Thanks for all the kind and supportive words of wisdom!! I'm really freaked out by the whole thing. Just read so many negative things and scared myself.....think I have 'googleitis'! Not needle phobic at all when it's someone else doing the needling...DH useless and major phobic! Just need to weigh it all up alot to take in. Didn't expect to be going down this route so soon after diagnosis!

disneystar1 · 17/10/2009 09:50

minipinkscottish · 17/10/2009 15:27

I was still in pj's at 11.30 this morning.....it's great to have days like that disney

bebe...gosh you're having such a hard time...hope you find a way forward soon and get that bfp

Well I am feeling all broody again but trying to ignore it...know it's not realistic to think about another baby....too old....no space...and no money....and my ds2 would be mortified

Going to go and eat something I shouldn't.....chocolate

sweetkitty · 18/10/2009 11:27

Brrr it's cold today, having a chilling out home day, still feeling a bit rough. Have been totally spoiled this past week with DP being off and no school/nursery runs, will struggle this week for sure.

bebe - no words of advice, you have had some good advice on here already just wanted to say that I am thinking of you xx

Disney - thinking of you and Samuel too, just think forward to Christmas and how relieved you will be when it is all over and he is fine x

ponto · 18/10/2009 23:19

Hello, I have been lurking but Disney your comments have made me post.

Bebe, you're obviously in a difficult position at the moment, apart from the way the drugs are given, do you know much about benefits and side-effects etc? Like Disney says, if you have to have regular injections, you do get used to them, but it's easy to get hung up on it being an injection and not think about the other pros and cons.

SK, good luck with the school runs this week, I am feeling worn out too (and no I'm not pg), bring on half term!

Pigley, I have been admiring your talented child on FB!

Minipink, can't believe you are feeling broody again! Have you told your dh?

All is well with us, Bryony is trying hard with her talking at the moment, she chatters non-stop but I understand less than 10% of it. She gets really frustrated! And even when I do understand, she has no patience, I have to get her what she wants straight away or there are screams! The other day she was sitting in her highchair and had finished her tea so shouted 'down', I did not reach her in the next 2 seconds so she was off, shouting 'down, down, down, GET DOWN' at which point I managed to get her straps off and put her on the floor. 'Boing!' she says.

Must go to bed, I am feeling very tired, did the first run in the 'couch to 5k' running programme tonight [proud emoticon]

disneystar1 · 19/10/2009 09:00

pigleychez · 19/10/2009 11:26

Hello,

Loving the halloween smilies

Minipink- broody?? Go on! Whats one more!

Ponto- Well done on the running programme.

disney- Well done Sam!

My god how the weather has changed here.. Its freezing!!!

Had a lovely day yesterday with family. Went out for a meal for DH's nans birthday. However when MIL booked the meal they forgot to tell us that they dont have highchairs and had just left a space at the table for one.- Very helpful!
Abigail was really good and sat on a normal chair quite well. Thankfully she wasnt too low at the table either. Its was funny watching DH finding someway of try to stop her slipping down. We ended up using her walking wrist strip thingy and a muslin tied together to make a kind of harness! Very inventive!

No swimming lessons this week due to half term. Was going to take Abigail this morning anyway to the local pool but she seemed so sleepy and went back down to sleep at 10.
Maybe this afternoon then.

Really should be doing some housework but cant seem to find the enthusiasm to so it!

pigleychez · 19/10/2009 11:29

Mean to add a funny story from yesterday.

After the meal I put Abigail to sleep in DH's old bedroom at MIL's. ( duvet on the floor).
Been asleep for a while and went to check on her. Little monkey had woken up, pulled off half the books of the shelf and was sitting in MIL's empty wash basket playing with DH's old teddy from when he was a child. Very sweet!

disneystar1 · 19/10/2009 13:37

awww bless her , there so amazing arnt they and just always a wonder with there new antics....

pigley have you seen those highchairs in a bag, its really cool as it just slips over the back of the high bit and they sit in like a kind of pouch, there like a pac a mac i cant do links but il have a go in a bit

samuel has a trolley cover so i just pop it over the trolley seat and he sits in it and no nasty germs where the kids always want to lick or chew the trolley bar, its also a highchair cover when we go out again il try to do a link.....i said try

ikea today we got our 2 huge bookshelves to ontop of our entertainment unit, as were book fanatics here

got samuel a new duvet and cover and safety pillow ( im always afraid to use even a baby pillow) does anyone else use them yet?

some lovely warm flanalette sheets as he was so cold last night i had to put the heating on for him

lamps and went a bit mad in the kiddy bedroom department
pigley i swear i saw all Abigails bedroom in there

bebejones · 19/10/2009 16:23

Well I'm having my steroids 2moro, weds & thurs!! But i do get to come home and feel crap in my own bed each night. Not looking forward to that, but at least it should help things get better quickly!

Friend of ours had a baby girl last week, she is so cute & really tiny (5lb 14oz) with loads of bright blonde hair! Have given her loads of P's small stuff and still have 5 boxes full of clothes that she no longer wears! So so so broody but DH and I have decided to wait til next summer to TTC, gutted but for the best all round! Am counting down the days!!

