Bleuravin · 03/08/2009 17:30

good you're not h1n1 tigga

BoffinMum · 03/08/2009 17:40

Have written stompy letter to insurance company demanding they pay up as it is likely to total a grand.

Auld, this sounds awful. I should have come across and distracted you after all. I can't do anything physical but I could have wiped sick and opened the wine. :.)

Bleuravin · 03/08/2009 17:42

grrr
Dh thinks we can just hop in the car and go to Scotland without any planning...
We can hang out in a pub if it's raining he says then just go to the tent to sleep...
What about Moo? I ask and he says what about her? she won't care where we are.
AIBU?

BoffinMum · 03/08/2009 17:53

Go on, live a little dangerously, Bleu. :.)

Bleuravin · 03/08/2009 18:03

The problem is I know it'll be me dealing with the crying and stuck in a 4x7 'room' while dh is biking... isn't Scotland mostly wilderness? What am I supposed to do if it rains? Can on just hang out in pubs with crying babies? They're not really like starbucks are they?

Bleuravin · 03/08/2009 18:17

If I were back home I wouldn't have second thoughts because I'd know I be ok finding things to do and places to be other than in a tent...likewise I'd just leave him for a hotel... not so certain of things over here given that hotels and food places and petrol can be completely randomly placed/closed

oh nutty that is so poo. so there is nothing more? just drugs?

BabyBolat · 03/08/2009 20:01

Evenin' all - nutty yay for the house but what an arse about your back - I agree, if they were just honest and said OK it's not going to happen, that would be different to giving you different excuses every time you go there!

Bleu, glad you had fun with your mum! Scotland - you can have lively leisurely walks most places - I wouldn't go on said trip mainly because I have a thing about camping and I wont do it (I know that makes me sound really precious and it can be great for some people but I hate the thought of it!)

Boff - have the insurance company said no them?

Schultes I second the 8 miles

AUld [hugs] fwiw I don't think your DH is being very fair but I know work is tough for him but you need to have support!

Just seen an advert for a programme called under age and pregnant on BBC3 at 8.30 - I'm not sure I can bring myself to watch it (there is a 14 year old girl on it!) Its that or Make me a supermodel US... hmmmm....

Well I no longer have any hearing, K has done nothing but scream today (OK I am exaggerating slightly but a good proportion of the day!) and I mean scream not cry but full on shouting from the back of his throat - I don't know what it is - he doesn't have wind, he is sleeping, he's not sick - he was a bit clammy earlier but only for an hour or so - I can't see any teeth cutting??? aaaaaaahhhh!!!

BabyBolat · 03/08/2009 20:06

lovely leisurely - not lively!!

Bleuravin · 03/08/2009 20:08

not sure I'm in the mood for lively leisurely walks..if one could have them...

and I'm sure your dh thinks precious But I know what you mean

Bleuravin · 03/08/2009 20:13

honestly I'd prefer not camping personally in this case, but the expense is a factor...

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 03/08/2009 21:24

Nutty brilliant news about your house - but boo about your op Have no useful suggestions but sending you lots of virtual internet smut to cheer you up

Bicnod glad to hear Oscar is on the mend - hope he's back to full strength soon. Am very impressed at him being in his own room, I am still being kept awake by Orbit's snuffling and shuffling...

Tigga Orbit has started with the wandering hands, too. Also the pulling off the boob to have a look around at things, which is fine in our lounge but less good in public!

Boffin, bummer about the ceiling! That's the second ceiling on this group....

Schulte am very impressed at your walk! I had Orbit in the sling today all around the Banksy exhibition, including two hours in the queue, so I feel your pain.

Auld you sound exhausted poor lamb. Hope your friends come and cook you dinner while you put your feet up with a glass of wine.

Bleu I wouldn't be going anywhere near a tent - but then I've always hated camping. But you should be fine finding hotels etc open given that it's school holidays, no?

BB Orbit has been yelling a lot lately, too. Not sure why exactly. I have also got myself all worried about his unusual cry - it's very high pitched and shrieky, and being an idiot I googled it and am now convinced he has some neurological disorder. Am a bit worried, tried calling a paediatrician friend but she's out. I'm being daft, right? I've been a bit concerned that he can't roll over yet, too.

