blimey lots of talking tiddlers! we just get the "eh eh eh" thing too jodie ;) Louis has no real words. plus only 2 teeth so no bite marks in cucumbers here lol!

still bf'ing but only mornings really. has bottle at bed. he still seems such ababy in many ways.

moving on friday hence mimi post- hugs to you all i do missbeing on here but i've not got the time to even shave my legs at the mo so going on line feels like a luxury- promise to catch up with all yournews properly whenwe are in our new home. want to move but will cry buckets when i leave here it's our little nest where we first became a family and i feel sad too

sorry about spellingetc I am defrosting freezer with hairdryer in other hand xxx

TheRedSalamander · 01/12/2009 21:38

er that should havebeen a mini post not a mimi one!

sweetkitty · 01/12/2009 21:58

I think it's been proven that us girls talk a lot faster than the boys, continues for a lifetime.

In our house B would have to talk loads to keep up with the other two who can talk for Britain, they interrupt each other then one gets cross as she cannot talk, it's very noisy here.

B does an adorable Hiya Daddy and Up with outstretched arms when DP comes home every night, me I get MUM shouted at me constantly followed by pointing

disneystar1 · 02/12/2009 09:52

hi all, all these fiery babies here

samuel doesnt really have a temper, yet though he gets cross if he cant do stuff though.
SK samuel calls mama all day and that it, he builds a tower and its mama mama, no idea how many times i get this but its relentless

he amazes me he can now stand at his walker and walk holding on about 4 steps, 1 leg goes ok but as he has a curved spine the other leg is way of course, the boys call it a zombie leg in a nice way, hes going to get a stander soon and there looking at leg callipers, he so wants to do things, he might have disabilities but hes determed to do all these things.

i am so so proud of him

mcchesers i do signing woth samuel, we have done it since birth and i sign everytime i speak
if i sign with no words samuel would you like some snack he can sign back with no words now, of course you should always sign and speak together, basic words would be great for aiden to start with
mama, dada milk, more ,no ,stop, hurt, hot, cold, sleep, tired, oh theres lots of basics.

i do it with him as he cannot speak and tests now have shown he wont be able to either i forget the correct words without looking at my paperwork, he has something missing at the back of his throat so no sounds apart from m n ing can come out.

were om stage 2 on signs now, we do animals but were doing cows in "farms" and dog "2 fingers facing down in a sharp movement" bark

we have some good singing with hands too, twinkle twinkle is good, i can e-mail you lots to help if you like., i can scan samuels work sheets, just let me know.

14 days to go now 14 days till disney......

SK that sounds like my house my boys talk talk talk at the same time and then we get "i was talking first mom tell him.drives me nuts .

bebe so sorry to hear whats been done, its damn wicked to do that, and distress people in this way, how long will it take to sort out .

Isaidno · 03/12/2009 22:24

Hi there, trying to catch up!

re talking - Poppy not much of a talker (and she is one of the oldest here as she was actually a June baby.) She says mama, and wow - wow (meaning dog / cat / chicken / elephant / etc) and she says poo. Sometimes yes and no, not necessarily with the right head movements!

jodie - Poppy loves the fridge too, and she is always buggering up my washing machine and tumble dryer. I'm surprised the virgin box still works with all her button pressing.

Still bf here, but trying to stop at night. She has only slept through the night about 5 times ever, but I'm hoping less feeding will make her less inclined to wake up. Trouble is at 3am it is far easier to give her a quick slurp and get us both back to sleep than settle her without the bf. She doesn't have a dummy and doesn't really finger suck now she has lots of teeth.

disneystar1 · 04/12/2009 08:20

isadino she is adorable, i was having a look through your pics on fb the other day, and she is just beautiful, her big blue eyes and her smile, shes truly lovely

luckily samuel cant get into my fridge its a huge American fridge/freezer and the pull doors are too high, but if i leave it open he loves a nosey in there going ooh ooh

oh my washing maching thank god i have a laundry room, my machine is in a cycle and he stops it, or its just finished and he re starts it....

