Morning

I was also awake at that time Natty . DS has a bit of a cold with a horrible cough and it woke him up last night about 11 and he didn't settle till 1am....very unusual for him but he obviously wanted mummy. Then poxy dog woke me up to go out at 3am then DS for a feed at 5.30am. DS is still asleep now

Hope Jamlet is feeling better Jammy, and you lot Daisy.

We spent the day here yesterday. DD was sooooo excited. It was Meet the Animals time when we (finally) got there (fucking sat nav sent me two miles away) and it was like "Big Barn Farm". She was squealing with excitment and went upto a duck and said "hello mr duck, QUACK QUACK" . She has no fear that child.....went bombing up to a sheep and dug her hands into his wool and then fed him, and he then chased her round the paddock hoping for more! Its also the home of the Daily Mail's Tamworth Two - Butch and Sundance

Nursery day for me ....but don't feel like doing very much.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 30/07/2009 11:19

Sounds like a good day out Norty. We are going out with DD's nursery tomorrow (as she doesn't normally attend on Fridays I have to go too so that they don't exceed the child to adult ratio). We are going here. We took her there June 2008 and it was good, but I think she'll enjoy it even more this time

MakkaPakkasWilly · 30/07/2009 12:42

I really, really want this

LackaDAISYcal · 30/07/2009 13:35

I'd love an icecream maker, but have the feeling it'll be another thing that sits on the shelf not being used, along with the george foreman grill and the smoothie maker.

lol jammy, that's the place that MNer set up her bloke...you know the penguin thread?
Looks good though.

I hope DS2 is OK Norty; it isn't SF is it? with him being sick as well....

bumble still not great here; he is throwing up when he coughs now, but not sure about taking him to the docs as he doesn't have a temperature; just a cough and a bit wheezy/snotty.

OP posts:
LittleMissNorty · 30/07/2009 13:46

Daisy, you could be describing my DS there - no temp (so not SF), bit snotty and wheezy (I've lifted the end of his cot) and puking after a coughing fit. Unfortunately he spewed yesterday all over a really nice outfit I got in the next sale the other week and cos he's being weaned and he puked spinach all over it, its ruined and I can't get the stain out

I've got an ice cream maker and it is lovely. A punnet of strawberries (as they are), pot of cream, bit of sugar and some milk and 20 minutes later....yum! Not very good for my gall bladder though

MakkaPakkasWilly · 30/07/2009 14:12

Norty if I give you DH's email address will you please plead my case with me?

Sputnik · 30/07/2009 14:17

Surely those are a dime a dozen on ebay?

Hope poorly DCs perk up soon.

MakkaPakkasWilly · 30/07/2009 14:27

erm if £77 is a dime a dozen then yes I suppose so

muchostinky · 30/07/2009 14:34

Hey Daisy and MPW!

I don't post very often, so not very memorable! Lol

My DS and I are good - just about to go back to work and am so excited! Can't believe it has been 2 and a half years since I had a paid job!

MPW - a icecream maker would be sooo nice. I will say 'get one, you will use it all of the time' for you to your DH...

MakkaPakkasWilly · 30/07/2009 14:37

I promised to make mint choc chip and rum and raisin and he said I could have it!

I know the way to a mans heart... definitely via their stomach

Blow jobs help too I suspect, but that would be me lowering the tone again

MakkaPakkasWilly · 30/07/2009 14:37

Stinky what sort of work do you do?

How often do you lurk??

MakkaPakkasWilly · 30/07/2009 14:38

it's weird I feel like someone knows me and I don't know them!

TheNatty · 30/07/2009 14:38

norty mine always did that to their nice clothes.
charlie now does that as soon as he is dressed after a bath..

ellen drank a bottle of infacol this morning.. NHS direct have assured me she wont be poisioned

Sputnik · 30/07/2009 14:52

I think I am going crazy here, DD has been on holiday for a month already and DS has been going to the nursery very little as we can't really afford it atm. It's too hot to go out after about 12 and there FA to do anyway.

