Surprise. I don't like to think of this time last year either. I was in agony as I had told DH that he either stuck by me while we had this baby or I left him. I don't do abortions but he was absolutely terrified that we would have to go through the same thing again as with dd. Kept saying he didn't want to see me go through that again until I convinced him that there was no chance I was doing it and that aborting it would harm me so much more than the risk of the pregnancy. Now I wonder how he feels looking at Isaac especially as Izy is obssessed with smiling at his Daddy. (having said that I'm not sure he even bothers to think about such things) I was just reminded last night when watching private practice as a bloke on there was talking about ho guilty he felt whenever he looked in hi daughters face as he had tried tot get her mother the abort.
Sory I've really rambled on haven't I.

ah bronze, I know exactly how you feel. Dh wanted me to book into GP just to 'discuss all my options' But as far as I was concerned I didn't have any options. I did go and see GP but didn't discuss anything like that with her, I had no intention of it. Just two days after I found out, I was bridesmaid at my sisters wedding and on playing the DVD back, I look terrified! DH is practically holding me up at some points and he is watching me with concern the whole way through, quite sweet really

E is still asleep, I really should wake her. She did have a big feed at 8 am though.

Schulte - I would be so upset if my neighbours did that, I would send DD outside with her noise making instruments as soon she wakes up in the mornings!

Juwesm · 14/08/2009 11:47

Had lovely lie-in this morning. DH is off, and took H downstairs, and I woke up almost 3 hours later I usually get about an hour before the grizzling wakes me and I go downstairs to feed him. Very nice indeed. Plus, H was very well behaved and had a nice long sleepy cuddle with his Dad.

Surprise - the poo thing sounds normal from what I know, though I understand how worrying it must be! H either goes every day, or every 4 days! It's a bit random. If E wasn't getting enough milk, she'd let you know. In fact, your milk is so fabulous and full of delicious goodness, she is hanging onto it and not wasting a gram! Agree about the exceptionally smelly flatus though H is his father's son in that respect!

Juwesm · 14/08/2009 11:48

Also, I am planning on trying out making a starter for sourdough bread, which involves (wait for it) using a muslin cloth!

Obscure uses for muslin No. 207

My keyboard does not appear to have a hash key. Hmmmmmmmm

gingersarah · 14/08/2009 12:55

I think we should all go and move into Auld's new house and have lots of babies in France - according to this

Today is my anniversary of finding out too! I had done a pg test a couple of days before but it was negative (the only one I had ever done in my life, so I think I knew). Then I had to go to hospital about something else and when they asked if I was pg I said, "welllll..." and they tested me again and I was astonished. I said, "but I am going to be 37 soon!" I was brainwashed, as that article says, to believe that no one has a baby in their 30s without either IVF or being Madonna.

bebemoo · 14/08/2009 13:05

Hi all, back from Scotland (actually late Wednesday we were back). I was not as relaxing as on would hope as Moo has been feeding every 2 hours which is really not great when camping.
Will catch up with you all in a bit when I finish getting through my emails.
Hugs

bronze · 14/08/2009 13:24

Not sure Ginger I've read equally damning reports on having babies in France.

PuzzleRocks · 14/08/2009 13:24

Yesterday was my anniversary of finding out. It was ace as we had been trying. Ellen was another matter entirely so I know how you felt Bron and Surprise. I have never felt so alone in my life than I did that week before we finally agreed that actually we could really make it work.
It seems so absurd now.

Ooh, maybe my new house could be our commune. Might I have to boot DH out, though?!

I don't recall being allowed to sleep and nurses responding instead to A's night cries. Nor did a specialised BF nurse come to see me.

I suspect Mme Poirier is referring to private clinics...

Juwesm · 14/08/2009 14:02

Hmmm, don't know when my BFP anniversary is! I had calmly left things until a week after my 'you are late' date before testing, but that's all I recall.

Have begun the Great Sourdough Endeavour. I have a large jug full of flour and water mixture with a muslin bag of crushed grapes submersed in it. This now just has to sit on the side for 10 days. It all seems a bit strange.

I am also pondering the Great Jam Making Adventure. There are greengages at the farm shop, plus have rhubarb in garden, am gathering blackberries from my brambles, our apples will be edible in a couple of months. I am planning to make lots of edible Christmas presents this year, and some jams will hopefully be part of this range!

I love DH being home. H is sooooo chatty today, and assume that's because he has two people to talk to. This afternoon we are off to visit FIL. He is moving into his new house today, which he has just finished building.

Very cheerful mood today

Is that you Bleu??

girlylala0807 · 14/08/2009 14:07

Hello all,

im sorry ive not been joining in, ive really wanted to.

Im in the middle of revising for 5 exams now so once im done i will join you.

Must stay off mumsnet and revise!!!

AuldAlliance · 14/08/2009 14:13

Ju, the FB request was from me, if that's what you mean...

Schulte · 14/08/2009 14:17

I found out at the very beginning of August, before I had even missed a period - I was only 4 weeks pg. Made the pregnancy seem so much longer! Sorry to hear that for some of you finding out was not such a happy moment but I am glad you're here and your babies are here and you are enjoying them!

Thanks for all the suggestions re. what to do with the muslins loving them!

Yep I'll send DD1 outside tomorrow morning with all her noisy toys

Juwesm · 14/08/2009 14:34

Thanks Auld, had already got your request. I assumed bebemoo was Bleu, based on recent return from Scotland (and baby named Moo!).

bebemoo · 14/08/2009 15:23

Aye Ju I'm sporting a new name with my return (in part because I found I need more animity on MN).

...was about to catch up but DH says we need to go into town to do errands, so it'll be tonight or tomorrow now.

hugs

dawntigga · 14/08/2009 16:40

Shoos girly gently back to revising with a cup of tea and a nice cream biscuit

AuldAlliance · 14/08/2009 16:42

Doh! I am a bit out of it...

Is 4 a bad age for boys? Not sure if it's the new baby & house move making DS1 into a horror, or some hormone nightmare.

surprisenumber3 · 14/08/2009 17:01

AA - testerone peaks in little lads around 4-5 and then settles down til about 13

bronze · 14/08/2009 17:19

Auld I think it is a struggle at 4. Ds2 is really trying me at the moment and guess what hes 4

Ah, Moo, I hope I haven't ruined your anonymity plan? Do you want me to get that post deleted?

Juwesm · 15/08/2009 07:46

I quite fancy a name change....

Juwesm · 15/08/2009 08:10

Grrrrr...all names I try are taken.

dawntigga · 15/08/2009 08:29

ju make one up I did.

NotVeryOriginalButDamnCuteTiggaxx

bebemoo · 15/08/2009 08:34

it's ok Ju. one reference won't be flagged I'm sure. And I'll still be more secretive then I was

Things a little stressy in our house lately. I'll go into it later as DH is right beside me. Hope you all have a good weekend and get some sun for at least part of the day
