Natty! I bet I don't get a lie in weekend or no. Think I've had about 3 or 4 over the past couple of years!

TheNattyTheHippy · 02/10/2009 16:57

this is my first since charlie was born, due to dh being up all night as well in pain.

have been looking forward to it allll week.

remind me again what age babies are supposed to start sleeping thru??

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 02/10/2009 17:21

Natty, it was 10 months with Jamlet.

OK, have any of you lovely ladies done the MN bookclub thing? I haven't yet but rather fancied this month's so got it from Amazon and it arrived today. Got until Oct 20th to read it (so that'll be tight) but not sure what to expect from the discussion.

TheNattyTheHippy · 02/10/2009 17:57

no jammy ihavent, what is this months book?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 02/10/2009 18:47

This Booker Prize shortlisted ghost story.

TheNattyTheHippy · 02/10/2009 18:49

is it long? if not i could read it with you

LittleMissNorty · 02/10/2009 19:54

Hello

We went to a farm today to see the animals and play. It was half empty (due to E Coli worries no doubt) and at 2.30pm we had the place to ourselves as everyone went on the school run! DD and DS had a whale of a time with their friend whilst me and my mate had a natter . It was lovely weather as well and the kids loved it. K stayed dry all day and actually asked to use the potty and done her first wee on the big toilet tonight - unprompted!

DD sounds like she is a little behind on the getting undressed stakes!

God, I haven't read a book since I was pg with DD

LittleMissNorty · 02/10/2009 19:55

Natty, E is 8 months old (today) and still not sleeping through

ameRIAcansmooth · 02/10/2009 22:19

I haven't jammy, I feel like I would be outof my depth

sounds fab Norty. I was hoping the local farms would have some offers on due to people not going as I love a good farm (sod the kids, we go for me

DH brought home a MASSIVE joint of gammon tongiht - far bigger than I would ever buy (gift from butcher). Think I will get him to joint it and we will freeze it for xmas. I think I will look out for another freezer if he is going to get perks from his suppliers, it has served us well over the years having a few bits of meat in reserve for his "resting" periods. As for the job, I think he's staying put for the time being (it could take ages for them to sell up) and just keeping an ear to the ground. I am stil annoyed, but I suppose it's Dh who matters. And I supose if he feels so moved he could make himself so indispensible (sp?) that they don't want to sell or the new people keep him on? (I am not good at the bright side)

I went to the library tonight with just one child (DS2, so no need to be on edge either - DS1 about what he would say or baggins who likes to wreck the shelves) and as well as a cross stitch book, 2 cake decorating books (I have big plans for xmas cakes) and a desserts book (James Martin - for DH, honest) I got this I am very excited.

LatinDAISYcal · 02/10/2009 23:19

Norty that is not such a bad thing, believe me....DD was trying to take her t-shirt off in the supermarket last week!

Natty, 10 months for bumble....how is the BFing going? loving your sling pics and the turquoise MEOS looks fab!

Phew busy day; childrens centre then I had a meeting with my local area coordinator for nappies, school run, teatime, bedtime and then I WENT OUT . A close friend of mine had organised it and I was really nervous as I only really knew her and a couple of other people. However, she had to call off asher DS was taken to hospital with bronchiolitis and is really poorly . Lots of others called off too as friend is the glue holding everyone together, so it was me, another mum who I know from stay and play, a mum who I knew vaguely when DD was little but haven't seen in 18 months and another woman who I didn't know at all....and I had a really good time. Even three months ago I wouldn't have gone, or if I had would have felt horribly out of my depth so this is progress!! Anyhoo had tapas and wine and chat and abandoned my car...lovely.

home to a really unsettled bumble though

Dd did well with potty today, and although she had a poo on the kitchen floor, she managed to get all wees in the potty, and told me she needed. Although we need to get the terminology right as she tiold me several times that she was "doing" when she really meant "needed". I got me running though!!!

Gammon sounds lovely Ria. We are going to have a huge ham for Christmas this year as neither of us are particularly fond of turkey. We have a fridge full of grated cheddar at the minute as DH is relaunching it so has done a comparative shop....the other week we had more Jarlsberg than we could shake a stick at.....this is seriously NOT helping my diet.

rambling, too much wine sorry!!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 03/10/2009 12:29

Jamlet is also behind in the getting undressed stakes. But that's one thing I'm not so concerned about!

