Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
disneystar1 · 23/10/2009 21:19

pigley back to back kind of explains the pains were more intense, i had a very good chat after dannys birth pre samuel and so much made sense and that i was really panicking and worrying over nothing.

my 2nd birth was 50 mins start to finish . but i was told its easier 2nd time around,

minniemummy lovely news on the scan ooooh this is exciting i love reading all about these new bubbas coming,

very tired here tonight, bit of a heated argument with dh tonight, work rang him and he went despite he doesnt get paid to go in early, (when they actualy pay him anyway)

he knows he needs to help me cook dinner i cant lift saucepans or make a fist/clench my right hand so its hard cooking on my own.

he went to work and left me to it, i said its not on he knows my limitations and he was really abrupt with me, very unlike himself, he knew he upset me and i just said oh just go leave me alone.

he has since apologised and said he feels so bad for doing it, hence the remarks on FB

i know he has stress too with the op looming but its unfair the way he can walk out to work 2 hours early to have space, i cant , and i wouldnt
strange how priorites are when the old saying is a man can walk away but a woman is a mother for life.

minipinkscottish · 24/10/2009 07:40

Old saying is spot onn disney My dh always storms off to stew when there is a row...leaves me to deal with everything....they can be so inconsiderate but I think it's just their way of coping....men can't help being wired differently and of course being inferior to woman

disneystar1 · 25/10/2009 14:14

i think this thread is winding down and that would be a shame

c,mon ladies get posting just say HI

minipinkscottish · 25/10/2009 14:33

I'm here disney...maybe it's just all us more mature mums who will be left...sniff sniff....everyone else too busy make more babies

Back to work tomorrow....yippeeeeeeeeee!!(mininpink jumps up and down with excitement).....then I will have my days off and they will be just for me...well me and really lo's

disneystar1 · 25/10/2009 16:41

hi mini

yes looks like its me and you for the time being

good luck on the work tomorrow have fun x

pigleychez · 25/10/2009 17:18

Im here!

mini-Enjoy work tomorrow.

Minnie- Glad the scan went well.. only one lol!
Glad things at work have seemed to work out for the best. Good luck for the pampered chef parties

Managed to get lots more xmas shoppping done sat, bought the wrapping paper, bows etc so im doing well.
Went out for dinner and Abigail was coo'd all over! She of course loves the attention! Lots of comments on how well she behaves at the table and how cute she is.[proud mummy emotion]

Been out looking for a new Sofa today. Saw a few we liked and are just working out how far we can stretch the budget as the ones we really liked were the mega expensive ones of course! Cant beleive how long they take for delivery too!

Abigail better learn about the clocks soon! She was up at 5.30 this morning so it feels a very long day! Hate the way its dark already and only just gone 5.
Well Abigails new trick is to walk backwards everywhere. Quite funny till she trips over something or walks into the door frame and then theres tears. She can also now undress herself! When I went to get her after her nap I was greeted with a stripped baby. Top and trousers thrown out of the cot on the floor

Hope everyones well

bebejones · 25/10/2009 18:21

I'm here too, just been feeling yuk so not been posting! Hope everyone is ok? I am just coming out of the worst of the steroid effects now, so hopefully will start to feel the benefit soon!

Pigley - very funny about the undressing, P likes to pull her arms out of her sleeves but doesn't take stuff off (except for bibs). How are you feeling? Has the MS still 'got you'?

Disney - I'm not going anywhere!

P has been enjoying screeching at Meerkat Manor on the telly this evening. She was so exicited very cute! She likes spinning around in circles until she gets dizzy and falls over & laughs, weird child! Trying to find a good pumpkin pie recipe to use the pumpkin in next weekend. Always get cross about throwing it out!! Any suggestions?

Rumpel · 25/10/2009 19:22

Hi all - sorry been busy here. BEBE and MINI - have you thought about acupuncture or reflexology? Really fab for pain relief and MINI - aloe vera juice is FANTASTIC for any kind of inflammatory condition. If I lived nearer you all I'd come give you some hands on - you too DISNEY!

I am in DD Amber starts pre-school this week - can't happen a moment too soon as she is a wee Madama t the mo' grrr and I need some space - really do not know how you lot with lots of DCs manage to cope! Finding it a real struggle too as DH is just always at work or studying - hard for him too but it means it is just me looking after the kids the majority of the time.

I have a co-ordinator for Homstart coming to meet me next week to see about helping me out - they are a voluntary agency with Mums (trained) who come out and give you a wee bit of help once a week. Couple of hours to 'do' things or go out with you and the kids. Not sure if I'll need it now that A is off to pre-school but I always thing best to meet and you can pass ont he info to other Mums.

