mcchesers · 29/09/2009 02:28

hi everyone,

I'm now 13 weeks and still feeling sick. I've been given Odansetron, an antiemetic, but have been trying to not take it as it's class B. Constipated, drooling, never ending thirst. What was I thinking again? It's ok, this time I've booked the aquanatal class early and plan to get more exercise this time than last. So strange second time around. It only got really bad right around 12 weeks and my breast only started to get tender in the last week.

DH has been doing breakfast, lunch, bath and bed and letting me rest through lunch. I don't know what I would do without him. He's so lovely. Aidan has been glued to DH's leg lately and chewing on everything. We keep finding bits of cardboard in his mouth. Thinking this time it must be molars. Poor lamb.

I haven't really said this out loud yet, but one of my friends committed suicide on Thursday..and I'm not really sure how to feel about it. My friends are all getting together in Denver..there's no way I could travel being this sick.

I know all of this will pass, but I'm just being a really crap mum right now and I just hope this all goes quickly. Sorry for the moan..just really needed to get this off my chest.

Hi to everyone!

mama2leah · 29/09/2009 15:52

guys advice please
leah gets to knackered by lunchtime, she fell asleep in the booster seat, her nights are still a miss, up alot, end up in our bed etc...

should i re-introduce 2 naps a day to her? how many of your los do this? what time?

disneystar1 · 29/09/2009 16:10

samuel goes to bed at 7.30 pm ok he does wake a few times but it takes mins to re settle now,
i get him up at 8am or he would sleep for ever lol
he has breakfast at 9.30am
snack and juice at 11am
naptime at 12
i wake him at 1.30-2pm
then lunch
dinner at 6pm
bath and bed again by 7.30pm

so 1 nap but he is a sleeper and loves his cot so much he lies there for an hour after waking i have to wake him up,
if he had his way hed be in bed at night by 6pm.

sweetkitty · 29/09/2009 17:21

Bethany goes to bed at 8pm, she rarely makes a sound at night, sleeps straight though (at 11 months she could be up 5 times)

wakes up at between 6.40am and 7.30am, usually around 7

breakfast 7.30 - 8am with the others
snack at 10.30am
lunch 12.15 - 12.30
nap 1.30 - whenever, somedays 40 mins somedays 90 mins
dinner 5.30-6pm

she's only been having one nap for months now, has a nap in the car if we are out at weekends but thats about it

M2L - with Bethany her waking was boob related, if she woke she wanted a quick feed to get back to sleep, what we did was once she turned a year I stopped feeding her at night completely, when she got up DP got up to her, sshed her patted her but dodn't take her out her cot, I think they soon realise that their is no point crying as they aren't getting milk/Mum and Dads bed and settle themselves back down, B will cry out sometimes but then goes back to sleep.

I don't know how you do it with another little one too you must be knackered, I'm not a fan of CC or letting them cry hence DP was always with her at first. You could try sending DH in with Leah whilst you focus on feeding the baby, Dp had a quilt on the floor the first night, I think 2 nights was all it took. She goes for her naps no problem in the day in her cot now as well.

minipinkscottish · 29/09/2009 20:24

mcchesers - so sorry to hear about your friend....and sorry you are feeling so poorly...take good care of yourself...sending a hug xxxxxx

M2L - Abbie still has 2 naps a day and sleeps fairly well at night although she is still very much a boob girl and will cry for one if she wakes with sore teeth etc....she really needs the 2 naps...they are all different and so just go with your instinct xxx Sometimes they get overtired and then can't sleep at night.....then again Abbie naps and sometimes still gets up and ds44 didn't nap and he didn't sleep at night either no magic formula I'm afraid xxx

minipinkscottish · 29/09/2009 20:25

HEE HEE just read over my post....I know I've got a lot of bairns but not that many........

pigleychez · 29/09/2009 20:53

Minipink- DS44???

M2L- Abigail has 2 naps a day still.
She wakes about 6.30/7 then is ready for a nap bout 9.30/10. Sometimes if she woken nearer 6 then shes nap read at 9.
Usually about an hour to hour and half. Sometimes I have to wake her for lunch at 12!

