have a lovely day Jammy; sounds like an interesting one! Looking forward to the pics on FB

lol at legs akimbo as well. DD does the same, or throws her legs wide and goes digging....and I though it was only little boys that couldn't leave their bits alone.

right off to bed; saturday is my lie in day...yipee

No lie in for me this morning

bumble is a spotty grotmonster this morning so we have been on the phone to the local OOH service all morning. It looks like an allergic reaction and I'm a bit worried as he had some of the chocolate from the end of my pseudo snickers bar yesterday and the only thing we can think that he hasn't had before was peanuts. the nurse I spoke to first was concerned about that, the doctor I spoke to said it's probably a viral rash, but it's like no viral rash I've seen before.

Taking him to the docs at 9.

LittleMissNorty · 05/09/2009 10:07

Awww hope he is ok x

LittleMissNorty · 05/09/2009 10:11

Daisy, am I right in thinking you have moved to Virgin Media? Can you help me here?

Ria - did you see my FB message when you got home? I need your PP addy!

LackaDAISYcal · 05/09/2009 10:52

norty, have answered but not much help i'm afraid.

doc says bumble has pityriasis rosea, which could last for weeks. I'm worried now as I had a strange rash last weekend that disappeared after a couple of days, and this rash starts like that, a patch that clears up followed by a more widespread rash up to two weeks later.

garhg grumpy children; gotta go

RIAlityBites · 05/09/2009 16:26

poor bumble, but at least it'snot a reaction to the chocolate. Hope it isn't too stressful and he is better soon.

I did see your message Norty, sorry I never got round to replying, it was only pence, son't worry.

Been to town to try and find a wedding outfit (no joy) and buy DS1s bits and pieces for his trip. And got my embroidery stuff, though the wrong fabric, hope it still works out OK, got DH to drop us off on his way to work, and typically because we were running late he was out of work at 2pm on the dot and had been waiting over half an hour when we met him. Tesco was a nightmare, next week I'm doing it online.

LackaDAISYcal · 05/09/2009 20:06

evening...is there anyone about?

Ria, not convinced by the doctor's assessment as the rash has all but disappeared and I think it actually was an allergic reaction. The OOH doc said to get him allergy checked just in case.

the poor wee mite has horrible nappy rash though . I kept getting a whiff of something, but when I looked in the back of his dispo nappy it was clean. We thought he was just letting off smelly farts. He was really creating just before teatime and was on my lap but bouncing up and down and crying....still getting the whiff, and he was a bit soggy, so I thought I'd change him....turns out that because he had been crawling around, and it was quite a runny poo, it had all gone down to the front of his nappy and he was red raw He must have been sitting in the poo for at least two hours ...so, some egg white, calpol and a loose real nappy with a silk liner and a couple hours later and it looked much better. Egg white rocks as he didn't even squeal when he did a wee!

I'm a fishing widow tonight. good job as Dh and I had serious words this morning, in front of the children as well and I was soooo angry at him; getting at me when I'm finally just starting to feel better about things. And of course DS1 reacted in the only way he knows how and that was to act up big style at teatime/bedtime.

But, on a positive note, after we had made up we tackled some...ahem...spring cleaning together and our bedroom is spotless.

And I have a fucking brilliant idea for a real nappy accessory that is going to make my fortune ....now if only I knew how to bloody well sew and had access to a sewing machine.

Back from the wedding. Was lovely And Jamlet was a star! Lots of other little girls there who adored her , though I think they thought she was a walking dolly . But she seemed to like the attention and playing with the bigger girls. A group of them sat on a bench together and I took a lovely photo, but knelt on a rotten windfall apple in the process and got stung by one of the wasps that was gorging on it Still nearly 39 years before my first wasp sting, so can't complain. Thankfully I don't seem to have inherited my Mum's nasty wasp allergy, but I took an antihistamine tablet in case.

LackaDAISYcal · 05/09/2009 22:20

aaaw jammy, jamlet sounds very sweet. It's great when older girls are around as they do really dote on babies and toddlers

for your wasp sting though and the squishy apple; I hope your outfit wasn't ruined!

No Daisy, it was fine. Olive green trousers didn't really show up a browny-green mark thankfully. And it was dinnertime by then (took Jamlet out for a walk round between course) so legs under the table anyhow Dinner was great - paella followed by a huge slice of delicious choc tart. Yum yum yum! But unfortunately we had to go before the coffee/champagne/wedding cake cup cakes And I don't know how long my brother's speech was - there was a sweep on it and I had 8min 45sec.

Right, last bits of packing to do this morning and then we're off to Devon for a few days. See you on Friday!

RIAlityBites · 06/09/2009 08:26

Have a good holiday Jammy, hope you get better weather than we had!

daisy. I actually had a dream that I left DH the other night. It is hard work ATM, and I end up having to be extra nice and not get cross because if he's not at work/idling about, he's as grumpy as hell. It is not helped by DM going on abou him being lazy around the house, because actually it's true, but I have to defend him. Am hoping things improve when the boys back at school (obviously they will, because I'll have more time to get stuff done.) Grrr.