Had my first day of private lecturing last Thurs - went really well. I was a bit nervous but the 2 ladies wee lovely and they said they had the best day they had had for ages and gave me some really + and ego warming feedback . Plus I got asked if I was over 25 in m&S yesteday buying wine poor girl must have had a long day!

Glad you pg ladies are okay(ish) and am very feeling quite broody at the mo' but there is no way with Al's studying etc.

PIGLEY - your A is obviously destined to be a very very intellectual lady!

DISNEY - can't believe Sam goes in for his pre op so soon - has flown in. You must be depserate to get it over with but dreading it too - horrible mixed emotions. He is a brave and amazing wee man and will come out the other side with even more strength - you wait and see - we are all thining of you and collective thoughts = positive vibes = great energy = positive outcome. it will be hard but he chose you two to be his parents for a very good reason or he wouldn't be here in the first place {{{ }}}.

Must go have a bath.

take care all
xxxxxxxx

sweetkitty · 25/10/2009 20:37

I'm still here this thread dropped off my active convos.

Feeling very rubbish and sorry for myself, have stinking cough and cold and with the MS am just plain miserable. Feel so so tired all the time too like that tired through to your bones tired that no amount of sleep will get rid off, still the joys and all that.

Rumpel - well done on the lecturing. Is that A starting nursery she's 3 now isn't she? I am still in shock from DD1 going to school this year and DD2 will be joining her next year although think I won't be bored somehow.

pigley - word of warning with expensive sofa and 2 young DCs it will be wrecked, it's my furniture the wooden stuff it's all dents and scratches and the walls are always needing cleaned below about 3ft. Bethany just copies the older two all the time, she hates it when they disappear upstairs, she pulls me towards the baby gate to open it for her, she tries herself and screams. She screams a lot if things aren't going her way, if you tell her NO or take anything off her, I thought 2 was tantrum time not 15 months. I mean proper lying on the floor tantrums with tears oh and she's picks up toys and throws them at me and comes up and hits me

bebe - hope the steroids work for you soon, don't try and do to much remember you need rest too

disney - men eh? Your all under a lot of stress just now, is DH taking some time off to care for your other LOs whilst you are at the hospital with Samuel? Do you get any sort of respite care for them at all?

minniemummy - great news on the scan

M2L - 10 weeks already wow, my advice is do whatever you can to get the most sleep and whatever makes life easier for you, sleep training/routines and all that can wait, I found trying not to stress and just go with the flow works best when they are that little oh and sod the housework.

Right mammoth post am off to bed now hopefully will wake up feeling a little better

disneystar1 · 25/10/2009 21:28

awww sk your having a rough time right now, yes go get some sleep and hope you really do feel a lot better, your B always makes me laugh she sounds so strong spirited , hey a good quality in a girl,

also dh and all the other boys are coming to the hospital too, we have a ronald mcdonald room/accomadation above the ward, toy room and kitchen etc......

i cant do it alone i need them there too, hopefully he can take the boys back after a while but i think were playing it by ear, i cant plan, not till its over,

rumpel you said it exactly, your always spot on lady,

samuels op before and after will be on FB in videos and pictures so please think before you look as it may be distressing to you.

well this time next week we will be packed ready to go

JODIEwantsanewname · 26/10/2009 00:21

Just to say Hi...

Been really busy with work and I have been lurking

Disney big hugs for you and Sam

Rumpel Well done you!

Pigley I second SK, watch the sofa, ours is wrecked! No matter how good you promise you'll be, it won't last!! But Sam likes undressing too, I went up to get him the other day and he had stripped naked (even nappy) and had done a big poo in the cot That was pleasant!

SK Sam has tantrums now, and wants to do what Oli is doing, he even tantrums when I leave Oli at Pre-school and he wants to stay, come January he can as he'll be 18 months then!

Hope every one else is OK

bebejones · 26/10/2009 08:17

SK - so with you on the tantrums! P has become much more a toddler over the last week she just seems so much older But Oh MY GOD can she throw a wobbly when she doesn't get her own way, screaming kicking, scratching, biting!!! I think alot of it is frustration but she has an awful temper!

