evening all hope the meet up in Bristol went well

pertelote what wonderful news about Marianne - am delighted

CC have managed two days of not feeding Dylan prior to her naps but still first thing in the morning and last thing at night - will work on that later, am taking baby steps!

Sazz bras and especially shoes sound divine - am not mentioning the size of my norks but for those wishing some padding etc I'm having mine reduced so shall we try to get a deal and you can have my spare?!?!?

DD1 started Primary 2 this morning - how did that happen?!?!? DD2 started playgroup and then her first swimming after lunch - she was a wee star and only had a wobble when they dunked her during a wee song. All teachers remain unscathed which is the main thing

in sorting out the passports for DD1 and Dylan - £102 for two passports and the check and send service (my own fault as cutting it fine as usual) and thats not including the sodding £14 for photos - anyone needing a passport get it done NOW ladies as the fee is going up in Sept

rant over, back later once hopefully tired kids are asleep

sarahnh · 19/08/2009 18:36

Evening everyone

Hope the Bristol meet went well and looking forward to hearing about it...

DH has a footie game tonight so i was on bath and bedtime duty... just before bath dd2 ran away from me, carried her back to her sister and managed to stub my toe on the sofa!!!! how i did not curse and cry i will never know!!! Lots of ows and a couple of oops a daisies.. and DD1 won said that i was very brave !!! Think i broken the sodding toe aswell!!!!

Anyway dd2 down (early which means, i'll be on here stupid a clock) and dd1 chillin out with a dvd before bedtime...

Silence.... bliss!!!!!!!!!!!!

RedLentil · 19/08/2009 19:36

Bristol gossip please ....

Is anyone else's baby screeching?
DD2 is and it is sending me a bit round the twist.

Also DD1 is in vile form. She is just so grumpy about every thing apart from playdough.

Glad to hear the new regime started well Dizzy and good luck for tomorrow.

I prescribe much muttering of the phrase 'company director' in the tricker moments.

Norkage. I remember that. Am I the only person who looks at her wedding photographs in order to reminisce about their own breasts?

TwilightSurfer · 19/08/2009 20:04

I've been sitting here waiting on gossip too. Seems our Bristol ladies aren't chatty this evening.

Evening ladies! Just popping on to say hi before having a long hot post-holiday bath - aaaaaaaaaaaah bliss. And I'm keeping Kurt awake by being online in his room.

Bristol was great fun, even DH said so. Miamla's purple dress was amazing btw.

Cyteen congratulations Missus, will read back to hear all the romantic details.

Hey Sazzles I'm a 34E too according to John Lewis, have to say as soon as I put the bra on I went 'oooh, this feels just right.'

alittlebitshy · 19/08/2009 20:35

I am finding that ds dioesn't want to bf when out and about anymore

at home he tugs at my top to have a quick suck then wanders off again

TwilightSurfer · 19/08/2009 20:42

MY DD1 IS CLEANING HER ROOM!!!

dizzydixies · 19/08/2009 20:48

I haven't bfed Dylan other than first thing in the morning and last thing at night yesterday or today am pathetic but I think its the threat of her being my last one

red screeching - more commonly described as talking to the dolphins here too

TS do you watch criminal minds? we've been watching it over here taped on sky and watching a series, it quite good although I do have several ideas of how to commit the perfect murder now

welcome home buckets glad you enjoyed your day

TwilightSurfer · 19/08/2009 20:55

dizzy my dh watches that criminal mind thing. it stress me so i don't. to think people can be so mean bothers me.

red i don't have a screecher but she can scream if her sister takes her toy.

buckets so is that it...no more...i'd like a full report about the meetup!!!!

TS I'm a tad worried that due to the nature of our work that it doesn't phase us can you ask Mr Surfer for me please if the pappy voice over at the very end pissed him off as much as it does us?!?

Glad to hear everyone had a good time and at TS's hidying DD1

Miamla when you are back and recovered from the day's adventures, can I ask a question about dress fabrics please? Or any of the crafty ladies in fact - I visited a dressmaker in town today who looks like she might be a good bet to make my dress, and she advised me to start collecting samples of fabric that I like so that if/when I go to her for the dress, we'll have a starting point. I know what kind of dress I want but not sure what kinds of fabric will work...

steak so pleased you're happy with our meddling

oopsacoconut · 19/08/2009 21:28

Hi All

Lovely day here too - will put a piccie or two on my profile if it's okay with everyone. I have a touch of sunburn but thanks to Buckets DD was sorted.

