Morning

DD up at 5.15 fo some strange reason but I think it may be my fault she whinged and I went get he and I think I woke her up. SO she has been playing in her prison in the dark for the last 45 minutes when she gets bored I will let her watch some telly.

DD loves pasta especially macaroni cheese - she ate a huge bowlfull at lunch yesterday.

Cyteen - pleased you got nursery sorted.

Sazzles - I hope your window fitting goes ahead today. It is pouring here and has been all night but hopefully it has stopped where you are.

TS thanks for the chicken soup just what I needed. Feeling better this morning so it's not pigflu or manflu. V.V. of you potential trip!

Have FB'd steaky but think she doesn't have computer access since mansteaks computer blew up!

Hots - did you look on the tesco thread in money saving for free delivery codes? if not tesco I found some asda one yesterday.

Morning Sazzles & Oops.

Sazzles I'm sick of seeing 5.30 too. What do you think about wake to sleep. The last thing I want to do though is get up at 4.30!

MIL should be ok. After the whole FIL fiasco she's actually pretty good. When it was all happening DH was rubbish at dealing with her so left a lot of it to me and so our relationship is not too bad. I'm hoping for a bit of a break so I can go to the gym lie in the sun .

Hope the weather stays good for window fitting and trips to Slimbridge.

TS great news on the teacher - it makes so much difference.

Miamla · 05/08/2009 08:16

DS has been waking up at 3am or 4am and then up for day at 5 so i wouldn't bother waking S if i were you snot! I even tried a dreamfeed at 10pm last night but it didn't have any effect. I'm really hoping that hasn't scuppered all my night weaning efforts
That's funny about their pasta preferences! When they eventually meet they'll either be really good friends because they're so alike or the opposite!
I've been copying your park routine to avoid the late afternoon whinging and its working a treat!

off tocatch up

poppysocks · 05/08/2009 08:55

Morning all. Can't contribute anything very interesting to the breakfast table this morning, but plenty of shreddies, rice krispies and cornflakes to share if you so fancy.

Sorry to hear about all the early mornings. Ours have improved since the girls have shared a room as they keep one another interested until the bunny clock tells DD1 that she can get up. So, while they are still awake fairly early, they don't disturb us too much . The earlier wakings for them also mean that they are both napping really well in the day giving us time for a sit-down. that it all continues so well.

Hope you have a good rest/visit with MiL snot.

So pleased to hear DD1 has a great teacher TS.

Hope the windows and days out are a success there Sazzles and oops. Am guessing the rain stopping is fairly crucial for both. Lovely sunny day here so far....

DH off work and asleep thanks to genuinely nasty chest infection. Actually pleased it's got so bad as it's forced him to stop and slow down for a few days. The coughing is driving me absolutely nuts though.

DD1 watching Charlie & Lola DVD while DD2 wiggles her bottom to the theme tune, looking very proud of herself. She also brought me a hairclip today and held it up to her hair. I put it in and it's still there after 20 minutes....This is a breakthrough as after years of hairclips getting lost within 5 mins by DD1 I've largely given up and she has a short bob so the ears can do her job. Finally the milllions of clips lying around may have a purpose?

dizzydixies · 05/08/2009 09:12

oh clever Emily and very that she has hair to clip back, Dylan a wee baldy coot in comparison

not too bad a night here but still not great although DH did get up at 6.30 and let me sleep on - I'd done all the night nonsense though so the guilt isn't bothering me too much! he's away to court for the day feeling miserable as he's a cold and mouth ulcers - he always gets so run down just in time for his annual leave and the feckers are making* him work on Sat too

Nez - love love LOVE trip advisor too - have kind of learned to after a disastorous NY trip in 2004 - shall link the reviews to the hotel we stayed in so you can see how badly myfriend we chose hotel carter and the stories I could tell you would make your toes curl

I started a thread in travel as usual the MN ladies have come up trumps - some with a few suggestions well above our price range but look GORGEOUS but this one looks especially interesting and gets good reviews on trip advisor beacon hotel its upper west side and 5 mins from central park which means walking but thats what we do when we're away anyway and I'd prefer not to be right in midtown - when we stayed in rome we were 5miles walk from anywhere and loved it

visit to childminder this morning and then my lovely friend taking DD1 and DD2 out this afternoon - although to a soft play place and of course the sun is shining maybe she'll change her mind when she sees the weather !!