Local 2nd hand sale this morning: 2 skirts, 1 pair trousers, 2 tshirts, 1 jumper, a painting apron, a jigsaw and a spare potty, all for £6.90 Another one next weekend where we are selling as well as buying.

I've started the MN book of the month (~500 pages Natty) and it's been great so far (first chapter). Trouble is I don't want to do any chores this afternoon now .

Fondue and snowballs for tea tonight

ameRIAcansmooth · 03/10/2009 16:08

I have been to a local-ish food festival today, and bought masses of sausages for DH to use at work. The boys watched a cookery demonstration by the chef from The Star Inn at Harome (very famous round these parts apparently, we haven't been). Got lost on the way out of the town though, so I am exhausted now. Just want the kids to go away and let me curl up under a blanket!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 03/10/2009 19:19

Hope you have a nice relaxing evening then Ria

We had fondue. Have had 2 glasses of wine and now starting on the snowballs!

TheNattyTheHippy · 03/10/2009 19:50

great finds at the boot fair jammy

charlie slept 12-6.30, not bad going at all for him.

glad you liked the pictures daisy, i have developed quite a taste for blue atm! although ive had to put all the dyed nappies through another wash cos ellens bum was a bit blue tinged this morning lol.

breastfeeding going well, no problems other then persistant thrush which is being treated then going away for a few weeks then coming back.
the bf is playing havoc with my cycle too, i was due on 2 weeks ago
.. at least i hope its just the bf!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 03/10/2009 20:25

that the breast feeding is going well Natty. SOrry you're having such a hard time though.

Feel like doing something really nice tomorrow, but no idea what to suggest

LatinDAISYcal · 03/10/2009 20:46

natty, how is the thrush being treated?

you need fluconazole tablets for you, nystatin drops for Charlie and cream for your nipples. fluconazole should be 150mg to 300mg loading dose followed by 50-100mg twice daily for AT LEAST 10 days! Have you got the BfN leaflet?

Also, wash your bras at 60 degrees as it can survive a 40 degree wash.

bargainacious jammy

We have had a fab day potty training today with Dd taking herself off to the potty without even telling us and although DH put a nappy on her when they went on a 45minute walk to get the car this morning (I left it at the restaurant last night so I could drink wine!!) she told him she was having a wee halfway there. She even managed to get two poos in it today as well One thing though, she has big red weals where the potty has come into contact with her thighs ....any ideas? Can you be allergic to potty plastic?

maybe batterfly; we'll see how it goes. I've started a thread in potty training.

Why the name change? And how are you? How are things with DH?

TheNattyTheHippy · 03/10/2009 22:28

daisy it took a week to squeeze all of that out my gp, but have had that treatment twice to no avail. also hot washed bras, towels, bedding, pjs, underwear, charlies clothes and bedding. also treated ellen and thomas with gel, just in case. also steralised all pump and bottles parts, chucked all the dummies and replaced them all, put all charlies toys in sterliser or washing machine.
reading that back i think i went a bit over board at last infection

i seem to be in a pattern with it, i get it downstairs first, then i get it in my nipples then deep in the breast tissue. clears up after 2 weeks of treatment, back within another 1-2.

to be honest its a pain, but i can put up with it and keep treating it, it will go away eventually, doc is upping the dose at each treatment, i think its a case of finding the right level to wipe it out.

touch wood, i dont feel it coming on again this time tho.

potty i found the same problem with tom, just move her to a toilet asap, we have a double toilet seat so the kids use our toilet no problems, even ellen. (when she feels like it that is)

LatinDAISYcal · 03/10/2009 22:45

I didn't get completely free of it until DD was about six months old Natty and agree it is a PITA (or should that be PITB ). I took green Australian bushflower essence on Annobal's recommendation and it seemed to help. Grapeseed extract is meant to be good as well. Or there is always the Harcombe Diet but not sure about that one and BFing; might be a bit too extreme.

LatinDAISYcal · 03/10/2009 22:46

Ria, local food fair sounds good; I love things like that, but always ending upo spending waaaaaay too much money on things that we never actually eat, like a pound of pickled garlic at the last one

durr halloween of course; I was thinking batter as in yorkshire puds and pancakes...and fish suppers

that's good about DH; if he is recognising that there is something not quite right then that's half the battle. Good Luck with it all