12 days to go 12 days till disney ( i sing) i cannot wait, im franticly trying to get presents done and everything organised as we arrive home quite late christmas eve....
but have dinner with mickey booked and some special 1-2-1 visits made for samuel.

his head is much worse now its very protruding on the forehead and you can put your fingers through his skull at the back now, we have to be carefull with him, try that with a crawling baby

sometimes i look at dh and he looks at me, when we are both seperatly looking at sam, it hurts to see him getting so disfigured and he has no idea , probably the best way.

went to see his paed consultant yesterday and shes arranged for his swine flu jab for next week (also all my other boys too)she asked if we have claimed to disability living allowance for Samuel, i said no, its ok dh wont claim anything, and she explained to him its for samuel, its not charity, and sam will get it under the special rules straight away, that husband of mine is so stubborn but in a really good way, he sees its his job to provide for us ,
but he will now claim it just this 1 though,

last month ish we went weeks and weeks with no pay but he would not sign on, said it would lower is standards
i tried to tell him its a stop gap till theres more work about, but no, but the dla will help samuel so much more,
we cant nurses here we have to pay direct, out of our own pocket, so it will help now

sam now has respite care and we meet his hospice worker soon ,i cant wait for this surgery i need it done now, he needs it,

enough of me rabbiting on have a lovely day all of you xxxx

mama2leahAndAaisha · 04/12/2009 09:54

x will post a catch up later, i missed far to much

pigleychez · 07/12/2009 14:35

Hello everyone.

Had such a busy few days. Fri was my Uncles funeral. Abigail had to come too as we had trouble getting someone to have her for the day. Thankfully she was good and DH occupied her outside during the service. Was a long journey away too.
Sat we visited friends so another long drive! But had great funa and Abigail loved playing with thier 2 older girls of 7and 4.5.
Sunday we put the decs up. Abigail loved the tree going up and helped to put the baubles on. Thats one of her latest new word.. Baubles. Plus "noman" for snowman She doesnt really need teaching new words, will just repeat what you have told her then shes got it!
The flashing window lights and the little fibre optic tree we have are huge hits too.
Shes really loving Christmas.

Abigail is now dropping to just the one sleep after lunch.

disney- Not long to go now Lucky you!

Starting to feel the odd kicks now from bubba. Bringing back lots of memories of Abigail and making her seem even more grown up! 17 weeks this week- cant beleive how quickly its going!

Hope everyones well

Poledra · 08/12/2009 09:26

Morning all
Just a quick one while I wait to go out and watch DD2 in her Christmas concert (tissues - check, camera - check!).
Can't believe you're at 17 weeks already, Pigley! SK, do you know yet if we're welcoming our fourth little girl kitten?
Orlaith had a bad fall on Saturday. Typically, I was just getting ready to go out to my work Christmas do - I hadn't really wanted to go, but then I'd got all dolled up and was quite looking forward to it. My MIL was here, and she'd just said to the girls 'Will you all stop jumping on that sofa, it's not safe.' when O fell off te sofa and landed with her mouth on hte coffee table so hard that she left teethmarks in it . It seems to be all OK - she's caught the skin on the inside of her mouth between her front teeth, but the GP said just to leave it and it will release itself naturally. I was a bit late for the party, as I waited to make sure she was all right. As she'd eaten a boiled egg, a banana and was trying to steal pizza from her sisters, I reckoned I was OK to go . However, I wore a dress I've had since before DD1 was born [too tight to buy a new one emoticon] and by the end of the night, I felt truly squashed! I unfastened the zip to drive home, it was so tight . I would never have survived in hte days of corsets.....

O is full of the cold now, so very snotty. She doesn't have a huge number of words, but can make herself understood alright! We get Dada, Mama, Me me me (when she wants something) and Gus, my CM's dog! That's another worry - Gus the dog is getting quite old, and he's not well. DD2 adores him, and he's pretty fond of her. She sits cuddling him when they're watching TV or listening to stories. My CM and I were discussing last night how we'll deal with it when he dies or has to be put to sleep I'm planning to be honest with her; the only thing I don't want is for the CM to use the phrase 'put to sleep' as I don't want her to be afraid to go to sleep herself.

