quiet in here again must be the busy weekend y,all having

not much to say here except im busy knitting my boys there bobble hats at their request though ,just plain black for school though.

ive also just finished there lovely chunky winter jackets, that took some work doing 4

off to bed now im just checking this train museum place as my 5 yr old son is a train fanatic and we have to usually go round the country checking out steam trains and theme weekends, i told him hes not growing up wearing an anorak and having a note pad and pen to hand

his answer but mom what if it rains i have my pac a mac,

on a good note we had my 9 yr old sons statement come through his amended one and im very happy as he will be switching to a special school soon about time too, the school hes at is great with him but just dont have the resources to help him ,theyve hired a nurse for him as he needs help 24 hours a day but they just dont have the medical knowledge
and he cant go on trips or swimming as his condition means he cannot get any infections at all.
but happy days at the special school he will just bloom there and he happy

pigleychez · 12/10/2009 11:53

Bebe- Really hope the MS improves for you and your get appointments soon.

Disney- Sounds like you have been busy with your knitting! Plus glad your son will be going to the school he needs.

had a lovely weekend visiting my mum for her birthday.(the cake was yummy!) We went for a lovely meal out to a chinese resturant. Abigail was happily tucking into spring rolls, prawn crackers and seaseme seed toast. It was lovely.
Sadly later that afternoon had my first bit of "morning" sickness. First from wither pregnancys so hoping it was just too much spices and not that start of things to come!

Bought Abigail some new shoes and some Upsy Dasiy slippers. She seems to think that Upsy daisy is her and points to the character saying "Abigail, Abigail,Abigail Abigail".

Also managed to get most of Abigails xmas presents all sorted too.

Have Abigails last swimming lesson today. She is doing so well so have decided to book her for the next 6 week session. Costing a small fortune but worth it if she is confident around water and would be able to cope if she was to fall in or something. (Plus im enjoying doing it with her! )

Hope everyone is well

Poledra · 12/10/2009 13:27

Hi all
no time for a proper post but just wanted to share with you this little story:

Had to run out to get something from the shop yesterday afternoon. Older DDs busy with my SIL who was visiting and didn't want to come with boring ol' mummy. DH then says 'Pol, look at this.' Orlaith had seen me put my shoes on, and was tottering along the kitchen dragging her fleece behind her shouting 'Mamamamama!'. When I went over to her, she handed me her fleece then held out her arms so I could put it on for her. She got to come to the shop with me

She's growing up so fast

Rumpel · 12/10/2009 15:12

Hi All,

MCC - sorry about your friend - it's really rough when someone commits suicide. When I was a teenager my bf brother hung himself and the guilt that all his family and friends felt was appalling. So hard for everyone to accept and understand - big squishy hug ( ).

Been back for a week now from hols and inundated with washing/cleaning etc. Had a fab time although went in far too quickly. DD loved the pony trekking (Kirsty was the ponie's name) and we all had a great time. Hoping to go back in June with friends. Don't know if you remember me saying I had become Chairmum for my area for netmums and had met a really good friend who was 10 years younger? Well we're hoping to go back with her and her family as her DDs get on really well with Amber and Calvin.

Just been mad busy as usual - too many things to do and not enough time. Start my new job next week - first class is body massage I'm a bit nervous and excited at the same time . Hope I sound like I know what I'm talking about .

BEBE/DISNEY - must be very very difficult with MS trying to look after everyone - I have had an aching right arm for about 2 months now and it's a real bind never mind MS! Hope the treatment starts soon BEBE.

DISNEY - good news about your DS. I am not a great believer in inclusion in schools - I know there is good and bad but I think specialist schools are much better in terms of educational, emotional and social devleopment for an individuals needs.

Must go as so many things to do arggg!

Hope all you pg ladies are well and vibes to keep that morning sickness away..............

Rumpel · 12/10/2009 15:13

Cannot beleive I forgot to say Calvin started walking properly the day before we went our hols and he is so enjoying it - my wee chappie - he is such a sweetie.

Rumpel · 13/10/2009 19:23

Ok is this the beginning ofthe slide or have you started a new thread? . All you preggers folk will be comparing symptoms on your new thread and have deserted us we want to hear too....

xxxxxxxxxxxx

bebejones · 13/10/2009 20:07

It is starting to go a bit quiet in here!

pigleychez · 13/10/2009 20:26

Ive not deserted you guys!!

Just been quite busy lately and find myself sparko on the sofa pretty early lately so no time to post. Havent been on the other thread much either.

anyway:

Poledra- ahhh thats so sweet

Rumpel- Woo hoo on the walking! Sounds like you had a lovely time on holiday. Going again with your friends sounds great fun.
typically good friends of ours had book Great yarmouth the weekend before we went. But we didnt go till the monday so missed them. Would of been fab to meet them up there!

