Bebe- we had NO trick or treaters this year at all... so we ate the sweets!

We did have a load of friends round which was nice. Major howling along to Singstar!!
Ate far too much Pizza and crisps but hey.
Didnt get to bed till about 1.30 and then Abigail woke at 6 so rather tired today.

Anyone else still suffering from the clock change?
Abigail had just started sleeping till 7 or 7.30 which was fab but since the clocks it got back to 6am, no matter how late/early we put her to bed. I could really do with that extra hour in the mornings!

Morning all! Have been away on holiday to my sister's for the halfterm week, and you've all reappeared out of the woodwork while I was gone.

Disney, thinking of Sam, you and all your family this week. Hugs and kisses to our boy (well, I only have DDs, so Sam is now a honorary son ).

Can't remember all you've said now. Bebe, hope you're feeling better now, and you can get some energy burned off P. DD1 was so like that, not good at playing on her own etc. I'm like SK - I out them down with a firm No! if they scratch etc, and keep doing it till they get the message. Sometimes with Orliath I just say 'No, you're hurting me' as I think she often doesn't realise it. She likes to stick her hand down my bra when she's tired or hungry or poorly, and she scratches or pinches me without realising. I can't remember if I told you all this, but she stuffed her hand down my bra when we were at the GP's in September, and I said to him that showed she wasn't well as she did it for comfort. He said 'Oh, I thought she was just checking where her next meal was coming from.' At last, a GP who doesn't think BF stops when you introduce solid food! BF has stopped now though, and I'm a bit sad still.....

M2L, all 3 of mine have had the MMR - the original science was not robust, and has been revised since then. However, if you have a family history of autism, then it would be worth looking carefully at the most current research, as this can be a confounding factor.

I'm starting to get a little of you on FB - you lot are probably the only thing that could convince me that it is not the work of Satan, as I'd love to see all your photos etc on there. However, I am not convinced that I am computer-savvy enough to keep it private, so I'll stay off for now.

best go do some work - loads to do after a week off, and no inclination to do it....

PS mcchesers, my DDs are at their childminder from 08:00 to 17:30 4 days a week, so I'll join you in the Bad Mummy corner.....

I had my scan this morning. All seems well, Just have to wait for the results of the combined test.
My EDD is still the same as Baby seems the right sizes for my dates. (19th)
Little monkey was laying with its arm up by its head so the lady had trouble getting the neck reading- Cue plenty of jiggling about, laying on my side and prodding with the scanner!

Abigail was a wriggly monkey during the scan and DH had his work cut out trying to calm her! Sweet though as she was saying baby at the screen. Also saying the names of the family... Mummy, Dadda, Abigail, Peppa !! Sorry but Peppa is NOT on the baby name short list!

Finally feels more real now and Official!!

Disney- You are in our thoughts this week

Just popping on to say congrats Pigley - scan pics look lovely!

Hoping that Disney & little Sam are ok, you have been on my mind all day. Sending lots of love!

disneystar1 · 03/11/2009 21:31

hi all, quick post,

had a very tiring day and it took a lot out of sam hes very bruised and been poked around with needles most of the day, had so many tests done,

tomorrow hes admitted till they operate thursday morning, then he gets moved to PHDU

i was a bit stressed today and the nurse kept coming in saying oh samuel needs another lot of bloods done,
me = why didnt you do it earlier
her= oh i forgot
i got real pissed with her and said its traumatic enough for him without your incompetance.... not me at all,

hes sleeping now peacefully and for that im happy,

dh gone to tesco to get bread t bags ect... to take tomorrow for our little shared kitchen box,
im packing a case for us all and sams ward bag and loads of meds

he starts all his new meds tomorrow massive steroids by IV, (like you now bebe)

this is supposed to minismise the face swelling a bit and keep the pressure of the brain.

boy im tired here and tbh a bit weepy, im on my own upstairs all boys asleep and ive had a bit of a cry,
i was a bit of a brat today with the nurse she said i had to go to PHDU tomorrow to see his bed and equipment and i said nope im not going i cant deal with it, just let me do it when it happens, i refuse to look at pics or after wards, i also refused to speak with the surgeon, he has to tell us exactly what hes going to do, i already know and dh is going to be there just i wont il be with samuel somewhere
she insists i have to be there and was quite bossy really, i said if i wasnt here and was looking after the boys at home then dh would have to do......i do not need crabby nurses thowing there weight around, she also said the 3 boys coudnt be there and could someone look after them, especially my wheelchairbound son, i said no theres no one which is true......they were not happy or rather she wasnt.

