Thanks sazz, sounds like it might be a plan - do you have a link?

ataraxis · 03/06/2009 20:25

I am now sitting on the stairs, so I can hear immediately of any evil doings (nothing to do with avoiding doing other things I should be doing at all)

ataraxis · 03/06/2009 20:27

and while I am rambling to myself in a ts kind of a way - after 3.5 years we are actually starting to think that the house might be finished by the end of the month!!! I can't remember what it was like to live in a place that isn't at least partially a building site.

Ah, the problem that we have is that there is a large window, rather than a wall (or anything fixableonto) on the side opposite the bannister. So the only way we could do something is if we could have some kind of hinged door contraption - might have to start looking. My mum taught the boys how to go down stairs (due to her frightening, head breaking flagstones at the bottom of steep stairs) but think dd is a bit young for that as yet. However, the training will need to commence.

ds2 still not asleep

ataraxis · 03/06/2009 20:42

Is it possible for a 4 year old to only need 10 hours sleep a night?

dizzydixies · 03/06/2009 20:42

ataraxis · 03/06/2009 20:48

ataraxis · 03/06/2009 20:51

10 mins of quiet - finally. Now I have to go and get the washing in. What an exciting life I lead

ataraxis · 03/06/2009 20:52

oh, and as I have now filled my quota of posts for the month, I will probably see you in July!

ataraxis · 03/06/2009 20:59

I'm back. ds2 not asleep .

Beginning to feel a bit paranoid... have you started a secret thread somewhere and not invited me?

ataraxis · 03/06/2009 21:01

Look, I didn't mean it about stealing all the drinks, honest

been on phone to friend getting childminding advice as went to see a lady today - god its expensive

going back with DH next week to talk some more about it with her as I'm not sure she realises what the shifts entail

ataraxis · 03/06/2009 21:12

yay, I am not a sad loner in the virtual world anymore . Latest update, just found ds2 with his arms hands down the toilet trying to clear it .

dizzydixies · 03/06/2009 21:14

ack - I think I've rubbed cream into my eyes as they're all watery too - either that or I'm tired trying to do these fecking shift rotas

ataraxis could you pop him round to mine to clean here too

ataraxis · 03/06/2009 21:15

dizzy . Childcare is frighteningly expensive, wish we lived in Scandinavia where (so I hear) there is great maternity/paternity leave, great redundancy packages (like a year of the salary for people dh used to work with) and decent, subsidised childcare...

I have just been thinking about how on earth people both working manage school holidays etc until all their dcs can manage themselves in the day.

Hi Ataraxis - I've been napping and pootling about. How are you? Is DS asleep yet?

Cyteen hope you had a good day at work and DS was pleased to see you when you picked him up.

DD and I went back to bed at 9.30 this morning and got up at 12, we then went to baby cafe, came home DD napped. She had 3 oz from her bottle this morning, 3 oz at 3 when she was exhausted and 5oz at bed which is a vast improvement on last night when we had 3 hours of crying from both of us and she finally fell asleep from exhaustion. She did guzzle her morning BF though.

Sazzles - can I have your salsa verde recipe pleases.

TS- do you have a non alco drink - none allowed here until the next appointment.

Hi Red

Dizzy - stop and breathe please you are exhausting me! It's a long time since I have heard the word jobbies, it reminds me of my mad grandmother.

dizzydixies · 03/06/2009 21:19

the lady is also £3.25 per hr but the other one is £3.50 or £3.85 its the fact that they want paid for a WHOLE day just for an after school slot I don't think so

shall have a think about it

ataraxis · 03/06/2009 21:22

hi oops, sadly not. I have tried every trick in the book, nothing but nothing works.

sazz only toilet roll, but I don't tthink he realised initially that flushing and reflushing doesn't help. He then said 'don't look in the toilet mummy' - oh, alright then .

dizzy, that's outrageous .