Good luck on the new job

Abigail is really amazing me with how clever she is. Her speech is amazing and she knows so many words. She is so caring and loves cuddles.
She waits for DH to come home at the window then runs to him at the door, arms open wide for a hug. DH brings her into the front room and she points to me. She then puts her arms round each of us for a big family hug. Then pushes DH and I together for a kiss. Its sooo sweet!
She now walks up the stairs like we do..one step at a time just holding a hand for balance. We count the steps and shes started repeating the numbers and even telling me what comes next! Funny thing she does is to stop at stair 5 and put her hand up for a high 5! Is also excellent at tidying her toys away before bathtime now too. Just have to say Tidy up time, toys away and she jumps too it.

Went to a new playgroup this morning which is like a lovely little nursery as opposed to the hall with toys type. Lots of structured activities, painting, making peppermint creams, cutting up thier own snacks, story time, songtime. Abigail loved it.
Did our own bit of messy play at home this afternoon too.

Been feeling abit rough lately and so so tired but could be worse so cant grumble too much!

Hope everyone is well

OP posts:
disneystar1 · 14/10/2009 09:43

sounds a lovely playgroup pigley, poor you feeling rough i remember it well but look at what you get at the end bet thats made you smile
Abigail sound a clever little girl, also they do amazing stuff at this age there just like sponges arnt they absorb it all.

Samuel still cant stand on his legs properly but im not worried he can crawl, boy can he crawl (im shattered )
hes eating well and trying to eat on his own too, no words really but he signs to me

he says mama for me
ma for daddy
a sound that sounds like hiya
thats it, he signs me
more
no
teddy
sleep
hurt
oh and says the word mine
he is funny though as if the boys have a cookie he knows and watches them intensely until he spots it then shouts and signs more mine

rumpel good luck with the job and you will be just fine you know. xxxx

yes its been a bit quiet in here of late.

bebejones · 14/10/2009 12:23

Quickie catch up while I can!

Pigley good news on the playgroup, good ones are hard to find round here!! What did you get A for Xmas, that's super organised, I have bought 3 presents so far and none of them for P!! We have compiled a list of things though in case people ask what to get!!

Disney - Sam sounds like sucha little character, I bet he makes you laugh!!

Still no improvement for me on the legs front! Saw specialist nurse Mon, but still waiting on consultant as he was not convinced it is MS So am in near constant agony & can barely walk....great!! Just WTF is it?!?!

P is so so funny. Everyday she just amazes me you guys are right about them being sponges! Her fave new word is 'UP' which she shouts til you pick her up then laughs & says 'down', runs around the room and comes back and says 'UP' this is repeated over & over & over & over........UP is not my favourite word!!! This morning she came over said 'mama up' climbed up onto sofa gave me a kiss, a hug & then got down & carried on playing! Was very sweet!

DH is at office with his dad this morning so am going to try & lie down now P is napping!!

pigleychez · 14/10/2009 14:43

Bebe- so far Abigail has

Night garden Ninky knonk train thing
Night garden figures
Fisher price Little people noahs ark
Aquadraw mat
couple of lift out puzzles
Night garden Pj's
Peppa Pig rucksack
Peppa pig top

no doubt tons more!

that your legs are no better. Make sure you kick up a fuss till you get things sorted!

Having a lazy day here today after a bad start this morning with sickness.
Trying to tidy up but Abigail just seems to follow me round undoing everything! monkey!

OP posts:
bebejones · 14/10/2009 15:48

Pigley - P has the little people Ark and she LOVES it is her favourite toy she knows which animals go together and carries them round in pairs!! Great toy, but be prepared to lose the flag under every piece of furniture you own! Aquadraw is on our list too, fabulous invention IMO!

pigleychez · 14/10/2009 16:40

yep- Ive had them the nurseries where ive worked and bought them for friends little ones. They are fab!
The ark was reduced in Argos too so even better!

JODIEwantsanewname · 15/10/2009 20:29

Gosh, where is everyone?

Just a quicky as I;m taking this time to go and have a long soak in the bath!

Sam has Hand, Foot and Mouth and has been really clingy and whingy for 2 days and today has come out in blisters on his hands and all in his mouth although, wierdly, he has actually been morelike himself today, climbing and talking and smiling, so maybe we are coming out the other end.

Rumpel Well done on Calvin walking!

disney Hope your holding up and Sam's OK?

pigleychez · 15/10/2009 21:19

Jodie- Glad Sam is getting better. It is usually just beofre the spots that they are feeling the worse. Ive seen many cases through nursery and Abigail had it a while back. She was poorly for a few days before she got the blisters but was fine after. Abigail got blisters inside her mouth which obviously hurt her when eating so dont be suprised if hes off his food for a few days.

Hows the jobs going? keeping you busy!?

OP posts:
sweetkitty · 15/10/2009 21:37

I'm still here too been feeling so rough, so forgot about this bit.