anyway was supposed to be a shorty... well tomorrows another day i guess

disneystar1 · 03/11/2009 21:34

pigley well done on the scan, you guys sound real happy and Abigail sounds so adorable, and why not Peppa indeed

you are going to have 2 wriggly monkeys now

thanks to you all on here for caring it really does help ...XXXX

bebejones · 05/11/2009 10:55

Disney - saw on fb that things have been delayed. So sorry, I hope it all gets sorted out asap and that DS & Sam get better quickly, sending lots of love to all the Disney family x

Last few days P has been developing her running on the spot skills! She does it for dancing & also when she gets very excitable, it's so sweet! P's molars are starting to come out properly now & her gums look so red & sore. Been having restless nights but sleeping in til 8-8:30 though!

Feeling so tired at the moment, am assuming it's just the MS relapse. I am improving though, hoping to drive this weekend which will be the best birthday present!

JODIEwantsanewname · 06/11/2009 14:56

Hi guys, it's gone quiet again!! (I keep forgetting about MN, I get most of your news on FB )

Disney So sorry to hear about the op, hope it gets organised again soon.

bebe Sam runs on the spot too, he also loves walking backwards as far as he can and then 'charging'!!! It's so funny!

I'm having a great old time of it hear Sam has got into all Olivers toy cars, he lovesthem, the problem is, so does Oliver!!! cue tantrums and tears and screams (from both of them!) good times!!!! It drives me mad (No pun intended!)

sweetkitty · 07/11/2009 20:43

This thread had dropped off my active convos again.

All is well here, think the MS is easing a bit. B is turning into such a clingy little lady, she has to be in the same room as me always and likes to be sitting on me preferably. DP cannot even cuddle me now she goes nuts and pushes him away, and her other latest thing is to tell her sisters off complete with pointing finger. Oh she is a madam for sure.

Disney - sorry to hear about the op being postponed, suppose with these things you want to get everything over and done with, when is the new date?

Pigley - think I have said but yey to the scan so know what you mean about it being real now

Jodie - so it begins............ your life is now that of a referee, thing is they will probably fight a lot but when they are apart miss each other like mad!

Anyone else sorted for Christmas? I nearly am but it's so difficult as 1) we have loads of stuff anyway as you can imagine and 2) we are very short of space have got B a first Peppa Pig pram and talking Peppa, some FP stuff, tea set, piggybank, talking Upsy daisy then realised that everything I have got her makes a noise - rookie error that one I think. Will get her some new books she adores her books.

JODIEwantsanewname · 08/11/2009 07:52

SK, glad to hear you are feeling better! Have you had many of the 'original' comments yet? (you know, are you trying for a boy? you'll have your handsful etc etc!)

Disney sorry to hear about DH's job I truely believe that everything happens for a reason and it will all turn out for the best in the long run. I know that doesn't help at the moment, but I suppose I'm just saying, keep your chin up, you ARE supermum/superwife. We are here to rant to if needed.

I'm not in the least bit organised for christmas, I know what I;m getting the boys, Oliver is getting a big garage with some die cast cars (and some Lightning Mcqueen stuff) and Sam is getting a Happy people (I think) construction set from ELC, then I'll just take some money to Tesco and get some stocking fillers, they do activity books for £2 and Disney DVD's for £6, clothes are dead cheap too, so great for all of my friends kids too. God knows what DH is getting, he's off skiing in Feb, so maybe his lift pass or something, or he has a hankering for some Ski lessons (where he will learn to do tricks!) so I might look into that.

My mum is coming on Tues, I can't wait, she's coming really to look after the kids while DH and I go off to Cornwall for the weekend! We've been having abit of a rough time of it recently, with me working all hours and he's had alot on too, we've been really snappy with each other and last week I was seriously thinking about leaving. It wasn't very nice. Anyway, after talking to my MIL, and having abit of a weep, she talked some sense into me and I think she's had a word with DH as he's been nice since then!! (my MIL is ace!)

Anyway, better go and do some brekkie for te boys...