Think i'm going to head off to the boot sale today, as the weather has turned so much it might be the last one worth the trip. The it's frantic ironing and getting ready for tomorrow.

LittleMissNorty · 06/09/2009 11:50

Have a good holiday Jammy

LackaDAISYcal · 07/09/2009 11:43

gosh it's quiet here.

I've been busy with the grand declutter scheme all weekend and have finally made some headway; you can see the floor in our bedroom and the office/spare room now!

My computer was playing up last night internet kept crashing, computer shutting itself down and then mumsnet wouldn't load and facebook was all over the place. I kept getting someone elses profile (a bloke called eric something or other), and then it was all mixed up with mine overlapping text etc, it's lost a load of my applications and some of my scrabble games have just diappeared. I ran a virus check and it came up fine, so I've contacted facebook and am still waiting for a reply. Very odd.

OP posts:
LittleMissNorty · 07/09/2009 13:10

very odd Daisy ....have they got back to you yet?

Bloody hot here today...I know I shouldn't complain but....

This thread is very quiet these days...I was reading a thread the other day about missing MNers and Bumper's name was mentioned. There was a time when we could have filled up a thread in a few days! Perhaps we should just keep up on FB? Mind you that bloody game is so addictive, I try not to go on FB too much!

LackaDAISYcal · 07/09/2009 13:38

they haven't norty, but I've just seen on another friends profile a note about fancheck photos having a virus? I didn't use that one, but I used the friend.ly application the other day. Can't find it in my applications list though to delete it so maybe it's been taken out already? most odd.

DD and I have just harvested the rest of our carrots, onions and beetroot and started on the parsnips (although they have taken some digging to get them out; the longest one was 2 foot long ). Also picked all the tomatoes....anyone know what to do with 3lb of green tomatoes? not a single one has ripened

OP posts:
LackaDAISYcal · 07/09/2009 13:40

I saw bumper's name on the missing MNer's thread, but she is around still. There were loads of names on that list though and I was thinking "oh, I was just talking to them this morning/yesterday/last week"

OP posts:
LittleMissNorty · 07/09/2009 13:54

will they not ripen on the windowsill Daisy?

I haven't seen Bumper on MN for ages

LackaDAISYcal · 07/09/2009 14:09

the only windowsill big enough and sunny enough is the kitchen one, and it has anti reflective type glass in it, so they don't even ripen there.

I think I need a recipe for green tomato chutney.

I saw bumper had posted a couple of weeks ago. foxy is absent too, but with four DC the summer hols must be pretty lively!!

DS1 back at school today...woooo hooooo!

I have so much stuff to sort out, I just don't know where to start!

OP posts:
LittleMissNorty · 07/09/2009 14:29

here you go mmmmm

LittleMissNorty · 07/09/2009 14:31

and this

RIAlityBites · 07/09/2009 14:33

bloody hell! you'd gone from "threads I'm on" again!!!

RIAlityBites · 07/09/2009 14:39

don't you put them in a brown paper bag with a banana? green tomatoes I mean!

I don't want to permanetly de-camp to FB just yet. Please! I hate FB ATM - DH is addicted to fecking Farmville, and our friends are playing out their divorce through their profile comments.

Have been to freeport this morning, we went straight after taking DS2 to school (despite all the worry and uease he ran off happily to join the line that was already on it's way in, despite the whistle only having gone seconds earlier!), so we were there by just after 9.30, and it was deserted. Had baggins and DS1s shoes bought by 10am. Baggins is an 8F, DS1 has finally gone up to a 51/2G, just hope his trainers will last a bit longer (they have a little growing room don't they? Mum bought him them from clarks in the summer) and I am hoping his football boots are a 6, as he hates it so much I don't want to buy any more.

Didn't find an outfit for the wedding though, or any shoes for DH (who has gone for a lie down). Am so stressed by it I had a yumyum and a pasta salad from Tesco, which has so much mayo in it I will be ill for a week.

Nearly time to collect DS2 - can't wait

I saw bumper on a thread the other day too, though we didn't "speak", she has a new name.

Sputnik · 07/09/2009 16:40

Never tried it with tomatoes, but I put an avocado in a bag with a banana to ripen and it worked a treat.

I've not been around too much lately, as still settling in here, still have furniture and stuff to build and meanwhile DD has started school. But we are settling in, and there are some things I really like about being here. Also appreciated our old house/area more when we went back at the weekend (although I spent the entire time cleaning as it is a mess after the chaos of moving), so, so far so good.

FrazzledFairyFay · 07/09/2009 17:38

Please don't all de-camp to facebook. I don't post as often as I did, but I am very much still here. I just don't seem to have much to contribute at the moment.

RIAlityBites · 07/09/2009 18:44

I have well and truly had ENOUGH!
