did everyone see Trace's post on FB? Looks like they are getting closer to a way forward in dealing with Chloe's seizures

Ohh you've all been a chatty lot!!
Hi to the newbies - it is odd to think that people "know" us, without us "knowing them!!"

Good Luck Fury - I was you're text buddy last time - where has those 2yrs gone?

Yes - Looks like Trace and Chloe may be getting some answers which is very good.

Well at last today seemed more like summer. I'd like some more days like that please.

We also appear to be moving into the tantrum phase. I've also discovered singing "Wind the bobbin up".... is very good at nappy changes, as L uses her hands to do all the actions rather than using her fingers to poke about and touch her bits!! Yuk!

ValDerRia · 31/07/2009 23:49

hi JBM.are you just in from work? summer? where? it has been nicer today, but it was really autumnal tonight at home after a week of Dales rain.

I need a new name, having failed to be a happy wanderer

glad trace has news on the horizon.

MakkaPakkasWilly · 01/08/2009 08:31

TheNatty · 01/08/2009 09:37

like daisy i was convinced i had a UTI.. dh insisted on calling the midwife cos i woke him up moaning in the bath

RiaButterflew · 01/08/2009 09:51

hope your contractions become something or nothing MKP. Excellent day to have a baby today - it's Yorkshire Day! (whatever that means)

not a great time on holiday TBH norty, long story. will probably tell you later. Am rushing out to the supermarket and my sisters allotment just now, as it's the village produce show tomorrow and the boys want to bake and do a flower arrangement

have a great day everyone.

daisy, sorry to have missed you. Have a great holiday. wave to the windmills for me (and if you bump into Stephen Fry tell him he's not really gay and he and I could live a really depressed life together)

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 01/08/2009 12:51

What is the world coming to? My Mum has joined Facebook! I will have to be careful what I say now

RiaButterflew · 01/08/2009 14:52

best behaviour jammy! My mum would love the word games on FB, but I aren't telling!

RiaButterflew · 01/08/2009 16:28

DH is doing my head in

how you doing MKP?

RiaButterflew · 01/08/2009 20:19

DS2 has made jam tarts and cherry buns. DS1 made lemon cake and chocolate cake. Just the pictures to mount and they're done for tomorrow

DH is at work, am hoping he gets back before the shop shuts as I want pizza and didn't buy one . He has come off Incapacity and has a proper part-time job of 24 hours a week, which may become full time after the 3 month trial (and hopefully he will have had some results from the hospital by then)

It is pissing down here. Bloody weather. My washing got wet.

Jammy, can your mum see our comments on your FB? Do we have to be on best behaviour too? desperate to be liked by friends parents>

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 01/08/2009 21:10

Well done with all the baking Ria. I made choc chip cookies with Jamlet this morning And fingers crossed for DH with this job.

Um yes, I guess my mum will be able to see comments my friends make, but don't feel you have to behave anything different. I will warn my Mum that I am not responsisble for any jokes or comments my friends may make. She's a grown woman, she'll have to live with it. Not sure that she's going to be an avid FB user actually. I suspect she is just seeing what it can do, having heard me and my DSis talk about it. I expect she will decide it is pretty boring and not for her after a short while.

LittleMissNorty · 01/08/2009 22:06

Baking all sounds scrummy

I went out and bought a set of sabateir (?sp) knives today and then marvelled how fab it was to be able to chop up an onion very finely and without any effort.....sad eh?

Weather was shit this afternoon and I think I was the only bad mother who didn't go out with a rain cover and kids got rather wet .

Isn't the TV shit on Sat nights....all these channels and I still can't find anything to watch

LittleMissNorty · 01/08/2009 22:26

Just seen Fury's DH post on another thread that her waters have broken and she's off to hospital

How exciting!

RiaButterflew · 01/08/2009 22:34

bugger, have run out of sensations

DH still out. that will naff his hours up for this week, but I suppose it won't matter now he's not tied to 16. and it must mean he's busy. He would be very of your knives Norty. apparently they don't make the ones he had at college (and lent to MIL when his XW made him give up cooking. MIL lost them/gave them away. As she always does with other peoples stuff) so Sabatier are his 2nd best. Damned expensive IMO though. DHs knife box is our most expensive possesion

anyway, my sorry tale of a holiday...the traffic was awful on Saturday, so we weren't going to arrive in time for the thing I wanted to go to (a "street market", which is a bit like a communal fete for all the hamlets/tiny village churches and playgroups, held in one village) so we called on MIL. As soon as we arrived in teh Dales DH got a voicemail from MIL to say his DD had been rushed into hospital after a riding accident. So he spent the night on the phone trying to find out what was going on, while I tried to unpack, cook and stop the kids running riot. I just wanted to come home. He left on Sunday morning anyway, to come home and go to the hospital (can you believe her mum didn't bother visit her the 2nd day in hospital? She is 21, but still ). So we didn't do any walking, then my parents came up early so I wasn't on my own, and it rained all week Also DM marched the kids the the Clarks outlet and bought trainers for DS1&2, which made me feel like shitey benefit mummy (although I am massively grateful for it, but there was no need for them to have clarks trainers). And on the last niht DS2 (wh has been dry at night for ages) wet the bed as he is a bit off-colour again, and DM was stompiong about stripping beds and going on about pull-ups etc. I did have a nice time, but it wasn't the holiday I'd planned IYSWIM. I read Angela's Ashes though, and I loved it.(even though the first 3 nights it disturbed my sleep)

Poor DSD has broken her back though. No-one seems to know how long she'll be inhospital or anything. Though I have to say all the news that is coming to us is a bit at short recovery times and not much treatment etc. I thought back injuries were more serious.

sorry for long post

RiaButterflew · 01/08/2009 22:35

woo-hoo for Fury

GOOD LUCK!!!

LittleMissNorty · 01/08/2009 22:52

Poor DSD Ria . How horrible.

Is DS2 better now? My DD has a habit of pulling off her jammy bottoms and removing her nappy then weeing all over the bed . Luckily I bought a bed with a waterproof mattress but....

Yes, the knives were quite expensive, but were £40 off and hopefully will last.

Got some infant gaviscon yesterday. Doesn't seem to be making much difference so far. Does anyone know if its a cumulative effect or instant?

MakkaPakkasWilly · 01/08/2009 23:17

Norty Gaviscon didn't work for us when DS had reflux.

We used carobel which is prescription only but worked much better - it's a thickener, basically.

MakkaPakkasWilly · 01/08/2009 23:18

I am waiting for my mum to arrive and look after DS so I can go to hospital!

RiaButterflew · 01/08/2009 23:25

how long will it take her to arrive fury?

justbeme · 01/08/2009 23:27

MPW - I take it you've spoken to the hospital and they are ok with you waiting for you're Mum?? When I had a MC, we were able to call an ambulance and I went in on my own as my then DH had to stay at home with my DD1 as it was the middle of the night and she was asleep.

It sounds abit scary - are you ok?

MakkaPakkasWilly · 01/08/2009 23:28

dunno - in good traffic about an hour but she got stuck in traffic, she has been a while

Doesn't seem to be progressing at an alarming rate though so am ok atm. Painful though!

MakkaPakkasWilly · 01/08/2009 23:28

JBM they said if I feel the need to push to get an ambulance otherwise am ok!