She then has another nap around 2.30/3.00 which is usually about a hour.
Bath and bed starts between 7 and 7.30 depending on her tiredness. Shes always in bed by 8.
She generally sleeps through. We sometimes get murmmers from her but she settles herself back off easily.

Abigail went through a phase of not appearing tired during the afternoon but would then be hellish over dinner and knackered. I found that putting her in her cot even though she didnt look tired was the trigger she needed to suddenly start yawning! She would be asleep within minutes!

If not a nap then try to have some quiet time.. Cuddle up on the sofa with her and watch a cartoon or something calm. Just having that calm time will help refresh her or make her tired.

Hope you find a solution soon

spiralqueen · 30/09/2009 09:21

[creeps into room all emmbarrassed and waves at Jodiewantsanewname] Psst sorry Jodie - posted a query for you on the property thread.

Apologies ladies for interrupting your thread

Poledra · 01/10/2009 09:54

Morning all - 's quiet in here the last few days! who're you then??

No longer spaced out on drugs, thank god, but will need to go to the orthodontist to get this tooth sorted out. Im not sure which was worse though - the pain from the tooth or the wierd side effects from the drugs.

mcchesers, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. How are you coping? Can you manage to take it in? Glad DH is being such a support to you just now. Take care of yourself.

Disney, what's it like having DH home over the week? Have you got exasperated at him not doing things your way yet?

Rumpel, hope you're having a lovely holiday. We're off to my DSis in France over the October half-term - yay!

Hope all you pg ladies are taking care of yourselves and getting as much rest as is possible with a 1-yo (and other DCs!) in the house.

disneystar1 · 01/10/2009 13:08

hi poledra yes its real quiet isnt it

well about my dh i dont really see him, he gets in at 7am goes to bed till 3pm by the time im home with the boys its 3.45 and he goes at 5pm
its going to take some getting used to for us both, he hasnt worked out a good sleeping pattern yet
he wants to sleep 4 hours a day and says thats enough ,its what he used to sleep at night, but i say he has the opportunity to get a good sleep now so go for it, it will work out ok though

i bet rumpels having a good holiday, lucky thing

mcchesers · 01/10/2009 14:33

jealous of holidays..must be fab to get away.

Thanks for the support everyone. I'm not really sure what to feel, and it's awkward because the funeral is in Denver and it's all people from when I was married before. Some of them are still friends..some aren't. I'm just thinking about the good memories that I have.
There's no point in being there this weekend as sick as I have been, and I don't need the stress of all the drama.

Today is mother's day out with Aidan and I get to lie on the couch and be a potato for the morning.

Disney - that's a tough schedule, I hope it all works out ok. Is that permanent?

Pigley and SK- How you feelin?

pigleychez · 01/10/2009 18:59

Mchessers- Sorry to hear about friend
Take care of yourself and little bubba.

Thanks for asking after me. Im generally ok. I have the odd times of feeling pretty rough ( like tonight ) Just generally worn out.

DH came home with some shitty news tonight. They intend to close his local office and relocate everyone to the head office in London. That would mean a long commute for DH and mean he would leave before Abigail wakes and come home after shes gone to bed Making him a weekend dad.
With Number 2 on the way too its not ideal.
DH has said he will start circuling his CV but the job market isnt the greatest at the mo. Plus his on very good money which he may struggle to get again. Im sure it will come good but just feels like just when you get sorted someone has to throw a spanner in the works!
rant over

Had a lovely day at a friends. Her DD is a july 08 baby too. They play so nicely together and looked cute sitting in thier highchairs together for lunch.

sweetkitty · 02/10/2009 15:24

hi everyone

Well had my scan today, baby is an ONLY, healthy heartbeat and is a bruiser at 21mm long, am bang on my dates (if I ever doubted it with my anal retentiveness) so all looking good, very very relieved, cannot wait to 12 weeks now though. Still feeling very sick and shattered though could sleep 24/7. Bethany is getting cuter by the day she is trying to copy everything the other 2 do now, she combs your hair and sings on the vtech microphone, feel really sorry for her though, the other two keep disappearing upstairs and leaving her.

pigley - to hear about your DHs job, so many companies are downsizing/relocating to cut costs, how late would he be home, we have always had a 8pm bedtime here so we have some Daddytime during the week, DP is always away before the DDs get up though.

mcchesers - so sorry to hear about your friend, I hope you are taking it as easy as you can now you have a walking boy too, you are a few weeks ahead of pigley and I is the nausea leaving you now?

poledra - ouch about the tooth, is it destined for the big tooth heaven in the sky then?

disney - thats tough, how is he managing to sleep in the day, how many DC do you have at home during the day? I don't think anyone in our street could sleep the amount of noise my DDs make.