Poledra · 08/11/2009 13:56

Oh Jodie, I've been there so many times (the wondering if it would actually be easier on your own). Glad you're MIL is so good (mine is a star too ) and that your mum's coming soon.

I've been there again recently, but it's not really DH's fault - he's crocked his back and cannot do very much at all, so I'm effectively a single parent (though I suppose I can at least run out to the shops when they're all in bed etc so it's not as hard as for genuine single parents). The thing that does make me mad is that he struggled onto work for the beginning of the week (with me driving him in which made me later for work and I had stacks of stuff to do) then it all ends up 10x worse than it needs to be. He only actually started taking anti-inflammatories yesterday because I went and got them out the medicine cabinet and threw them at him! In the meantime, I'm having a course of orthodontic treatment so am feeling a little shabby at times myself, but that doesn't count of course. Oh no, I'm getting into competitive ailments and we're nowhere near retired yet!

Disney what's happening with Sam? When's the new op date? And what's happened with your DH's job?

SK, glad you're feeling a bit better.

Totally disorganised for Christmas in some ways, and completely organised in others I'm a bit of a foodie, so I have my menus organised and know exactly what I need to get and when. I have a chest freezer this year, and it's going to make things soooo much easier. I know what we're getting DDs 1 and 2, but have no ideas for Orlaith - we have so much pink fluffy crap toys I don't know what else we could possibly have! I think I'll need to go to the independent toy shop in the city near us and see what they have - it'll be a bit more expensive, but the stuff is lovely and totally different to what you find elsewhere.

Best go, DD1 is upstairs playing on the laptop with DH (lying down on our bed), DD2 is watching Tinkerbell on DVD and Orlaith is wrecking the place! We did spend all morning outside raking up leaves and putting all the garden toys and furniture into the garage for the winter, so I think we're due a lazy afternoon. Cheers all!

pigleychez · 08/11/2009 14:23

hello all,

Disney- How annoying! You get yourself all mentally prepared and it gets delayed! Fingers crossed the boys are well soon and the operation happens.

SK- Abigail too has become a bit of a Mummys girl lately too. Cute but slightly annoying.

re christmas- Im kinda organsied. Got most of Abigail presents and they are already wrapped.Keep seeing som much other stuff i know she would like but have bought far to much already. She has lots of night garden stuff, aquadraw, puzzles, pjs, Peppa pig rucksack and toys,Fisher price ark to name a few! Still need to get little bits to fill her stocking though. Got about 75% of the other peoples gifts and they are mostly wrapped too!
Havent decided what we are doing for xmas at the mo..ie which parents for xmas dinner..Both are currently putting in thier pleas and making us feel guilty!

Jodie-Enjoy your weekend away! Sounds like it just what you both need

Poledra- Hope dh's back gets better soon- for both your sakes

Had some small fireworks in the garden yesterday which Abigail liked- Calling them pretty.

Been busy pulling apart the old fireplace, which ended up with us taking half the wall off and a huge chunk of concrete floor up!
DH hates me pregnant as that is when I seem to be at my worst for wanting things redecorated\changed. Well I want a nice front room to go with our new sofa when it comes!

OP posts:
bebejones · 09/11/2009 07:45

Birthday over so am now feeling all festive! Have got probably 90% of presents sorted. Bought presents for P this weekend, Tesco were doing 3 for 2 on toys so got some bargains! Have got her a talking Macca Pacca (her favourite) and a Ninky Nonk and Aquadraw, & a wooden activity cube. Got her some clothes & boots too, just need to get stocking fillers! So excited this year as she will be able to enjoy all the goings on. Christmas is my favourite time of year I'm the biggest kid of all!

My mum & grandma bought me a Digital SLR for my birthday so am enjoying learning how to use that. Might take a while it is v v complicated! Think I might be using automatic mode for a while! Also been given tonnes of chocolate, including some yummy Mon Cheri ones which are like eating chocolate & knocking back a shot at the same time!!

We went to PIL for some fireworks yesterday evening & P really enjoyed them! She was hissing at the little fizzy/hissy ones & then shouting 'bang' at them & copying us all saying 'aaaaaaah pretty'! Was a really nice end to the day!

