the pc too which she loved... huge smiles! Loved the fact that Father christmas had her photo in his book!

Abigail has begin to call herself Abi lately. No idea why as she doesnt hear it very often at all. Its only nanny that says that. She picks up a toys and says "Abi's".
Also caught her calling me Cheryl a few times lately.. Obviously picking up on what other people call me. Too clever for her own good!

OP posts:
sweetkitty · 30/11/2009 21:50

Oh loads of messages

Firstly update here, madam B is still a madam, honestly the temper she has, I thought DD2 was bad but she is not a patch on B, she is lovely until she doesn't get her own way then is meltdown, she hits and pulls her sisters' hair but they are so good with her, DD1 loves reading stories to her it's very sweet. Loads of new words here, my favourite is shoes and if I shout one of the other two she copies me.

18 weeks on Wednesday, will have to pay for 20 week scan again so will ask the sex but all bets are on a fourth girl, I do get a lot of the "are you trying for a boy?" thing too

pigley - that wee Abigail is a star trying to call you Cheryl as well, I just get MUM for everything really, MUM and point. I have started wrapping here too all coordinated, the girls have a different wrapping paper each as I don't do tags so they each know their own presents, the big two are SO excited already.

bebe - aww wish I could give you a virtual hug and some chocolate, you have had a rough time of it so you whinge ahead. Poor wee P, ear infections are so common in babies, B had one and she was the first of my babies ever to have antibiotics, she has a constant runny nose too. Oh B doesn't have any milk at bedtime given that she threw it away in disgust quite a few times, she won't drink milk so needs loaded up on yoghurt each day, it's the only thing she will allow me to feed her and even then it's a battle.

Jodie - love the food thing, I am sure B would be in the fridge if ours wasn't upside down with freezer bit at the bottom.

Mcchesers - argh your MIL, maybe we could swap babies then, tell me that we are swapping newborns you can have a girl and I can have a boy see what she says she MUST be related to my Mum as when we told her DD2 was a DD she said "well I'M not that bothered as you can always go for a third" she has been so off with DD2 as well, one of the many reasons we don't speak now. Glad no2 is doing well too

minipink - nice to "see" you, I am so hoping that after this one is born the broody gene goes away, either DP or me are getting "fixed" so there will definitely not be number 4, I feel 4 is my absolute limit and I could not give anymore to a 5th but I know I will be sad to think it's my last. We are soppy old women aren't we?

Hello to everyone else and anyone I have missed

Rumpel · 01/12/2009 13:48

Hi all - just a quickie(ish).

BEBE - what a total nightmare for you. bastards is right - happened to me via paypal before and my friends card was used to pay an elecricity bill and book flights too - some right eejits out there FGS! Buy a lottery ticket this weekend and we'll send you winning vibes . Hope it gets sorted soon in meantime - hugs, tea and sympathy.

MCCheesers - Calvin still gets milk before bed too - not a bottle but a bottle type thing - cuppy thing. He loves his milk and won't settle without it. He had amilkshake today for the first time - YUMMY was the general consensus.

SK - Calvin has a FIERCE temper - foot stamping, arms throwing the lot - he screeches now too . Hope you are feeling ok re SPD and MS.xxxx

Hope all you other pg ladies are well too.

We have had 2 boys (NM friends) and 1 girl the last 3 weeks and one was due on Friday last week - not here yet though.

Calvin is so funny - he dances now actually taps his feet - both of them and wiggles, and he can jump. he doesn't say too much - Mummy, Dad, Amb (Amber), gone, garden, bye, hi, Thun (Thunder one of the 3 cats), up and a few others.

Amber si loving pre-school and dancing classes - she has made a wee friends who is at both (the Mum is a bit dour though ) - I talk to anyone me -

had a night out in Stirling on sat with my BF here - went to see Gordon Smith aka The Psyhcic Barber (Scottish medium) and he was amazing, but rather over indulged in the pinot grigio and chatting to strangers and was dying on Sunday urghhh!!!! Was great fun at the time though

MINI - I'd love another too but it ain't going to happen - I'll be 40 by the time Dh finishes uni and don't think i could handle it .

Big wave to everyone else - off to the farm Thursday so I'll post some photos of Calvin and Amber witht he Highland cows, ducks, chickens, dogs, sheep etc when we get back - take care allxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