Quote of the week from DD1 "Daddy we don't have a baby anymore?" DP "no we don't" DD1 "we just have THAT that makes a racket" pointing to Bethany, sisters eh?

disneystar1 · 02/10/2009 21:56

sk thats great about the baby nice and healthy just the right way to be, i remember the early days well, tbh i think they are more shattering then the last leg of pregnancy.

yep he works tough hours im finding it quite hard here right now, i will be seeing him tomorrow for the first time in ages for the whole night, its quite sad really he works so hard since ive had to give up and cant go back now samuels ill,
new regime here though
dh home 7am he takes boys to school (which they love)
he sleeps i pick them up, he gets up goes to work so we dont see each other really its like a blur
so we see him approx hour and a half in a 24 hour day
saturday night hes home till monday night we cant wait......

sk i have 4 boys here but 3 are at school so its just myself and sammy here, but master Sam is so so noisy and just lately hes screaming for no reason im aware of he usually wants something i dont know what though, if i dare walk away he screams, just a little phase but so gives me a headache

pigley i hope things sort out as when i was pregnant with samuel i only say my dh at the weekend , wasnt ideal whatsoever but we had to do it, there was no choice.

dh just rang hes in lichfield and had a blow out on the motorway, not good in a artic with a double trailer .......so hes not happy, his 12 hour shift will now be around a 15 ,16 one ....poor thing

got FIL visiting tomorrow and i have made reservations at a lovely all you can eat chinese buffet, all my 7 kids, there kids all the adults, im looking forward to it, but not the bill , as we are always expected to foot it, makes me a tiny bit cross really tbh, especially when they know we have a tab and just keep ordering more
our bill can be usually around £150 for the meal out, to me that silly, but its only twice a year,

this will make you laugh
you know the programe benidorm well that oldish lady is exactly like my own sweet mom NOT
shes loud fag in mouth drink in the hand always half cut, and thinks shes 20
embarrassing eh !!!!

disneystar1 · 02/10/2009 22:00

reality kicking in here samuel has his lot of jabs tuesday and starts his swab tests for his pre op stuff, 4 weeks to go now , going way too fast for me,

SK - glad to hear everything is ok with baby I used to love the scans

Pigley - sos sorry to hear about dh's job - fingers crossed it all works out

Disney - so sad your dh has to work such long hours but he sounds like a gem doing it for his family

Well we had grandma's funeral yesterday... a lovely service and nice to see some family not seen for ages. Mum coped very well and now it's over she can concentrate on getting well herself. SIL not at all well and had to leave early yesterday and go to docs...she now has an infection in the wound poor love she really has been through the mill

Got a stinking cold and a really sore throat...would love to crawl back into bed no such luck ds4 and dd1 and Abbie are WIDE awake and BOUNCING!!!!

disneystar1 · 03/10/2009 08:08

awww mini poor you its rotton isnt it when we are ill, you def need need some tlc now,

i agree about the funeral your mum can now begin to heal and get her health back up, what wound is it with your sil (sorry if youve said in prev post) ?
i had an umbilical hernia repair was huge and they removed my tummy button in the end as things went so wrong, but 1 mths to the day post op it split open omg the mess and pain, i had to have all infection drawn out with a syringe whilst i was awake from the gaping hole, sorry if that tmi ladies,

so an infection in any wound is nasty hope she improves and gets better real soon .xx

also she was your nan and i know your busy with the children but take time out for you to heal as well xxxx i always get colds like you when im run down, and youve had a lot to contend with lately.

minipink- Hope the funeral went ok and that your Mum and SIL are better soon. Hope your cold gets better soon.

Thanks for the comments on DH's Job. Hes already applied for a few so fingers crossed.

