aw, hope you both aren't in for a rough night. still, you can have a lie in tomorrow, no?

DH and I are getting to the stage where we are trying to "out ignore" each other where crying babies are concerned .....

PFB....baby cries, you jump to your feet and run to them as fast as you can

second baby....cries and you walk upstairs carefully, hoping they will be back asleep by the time you get there.

third (whingy wakeful) baby....your heart sinks as soon as you hear a whimper from them and you pray your OH will attend to them first

Going to get my head down while I can...night x

need sleep...

friends stayed til after midnight. they also drank over 3 bottles of red between them!

was going to walk along the beach to lifeboat day this morning, but the tide is not on our side til later.

good to see you back daisy. hope you had a good time.

RIAlityBites · 16/08/2009 22:01

quiet tonight?

fury, noticed your FB profile, hope you're OK.

well, after a snooze with baggins I gave them all a ham roll to eat as we were going and we did the walk. It took about 30 mins from our house to the beach (but along the road so I could use the pushchair andhad no opportunity to get stuck on a stile), then it was probably a little less than that to walk along the beach to town. The tide had only just gone out, in town we had to leave the beach and use the prom footpath as the seawall was still covered. There was a free magic show for the boys to watch and I bought a small fish and chips for us to share - they scoffed the lot while I was talking to my friend, so we had to have another one! (my lunch), we walked up the steepest hill in town to buy some wine for DH (our friends having drunk his stash last night) and then throught he gardens, back to the beach for ice-cream, and home. DH collected us when we got to the holiday village on the cliff top, saving us half an hour! A lovely day

Am a bit that DH has gone off to York again though> He is only away tonight and tomorrow, home Tuesday lunch, but I had plans for tomorrow.

LackaDAISYcal · 16/08/2009 22:42

sounds like a lovely day Ria but bummer about DH being away.

fury; take it easy lovely

Had a busy busy day here; writing up my reviews for MB and cleaning down all the fecking dust from the house as well as lingering admiringly in my spanky new bathroom for much longer than was really necessary.

had some bad news tonight though ; not sure if I mentioned it, but my big big sister was having problems with her eyesight a while ago? Well, although her eyesight is improving they sent her for a brain scan and it turns out she has Multiple Sclerosis . she's had a few minor but mystery illnesses over the last few years which have been down to the MS and says it;s all fitting together now that she has this diagnosis. Thankfully it isn't aggressive, or at least it isn't at the moment, but because of the nature of the disease they can't say how it will progress or even manifest itself. Life is fucking shit sometimes isn't it? She is 48, has two grown up and flown the nest children and she and my BIL are nearly mortgage free and able to enjoy life to the full and then this happens . She said she still managed to climb a mountain on holiday in spite of it and is determined to keep going and not give in to it without a fight! I admire her spirit, but she's my big sis and I'm scared for her

Awww Daisy.......how horrible. Life is so unfair sometimes.

Glad you had a good day Ria - my dad was a lifeboat enthusiast....I visit lifeboats in his memory now

Right, off to hospital tomorrow....absolutely shitting myself and dreading being away from the DCs and have organised DH and my mum within an inch of their lives.....but hey, I'll be back tuesday (I hope) with nothing else better to do than MN (I wish....) and a curry to love forward to on Saturday.

Holiday (and bathroom) photo's Daisy???

Night all (well Ria and Daisy anyway) x

RIAlityBites · 16/08/2009 22:52

daisy, my aunt got a DX in the last year or so after being ill on and off since before she married my uncle maybe 50 years ago. Hope it all turns out OK for her.

of your new bathroom, I keep looking at ours and thinking it was only new before DS2 was born. Bugger the mould.

good luck norty! (must talk trousers with you and daisy when you're back)

off to bed. run out of naughty food and have had my quota of wine tonight. Plus have sore eyes.

Might be here a lot tomorrow though...

RIAlityBites · 16/08/2009 22:56

can you not eat til the weekend then? or is that when you expect to feel up to it? (nosey cow)

Am really going now.

Next time I go to the lifeboat station I'll think of you then - I like a purpose to my visits, today I got to think of my gran and her sister walking to the beach with me when I was little - potted meat sandwiches, walking the paths we walked today... I wonder what they used to put juice in back then when there wasn't "drinks bottles"? It's funny but I can't remember the time spent on the beach, just the walk there and back

night all.