Disney - So sorry about your DH's job, how are your boys doing with the swine flu? Any news on Sams op? x

Pigley - sounds like extreme nesting to me hope you were just sitting back and overseeing the works!!

Jodie - enjoy your time away sounds lovely!

Poledra - hope you had a lovely lazy afternoon

SK - glad the ms is easing!

Isaidno · 09/11/2009 10:05

bebe - glad you had nice bday.
jodie - they might fight now but soon they will be best buddies.
disney - hope you get the go ahead for Sam's op soon.

re christmas - we are pretty organised because this year we are being sensible. Our house already has more toys than argos so we have only bought..
ds1 - new bike, etch a sketch, guitar hero ds game, book
ds2 - nintendo ds (pre owned), wrestling dvds, mini etch a sketch, book
Poppy - scuttlebug, cheapy toy pram, cuddly pony, night garden mini cuddlies.
They will also get a stocking containing sweets and a few little bits. I have knitted Poppy a jacket and hopefully will have knitted scarves for the boys.

For everyone else we have got a few things already, and I am making lots of gifts this year - things like scarves, marmalade, fudge etc.

Is anyone else still bfing? Poppy is just coming up to 17mths and shows no sign of giving up! Not that I'm bothered - she's my last baby and it will be no bf ever again when she stops and I will def feel a bit about that.

cass66 · 09/11/2009 12:36

Well done organised ladies. I have done NO xmas shopping and have no ideas for most people. DD1 wants her own DS (she uses mine more than I do!!!), DD2 wants some polly pocket stuff. Our extnsion starts today, they're digging as we speak....so that's 4 months of mess and dust and a full house de-clutter, so no enthusiasm for xmas here. I need to go through the toys (my house is a branch of toyrus) and throw most of them away.....without the girls knowing, of course!!!

Must go and either sort, de-clutter or wash up..... Cass

disneystar1 · 11/11/2009 09:05

hi guys,

well samuels op has been delayed until approx early january, yes it was terrible, they let me sleep in his ward (which i would do anyway)
we had a private room and samuel and me co slept with him in my arms all night, as you know with the nature of the op, there was a 25% chance he would not pull through,
i guess you can imagine, i think i cried all night long stroking his hair and just looking at him my god it was an awful night

i really toyed with the idea of dressing him and running away, but i knew deep down i couldnt, so morning of op
did his pre op obs and he failed them high temp enlarged pupils, surgeon came round and said the op was too risky to chance anything else
all that build up, dont get me wrong i was happy in a way but we know samuel is running out of time i said this to him , he assured me with a cuddle he will not let that happen, hes a wonderful plastic surgeon, and has my full faith.
neurology team was closing sams ward as 2 cases of swine flu were there , im glad to say today hes on the mend.......

dh,s job, well he got laid off , but the other night driver jacked it in (hes 66) so strangely Alan went back on his terms though, crappy payers though 4 pays in 7 weeks now.....im on the case all the time.

christmas presents
3 are older so different

ds4 ben 10 puzzle ball, elec guess who, ds game, maybe 1 other thing
ds5, ben 10 figures, walkie talkies, star wars monopoly,
ds6, lego superpack,lego lorry,gator golf,
samuel (ds7)little people farm and little people ark, toddler bowling game (hel love it)

but weve already paid ages ago to go to disneyland paris for christmas were having dinner with mickey, etc....we come home christmas eve...weve already ordered the meat and normal hamper , ive made the childrens christmas crackers (got to do ours yet)
we make our own paper chains, so nearly done here too

want to say thank you honestly, without you helping me giving me strength i would be more of a wreck than normal.....thank you so much for caring xxxx

bebejones · 12/11/2009 09:20

Disney - so sorry that you had the massive stress of the build up to the op only for it not to happen. Hope Sam is feeling better. At least you have a lovely Christmas planned for you all, hope you all really enjoy it, you deserve it. x

Best go, P is enjoying her new game of throwing herself head first off the sofa onto her beanbag! My heart is in my mouth!!!

disneystar1 · 12/11/2009 11:37

bebe that girl of yours shows no fear does she she will be climbing trees and all sorts, samuel is scared of the slide in the park still....

bebejones · 12/11/2009 13:05

Nope she has no fear at all not sure if it's a good thing or not! She even laughs when you make her jump saying 'boo', apparently the more she jumps the funnier it is, strange child!!