DH and I had a fab night out last night (rare occassion here!!) We went to a Comedy club and saw some great local comedians. My Parents came to babysit Abigail and she was soo good for them which im so happy about. Theres has always been abit of an issue about Abigail not seeing them enough and not being familiar with them and not confident around them, Last time they had she cried herself to sleep But she didnt even realise we were gone this time! My parents said over last night and we spent the morning playing with Abigail. We went to a local farm for lunch in thier little tea rooms and it was soo nice seeing my parents and Abigail walking along holding hands seeing the animals

OP posts:
disneystar1 · 03/10/2009 21:02

pigley sounds lovely and also the image of Abigail and the gp,s holding hands ....just lovely

yes we had a really lovely day my FIL came to see us and the boys as hes flying of to carribean next week, oh first class of course, as he had to tell us
chinese buffet was excellent as usual, samuel ate loads all by himself and ice cream with a bowl and spoon by himself we were so proud of him. oh he loves that sesame prawn toast thing they do too.

of to legoland tomorrow we so need some fun here and what better way than seeing my boys laugh and have fun, its infectious and makes us all happy,

got my dh home tonight hes been complaining hes been on " rations" lately, i might succumb to his charms later ( or he hopes i will )

bebejones · 04/10/2009 15:13

Back from holiday...at last! Think I did well to last the week without actually throttling my mother! DH had spoken to her to ask that she helped me out a bit with Phoebe as I have been finding things difficult. Well, did no good at all, she didn't take the initiative once to do anything. I have come back from my 'holiday' more exhausted than when I left. We didn't even do that much but the MS is really flaring up. I can barely walk, let alone run after P or carry her upstairs, its hard enough getting up/down stairs when it's just me. My legs are so numb & I have lost most of the coordiantion in them. Feel so miserable!! Just relieved to be back home safe and sound and with my DH, just not looking forward to the weeks ahead. Doctors in the morning, will see what he says....trapped nerve in my Pelvis....Pah!!

Anyhoooo, I tried to kepp up to date with you all while I was away but the internet connection was not reliable!!! Had been so good til we got to Grantham! Typical!

SK - glad that the scan went well and that baby kitty is ok!

Disney - Sending massive hugs for you all and little Sam

Pigley - rotten news about your DH, but glad you had a nice time away. P doesn't see my mum very often at all but last few days of holiday was a definate Granny's girl for hugs, it's really nice isn't it!

MiniPink - hope you feel better soon.

McChesers - so sorry about your friend.

Hope everyone is ok, sorry to those I have missed out, just takes a while to get back into the swing of things!!

P had a great time running around the lodge on holiday as it is open plan so she had masses of room! She was very well behaved really. Until the last day or so where she screamed and was grumpy and snotty, she can never seem to shake a cold! She has mastered crawling up stairs as my mums stairs and the lodge stairs are not as steep as ours. She tries to step up but she is too short!! She has loads of new words from this week as well, been a proper little sponge!!

Must go catch up on bejewlled!!

JODIEwantsanewname · 04/10/2009 20:16

Hi guys, hope all is well

bebe So sorry to hear about your MS flare up again, I can't imagine how it must feel, big unMN hugs to you xxx as you know, my ma and pa live in Spain, so it's so lovely when they al get on, it takes a couple of days, but it's as if they know that it's OK to love them IYKWIM.

SK Well done on your DH on his PB, and congtrats on the scan, how many weeks are you now? (and Pigley)

Pigley - Does your mum and dad know about your new addition? or is it still a big secret? Glad you had a nice time with them. and about your DH and his job, he's not been with them long has he? hope it gets better for you.

Rumpel How was the hols? PLease tell all I;m so and Happy Birthday to Amber x

Disney Sounds like you had a nice day and it's nice to hear about DH benig around more

McChesers sorry to hear about your friend, hope you are feeling OKnow.

Mini Sorry to hear about your nan and your SIL.

Hope I've not missed anyone, I've been working like nothing else at the moment, am doing loads of work in the hotel, it just gets busier, (which is good I suppose) and I have christmas coming up with the Body shop, so I have loads of parties booked and my team is starting to take shape, I have 1 on board already, and another 2 that I need to see next week. I need/would like 7 by christmas really.

I'm just catching up with X factor on Sky plus, everyone is so good, I don't know how the judges (BTW KYLIE OMG!!!) decide!