Pigley - bless A entertaining herself like that little monkey!

P has just started singing & snorting with Peppa Pig, she thinks she is hilarious! British Gas came to service the boiler & we had 3 of them in our kitchen...P was so nosy and kept wandering out to keep an eye on them, and flirt outrageously!!

Got lots of cooking plans this week, hope I feel up to it!! Christmas cake, mincemeat, Christmas puddings & Phoebe food to make!

MinnieMummy · 19/10/2009 21:04

Hello all, apologies for having been away so long, promise I haven't left you for the 'due in may' thread, I've hardly posted there either. I've had a lot of freelance work lately plus have been so, so knackered (how DO you ladies with three plus manage it??!) and to top it all off we're gearing up to our restructure happening which has made work just horrible. I had my interview for my own job today, couldn't really say how it went, I have no idea what they are looking for. We find out either tomorrow or weds who goes and who stays, I honestly don't know if I want it or not - on the one hand being pregnant the maternity leave would be good but I think it would be quite stressful between now and then, on the other redundancy might well do nicely. Que sera, sera!
Enough of my moaning, sorry! Poppy still not walking here, she's sort of stayed being able to do what she could a month ago. I think my kids are lazy have a relaxed attitude to physical exertion. No idea where they get that from
I was quite impressed at P spontaneously saying 'bye-bye' this morning until I read how much yours are all chatting away!!

disneystar1 · 20/10/2009 13:52

minniemummy well done to P at saying bye bye, samuel doesnt say hardly anything,

his new thing is pointing and going uh so we look left and his pointy finger is there and he says uh he looks right out come the finger i think uh means look, but its wonderfull.

we got him a vtech walker for christmas, he cant stand properly yet or pull himself up and he has his operation in between so i think it may be a good time for him to have one.

so cold here today though winter has def arrived for sure.

bebejones · 20/10/2009 20:04

Disney - it is freezing and horrid here today completely agree!

Had 1st lot of steroids today, took longer to put canula (sp) in my arm than to have drip!! Feel like a pin cushion! Still got it in arm now & other arm is bruised from all the 'attempts' so can't pick P up!

Minnie - well done to P! My P goes through phases where she won't 'talk' hardly at all one week then the next week she comes out with a dozen new words! She'll probably surprise you when you least expect it!!

Hope all the other PG people are doing ok, must go eat dinner.....pizza a treat as I am poorly

disneystar1 · 20/10/2009 20:22

you have your pizza bebe you def deserve it, bless you, have a good night x

pigleychez · 21/10/2009 09:29

Minniemum-
let us know how it goes with your job. Well done P on the bye bye

Bebe- hope the setriods are going ok. Thinking if you.

Feeling very run down at the mo. Ive now got a cold sore which I always get when run down and they just make me feel 10 X worse and so self concoius!
Abigails been really whingey this week. Guessing its teeth as she seems fine , ie no colds or anything. No obvious signs of teeth though. Shes been unsettled at night too which doesnt help my tiredness.
last night we went down ok at 8 but was awake again at 11.30 and we couldnt get her to go down again till 3am this morning. She was just really whingey and wouldnt settle at all. Gave her calpol which seemed to send her off in the end. Only got 4 hours last night in the end as she wake again at 7. [yawn]

Horrible dull, rainy day here so im going to hibernate today as I have nothing planned expect housework.

OP posts:
minipinkscottish · 22/10/2009 09:04

Morning all .....yawn!! Really tired today. Abbie has been up during night a lot lately and last night was up at 12.30 till 1.15am then 3.30 till 4.30am and then I had to get up at 5.40 to take ds1 to early swim training and by the time I got back dh was ready to go to work and lo's were all up. AND it's raining AGAIN....will need to think of some good quiet indoor games.

Don't think I've said before about my sore hips...been going on for years really since dd1 - nearly 7 years...usually mild discomfort except in pg when it was quite intense.....anyway since having Abbie it has not gotten better and in last few months is often so painful I am reduced to tears DH eventually persuaded me to go to docs yeasterday after my leg gave way while trying to pick Abbie up I had been putting off going as I don't like to make a fuss and I honestly though arthritis.....Anyway seems it is most likely chronic bursitis, an inflammation of the fluid filled sacs in the bursae joints [near the bum bone] I am relieved it is probably not arthritis but I may not be rid of this for some time if at all...I have anti-inflammatry drugs for a months and then may need to have some fluid extracted from joint and have xrays..then maybe cortisonne injections and/or steroids......feeling a bit low and old I had been going to gym and walking a lot thinking I would be making hip stronger and therefore self curing...seems I have probably been making it worse

Never mind back to work on Monday and I can't wait...I know I'm mad but I really love my new job
Sorry for long me post ....hope everyone is doing ok and pg ladies are feeling well. xxxxxxxxxx

mama2leah · 22/10/2009 09:19

hiya all...i have been lurking. i hope all your pregnants ones are feeling ok, how you sk? how you feeling? with 3 to look after...

leah- is walking, has teeth, and become oh so fussy..nigh times are a nightmare..im surviving on very little sleep

aaishah- well, is awake 5-6 times at night for a feed, not co-sleeping but very very tempted to...10 weeks old, does'nt time go fast....

bebejones · 22/10/2009 09:59

MiniPink - poor you! Hopefully the meds will sort things out sounds very sore ((((hugs)))

M2L - don't know how you do it 2 under 2 & precious little sleep!! Be proud of yourself!

