ladyt skydiving wow! I hate heights so would be particularly useless at it.

zj Classic mum behaviour. I would have said I'll have the chocolate back then! DS does lots of ba-ba-ba....and da-da-da.....unfortunately today it was from 4.30 when he decided to wake for the day after being up 3 times already.

Which brings me to my me post(apologies in advance). Right now I feel like I have a newborn again. DS up so much in the night at the moment. Sometimes hungry sometimes not, sometimes in need of Calpol/teething relief sometimes not. He is still coughing a ridiculous amount despite finishing his AB's. I just don't know what to do with him anymore and I am so tired.

I cried yesterday because I broke a cup tidying the kitchen, obv I wasn't crying over the cup just because I'm so tired. I feel really run down, I now have conjunctivitus(sp?) to boot

DS has 8 month check this afternoon with HV. So I will see of she can advise. But I don't see how I can get more food in him if he won't open his mouth, and I'm sure this will be her advice.

Damn DD up now, best get on!

Morning girls

Just a quick one from me - I have been reading but not posting as last few days have been hectic with my 3. I may not be able to make the meet up today either as, surprise surprise, I have yet more child care issues to sort out and need the phone to do it. I am so sorry if I don't get there. I am hopeful that my crisis will be sorted in just a couple of calls so I can be on my way, but if not then I hope you all have a wonderful time.

Kayzr · 12/08/2009 07:55

Morning,

I feel we are going backwards with DS2's sleeping. He wouldn't go to bed last night. He eventually fell asleep on the front room floor so I took him up. That was at half 10. I didn't get to sleep until 11. DS2 then woke us up at half 1. He went straight back to sleep but I was awake until 4am. He then decided to wake us up at half 5.

I feel dreadful this morning. I am hoping I will start to feel more alive soon as I have a driving lesson this afternoon.

Hope you have a good meet up today.

daisydora · 12/08/2009 14:12

DS 8 month he weighs 23lb 10oz
71cm long and head is 43cm.

She was useless re advice on the sleep front and said if he won't eat lumps just make the food thicker

Am with DH who has just come home from work said he was really tired. So I had to take DD with me to the Dr's, just got home now and he is in bed. I can't believe him I really can't.....

Hope you have all had/having a lovely time at the meet up

TheInvisibleHand · 12/08/2009 14:38

Just a quick one to say lovely to finally meet some of you at the meetup! Very strange being their without my DCs but those there are very sweet and impressively mobile!

Kayzr · 12/08/2009 15:00

I am so annoyed with myself. I have a driving lesson at 4 and I have that feeling of impending doom again. I was so determined not to feel like I am going die once I start driving. I have got those Kalms tablets but they don't seem to have kicked in yet.

KiwiPanda · 12/08/2009 17:02

Hello, it was really lovely to meet (some of) you, sorry I couldn't stay long, probably a good thing as DD had an inexplicable meltdown this afternoon! Absolutely refused to feed (for the first time in 8 months ) and was inconsolable until we gave her some Calpol. Teething!?

Thank you again WG for the frame, it's lovely!

zoejeanne · 12/08/2009 17:15

Kayz a friend of mine was terrified of driving (she'd already passed her test, but then didn't drive for about 10 years). She got over that feeling of doom, by spending loads of time in the car without driving it - doing things she likes, such as reading, doing her nails, phoning her friends etc. It sounds batty, and I did laugh at her, but very quickly she was comfortable enough in the car to consider driving it and was full of confidence again. Maybe worth a try?

Indith · 12/08/2009 19:09

Right I am signing off til after the move. I am. Really. If you see me kick me off! Shall come and find you all after and attempt to remain rather more in touch on a regualr basis! I'll pop over to FB and give someone my mobile in case I don't get back on before Yorkshire meet stuff. Before Sept 2nd would be good as dh is having his knee op then so after that I will need to be home to look after him for a while. Take care everyone.

Spiggy good luck for your move! Hope to see you again soon.

EffiePerine · 12/08/2009 20:30

Daisy, I am grring at your DH from the comfort of my laptop. I hope you get a better night tonight. We are having lots of unsettled nights as well, I think it's one of those tricky periods. Possibly. I will be gnashing my teeth along with you at the weekend as my parents are coming to visit and I can usually manage about 2 hours with my mum before going off to have a little scream. Especially as they've announced they'll be arriving a day earlier than planned, then several hours earlier, and they'll be bringing my grandfather as well. Which is fine as it'll be nice to see him (despite him being an old tory and a sanctimonious twerp on occasion) but it would have been nice to be asked. Anyway, I can't complain as my sister will have had them in her front room for a week beforehand.

DS2 again, better go...

spiggy · 12/08/2009 21:26

ooooh indith I'd just popped on to say good luck for your move to find that you've signed off for the duration! Hope everything goes well and your broadband is up and running soon. Am hoping ours will be activated on Sunday but am not holding my breath. Our buyer has just been round to do the final practicalities (stopcock, boiler instructions etc) so am hoping the sight of the house covered in boxes hasn't put her off. Right, I've done the leccy, gas, water, telephone, tv license, insurance....I've forgotten something but I'm not sure what

JollyBear · 13/08/2009 10:08

Oh house moves, how exciting. Hope it all goes well indith and spiggy.