O can't get into the fridge, but we've had to childlock the food cupboard, as she's pretty nifty at getting in and stealing breadsticks. I'm also having to put my handbag up on a coathook, as she's more than happy to empty that all over the floor for me too. DH heard a strange noise the other day and went into the kitchen to find her pinging pieces of chewing gum on one of those noisy plastic racquets - I'm still finding pieces of gum underneath the kitchen cupboards.

Disney hope it all goes well with the hospital today. I better get ready to go and be a weepy proud mummy. Take care all.

Rumpel · 08/12/2009 20:44

Hi all - a quickie. On the farm and dcs are loving it. Amber is straight in there with the animals and hiking with Grandpa. Calvin is a bit scared of the animals. He was frozen and mesmorized at the same time in amongst the chickens .
My grandma came over for dinner tonight and loved seeing the kids.

Calvin's words have come on massively here - now saying byebye, nite nite, Georgie (pig), and leads of other things. he is very funny - playing with the pram here and putting on his big sis's jewellery (she loves bling). He has this teddy whom he loves - Rusty Bear- he chose in Centerparcs. He was puttin him in the play car seat and telling him to lie down whilst pushing him in tonight very funny .

DISNEY - a relief but scary about Samuels op - at least you get to enjoy Disney before youhave to faceup to it. Hugs.

PIGLEY - I liked the feeling of baby kicking - that and not having AF were about the onlythings I liked about being pg .

Take care all
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

disneystar1 · 08/12/2009 21:04

oh poor O it always horrible when they have bumps and sounds like she had a big bump, bless here hope it all heals quick.

i so agree with being honest about death and the phrases one can use, im very honest with my boys but in a childlike way as to not scare them, as all children develop this natural fear of being left alone at some point, hope the "talk" goes good

another day at oxford hospital today, not for samuel but to see the geneticist and plastic surgeon for my other 2 alan 9 and charlie 8
alan is 9 and a half but the mentality of approx 3 year old, he doesnt walk far and his heart condition is poor, he had several heart attacks before 7 mths old and heart failure at 8mth and a double bypass at 10 mths old, he is a complete handfull

sadly his eyes are failing now whch is why we went there, just one eye but hardly any sight left in it, sometimes i could stand in the middle of the road and just scream, with frustration, and the unjust of it all, but what would be the point
were handed out in life what we have, and my job is to make the best of it

just had to delay this post and totally pissed of now, this job of dh,s consists of him driving an artic approx 100 miles and deliver hundreds of palletts which takes approx 6 to 8 hours then he drives the 100 back to yard then back home another half hour

his boss just rang and said he has to double run which is doing all that twice, and if he didnt hes sacked, just like that,
my dh has just turned his lorry around full to the brim of palletts to be delivered and taking it back to his boss, he can shove it
dh is the ONLY class 1 driver there , i cant bloody believe it, no job right now before christmas,

you may ask why he didnt do as asked , firstly look at how many hours hes worked if he gets stopped by vosa he will lose his lorry license straight away, this totally unfair, his boss or rather ex is out of order, do a risky job and lose your license or lose your job....what choice did he have.

sweetkitty · 08/12/2009 21:50

hi all

19 weeks tomorrow, don't know if it's another girl yet but pretty sure it is, will find out for sure in a few weeks will keep you all updated. Everyone fine here usual snots and coughs, B is her usual fiery self at the centre of everything.

Disney - saw Samuel's op date, I know you are dreading it but as you have said he really needs it and in some ways I bet the waiting is the worst part. Anyway January is a year away so go off and enjoy your holiday all of you, bummer about your DHs job too

Rumpel - can we come to the farm with you next time? Sounds fab. We went through the whole death thing with the DDs when MIL died suddenly in July, we were as honest as we could be, they asked why Gran had died and we said that her heart was broken and that she had to go to heaven and that heaven was better than Centerparcs and she was very happy there. They do ask some pretty sad questions like "why don't they have phones in heaven?" and "will Daddy's heart break and he will die too?" Feel quite sad as they don't see my Mum so they have no Grans really now.

