morning all - WFH K has quite a piercing scream / cry - he doesn't cry very often but when he does all hell breaks loose - It's a real pain / angry cry much different to his other ones and I just have no idea what it is - everyone who has heard have all told me it's different things so I am still bewildered! He also has what looks like heat rash on one of his cheeks

Bleu - one of the reasons I love DH so much is that he too hates camping - it's weird, we are both quite out-doorsy people and will spend our life walking/ trecking / cycling whatever but camping is a no!

WFH stop reading the articles - I wont look at the link as I know I will be paranoid about it! LOl at DS1 - I can't comment as I do those sorts of things to DH when I can't sleep and it drives him up the wall! I too still have K in with us - I keep meaning to put him in his cot but i he loves cuddling up together at night (dh is not enjoying this so much for obvious reasons!)

OOoh Boff send them a poo in a box!!!

Happy Birthday to DD Bronze x

BoffinMum · 04/08/2009 10:05

Wfh that is so funny! Pmsl!

BoffinMum · 04/08/2009 10:14

Felix occasionally does an emergency warbly cry for no apparents reason, which throws us a bit.

His latest trick is more positive - when you are doing his nappy he obligingly puts his legs up for wiping purposes and then puts then down and stretches them our for gettifng dressed purposes. He has also started to imitate DH's cough!

BabyBolat · 04/08/2009 10:24

ooh Boff K does that it's great although occasionally when lifting either a) more poo comes out as was the case this morning or b) he drops his foot in the poo! he has also started rolling over before I have chance to do the nappy of and carpet shuffling away from me! little begger!

He is also starting to be really coy so if you say hello to him, he holds his hands together, giggles and hides his head in whoever is holding him!!!

He also does the latching off to look around and skin twisting! OW!

Juwesm · 04/08/2009 10:35

WFH - now you know you shouldn't google . H has had diGeorge syndrome, cystic fibrosis and goodness knows what else as a result of googling. It shouldn't be allowed.

Nutty - big wooooohoooooooooooo for the house! And so nice that you'll be near a friend. But about consultant denying op again. What a pointless visit and waste of your time.

Love the idea of Scotland being mostly wilderness Why not just head to the Brecon Beacons or Snowdonia, Bleu, and avoid that long journey? Nice campsite with good facilities (10 years ago ) at Beddgelert, and DH could bike like crazy. You could go visiting lots of lovely towns - Beddgelert itself is very lovely, and I think you're not far from lots of places with castles and the like!

H is not rolling yet - he can get onto his side, and can then rotate slowly on his side. He's on his playmat now and has just abut made it round 180 degrees!

HV coming this afternoon to do the depression questionnaire again. They do it at 6 and 16 weeks or something like that. I wish I'd just been able to tell her not to bother, but that probably gets you a black mark. I asked if we couldn't do it down at the children's centre, but that is not private enough, apparently. Plenty private for me, as I have nothing interesting to say!
Have just spent 10 minutes arranging casually discarded clinical pharmacy journals and bowls of fruit (and hiding the bag of Jaffa Cakes, HobNobs, Dairy Milk and McCoys!), to make me look terribly together. Suppose I ought to get dressed before she comes too

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 04/08/2009 10:47

I know the googling is a bad idea, but I don't think I'm explaining the whole cry thing very well.

Am sure it's nothing to worry about, but what I mean is it isn't a cry he does every so often, or one of his range of cries, it's EVERY sound he makes is about two octaves above normal, even the happy noises, and sounds mostly like a car alarm or a whistling dolphin bath toy (if you have one of these, you'll know what I mean).

And I know I'm not being a paranoid mum, because he doesn't sound like any other baby I've ever met, including DS1, and whenever other people hear it they always say 'Christ, what was THAT?' and when I say it was the baby they refuse to believe me. Everyone always comments that they've never heard a baby make that noise, even people with loads of experience with children.

So although I'm sure it's not a sign of anything wrong, it's still rather odd, iyswim.

Hmmm. I think I'll have to post a video or MP3 of it, really, won't I?

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 04/08/2009 10:50

Boffin and BB, your children sound very obliging at nappy changes! Orbit mostly tries to kick me in the stomach.....

