Morning all

Pertelote how did DD get on in her own room? If it goes OK then you can start practising for her little brother/sister

VG welcome back, sounds like a fab holiday

cece you will have to swap lie-in days as 5am is just too Hope you found some nice suitcases

Miamla are there wedding/dress pictures yet?

snot glad you had a good time

TS that tandem tinkerness can be very wearing can't it although the compensations of them being good and playing together/cuddling etc totally make up for it

No1 sorry your holiday wasn't as relaxing as VG's I hope DS is fine now. There do seem to be a lot of wasps around this year and still quite a long time to go before the nasty feckers all die I wanna go to the zoo too

Red ouch, poor DD2

Cyteen come on we wanna see ring pictures

pf hi! Sorry to miss you, but glad to hear real life going OK

Oops your day at the beach sounds lovely

Poppy of course your DD2 is utterly charming, it must be something to do with her birthday

Sazz camping sounds fab

sarah that must just be your period

Dizzy you need that laptop fixed so we can help you in the transition back to work. It'll be fine, and if anyone pisses you off just mutter "cafe" under your breath

Got friends and DC coming over today to finish off DH's birthday celebrations, so have many buns to ice and things to tidy. Can't be arsed

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 17/08/2009 08:34

Morning all

sazzles glad you had a good time, how sweet of dd2 singing Bob

oops that is just too early, I have been up a few hours from 4am with dd. Not sure why I always think she is brewing for an illness when she does this. Seemed fine just unsettled.iykwim.
sarahn my dd still gets in with us, in fact she is getting much better now. We ususally put her back in her bed when we go up, and she has been staying put for a while.

cyteen I off to drool over the corsets if it is a website

hotterpotter · 17/08/2009 08:38

X-post with you there No1 how are you today? Have you made friends with DH yet? Don't think I could be friends with anyone if I had to get up at 4am

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 17/08/2009 08:43

Hi hotter we are talking in a fashion.
I just don't like him that much at the moment. I know that is awful to say, but I can't help it.
It doesnt help that I told him I hated him about a month ago and he has took it quite seriously.
I also said I would move out.

anyway How are you. we will have to sort this meet up out. I dont mind driving to you if it makes it easier.

cyteen the corsets are gorgeous. I have uploaded a pic of my wedding dress from behind. Not sure how big pic is and if you can see it properly though.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 17/08/2009 08:53

I forgot to say fingers crossed for you saranh that it is period pains. That is the kind of sensation I get when it is on its way.

redlentil poor dd was she ok after the sting. The photos on fb are beautiful btw.

dizzy hope you get the adapter sorted, we recently had to buy a new one and a new screen. Silly money really should have just bought a new one. Thinking of you on return to work

pertelote the pics of dd's birthday are also lovely. I too love that dress and rabbit chair. I have never seen a chair like that.

Oh and buckets love the hair

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 17/08/2009 08:56

Oh and miamla I too lol'd at the stair gate.

hotterpotter · 17/08/2009 08:58

Sorry to hear things still ropey at yours , you have had a difficult 12 months with worries about DS' health as well as sibling rivalry and a lack of sleep. My DH pisses me off alarmingly when I am extra tired, it's quite scary actually but our taking turns to lie in means at least I like him every other day hope things get better really soon. Yes we will have to do a meet up, unfortunately now I am back at work I don't have so much time, in fact I am booked solid for the next three weeks but so far can do any Monday or Tuesday in September apart from 1st. Name your day

Love your wedding dress too

sarahnh · 17/08/2009 09:17

potter,No1... wish it was just period pains, but since i am only on cd17... its either coming mega early (fingers fingers crossed) or else i have been incredibly stupid....

DH is super not happy at even the remotest prospect.. its gonna be a long next two weeks...

PaulDacreForExample · 17/08/2009 10:37

Sarah - sorry you have this stress. Could it be a tummy bug do you think?

No1- Hotter has said what I was going to ...
Don't underestimate the strain an unsettled baby can have on both of you.

Whenever I've felt that disconnection I do what I do when my sisters or children are driving me insane which is to force myself to do lovely things with them to break the cycle.

It works partly on the 'fake it till you make it' principle, but it also helps to remind me why I like them even if they are catastrophically flawed like me

Welcome back VG - how did the cycling go by the way?

oopsacoconut · 17/08/2009 11:00

okay PAuldacre - who re you??

RedLentil · 17/08/2009 11:21

Tis me.

That was my Daily Mail protest name ...

Lots of fuss elsewhere on MN about an mner running a weekly column in the Daily Mail. She's quoting chunks of sensitive convos, which would make vulnerable posters with unusual circs wary of posting or vulnerable to being spotted.

oopsacoconut · 17/08/2009 11:25

Red - I have see all the DM stuff but steered clear, I can't do with heated discussions that early in the day.

