Very of your beach trip Oops, hope you have a lovely time. We will be mostly watching DH play Grand Theft Auto Vice City today as I kindly bought me him another playstation after ours got trashed by DS breaking a lava lamp on it

Weather looking a bit gloomy too, at least it's dry as I will need to wash the sheets they are covered in chocolate from the pains au chocolat this morning

Sarah I hope DH has got up and let you go back to bed.

Hope you all have a lovely day

pertelote · 16/08/2009 09:52

Oh goodness me this is why I shouldn't leave it a few days without reading...

Cyteen hurrah hurrah! Congratulations - how very exciting and lovely

And apologies to all the lovely babies whose birthday wishes are coming belatedly... Hope Lexie and Eibhlin and Tomás and Lara and James had wonderful days. Oh and happy birthday Mr Potter, too!

Will try to keep up better this week. I think we are moving DD into her own room today

Welcome back vg

Have fun at the beach oops

We're going suitcase shopping

Miamla · 16/08/2009 15:28

NezLiquide · 16/08/2009 15:41

Hello all and Happy Birthdays to all those I've missed. Congrats to Cyteen too! Steaky welcome back to Blighty be sure to have some fish and chips, sliced bread, pasties etc for me!

Have just returned from Thailand. Had a great time. DS on very good form and has decided he loves elephants (or stone/wooden versions of them). Must go to bed now we're off to the zoo tomorrow with MIL.

TS glad AF finally arrived.

TwilightSurfer · 16/08/2009 16:30

Hi everyone. Huge apologies to all the Birthdays I have missed while I have been away.
Hope everyone had wonderful celebrations.
I stil cannot believe how quick the year has gone.

steaky that is wonderful news that you have found somewhere already. (although circimstances) I hope you are ok.

cyteen what an exciting holiday you had. Congratulations. I am looking forward to hearing all about it.

ts hope you are ok and the dcs have calmed down.

expectant glad to hear you also had a lovely time, looking forward to seeing the pics.

cc hope you have enjoyed the suitcase shopping and huge sympathies to the biting. Ds did this a few times to me then self weaned. Hope you manage to stop without to much upset.

dizzy I am so pleased to hear that Holly is home safe and sound. How awful. I agree with ann though it does sound strange that someone took her out of the garden.

Off to catch up again as I have forgotten what else I was going to say

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 16/08/2009 17:52

oops hope you had a lovely day at the beach.

sarahnh grr for you at dh. Mine has been out this afternoon and is off out again tonight. Hope you manage a lay in.
(mind you, I am glad toi have him out of my sight lately anyway)

vg lovely to hear from you, looking forward to hearing about the holiday. Hope dogs are ok
sazzles not sure how long you have gone camping for but hope you have fun.
Hi to everyone if I missed anyone, very sorry.
I am all camped out. enjoyed it, but was ready to come home. Had a fright with Marcus as he got stung in his mouth a couple fo times by a wasp. Was awful. I swore a lot bit. (apologised later for my foul mouth to families who were sat eating a picnic nearby)

Was told by first aider to take him to hospital. Doctor gave piriton and it took the swelling of his lip down, but came back up later on.
He was veyr brave and only cried a little. His lip was huge and he kept sucking it all the time. Must have felt very strange. I have never been stung so can't imagine what it felt like, but I so wish I could have been stung for him.

Too many wasps about making me paranoid, and with the combination of the noise and pikey campsite we came home early.

RedLentil · 16/08/2009 18:06

Ouch - poor Marcus.

DD2 got stung on her hand the other day, but the mouth!

cyteen · 16/08/2009 19:17

That is so awful no1, poor Marcus I am pathetically terrified of wasps, having never been stung either, so he should feel extra proud of himself for being so brave.

therealpf · 16/08/2009 20:15

Hello all!
Just nipping on (and I really do feel like an interloper now) to say hello and as I couldn't resist saying congratulations to cyteen I am very pleased for you.

Just back from miss filou's 4th birthday party - although she isn't 4 until the 28th. Toby did NOT enjoy it and found it very stressful. Other news is I am back at work 3 days a week but last week was a difficult weeks as dh had swine flu (Toby and ds1 have already had it)

Just off to make my dinner but congrats also to steaky on her house, miamla on her dress and anything else I've missed in my long absence.......