3rd (and last) day of steroids today, can't wait to get cannula out of my arm & pick P up for a big hug!! Feeling pretty crap, just really flu like. Its such a massive does, 1g a day, which doesn't sound alot but most medications are in mg or less! Also I know I'll feel even worse next few days as your body starts to go into withdrawl & your blood sugar plummets! (Which I am going to use as an excuse to eat lots of cake!!) Just got to think of the bigger picture, my hand is already feeing a bit less numb, so am hopeful that I will back up about soon!!

minipinkscottish · 22/10/2009 13:55

Aw bebe thanks so much .....sorry for moan - you are going through far worse xxx take care honey xxx

disneystar1 · 22/10/2009 20:14

mini does sound painful lets hope it gets sorted out soon

bebe ive had the steroids some time ago now yes you do feel crap but worth it in the end hun, give P a massive humungus hug when its out plus done the voting and my dd is voting too, i rekon i got my whole family rooting for P now
bebe keep your carbs up ok when the BS goes down not just sugars it will help massive with your energy levels.

M2L now way is she 10 weeks old already, where has the time gone?
well done you though, like bebe said be very proud of yourself

i had a good birthday today and enjoyed it very much i had books and sweets (im sure my grandson got them for nanny to share)
my son bought me a gold watch and matching love heart chain (hes only 17 so thoughtfull)

huge bunch of roses from dh and chocs
another huge bunch of lovely flowers
mini baileys as im not allowed to drink so thats my indulgance....mmmmmmmm

had a housefull but it was lovely, im the cake baker here birthdays xmas whatever they al come to me to bake and ice them a cake so my dh bought me one which was a very nice change.

bebejones · 22/10/2009 20:39

Disney - glad you had a nice day! You deserve to be spoilt! I'm feeling surprisingly alright after the steroids at the moment, have been eating lots of bread & pasta and taking paracetemol which seems to be helping!

P has been very funny the last few days at PIL while I have been in hospital! Running around their huge house creating havoc by all accounts! This evening she was sat on my lap & DH's phone went off (txt message it sounds like a door bell so we always say 'bong bing, daddy's phone') she looked at me and said 'bobble' over & over then got down grabbed the phone saying 'bobble' and ran to the gate to give it to DH, very funny! Although I was very puzzled as to what 'bobble' was! She has loads and loads of words she just isn't always very clear, but does give us a running commentary all day on what she is doing!

minipinkscottish · 23/10/2009 15:55

Happy birthday disney xxxx glad you are having a great time xxxxxxxx

pigleychez · 23/10/2009 16:30

Disney- Glad you had a nice day x

Just returned from my booking in appointment.
Being watched for Gestational diabetes as my levels were high with Abigail and my dad has also been diagnosed with diabetes since last time.
From talking to the MW I found out that Abigail was back to back during labour and was turned with the vontouse. I never knew that before.
She gave me a number to ring to book an appointment to discuss it further as she said it all should of been discussed after the birth. Suprise suprise!

Got my scan booked for Nov 3rd. Cant wait

OP posts:
MinnieMummy · 23/10/2009 20:20

Pigley that kind of thing makes me , DS's birth was high on interventions and it made me weepy to think about it for ages afterwards, so at my booking-in appt for P the midwife suggested getting the records so we could talk through it all and de-brief, fantastic I thought, except the hospital couldn't find them . Anyway, main thing is P's birth was very different and much better despite being 3x as long!

Well I didn't get one of the posts at work but to be honest I'm relieved. I think it would have been very stressful between now and when I go on maternity leave and that's something I could do without. So I'm going to see clients privately and also am thinking about doing Pampered Chef so have been asking Jodie for lots of advice!

Had a scan on Thursday, good news just one baby in there, with heartbeat, but they couldn't do a nuchal because it's just a few mm too small. So I'll have to go back for another within the next couple of weeks, the receptionist was really blase and said 'oh, we'll let you know' and I was thinking 'postal strike postal strike' but of course didn't say anything. I'll ring in a few days if nothing's come through.

Glad you had a relaxing bday Disney, you deserve it.

Hope you get the help you need soon Minipink.

bebejones · 23/10/2009 20:28

Pigley - I'd say that the de-brief would be worth it. Shocking that they hadn't told you about A being back to back. P was back to back too...they had no idea until they pulled her out face up with the forceps over her face

Minnie - so sorry bout the job, but if you are happy not to have it maybe it's a good thing. Hope the next scan date comes through quickly.

I have pushed myself too much today & am paying for it now, feel like crap! Have made bread, soup, pasta sauce for P and also got the mincemeat for Christmas all ready to cook tomorrow! Phew what a day! Time for some rest now the little monkey is in bed!