Trying to take it easy but DH has gone to work for meetings this morning. It's nice to have a break from each other actually, I don't mean that in a nasty way but we have been living in each others pockets for months! Yesterday I don't think I have ever wanted to slap him so much! Moaning on and on and on about a sore throat! Just thought 'get a grip I can hardly walk'!! Sounds really mean of me but it was doing my head in! But as usual I kept quiet & just let him whinge! Men eh?!

disneystar1 · 26/10/2009 08:20

bebe i had to laugh yes men indeed,

bebejones · 26/10/2009 15:59

What size pumpkin will produce 1lb of cooked flesh?! Any ideas?

sweetkitty · 26/10/2009 17:52

bebe - haven't a clue, I usually just compost the flesh, you are very good. Poor men eh? they don't have it easy

bebejones · 26/10/2009 20:03

Think I might have to just shoot from the hip & hope I have enough then! Not much of a one for precise quantities/recipes etc! We are trying to be more conscious of what we throw away, so that's why I am going to try & use the pumpkin this year rather than waste it! It is food after all!

disneystar1 · 26/10/2009 21:00

good idea bebe , i always use my pumpkin flesh, but im a great lover of all squashes.

i always use leftovers like stale bread into bread and butter pudding
too old bananas into muffins for school
too many tomatoes (i have loads right now) after harvesting them, for soups and sauces which freeze well
hard cheese into cheese twisty straws (goes with the tomato soup)
left over veg pop it into a bit of puff pastry and youve got lovely pies
oh i could go on and on, especially potatoes
i grow all our own veg and some fruit here,
and order organic when im low, we only eat fruits which are in season so they dont get boring and i get quite excited when a new season apears, bramley apples are just finishing now, so i got loads of apple recipes in the freezer, saves stacks of money and better for you

ok thats my eco friendly rant over for the day

samuels being a right monkey at the moment he will not lie down in his cot oh no he thinks a little whinge and a moan is going to get him in here, little does my lad realise hes the last of 7 and ive seen and done these tricks before,
im in and out , no samuel sleep
repeat approx 20 times he gets the idea, but leaves me drained,
uh oh were of of again

night all xxxx

pigleychez · 27/10/2009 09:58

Bebe- good luck with the cooking

Re sofa- Thanks for the comments. Although we would love one of the lovely mega expensive ones we do understand that with 2 DC it wont stay lovely for very long!
We are thinking of something nice but not too expensive but of a decent quality and comfort.

DH plays poker online for a hobby. He does pretty well and has been known to win some biggish tournaments and win a few hundred quid. Well last night he won a big one and has pocketed 3 Grand!!
So thats the new sofa paid for!! We were also thinking of a new front door so can start looking at those now too.
So nice to have that bit of unexpected money!

Toddler group this morning then have a major list of odd jobs to do.
We have 8 friends round for the weekend ,so need to clear the spare room and get the futon out. None of them know about baby2 yet so will just watch thier faces when they come in and clock the bump!

Also got our new curtains being delivered this afternoon and table and chairs coming tomorrow morning so need to clear the old table out in readyness. Busy busy!

OP posts:
bebejones · 27/10/2009 10:51

Pigley - thats a big win!!! Well done your DH! DH won £400 on football a while back, he does silly 50p/£1 sweepstakes bets. We were 1 result off £40,000! Gutted is not the word!

Has anyone else had ovulation pain? I never used to before P but last few months it has been really bad. I know I am def ov so thats what it is but it's so painful for a day or 2! No idea why it's started now, I mean I was ov before or I wouldn't have P!! Just wondered if anyone else had had this or had it get worse after DC?

disneystar1 · 27/10/2009 11:02

well done mr pigley,

bebe i always get a sharp pain in the side of my tummy, i take a few painkillers or have a hot bath, hot water bottle if needed.

mcchesers · 27/10/2009 16:36

Hello All,

Feeling oh so much better today. baby was being a monkey today and hiding from the doppler. Talk about heart attack..he was hiding down low..but all is fine and on track.

let me get back to you Aidan is moaning for snacks. I'll be back in a bit to catch up.

disneystar1 · 27/10/2009 20:42

i bet you held your breath for a minute there, yep a total monkey but real glad all is ok with you both x

JesusChristOtterStar · 27/10/2009 20:46

Yes i am so with you all on the tantrum thing . Nettles has become a little feisty one and can go 'boneless' at the slightest thing

he has however also become a very loving very eye contactful and tactile boy - soooo nuzzley and loving that he is quite taking my breath away

pigley wow at your bump so early - i swear i have never yet 'shown' till 20-24 weeks so depressing no one looks after you

bebjones i have never known what 'from the hip' meant????

JODIEwantsanewname · 27/10/2009 21:35

Good to hear from you Otter been a long time!

Bebe I have shooting pains in my side too, hot bath and a hot water bottle does wonders!

minnie How you getting on with PC?

McChesers Glad everything went OK. Any pics???

PIgley Wow, thats a nice windfall just before christmas!