Disney - Samuel sounds such a star with the crawling, I remember you saying that the docs said he wouldn't even hold his head up and now look at him go, no stopping that boy

pigley - go Abigail, it seems every day they are doing something new doesn't it, I so love this age, Bethany knows loads of words too mostly food related though. Well done you on Christmas presents, we have the Ark too great present, it was DD1's and now Bethany has it and loves it, the older ones still have a play with it too, it was our first Little People toy now we have a great collection, some days we pull it all out and have a village in the front room. For Bethany it's been really hard but we are getting her a Peppa Pig my first pram, a talking Peppa Pig, a magic mirror thing, a vtech singing book, a FP singing tea seat and probably some books, oh and one of those Tomy megasketcher things as she loves playing with DD2's.

bebejones - I don't know what to say, I wish you were closer so I could come round and help you out, am very at the docs for not helping you more. I cannot begin to imagine how hard it is for you and Disney, I know I am about to get SPD again and it sucks but I do know it will go

Rumpel - glad you enjoyed Centerparcs, our ponies were called Pepsi and Eric and the girls still talk about them, DD2 especially loves horses now, she had better not ask for one from Santa though. We are thinking about next October, with DB4 being born in May I think the Summer will be out.

Poledra - lovely story

Jodie - poor wee Sam hope he is feeling better soon

Hope I haven't left anyone out, early night again for me I think.

disneystar1 · 15/10/2009 22:31

hi SK lovely to see you back i can imagine your feeling so so tired try to take it easy my friend, x

jodie im doing good thanks having good and bad days but its just a couple of weeks away now we go on the 2nd november, and he has numerous eye/ear/tests brain scans bloods done i know its going to be a horrible day, next day they say he goes down at 8am we wont see him till 8 or 9 pm that evening in intensive care
jodie i cant think about it, im going to embarrass myself i think i will just break down when he leaves for theatre.

we are meeting our new respite nurse on tuesday, at the hospice theres a lovely sensory room and so much samuel will love, shes also going to play and build up a friendship with him so i can have rest (like im going to leave him ) but to be honest i have to get out, im hiding away here comfort eating ive put on a stone, im just so sad its destroying me, when he pulls through and wakes up my lifes mission is to nurse him back to health, i will be the happiest person alive i can tell you, once he opens his eyes i will be ok, i know he is going to lose his sight initially but we cna work on that, it will get better,
il shut up now as il ramble away

bebe how are you hun, hows the legs doing.?

ive not thought about presents yet, its my birthday next week and i forgot

of to bed for me i think

night all xxxx

bebejones · 16/10/2009 15:42

Well saw consultant this morning and they have finally admitted it is the MS!! (I have only been telling them this for 4 weeks) So have to start steroid IV treatment next week [bleurgh] (makes me feel crap) and then I have to talk to specialist about 'disease modifying drugs'......I DO NOT WANT THESE!!!!!! DH says we have to at least talk to him, it just would have such a huge impact on plans TTC which I feel is important before I decline too much. I don't want P to be on her own, I know how horrid that is with a sick parent and I was 19!! Plus drugs reduce relapse risk by 30% and being PG can reduce relapse risk by 60%! Would be prepared to consider drugs after #2 but am wary of doing it before.

Anyway enough rambling!

Disney - thinking of you as always! I know what the comfort eating is like, I swear I have piled on loads of the weight I have just lost, DH keeps buying me cake to cheer me up! (((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))

SK - I had looked at the singing tea set too!! My mothercare wishlist is now enormous! P will be spoilt rotton and I will need a bigger house just for all her toys!

Jodie - Poor little Sam, must be horrid for them it looks so nasty! Hope he gets better quickly xx

Poledra · 16/10/2009 16:40

Bebe, go and see the consultant. (S)he cannot make you take anything you do not want to take - (s)he can only tell you what (s)he would advise you to do. Tell them you are TTC no.2 - they should be able to work with you on this.

Hope it goes well

bebejones · 16/10/2009 17:53

Been reading about the possible drugs they want to take, one is a monthly IV infusion the other is regular injections I would have to do myself.........erm NO!

Poledra - waiting on an appointment with the bloke I have to discuss options with, I have to be properly assesed as these are expensive treatments so I have to be suitable Consultant is very keen and says I am a good candidate!!

I know the NHS is a marvellous thing that we would miss if we didn't have it but sometimes makes me so hacked off!!!

I'm going to ask them if we can put drugs off til after #2 so that then I will be in best poss position to look after a new baby and a toddler IYSWIM. Just feel it would be pointless to go on drugs to just come off them again pretty much straight away. Sorry, I'm rambling again!! Lots on my mind!! Sorry!!!

disneystar1 · 16/10/2009 20:38

bebe dont be put of by injecting yourself i did it its not as bad as it sounds honestly, but i guess it depends how needle phobic you are, i inject insulin twice daily and dont flinch
yes suitability is so important, please make sure you and your dh are absolutely sure which and what treatment you want to try, really mull it and talk it over, good luck sweetheart xxxx

so many seem to be missing from this thread dont they, come on lurkers say hello so we know your out there

Poledra · 16/10/2009 21:42

Bebe, would your DH be able to do the injections for you? My BIL has regular injections for his rheumatoid arthritis, and my sister does them for him - she says he has to make sure he doesn't piss her off just before an injection is due. Just another possibility to think on.

pigleychez · 16/10/2009 21:57

bebe- Go along to the appointment with an open mind, listen and discuss everything including TTC before making up your mind. Thinking of you
