Hmmmm. A girl just came to pick up my bag of newborn clothes, went home with it, took out the things she wanted and re-offered the rest straight away on Freecycle. I feel a little bit sad because this was all stuff that was worn by my girls and I was hoping it would be valued a little bit more - AIBU?

bronze · 13/08/2009 17:16

no you're not

BabyBolat · 13/08/2009 17:27

That is so bloody cheeky! I can't believe she did that!

BabyBolat · 13/08/2009 17:28

kaz - seriously the elephant noises drive me round the twist and he's only been in it twice!!!

dawntigga · 13/08/2009 17:35

OI! kazkiss ITYF there's already one bouncing Tigga on 'ere innit!

Boules, omg how bloody exciting.

Schulte - I would be upset too. But at least they may now go to someone who does appreciate them.

Schulte · 13/08/2009 18:55

Well I have had a couple more emails from people who would have loved to have the baby clothes so I have told them to get them off that cheeky cow! Glad you agree.

Bicnod · 13/08/2009 19:34

Hello lovely ladies... quick post from me as STILL no blimmin laptop (arrrrrrrrgh) although it should be fixed in the next week (hurrah). Down at mum's again so use of her pooter...

No way I can catch up on everything but just to say I found the tigga sign offs very funny

Oscar is now just above the 98th percentile which IMHO is bloody ridiculous. We've had a couple of nights where he's only woken 3 times but last night we were back to 5. STill knackered.

BUT he's sooooo gorgeous at the moment - very smiley.

He's just learnt to scream very high pitched though which isn't much fun.

Very strange - he rolled over from front to back twice in one day over a week ago and hasn't done it since ?! what's all that about?!

Miss you guys - can't wait to be back online again x x x

p.s. does anyone live in SW London area? Fancy a meet up at some point?

Schulte · 13/08/2009 20:11

Bicnod - we are all meeting up on Monday - have a look on Facebook!

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 13/08/2009 20:22

Bicnod clearly Oscar now knows he can roll over, so he's not going to bother to do it again unless he really needs to! On to the next development.....

But my god, 98th percentile, is he a chunky boy or a very long one? Orbit is 75th but long rather than chubby. No wonder you're knackered, I can barely keep up with Orbit's demands to be honest.

Schulte - I would be a bit miffed too, but at least you know the clothes will keep being used. Would be much worse if she'd just binned the ones she didn't want. But I can understand you feeling upset, I find myself getting very emotional about clothes DS1 and Orbit have both worn and grown out of.

BB Jumparoo sounds like a good thing if it keeps K amused! We so don't have the room for one here, not with DS1's toys everywhere as well.

Auld are there some old men sitting under a tree waiting for the boules to happen yet? They'll turn up soon, I'm sure

We've been invited to go to a friend's villa in Provence in August/September but sadly DP can't take the time off, and I don't feel I can go with just me and the boys. Firstly because we're skint, second because I'd feel like a gooseberry (it's a couple and their baby, same age as Orbit) and thirdly because me handling both boys on my own in a holiday villa is too blinking hard. Very though, not least because I could have come to sleep in your bath for a night or two!

bronze good news about the receipt! and I love Stunt Bunny - we have Old Bunny and New Bunny, and DS1, the fickle little monkey, prefers New Bunny. What happened to loyalty, that's what I want to know - Old Bunny is the original and best. Tsk, the youth of today

Juwesm when are you going back to work?

Orbit is rolling, never quite all the way over but close, and smiling like mad, and chuckling away. He has also found his feet recently, and spends most of his time playing with either his feet, or his tackle if his nappy's off, or sticking his fingers in his mouth. Must be pleasant after fondling his feet and tackle!

Poor boy is in disposable nappies because he has quite a big strawberry birthmark on the crease of his groin, and it's getting bigger and is very sensitive to nappy rash. Poor boy has had blood in his nappy a few times because of it . I'm hoping to go back to washables when this bout of teething is over, but it all really depends on how his birthmark does.

Went to Toys R Us today - god that place is horrible, aisles and aisles of horror including one aisle that was eye wateringly, blisteringly and entirely PINK! I had to run away.

Schulte · 13/08/2009 20:45

WFH you're making me laugh with your description of Orbit's pastimes! Although, as DH just remarked, some men never get beyond that

Off to watch Dragon's Den.

Schulte · 13/08/2009 20:46

Oh - I have about a billion muslins because DD1 was such a sicky baby. What could I use them for? Any ideas?