Bleuravin · 03/08/2009 21:34

can shrieking meaning neurological disorders?! Moo's been shrieking for ages...

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 03/08/2009 21:48

No, I mean ALL Orbit's cries are really high pitched and odd - like a cross between a shriek and a whistle. Everyone comments on it, it's incredibly piercing.

And articles like this have got me worried.

Bleuravin · 03/08/2009 21:57

oh dear that is disturbing

Bleuravin · 03/08/2009 22:03

i know abt certain shrieks making one's annoyance levels rise... i head down two floors to get away from them, and or hand her over to dh for fear of doing things

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 03/08/2009 22:40

Well the shrieker is in bed, so I'm off too. Night night everyone

bronze · 04/08/2009 00:22

Just got dds birthday cake in the oven. I can't believe my little 2lb 12 baby will be 3 tomorrow.

My parents are here at the moment (staying down the road) and the kids are in holiday club tomorrow morning so we're going to go out walking and exploring the countryside for about 3 hours tomrrow morning. I miss doing that so much.

Nutty- well chuffed for you chuck re house but re cons.

wfh- stop reading such articles. Remember Izy can't roll yet either and hes perfect

Boff- kick some insurance arse

PuzzleRocks · 04/08/2009 08:48

Quick skim time..

Boff - How's the leak?

Nutty - Already posted on FB, but so happy for you about the house. And very very sorry about the bloody surgery. Are there any more doors you can bang on?

Schulte - Very nice. Aren't you tempted to get the whole bedroom set.

Bleu - Hope you had some lovely family time with your Mum and sister.

Auld - Sorry to hear that. Maybe start wearing your pants over your tights a la Superman as an on the edge wife hint to DH.
I'm not kidding.

WFH - Sorry no clue?? Have you called NHS direct?

Bronze - Happy Birthday to DD.

dawntigga · 04/08/2009 09:12

Nutty sorry to hear about your op - have you tried some of the online groups for coping with long term pain?

OnlyHasABadBackButKnowsWhereNuttyIsComingFromTiggaxx

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 04/08/2009 09:19

Gah. I feel like I've been subjected to some kind of Guantanamo Bay slow torture.

Picture the scene - it's 1am. I'm sleeping, Orbit is sleeping. DP is away. Then this happens. To appreciate the true horror, you have to imagine that all DS1s words are uttered over and over again in a whisper so that when you wake up you feel like he's been whispering in your ear for ever....

DS1 - Mummy? Mummy? Mummy? Mummy?

Me - Mmmphh, Yes darling?

DS1 - can I sleep in your bed?

Me - Yes

DS1 - Mummy? Mummy? Mummy? Mummy?

Me - Mmmphh, Yes darling?

DS1 - I can't find my pirate bandanna

Me - I really can't look for pirate items at 1am darling, go back to sleep

DS1 - Mummy? Mummy? Mummy? Mummy?

Me - Mmmphh, Yes darling?

DS1 - I need a wee

Me - Oh

DS1 - Mummy? Mummy? Mummy? Mummy?

Me - Mmmphh, Yes darling?

DS1 - Can we read this book

Me - No! FGS, go to SLEEP!

DS1

bleu: "isn't Scotland mostly wilderness?"
ummmm. no.

it really depends where you are going. I think if your DH wants to bike and you are stuck back at camp or where ever then you should compromise and go somewhere where there are things to do! (even if it's just sitting in costa drinking coffee!)
you could go to Edinburgh. he could bike up arthur's seat while you check out the sites.
I'd just be wary of going to some place that's really out of the way while he's off on his bike.

I know what you mean too about not being close to family. You don't really think about it until you have a little one and then you realize how nice it would be to have them close by.

Auld: why why why would your DH invite people to stay when he won't even be there? are they your friends too? sounds like he's just taking the piss.

Nutty: that's shit about the op.

Boffin: O. M. G. I think a nasty letter is definintley in order, perhaps stuffed with a gift from Felix's diaper...

not much news here. Isla had an unsettled night last night. I think her teeth are starting to bother her. anything that gets near her mouth gets bitten these days.

managed to get some housework done yesterday. and DH actually noticed! which was nice. nothing like working for hours and not even being able to tell!

purplemonkeydishwasher · 04/08/2009 09:26

lol WFH - kids are effing insane aren't they?