LackaDAISYcal · 16/08/2009 23:02

Positive vibes for tomorrow Norty; it isn't so bad really; better than a CS for sure . Make sure you get good pain meds for at least 12 hours afterwards though as that was the worst bit. I got sent home with nothing stronger than paracetomol and felt OK. Worst thing was overdoing it because it didn't look or feel too bad, but it's all hidden on the inside. Stretching was uncomfortable for ages.

OP posts:
LittleMissNorty · 17/08/2009 07:59

Thanks ladies.....on nil by mouth now...not that I could eat anything anyway. If they cancel me I shall be very pissed off having steeled myself (and taken off the nail varnish on my toes!)

Fab holiday pics Daisy....you are a very good photographer

LackaDAISYcal · 17/08/2009 08:32

Aw thanks norty.....I would love digital SLR, but probably wouldn't be able to use it. My wee compact is great as it has a kids and pets function which helps catch the moment better than my old one.

nothing worse than being nil by mouth for making you feel hungry and thirsty

I am a bad mummy; pissing about on FB and MN while both of my children have pooey nappies

I have lost a stone in 2 weeks

How?

Don't eat anything and breastfeed

simples!

LackaDAISYcal · 17/08/2009 10:40

fucking vodafone.....can't get through to them; just get a message saying use our website help screen. Can't remeber my login details and they have sent a security number to my phone so I can log in, but the screen is faulty (the reason I need to talk to them in the first place) and I can't read the effing security code...aaaaaarrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhh

OP posts:
LackaDAISYcal · 17/08/2009 10:41

ha MPW....i did that with both Dd and bumble, then it stabilised and started creeping up again

I've started SW today though and am hungry already.

OP posts:
MakkaPakkasWilly · 17/08/2009 10:53

I still have 4 stone to lose so hopefully it will keep coming off for a little bit longer.

And then there is always Alli.

I bought an avent breast pump, however, it is shit. Do you reckon mothercare will give me my money back? I am going to go down the 'not fit for purpose' route.

RIAlityBites · 17/08/2009 12:01

morning.

I want a day off!

Do you think the grandparents will notice if I don't come back from the hairdressers tomorrow?

SW here too daisy. I had lost a stone, but some of it found me again. Got to give it 100% this week as maybe going away again next week.

LackaDAISYcal · 17/08/2009 12:03

you could try with Mothercare, but their customer service is pretty shit ime.

Is it the electric or hand one? I have the hand pump one as my old one broke, and it isn't as good as the old one was; seems to have less suction as the seals aren't as good, and it also has a habit of turning the wee white valve thing upside down.

I hired an industrial grade pump from the NCT and although it was slow, it was gentle and you could just plug in and zone out.

I won a new mother pack in a competition recently which included some natracare breast and maternity pads....are they any use to you?

OP posts:
LackaDAISYcal · 17/08/2009 12:04

oh, and can you take Alli when BFing? and is it any good? I have three and a half stone to lose and have set myself a year to do it in. I WILL be a size 10/12 for my holidays next year if it kills me!

OP posts:
RIAlityBites · 17/08/2009 12:11

are you doing classes daisy? cmoe and join the SW thread. Ihave somehow missed my target of losing another stone by the time the kids went back to school, and a further 6lb before the wedding. I can probably make the stone by the wedding if I ban all food!

LackaDAISYcal · 17/08/2009 12:30

I am losing my grip on reality where vodafone is concerned. The contact form isn't working on the website, still no answer on the phones and the number for the shops listed on the website is the same as that for customer services but there is no option to get through to a local store.

Is it too much to fucking expect to be able to contact a telephone service provider by fucking telephone

RIAlityBites · 17/08/2009 18:37

been to the park, met a friend and her DD, just waiting for tea to cook, roll on DH being home tomorrow though.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 17/08/2009 20:08

Am just about recovered from a busy long weekend with my DSis Jamlet loved having her to stay! We had some nice trips out, including the farm centre, shopping, the rain forest, swimming and the park. We had 2 lunches out, when Jamlet was a real star, especially at the fish restaurant where I ordered her the £5 2 course lunch special rather than the £4.95 one course children's menu. She loved it, and ate all the starter and half the main course!

Hope all is well with Norty.

Good luck to all trying to lose weight. I need to regroup and concentrate on that front myself .