Steaky - pleased you like your gift. Will you let me have an address so I can post the parcel that is on my dining room table at least now I can add a few things to it.

steaknife · 19/08/2009 21:34

cyteen I was going to offer to make your dress. BUT I am not so rash brave to say I could draft a pattern, but I could make up from an existing pattern and fit it if you found a pattern you liked.

So anyway - to actually answer your question, if you can show me/us a picture of something similar to what you want I can tell you what will suit. Or give a big hint.

LoveBuckets · 19/08/2009 22:02

Holiday has been lovely, although feel like I've hardly spoken to Kurt all week, have been so busy with the other two and lots of driving. Bath Youth Hostel was gorgeous, the kids really enjoyed their freedom there. Luckily I never threw out my device for tying babies to chairs (from here) so lack of highchairs was not a problem and we bought our own travelcot. Also on posh road chockfull of similar Italianate mansions and there was the most amazing view of the entire city from a field opposite the YH, really felt quite patriotic and proud of old England standing in that field in the sunshine.

So Bristol Zoo... All the kids all got pretty much nekkid in the paddling area (my DS1 vanished for about half an hour which was slightly worrying but had DH there to go scouting thank God.) Sazzles's Lucie came 2nd in the vanishing competition. Took me ages to work out what was so grown up about Miamla's Theo, other than the walking - was the row of 4 teeth on top, as opposed to Kurt's 2 toothstubs (T has v flirty smirk btw, was cracking me up.) Steaky and Izzy both looking great, Izzy in lovely handmade shabby chic 1930s-style dress. Can't get over how much Sambo's Felix looked like my DS1, he really could have been one of mine. Finally got to meet Oops and Poppy who totally charmed my DD.

Am reading gripping Marian Keyes book, This Charming Man, she's a bit more serious than other chicklit authors I think but still v funny. So am now dumping you for her, good night.

cyteen · 19/08/2009 22:23

steak I like this sort of thing or maybe this sort of thing - quite a simple/curvy shape, no frou, possibly a bit of fishtail.

LoveBuckets · 19/08/2009 22:42

Cyteen I had my wedding dress made in microfibre (no not as in E-cloths), looked and draped on the bias just like washed silk (to the inexpert eye) but much cheaper. And check out this place for inspiration...

NezLiquide · 20/08/2009 02:58

Glad you all had a wonderful trip to the zoo!

Steaky you must let us know what you get.

Cyteen those dresses are gorgeous very elegant. Can't be of much use on the material front though.

Buckets we have one of those high chair things too. Was completely invaluable in Thailand as their idea of a high chair appears to be exactly that i.e. a glorified bar stool with no restraint whatsoever.

much better thanks for asking!

for those not there yday, my fb profile is the dress! it seemed slightly frivolous to wear it to the zoo but i figured as bf seems to be less frequent now, my need for a posh bf dress is not likely in the future. well, for a few months anyway

was truly lovely yday but due to it taking longer to get from the station to the zoo than from london to bristol, i don't feel like i really had a chance to chat to you. Especially because DS decided that the most interesting place to see was obviously round the corner from where ever we were sitting!

buckets complimented me on my dress but what she failed to mention was that she had a beautiful little number on too! Was great meeting the rest of your merry little clan. DS1 is such a lovely chappy and DD is beautiful. She was so sweet when she was playing with the other babies. And as for your DH....he needs an award!

oops, i don't mind you putting photo on your profile. But could you put a little explanation on it that my DS didn't scream all day but he really didn't want his exploring time curtailed by having a photo taken! DD is such a lovely little thing. But i hope you appreciate she's like an athlete on starting orders at the moment. your days of sitting nicely chatting with her nearby are numbered!

sazzles, was lovely to meet your DD1. I think T enjoyed trying to keep up with her when she was running round the bird! He's just like his daddy, going for the older woman! As for DD2, what a milk monster! Couldn't believe how quickly she downed her bottle! She was quite an intrepid little explorer too!

sambo's DS was poorly again at the station I haven't heard from her yet this morning, I really hope all is ok. We were chatting about it on the way home and are hoping that it was just that he had too much sun

and as for steaky...girls, i hate to say it but she is a hairy trucker!! Only kidding! Was really lovely meeting you (and Izzy of course) and I hope its the first of many

whilst writing my little report, i was trying to work out who i missed. Were there really only 6 of us??!!

we're having a day at home today! 9 hours of traveling for a trip to the zoo was a little excessive but i'm so glad we did it

and relax