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 04/08/2009 10:51

Juwesm - don't make too much effort for the HV, she'll be convinced something's wrong for sure! Nooone can look THAT together with a four month old baby

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 04/08/2009 10:52

BB Heat rash on K's cheek is quite possibly teething rash - they get red cheeks when a tooth is giving them trouble.

Bleuravin · 04/08/2009 10:55

WFH lol not looking forward to such things when they occur, but the make good stories afterwards

Ah the latch and twist...the bane of my bf existence for the last month or so. Moo gets some stern talkings to when she's particularlly violent about them.
Also she's been sticking out her tongue a lot, but keeping my nipple in her mouth which is only possible when she presses the nipple up to the roof of her mouth first...who knew my nipples could be pulled and compressed in such manners? I could make future sex games very interesting-if I were in to such things.

Bleuravin · 04/08/2009 11:03

Ju we've done the Brecons and a bit of Snowdonia too unfortunately. We were looking for the more exotic and more holiday feel to our time off. I think we've left it a bit too late though.
Dh is dragging his feet a bit about planning things which is also driving me up the wall. Each time I try to get things nailed down he talks to me abt it for about 10min then wanders off or rambles on abt something else. Can adhd come on later in life? I don't particularly want to be the one planning the holiday as I don't have the smallest clue about holidays over here and every time I've tried in the past I somehow have gotten in not to his everyone's satisfaction.

frekkles · 04/08/2009 15:21

bleu, go wigwaming! website here

we stayed in the wigwams at glanaskille in skye. they were lovely and the lady that runs them even let me use the bath tub in her house to bath harris.

i'd reccomend the wigwams at tantallon, north berwick. great stretch of coast, amazing beaches at seacliff, north berwick and tynningham. north berwick is lovely, really nice to wander around even in the rain, and it's just half an hour on the train to edinburgh for more wet weather stuff (including yours truly). Good for cycling too The pentlands are nearby too for more rugged offroad cycling

Elpis · 04/08/2009 18:06

Isla now sounds like a pterodactyl when she's excited.

The unlatching-to-look-around is quite annoying. It's as if she's afraid a predator is going to sneak up behind and steal her meal. That said, a squirrel did approach while I was trying to feed her under an umbrella in a park yesterday, and he eyed me quite hungrily.

We are still getting nowhere with the bottle. I suppose I should be flattered...

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 04/08/2009 20:13

Am starting to get paranoid about this place. A friend's DH has just posted a link to a MN thread on his Facebook ....does everyone read MN these days?

I might start having to disguise myself a little more - so from now on, please refer to me as MadameX, and consider me to be wearing dark glasses...

Bleuravin · 04/08/2009 20:16

lol WFH I know what you mean. I need to becareful about the things I say about others with kids...

Schulte · 04/08/2009 20:44

Aaaargh. DD1 is driving me to distraction. See here

dawntigga · 05/08/2009 07:59

Doing the DS slept till 0500 dance

BTW does anyone know why we use DS/DD instead of their names?

WonderinAndAPonderinTiggaxx

purplemonkeydishwasher · 05/08/2009 08:39

yay tigga! Isla was doing that for a while but has stopped! grrr!

btw we use dd/ds/dh etc so that we're a bit more annonymous (which is funny since we detail everything else about our lives on here!)

I think i'm going to have a name change today...

Schulte · 05/08/2009 08:41

Grrrrr. H will never ever sleep till 5am. DD1 started sleeping through (with a dream feed) from around this age, but H is showing no signs of this happening any time soon

tattybojangles · 05/08/2009 08:43

what do you think?

Schulte · 05/08/2009 08:47

Will take some getting used to

tattybojangles · 05/08/2009 08:50

lol

tattybojangles · 05/08/2009 08:52

it won't be permanent. my name changes never are
last summer i was SirDigbyChickenCaesar

PuzzleRocks · 05/08/2009 08:52

Good morning

Ellen spent a lovely yesterday morning with Lulubai's children yesterday. Who I must say are absolutely gorgeous. And DD is a proper little pixie like Ellen.

There were four in the bed last night so i'm rather achy this morning. I plan to have a lazy day. What is everyone else up to?

Ju - How did the HV visit go?

So your surname isn't really Purplemonkey? I'm disappointed.