Skydiving ladyT!!! Wow, rather you than me. I get dizzy on a chair.

Oooh any pics from the meet up?

ZJ You are right that parents in general get a raw deal. Employers need to be more flexible generally. I'm just shocked as to how much discrimination there seems to be about that I just wasn't aware of before.

Our 8 month check was rubbish! No measuring or weighing. She could see she was sitting and I was asked if she can grasp objects and pass them from one hand to another and that apparently is that until she's 2!!

daisy That is odd advice from the HV. Is there anything that he just loves that you think he might tolerate lumps in just because he loves the taste so much? Hope you get the sleeping sorted again. No wonder you are exhausted.

WG Woweee on madam being settled to bed by her dad. Fantastic news, hurray!

DD is still mainly 'ba ba baing' and has also taken to shouting very loudly. It is ear splitting. She also says 'ma ma ma', which is lovely . She awakens, must go.

poisondwarf · 13/08/2009 13:32

Afternoon all.

Good to see some of you and your lovely DCs at the meet-up yesterday. Especially nice to meet KiwiPanda (who turned out, rather scandalously, to be neither a Kiwi nor a panda) and InvisibleHand (who come to think of it was not invisible or a hand either). Shame on LadyT & pmk's naughty LOs, who refused to leave until their mummies had indulged in a cheeky bottle or two of the cheerful stuff.

Didn't get pics of everybody but have posted a few.

JollyBear · 13/08/2009 13:52

Oooh thanks for posting the pics PD. Is it naughty to say that Mr PD is rather handsome? Your children are just gorgeous.

It is so strange seeing that you are all 'real'! All your LOs are just lovely. How they have grown from the pics of the first meet up. I feel like an elderly Aunt saying that .

I want to Northern meet up now . Is there one planned around when tilly is visiting?

KiwiPanda · 13/08/2009 17:12

I apologise most profusely for being neither Kiwi nor a cute black and white mammal. If it helps, I would very much LIKE to be the latter - eat, sleep, eat, sleep... It's what I aspire to. Plus they very sensibly avoid procreation thus minimising sleepless nights, public meltdowns and pukey clothes

Oh, I stupidly left BabyNotReallyKiwiButCuteAsAPanda's whoozit toy thingy, completely with thoroughly chewed and drooled on red nose. Did anyone happen to pick it up or was it swiftly removed for decontamination?

pmk1 · 13/08/2009 20:55

Hello!
So nice to meet up with everyone again!
Nice of you to come over Invisible (apparently very much visible )

PD - I know! how naughty were those 3 dc's of our! he went straight to bed for that when he got home

Lovely to meet you Kiwi - and YES! I have the whoozit!! We couldn't figure out who owned it! I can post it to you or perhaps do a mini meetup - are you on FB? if so can you message me your address?

Right I have a few photos but I didn't realise I had the camera in my bag from last time I was out so I didn't get everyone but I will put them up after I post this.

Lady hope you had a nice day at the galleries. I went over to Westfield and bought ds some new trousers and jumper and met up with a friend. it was very quick as he was afeeling ill. Came back at rush hour - nightmare - no lift at Clapham Junction - next time i'm driving..... Love that mall and lady you'd be very proud I walked right on past the champagne bar (my friend doesn't get cheerful )
I was just thinking - the few newbies on here may think our "cheerful" talk is odd unless they've been lurking for sometime!

Ok will try and post these photos.....

pmk1 · 13/08/2009 20:57

lol I said "mall" like I still live in America (my friend I met is American so It's so easy to start up that talk again!) right off to do photos

Kayzr · 13/08/2009 21:23

Oooh you all look fabby!!! Glad you all had a good time.

I have booked my theory test for September 11th. Hopefully I will pass.

I have finally got work sorted out. I am doing Mon-Wed and 12-16 hours. I am slightly annoyed really. My mangager has said nothing to me but told my supervisor that he didn't really want me back but as they are really badly short staffed he'll agree to the days I want.

Hope you are all ok!!

pmk1 · 13/08/2009 21:32

Ok I have put the photo's up....
I have added everyone to my "mumsnet mates list" so that way the photo's stay just between us - i think it's a really good idea let me know what you all think - that way we can not be worried about putting any photos up etc... I hope I have got everyone but I did most of it off the old email list I had, so I bet I have left off a few people so let me know if you can't view the photos

notjustanumber · 13/08/2009 21:37

Hi pmk - glad you had a good meetup, I cant see them, how can I fix this ? I love looking at photos

notjustanumber · 13/08/2009 21:39

Kayz when do you start work ? Good luck with the theory test. I'm a very nervous driver too, havent really driven since I passed my test, a long time ago. I'm about to take some refresher/advanced lessons

Kayzr · 13/08/2009 21:50

I start on the 24th. So 10 days tomorrow. I am quite sad about it but it will fund my driving lessons.

Kayzr · 13/08/2009 21:52

PMK I can't see them either.

pmk1 · 13/08/2009 22:27

notjust - I have added you now so try again! Kayz not sure why you can't see.... You are on the list..... can others let me know if they can see them or not?

pmk1 · 13/08/2009 22:36

hmmm I can see why you can't see them - the link is not on my profile page.... I have tried everything and it still won't work.... Try adding me to your "mumsnet mates" and if it still doesn't work then I'll just email them!