Poledra - poor wee Orlaith, mouth and lips seem to be a favourite to get hurt, loads of blood but they seem to heal really quickly. The two older ones were playing under our duvet last year and fell off the bed, DD2's head connected with DD1's mouth and OMG the blood and swelling, poor wee thing could hardly talk or eat but a few days later it was nearly all gone.

Hope everyone else is doing well hello to preggie buddy pigley, will catch up with you on the other thread, loved the new FB pics too

Isaidno · 10/12/2009 12:26

Can't believe you preggers ones are nearly halfway already. I think 1st pregnancies go so slow, and subsequent ones zoom by. Of course the last couple of weeks of any pregnancy are the most boring of all.

Disney; have a good hol; hope all your hospital stuff goes to plan.

My dad's in hospital - he fell off a ladder and broke his shoulder. Complaining the nurses won't let him out for a fag because he's under 48hr obs as he banged his head as well. Hopefully he will come out on Saturday. I'm going home then to deliver pressies. Better not let any dc jump over him.

Poppy has started telling me she has done a poo - very impressed as she is only just 18 mths next week. I think the real nappies will def help with potty training. She will seem a big girl then.

We're off to town in a minute to price up holidays abroad because dh is in line for a good bonus at work (not a banker's bonus though!!) I haven't been abroad since before having ds1 - 7 years ago. Any recommendations / advice anyone?

disneystar1 · 10/12/2009 21:04

isaidno what a clever little girl,

about the holiday, what type of things do guys as a family like to do, as that really depends on which type of setting you want to go for, when are you thinking of travelling?

Isaidno · 11/12/2009 09:32

We have to go in August so realise it will be hot hot hot. Got some quotes for Menorca and Portugal. We have decided to go all inclusive because it's not much cheaper to do self catering. I think as long as there is a pool, and preferably a beach we should be ok. Not bothered about kids clubs because the boys are not really into that. The all inclusive resorts all seem to be a bit remote; I suppose people tend not to stray too far from the free drinks! Decisions, decisions £4k is alot of money to spend, and I don't want to wish we'd gone to Butlins!

disneystar1 · 11/12/2009 21:48

you can go to Florida for 4k and rent a house with your own pool.

also think who you are going to be flying with, as it makes a lot of difference traveling with children.

weve travelled all over with the boys, it will be samuels first flight next november long haul though. we always travel with virgin atlantic, excellent service and as were platinum flyers we get to go in the v-room before flying, and to us with the dc,s the bit before flying makes the whole holiday much smoother ,i always say to dh our hols always start the minute we reach the airport....

same as you we dont leave the boys in the kids clubs, i like to actually holiday with my sons, thats makes my holiday

also think about will you need car rental or are you happy to stay on resort, if so how long is the transfer from the airport to your chosen hotel? A 2 hour transfer can seem ages with crabby dc,s in the heat and tired.

have fun looking and choosing, i think thats the fun part too

pigleychez · 12/12/2009 21:27

Rumpel- No AF is a definate bonus!!!!

Isaidno- Hope your Dads shoulder gets better soon.
Not really any help on the holidays as we have get to venture abroad with Abigail.

Had a bit of a rough few days here. DH's Nan has been having a few funny turns the past week and started having a few falls and then had a mini stroke. On Thursday she was found collapsed at home and rushed into hospital. Her heart rate was down to 26! The paramedic was amazed she was still able to walk and talk.
Seems she also has a small bleed to the back of the brain too as she hit her head when she fell. That night the Dr's told us all to expect the worst
We she was fitted with a pacemaker yesterday to regulate her heartrate and that seems to have really helped her. Shes been moved today from intensive care so shes definately improving. Still being closely monitored cause of the bleed in the head but shes stopped seeing things today which is a good sign. Phew!

Baby has been going crazy today. Been pretty much feeling constant movement/kicking/thumping all day!

OP posts:
disneystar1 · 13/12/2009 08:18

pigley i hope she gets better and things settle down,

baby has a way of knowing if mommy is upset and is giving you a good kick and some good moves to make you happy

had a terrible night here all the boys had there swine flu jab yesterday and within hours samuel was poorly

he has a raging temperature a runny and blocked nose, his poor little leg where they did the shot is sore and swollen, all the other are fine its just him.

they did say it has side effects though.

dh saw to him and sat up with him half the night so im up and hes sleeping in a bit.