"Ours have improved since the girls have shared a room as they keep one another interested until the bunny clock tells DD1 that she can get up. "
if that's not an advert for us to have another dc, i don't know what is!

buckets congrats!

hi dizz

cyteen · 05/08/2009 12:36

Buckets congratulations, I'm so thrilled for you

It's so cute hearing about all the sisters bonding with each other, very cockle-warming indeed. I always wanted a sister and used to bug my mum for one constantly, although since she'd decided she preferred the ladies by then it was never going to happen No doubt if one had arrived I would have thrown a mega-strop at suddenly being relegated to middle child, so perhaps it was for the best. I do miss being a sibling though. Being an only sucks.

Reading about Sazz and Pertelote's visits to Scotland made me smile too, imagining them with dizzy and poppy and great herds of little girls

Have instantly forgotten all the rest of what I was going to say Only that last night turned out to be good (once the wine arrived); I went into a strange zenlike trance in the kitchen and turned out the tastiest meal I've made for some time. Then had an early night DS slept through till 6.30am, little star.

TwilightSurfer · 05/08/2009 13:45

Congrats Buckets. showoff
Now would you please tell her I'm waiting still.

OP posts:
LoveBuckets · 05/08/2009 14:27

Oh still waiting TS but test said neg. Have been wearing jeans and chunky old washable sanpad (mummy nappies) all day just in case.

Think I have given myself one of them 'lethal cocktails of prescription drugs' today. Took anti-migraine angina pill this morning then started getting a migraine so took an anti-nausea pill and 2 Annadin Extra. Wonderful wonderful kids let me doze for an hour or so til the flashing lights went away and no headache developed but my tummy was hurting like hell so then I took a charcoal pill which usually works like magic. Tummy still graunching now (2 coffees and a KFC lunch probably haven't helped though) so now finishing up the peppermint tea I bought for my hospital bag last summer.

ah shite shite shite shite SHITE, I booked flights to Dublin to visit my best mate in Oct and stupidly booked the wrong dates and am now going to have to pay a fecking FORTUNE to change the dates [arse] and I can't find any other sodding dates that suit either

TS I think it was you who said I was a booking genius

SKYTVADDICT · 05/08/2009 16:38

Thanks for all the birthday wishes for Lewis. We had a little tea party but it rained and we couldn't get outside but fun was had by all.

Happy Birthday to all the July/August & Sept 2008 babies - thought I'd better say that as I hardly get on this thread

TwilightSurfer · 05/08/2009 18:53

Buckets I started to get a test today but reminded myself of the "nonsensicalness" of the thought and walked on by the isle. Plus if I wait till Thursday...it's free and will have DH with me if it's a (which I DON'T expect it to be). Absolutely no af symptoms at all though so I'm wondering if my cycle goofed and what i thought was midcycle spotting was indeed AF OR if that midcycle spotting was . FYI DON'T google midcyle spotting ESPECIALLY don't google spotting around CD23. For the record I've no symptoms of ANY KIND.

Hi Sky! Pull up a cushion and stay awhile.

I feel very proud having almost completely finished the laundry. Hopefully I will be packed for our weekend trip by tonight THEN MAYBE dh will at least agree to drive down to Callaway Gardens for a night or two. He's so stressed about work right now. He really needs a lounger by the pool with a tall beer.

How's the window gig Sazzles??

dizz oh no,that's the kind of thing i do. so sympathies

ts sounds like the lady doth protest too much

dizzydixies · 05/08/2009 19:52

Sazz the annoying thing is I checked it over and over and OVER again, with every possible route etc etc and its the only bloody date she's away with her work and it can't be changed - feck arse, will have to move the flights at the cost of £28 each person each flight

windows sound fab btw - hope it wasn't too stressful

I have a sniffle, which if I'm like DH will turn into a cold [pants]
