Phew, back!

got caught up in the round of tea, baths, bed, more food for Mr D and I as the chinese we ordered for tea had two things missing and we were still hungry, settling grumpoy teething babies and playing bejewelled blirx and scrabble

something strange is happening here...I seem to have recovered my mojo . Poor MrD is begging for a rest tonight!! Is this the start of the PND fog lifting? I bloody hope so!

It's those weird forren spices in the chinese Daisy
So, we are officially in our new house as of this week, we have everything essential except a hob and a bed, and DD starts school on thursday. Went there this morning for an introduction, I am going to be doing a lot of driving!
It is bloody hot here, and I am staring at some very white walls.

LackaDAISYcal · 01/09/2009 17:03

white walls .

Good Luck in the new pad Sputnik. Are you renting out your old place or selling it eventually? or is it far enough out of Rome to be a "holiday" home?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 01/09/2009 20:29

Oooh, good luck in the new house Sputnik, and with school for DD.

LackaDAISYcal · 01/09/2009 20:42

evening Jammy.

Well I sent off for my nappy starter kit from Lollipop today...the ball is well and truly rolling on the nappy front. I've even got a regualr demo gig lined up

OP posts:
JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 01/09/2009 21:12

great news Daisy.

I've got the ball rolling today as well. I've contacted the HV to ask about Jamlet's speech so we are being visited on Friday, but she doesn't think it sounds serious from what I described over the phone. But she will come with some ideas for encouraging more verbal communication and a DVD we can borrow I also booked Jamlet into the creche so I can go to the gym tomorrow, and opened a savings account, and ticked a few more things off my to do list

Sputnik · 01/09/2009 23:07

Jammy, you are probably doing this, but we found mmusic a huge help with both of them for speech, DS is still a toddler of few words, but he'll try and sing along with his favourite songs. He also likes DVDs with simple language, like Maisy, and will repeat words as he watches them.

We will be going back to our mountain hideout for weekends and the summer (tg, as it's really unbearably hot here), we might try renting it out for the odd week, but we'd have to do quite a bit of work on it, not to mention clearing out of crap.

RIAlityBites · 01/09/2009 23:33

In that case I'll postpone the chinese I thought we might have tomorrow

good luck with the move and school sputnik.

a late happy birthday to JBM

hi everyone

Sputnik · 01/09/2009 23:46

Welcome back Ria

Have you all seen this

Having a tough time atm.....a dear family friend is losing her fight for life and I am sitting by the phone feeling very helpless so probably won't be around for a few days

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 02/09/2009 08:19

Oh Norty, sorry about your friend. And sorry you are feeling helpless

LackaDAISYcal · 02/09/2009 09:33

Sorry about your friend Norty .

Welcome back Ria . I hope the weather wasn't too much of a washout for you; it's been awful here!

OP posts:
LackaDAISYcal · 02/09/2009 09:48

LackaDAISYcal · 02/09/2009 12:16

bloody hell natty, that's keen!

I have just done something rash and spur of the moment that has cost me nearly £200 and will probably incur the wrath of DH. I'm considering not telling him!

OP posts:
RIAlityBites · 02/09/2009 12:25

if he's not going to find out then don't bother. I am anti-DHs today

TheNatty · 02/09/2009 12:32

lol ria me too, mine has been up all night watching telly and refusing to get out of bed, leaving me to deal with all 4 kids. joy

i agree daisy, dont tell him. what did u do?

LackaDAISYcal · 02/09/2009 13:11

I've signed up for a correspondence course in proofreading on the spur of the moment, but my subsequent googling and searching on here has suggested it might just be a waste of money . I can get a refund though if I send it all right back.

OP posts:
RIAlityBites · 02/09/2009 13:31

daisy. When I left school I was meant to be training as a proofreader, but the twats managers put me in the typesetting room instead. No wonder my life went arse up from then on the person who got my job got sacked within 3 months too.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 02/09/2009 14:05

Hope you do get your money back if that's what you want, Daisy.

Went to the gym this morning. Legs aching now but not too bad considering I haven't been for ages. And Jamlet went into the creche no bother Then we went to the children's centre and had cauliflower cheese for lunch. I'm hoping she'll fall asleep in a moment, as she was dead tired as we left there, but I can hear her upstairs and it isn't sounding hopeful But I have got stuff to do in preparation for DB's wedding on Saturday and us going on holiday on Sunday so could do with her having a good sooze.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 02/09/2009 14:53

Childish but funny

Creamed possum anyone?