3 days to go now and we go to disney, im still not ready yet

presents to wrap today and of to my dd,s house this afternoon to exchange, hampers all delivered and sorted,
as we come home christmas eve it all has to be done

ive made reservations at all our restaurants as weve gone full board
the last day samuel is having a special dinner with mickey mouse at his table, they dont know this so its going to be a great suprise as its literally the last thing before we leave,
as you guys know my disabled son Alan jay 9 has got crouzons too ,it was discovered on tuesday that his sight is now failing quite rapidly, we came home to my dh,s job has gone too....

its felt a bit of a blur this week and quite unreal, we both have total stress headaches, weve both decided to try not to worry and go away and have a great time.
we cant change anything so acceptance is the only answer, lets enjoy what we have right now

i had a proud mommy moment on tuesday, were at the hospital and my son danny 5 was in the play room and it was craniofacial day, there a little boy of 4 who was so so facially disfigured, one eye was normal and the other eye was near his nose, he was seeing the same as samuels plastic surgeon to help him

most of the friends network we are in the children are all different and these are the dc,that people avoid and children stare in horror (i know its natural for kids to stare) but horrible for the child involved.

the boy had a teddy and came over to us and his parents holding hands together, and said we made friends and were best friends now, the mom burst into tears and the boys were like ???? as to them they were 2 little boys who saw another child, to the mom it was something shed never seen before, some other child accepting her son for what he was.

even though danny is my only son whos not got this syndrome he is the most loving accepting child, and he looked after his teddy while he went in to see steve (surgeon)
through the eyes of a child eh!!!! pure innocence ......just perfect

bebejones · 14/12/2009 10:46

Disney - so sorry for your boys, that jab is so painful! Hope they all recover from it quickly! Have fun on your holiday you deserve it x

Pigley & SK - nearly half way already!! How exciting!

Pigley - so sorry bout your DH's nan, hope she is on the mend & home soon.

Isaidno - very of your holiday, we were planning a big one next year but I'd rather have another baby!! Hoping I can convince DH that we should still have a break somewhere, maybe Cornwall in the summer.

P still quite poorly here which is horrid. Been given an inhaler for her today to help her breathing. She is so wheezy & really struggling at night

Can't believe it's Christmas next week! Starting to get excited, we put decorations up yesterday. P loved helping me & passed the baubles up to me one at a time getting very excited! So far she hasn't paid the tree too much attention. Wonder how long that will last?

Rumpel · 14/12/2009 16:28

Hi All,

PIGLEY - hope Nan is on the mend - try and delve her brains for history as elderly people are so fascintating with their stories and memories but once they're gone they're gone . My Grandpa had just staerted to open up and then went suddenly - wish we had more time to listen to him and all his anecdotes Calvin is like him across the eyes - full of mischief!

DISNEY - have a fab time away and life will be better for you next year for sure . You'll meet a lot of kids with golden harz (sp?) and stuff like that then? The cranio/maxi surgeons are totally amazing at what they do - I find it fascinating and inspirational at how they can help people to rebuild their esteem and their lives by performing this surgery. We'll all beathe a sigh of relief when Samuel is on the mend. Are both Alan jay's eyes affected or just one? Anything they can do?xxx

ISAIDNO - never been but people always recommend Menorca (sp?) for families. Lake Garda in Italy is supposed to be very family friendly too. We are hoping to go on a family crusie in 2011 before Amber starts school - hoping my parents will come along too.

Speaking of which. We got home from the farmon Thursday and couldn't get hold of my parents. Presumed they'd gone to bed - turns out my Mum (she look after people with disabilities) had returned from taking them to the theatre having had a lovely day and slipped on the steps ans cut all her face open . They had to take her to Raigmore - an hour's drive away and give her 14 stitches in her face. Poor soul - she got a right fright and so did my Dad.