Juwesm · 13/08/2009 21:05

WFH - not back to work until next year, but if there's stuff I should remember now but have to look up, I dread to think what it will be like in another 8 months

dawntigga · 13/08/2009 21:05

shulte read that as a million muslims and couldn't work it out You could use the muslins for any cleaning around the house and they make fabby exfoliating and soft face cloths

You could sew them together and make a shirt

Or you could use them as strainers for cheese/jam/sauces.

bronze · 13/08/2009 23:40

schulte save them
I'm using muslins on my kids my mum used for us. They're lovely and soft.

I use them for straining stuff too

surprisenumber3 · 13/08/2009 23:43

Hello all

WFH (and everyone else, teehee), next time you go into Toys R Us have a look at 'Musical Bubbles Thomas' by Tomy. That's my DS2 on the box (he's a model dontcha know - well, he was before he started school)

BB - absolutely adore the pics of K on FB. Gorgeous little chappy, and so clever standing up like that, he looks about 9 or 10 months!

Have fed E all day today. She has fed for about half an hour every 60-90 mins. Please tell me it's going to get easier! She is still sleeping 10-12 hours a night though but I want to spend a bit of time with the DS's as they're on school hols but I don't seem to be able to After trying and failing with the bottle I really don't want to go down that route. But this is exhausting!

It's been a year today since I found out I was preg I could cry when I think back to those first posts I posted on April 09 group, when I was in total shock and DH wanted me to think about all our options We feel so horrible when we think about that now and then look at her gorgeous little face. So much has happened in the past year and our little surprise is so loved and adored

surprisenumber3 · 13/08/2009 23:46

Oh one more thing I could really do with advice on.

E hasn't had a poo for a week now. When she does go it is yellow and very runny and lots and lots of it. She is quite windy and stinks out the bedroom at night with her gas smelling of onions

Do you think the lack of poo is due to her not having enough milk? It seems unlikely she is bunged up as it is so runny when she does go. And her tummy is soft and she never seems in pain.

Just seems a long time to go really, but she has never been very regular.

AuldAlliance · 14/08/2009 07:11

Morning all!

WFH, shame you won't be in this neck of the woods, and sorry you can't get to have a holiday with your friends. No old men waiting yet, but every evening there are old ladies on the benches in the central bit, taking the evening air and lamenting (well, they were yesterday) the demise of the town, how they used never to lock doors and everyone was friendly, how there used to be wonderful dances on the squares, etc., etc.

Surprise, that does seem a long time. Not sure about not having enough milk, though. Sounds as if she is really feeding a lot. And yes, you know it will get better. And better, and better.

Schulte, I'd be p'd off too, but then newborn clothes have sentimental value for mums that they don't have for strangers. And they'll be going to a good home, rather than a ragbag...

Am off to send some requests on FB so we can be friends and I can see all these photos. So if you get a request from RM, c'est moi!

Schulte · 14/08/2009 07:47

Good morning. Where are these famous photos of Kara? On his FB site?

So I had about 2 hours sleep and not even in one stretch! Our neighbours sat in their garden ALL night, talking and smoking, and I didn't fall asleep until about 4am and their cigarette smoke came into our bedroom and I worried about Hazel. Idiots.

Unfortunately DD1 has just discovered her musical instruments in her toy bag and is wandering around making an awful lot of noise. My poor head!

Surprise - sounds like a growth spurt so hopefully feeding will be back to normal today. I thought pooing only once a week was normal in bf babies, and certainly better than 8 times a day

AuldAlliance · 14/08/2009 08:01

Schulte, can't send you a friend request on FB, don't know why...

Sorry about the lack of sleep. What annoying neighbours you have. I have put DS1's musical toys in a high place in the cupboard.

PuzzleRocks · 14/08/2009 08:46

Good morning

Uses for muslin #106..

When you drunkenly decide another bottle of wine is just the thing but make such a hash of opening it that it ends up full of broken cork.

Schulte · 14/08/2009 09:02

I can't send you a friend request either Auld - must be something to do with privacy settings. But there are no photos on my profile anyway, you'll find one of newborn H on the group page

dawntigga · 14/08/2009 09:20

surprise if you're bf'ing that's normal.

Hi Schulte - I posted on your sleep thread.
Auld - you should enter the boules competition, allowing the locals to regard you with xenophobic sexist amusement as you declare your entry in some charming public ceremony in the square, and then thrash everyone in the manner of a cheezy 80s movie where it turns out the gorgeous heroine is not just a pretty face, but a demon baseball player / aeroplane pilot / business woman in her own right (lots of close up shots of stereotypical old moustached Frenchmen acknowledging your prowess with grudging respect).

Does anyone have contact with Chateau Springy?