We were off into town but DH has the buggy and carseat in his car but maybe the bus and sling will do. It is walkable but not with DD in the moby or the huge black raincloud that has stettled over the town!

RedLentil · 17/08/2009 11:42

The bus sounds like a good bet.

Mine think buses are highly exotic now that we live in a place that doesn't have them. A bus trip will be one of the highlights of our October trip to the Uk.

cyteen · 17/08/2009 11:48

ring here

Sorry for being brief, I have read everything honestly but my head is so full of wedding life stuff at the moment that I haven't much time to chat. Here, have this fat-free cheesecake as a token of my esteem

TwilightSurfer · 17/08/2009 13:18

Sarah I worried over the whole "could I be" for three very long weeks. To be honest I have the sneaking suspicion I was but it wasn't a healthy one iykwim and took a couple of weeks to eject. CD17 would be a little early for things to be causing a remodel. That said, CD22-24 are a different story. If your cycles are a normal 28-30 then CD17 could potentially be O which can cause funny feelings and even pain when the egg releases. If it's been more than 5 days since the misfire, you should be clear of any convergence. Also, if you've completely stopped taking the pill since you forgot it, your hormones might be having to regroup on their own without prompting and the feeling IS that of preAF. Now do you feel better. (((((hugs)))))

sarahnh · 17/08/2009 13:44

thanks TS... do feel better but won't be happy til she arrives!!!

I haven't taken my pill at all this month as was a week in (on hols) so haven't bothered to take it!!! only thing thats making me worry was that when i concieved DD2 i oluvated quite early cd10/cd11 i think and bd'd on cd11.. obviously not realising i wasn't protected ( thick person that i am)... so guess i am a waiting game til af turns up....

what annoying me most is that we have just started having a life again.. girls getting on really well, hoping to start night school in sept... really don't need the worry... hoping i am going insane for nothing!!!

sarahnh · 17/08/2009 13:44

just realised the amount of spelling mistakes.. preview anyone!!!

no1 love love love your wedding dress, you must have looked amazing on the day, hope you and your dh recapture what you felt that day !!

hotpot we are loving the wire here, every night we watch 2 episodes however you may keep mcnulty, he's not my type

we managed to get a new buggy at the car boot yesterday - a phil and teds e3. And it has the 2nd child bit too which I was very excited about ...maclaren is on ebay, phew

TwilightSurfer · 17/08/2009 18:43

Hi again

Tomorrow is Reese's birthday and I've done nothing...zip...nada to prepare for it. Does that make me a bad mother? My answer: No. I think I'm going to purchase her a balloon bouquet while she is in Mom's Day Out tomorrow morning. Balloons make her smile. That's the important thing. I've been debating (with myself) about a cake. There's a new bakery beside her Mom's Day Out. Might just pop in to see what they have OR I could bake one myself. I think I'll call my aunt and see what kind of cake pans she has.

lol Sazzles, I feel I should explain that my ring is a handmade original, crafted from polymer clay, in the shape of a green squid with purple suckers and big black eyes I absolutely love it, which just goes to show how well matched DP and I are. He was planning to propose in front of the octopus tank in Ilfracombe aquarium - there's a long running tentacle appreciation thing between us, I won't bother to explain - just as well he didn't though, as Ilfracombe aquarium is literally two narrow corridors and any attempt at a proposal would have caused a multi-tourist pile up behind us. And the octopus was hiding anyway.

I will be getting an actual ring fairly soon, hopefully from a friend who is a jeweller by trade. DP didn't want to splash out on a piece of jewellery without my input, savvy boy that he is.

no1 your wedding dress looks amazing. Sorry to hear of rough times though - I hope he finds his way back to you, and reasonableness, iyswim.

Quick update on DS now that he's nearly 1 - since spending the week with his cousins, esp 18 mth old walking and talking girlchild, he is:

pulling up to stand constantly
having tantrums over things he doesn't want to do (have nappy changed, lie down to sleep at 2am etc. )
into absolutely everything
totally, irresistably cheeky
very, very opinionated

I bought him his first pair of shoes today. How is this possible?

steaknife · 17/08/2009 20:56

wotcha one and all.

congrats cyteen how very exciting for you.

Looking forward to zoo on Wednesday but feeling flumpy and in a v bad mood today. Taking it out on my mum which is not nice of me. Sigh.

At least Izzy is doing okay. Having got her sleeping through before I came away that went out the window with sharing a room here so I have moved onto the sitting room floor and she is back to sleeping through - yay.

sorry - not got much more to say - but waves and devon cream teas to you all.