I'll post some of the farm photos on FB soon.
Coughing here and Calvin has hives from summat. Scratching his neck and ear so badly it's bleeding. Seems he has my colouring and skin - sensitive. I need to cut labels out of clothes as they drive me mad and put plasters over jean buttons, my bra clips always bug me too!

wee chap is very funny and cute now - he replies to whats sound does a dog/cat/duck/cow/sheep make now and talks to peppa pig in pig language tee hee!

Hope all you preggers ladies are well and everyone else is too.

Wrapped up some parcels this aft and have a Netmums meet this Wed.

Take care all
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

ponto · 16/12/2009 23:02

Hi all, sorry for prolonged silence, have been lurking occasionally but work and Christmas are taking over, also internet connection is playing up again and I haven't got the mental strength to try to get talktalk to fix it.

Rumpel, hope your mum makes a quick recovery. Also your nan Pigley.

Bebe, sorry to hear Phoebe is still not well, is the inhaler helping her?

Disney, your holiday sounds great, hope you all enjoy it. I think your attitude is excellent, worrying about stuff you can't change never helps, you're better off enjoying the moment.

I am finding Bryony a bit of a handful at the moment, she wants my attention all the time and still likes to be carried round when I'm there. She's grabbing stuff all the time too, then abandoning it on the floor, there is a carpet of 'bits' which takes ages to clear up. She violently objects to being told 'no' or having her nappy changed as well, I'm finding it a real challenge to keep my temper with her. On the positive side though, she can speak quite well so I'm usually in no doubt about what she wants!

I dropped Bryony and dd2 off at the toddler group Christmas party with my friend today, then rushed home to have new flooring laid in the bathroom. When I got back to pick them up from the party, my friend said that Bryony had taken one look at Santa and screamed the place down! I hadn't even thought that she might have that reaction, she's usually not bad with strangers. Any of the other babies hating Father Christmas?

JODIEwantsanewname · 17/12/2009 14:29

Just a quicky post while Oli is quiet watching Happy Feet and Sams busy taking all the books off the shelf!

Disney have a great time in Disney

Ponto Sam screamed blue murder anytime Santa came near him (Oliver did too at the same age!)

Pigley Hope your gran in law is OK soon.

It's really snowing here now, Oliver thinks Daddy is going to get stuck in the snow and never come home!

Right, off to make a cup of tea, while peace has desended, for how long I do not know!!!!

Hello to all those pregnant mommas!!
xxxx

Isaidno · 18/12/2009 12:19

Rumpel, have actually been looking at menorca, going to book something in new year.

Ponto - poppy hates nappy changing, I am always fighting to get it on before she gets it iff. She also hates hair washing, but insists on rubbing cheese in her hair at every cheesy opportunity. She is a b*gger with my Christmas tree, and tends to scream at me when she wants something - if only she would learn a few words!! She's lovely the rest of the time!!

Just about ready for Christmas here, just the last bit of wrapping to do. And keep the house tidy...

bebejones · 18/12/2009 13:18

Hello all! Very jealous of people with snow as it is just farking freezing and windy here, horrid!

Nearly ready for Christmas here to. Have finished the wrapping & the tree is up (which P seems to have left alone) Need to find the outside lights to wrap round the porch trellis, I know they are in a box somewhere

Going to ice Christmas cakes this weekend, quite nervous & excited, how sad am I?! Bet they are very intoxicating... might have overdone the brandy!

Ponto - not sure inhaler is doing much TBH, but she doesn't like having the mask on unless we make Darth Vader noises odd child!

P also hates nappy changes & screams & pinches & scratches me when I'm trying to do it! Doesn't do that to DH though.

No reaction to Santa, but not seen a real life one! The tree is 'pretty' apparently. Although most things are 'pretty' at the moment. She likes to point at things and say 'look' and when you are looking she says 'aaaah pretty'. She makes me laugh so much sometimes. Last night in the car, we had a little conversation which went something like this:

P: What's that? (Wassat?)
Me: Those are car headlights
P: Oh
Me: Look Phoebe there's another one
P: Car..........Pretty

Then every car coming the other way for the next 10mins, 'Car, Pretty'

She loves all the Christmas lights on houses, lots of 'Aaaaaaah' noises & 'Oh pretty', funny girl!