DS had an incident yesterday where he was playing with a tub of chlorine that really shouldn't have been left around. He is ok but I feel really guilty and anxious about it.
I am seriously going mad.

Next summer we are definitely going to the UK or somewhere else with crap weather because I can't stand it here.

LackaDAISYcal · 30/07/2009 14:59

sorry your DC are driving you nuts sputnik and for the incident with the chlorine, but......

We can do a house swap for six weeks if you like?

OP posts:
muchostinky · 30/07/2009 15:14

MPW - Bj's with icecream involved could also be a serious selling point for him! Lol
I am sorry to tell you that I lurk most days, but don't worry - I get confused with who says what sometimes so I probably don't know that much!

It will be a crappy Call centre job, but it is going to be nice to have some non mummy friends, do you know what I mean. That and money at last.

Sputnik · 30/07/2009 15:16

I'd do it! My kids are actually not too bad, it's me that's the problem.

But remember how you were all moaning a couple of weeks ago when it stopped raining for a few days and possibly got up to 30° a couple of times!

My sister says the same thing, she just cycled from Land's End to John o Groats in the rain. She is mad!

TheNatty · 30/07/2009 15:17

id be up for that too

i have just listed all of charlies newborn nappies.. sniffs
he doesnt fit them anymore....
he has grown out of his tiny babygrows too

another one maybe? just one?

Sputnik · 30/07/2009 15:20

Muchostinky I see exactly where you are coming from (on the working thing more than the blow jobs).
I work a bit from home but recently been considering looking for a "proper" job, both for the money and to feel less isolated.

Anyway, good luck with it, and you should post more, we need the bums on seats on this thread these days!

LackaDAISYcal · 30/07/2009 15:26

I want an out of the home paying job as well.....if only to escape from small children and husbands for a bit, but DH's hours means evenings are pretty mucvh out as he can't guarantee to be home at a certain time, so it would mean weekends and then DH and I never seeing each other....

....mind you

yes, lurk less muchostinky, we neeeeeed you (manic squint eyed )

aw natty, he didn't last long in NB nappies did he? I sold my size 1 tots, so that's all my unneeded nappies gone, except for an XL minky yoyo and a small baby beehinds wrap.

OP posts:
muchostinky · 30/07/2009 15:27

I am trying to post more - I promise!

Thanks for the good luck - start on the 10th, but for seemingly endless training of 9 weeks!

I am sure in a couple of months I will be moaning about working and wishing I could just stay at home with DS again.

The isolated thing is totally right, I do have friends, but not many as I have just moved back to be near my Mum and Dad. Some friends who don't know me would be nice - I miss all the 'crap' you speak about at work and some banter with a nice new bloke would be good too!

LackaDAISYcal · 30/07/2009 15:40

are you on your own with DS then MoS?

OP posts:
muchostinky · 30/07/2009 15:45

I am now - me and DS's Dad split up about a year ago now.

Need to get back into the 'men' scene!

LittleMissNorty · 30/07/2009 15:51

I'm working next Wednesday to cover some annual leave. DD is going to nursery and my mum is coming here to have DS - I have to say I can't WAIT....not cos of the work, but I'm going to park myself in the tea room and have a whole cup of tea and lunch with NO CHILDREN .

I just hope I can remember how to do my job

Glad to hear DS is ok Sputnik - don't beat yourself up about it....these things happen. I could write a list as long as your arm!

Do post more MoS - I only joined when PN (although I expect you know that) so don't know you and this thread has gone so quiet recently.

Urgh, blow jobs and ice cream....the very thought makes me want to gag!

LackaDAISYcal · 30/07/2009 15:51

aw that's a shame, but good on you for wanting to get back in the saddle as it were .....it took me over two years after I had DS, and then it was back with his dad!!

I am meant to be packing, but I really cannot be arsed.

Off out for some fresh air in between rainshowers and hopefully bumble will sleep in the pram.