Love to all xxxx pf (I will come back later to see if anyone noticed I was here!)

therealpf · 16/08/2009 20:17

Also been in France for two weeks ...... and forgot to say Happy Birthday to all those los who are already 1 (can't believe it)

oopsacoconut · 16/08/2009 20:20

Helllooooooo PF. Hope you are all on the mend now. Are you about for a zoo visit on wednesday or do you work wednesdays?

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 16/08/2009 20:22

Hi pf It is great to hear from you, I am sure I can speak for everyone and say you are missed very much.
So sorry to hear of the swine flu.
How are you finding it back at work? How are you feeling?
Sorry don't mean to be nosey, just think of you a lot and hope you are ok.
Happy birthday little miss filou.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 16/08/2009 20:23

Hey oops how was the beach?

I wanna come to the zoo

poppysocks · 16/08/2009 20:30

Hello pf! Welcome back VG! and Congratulations cyteen! So pleased for you cyteen. You sound like such a great couple (as well as wonderful parents). Do you have any wedding plans yet?

Well done on finishing the dress miamla and putting together a whole house so quickly and stylishly steaky.

Happy Birthday MrHP, ouch poor miniNo1 and sorry to hear about the hol and Grrr to all the lying-in DHs, sarah, CC and all others .

BiL woes continue here but have had a lovely day with friends who are expecting their DC2 soon. DD2 was utterly enchanting helping to take the edge of that fear that we were all feeling about this time last year...

oopsacoconut · 16/08/2009 20:36

No1 - it was lovely, we went early and had breakfast ata great beachfront restaurant then walked along the front, the tide was out so DD had a play on the pebbles then we walked back and had a Mr whippy before coming home. We moved DD room around this afternoon and she is sleeping happily in her cot with the base finally at the bottom.

therealpf · 16/08/2009 21:11

See told you I'd nip back {grin}

oops Can't do Wednesdays as yes is a work day. Difficult anyway with all three of them (although they are at their grandad's next week while I'm working)

no1 Thanks for your thoughts. I'm fine really. I'm only virtually at work as working from home (would prefer the office but just too far from London here). It has its pros and cons. Missing the children for such a long day but also on the other hand it is nice to turn my mind to something else and re-engage parts of my brain that seem to have cobwebbed over..... and it will make it easier to get back into work properly once they are all in school (one day in the future!) Hoping to wean myself off the ADs once both the older filous are back at school and I am properly back in the saddle with work. But first have to get over that stress point and see how they all cope with school/childminder/nursery before I am sure that this is right for all of us.

Sorry to hear about the wasp sting - I was stung in the armpit once and can tell you it really does hurt a lot!

Am off now - but will be back sometime

We're thinking in about a year's time, so no plans have been made yet. Although I have just spent a productive hour perving over couture corsets from Fairy Gothmother

Hi pf, we miss you

Sazz get thee over to Hot Mamas, I neeeeeeeeed your expert cattleprod opinion.

Miamla · 16/08/2009 22:37

hi pf, sorry to have missed you

I had to rescue DP from underneath our new stair gate earlier. Its like a roller blind on its side and he wanted to check whether or not DS could get under it. I think we've conclusively proven that he can't but that if he does try, he won't get more than his head under it I almost wet myself whilst laughing and trying to work out how to do the child proof catch!

sarahnh · 17/08/2009 06:11

Morning...

Another ridulous early morning wake up for me.. think dd2 has been speaking to sazzles' dd2!!!

Hope everyone has had a nice weekend... hi pf.. nice to see you on here again...

DD1 is also being a nightmare at bedtime, refusing to go to sleep and then eventually turning up in our bed in the early hours!!! so tired feel like i could sleep for a week!!!!

Remember i said i forgot to take my pill on hols??? well all day yesterday had horrible lower tummy cramps... pulling sensations... please please someone tell me its just my body playig tricks on me and not another potential babba in there.... don't think i could cope.....

oopsacoconut · 17/08/2009 07:10

Morning Sarah. DD was up for the day at 5.35 [yawn] and was up a number of time in the night with a random cough that won't go away!

Miamla - lol'd at your DH under the stair gate.
