Aaarrr - slaps thigh & gives menacing look

Have just had a phone call from the hospital to say that Sam's OT is off sick indefinitely now! Have only just managed to get him another physio after a wait of 2 months - hope it doesn't take them that long for OT.

bunnyrabbit · 10/06/2009 16:11

Soph, what a bugger. Can you jump over to someone else's list?

SuperSoph73 · 10/06/2009 16:13

BR - no because the others are all spoken for and I have to have his appointment at 8.30am because his physio is at 9am and obviously can't do any later as I have to start work and can't afford any more time off

Sorry about that mahoosive sentence

TheShipsCat · 10/06/2009 19:26

Soph - how annoying. Hope the OT isn't too sick - but 'indefinitely' doesn't sound good. Is there anything you can do?

Scorpio nice to see you back. Glad everything's OK. Don't leave again...

LadyBee · 10/06/2009 22:20

hi Scorpio-girl, nice to see you again.
I was also in Pirates of Penzance once-upon-a-time. Was a lot of fun.
Had a lovely chilled time with BabyBee today, TSC it did make me think seriously about whether a second was a good idea when it be so nice devoting lots of attention to one. Also think I'm destined to get a really demanding second seeing B is pretty damn easy-going really.
I wonder how MHAH's job hunt is going? and is Sal on holiday now?

SuperSoph73 · 11/06/2009 09:27

Morning all. How are we all?

TSC - nope, absolutely nothing I can do. But if nothing's sorted within a couple of weeks I shall be writing another letter. That seemed to do the trick re his physio so let's see

Ladybee - not necessarily. Both my boys have been brilliant, chilled out babies. However, if Sam could get up and about he'd be running around all over the place. Whereas Tom never saw the reason for doing anything at speed if he didn't need too ... is still the same now (takes after his mum)

bunnyrabbit · 11/06/2009 10:35

Isn't it funny how so many people have done am dram!

LadyBee, agree with soph, I have two very easy, eat anything, sleep all night boys here.

Everyone told me DS2 would be a nightmare as DS1 was so good and it turned out to be complete Bs. DS2 is even more chilled than DS1. Eats for England loves his lunchtime sleep and smiles all the time. Now if only the lazy b would get off his bum and walk!

BR

SuperSoph73 · 11/06/2009 11:14

BR - loads of people told me that too, especially people who had had nightmare children. Then when Sam turned up this look was all I saw every time I went into the staffroom - LOL. Of course all I could do was this

bunnyrabbit · 11/06/2009 13:02

I must be honest, I don't tend to tell people.

Whenever you meet other parents they talk about sleepless nights and feeding horrors and I've just been extremely lucky and have never had these issues (except for the BFing hiccough with DS1). No one wants to hear that your children go to bed at 7 and generally we get them up after 7.30 at weekends. No one wants to hear that your kids will eat virtually anything, anywhere and will sleep anywhere if you take their 'bits' with. That your 5 year old will choose grapes and apples over bisuits and stop eating half way through a chocolate bar if he's full.

I'd love to gloat, but no one wants to hear it!!!

But then there is the ASD so I suppose it's not quite Stepford!!!

BR

SuperSoph73 · 11/06/2009 13:28

BR - oh no, don't get me wrong I definitely don't go round telling all and sundry, rubbing their noses in it. It tends to be other people telling other people iyswim. And, like you say we have other things to worry about with Sam so just thank our lucky stars that he's been as easy as he has been so far

bunnyrabbit · 11/06/2009 14:03

LOL - Well both your boys look very edible to me (sneaked a look at your photos) and I am a renowned baby baster!

BTW, what's the age gap? Mine is 4y 7m.

BR

SuperSoph73 · 11/06/2009 14:49

Just had a look at your photos too - very gorgeous There are 5 yrs 6 mnths between my two. I was a firm believer in the 1 child policy for several years

bunnyrabbit · 11/06/2009 14:59

LOL we just sort of forgot really. And then realised that we'd better get our arses in gear before I got too long in the tooth!

SuperSoph73 · 11/06/2009 15:02

Can I just please have a moment .....

Crap, crap, crap and quadruple crap .... DH has just asked me for a copy of Sam's certificate but the folder with all his stuff in it is in the car. However, I'm having a panic attack at the moment because I was looking in the folder the other day because I needed copies for something else and I really, honestly don't remember seeing it

The problem is when you're given the certificate you are told under no circumstances is it to leave your sweaty little mits and you're supposed to carry it with you all the time and they don't/won't issue another. So ..... crap, crap, crap and quadruple crap.

Please, please, please let it be in the folder at home.

SuperSoph73 · 11/06/2009 15:03

I mean the folder is at home - not in the car .... see, can't even think straight

SuperSoph73 · 11/06/2009 15:04

BR - how do you "sort of" forget - LOL

bunnyrabbit · 11/06/2009 15:17

Oh bummer. Calm girl. It will be in the folder. Don't suppose you photocopied it or scanned it??

Well I didn't have DS1 till I was 36, and we'd been married 6 years and well.. we were just getting on with life really.... everything was in a nice routine DS1 being completely portable made going away on hols or weekends easy and well we did sort of forget. Then when we talked about it we decided we didn't want DS1 to be an only child if we could help it and remembered it took a year to conceive DS1 and perhaps we should get going so to speak.

Sounds really rather naive and stupid but that's really what happened. Considering I'm a project manager you'd think I'd have things more organised!!!!

When I was little I thought I'd be engaged at 19, married at 21 and have my first child at 23!!! LOL thinking about it now.

What about you guys? How did you plan yours?

BR

SuperSoph73 · 11/06/2009 15:25

Am taking very deep breaths as we speak. I didn't scan it but am pretty sure (I think) I photocopied it a gazillion times like all other paperwork over here.

I met DH when I was 24 & he was 29. We got married 4 years later & knew that we wanted to start a family asap & I was adamant that I would have my first child by the time I was 30, which I managed, just It took us 6 months to conceive DS1 so we were quite chuffed. Pregnancy was a breeze but then DS1 was born by emergency c-section ... scary & it took me ages to recover so I told DH sorry, but that was it.

Everything was fine for 4 years & then for some unknown reason I had to have another baby DH was delighted but we needed to find a house to buy first. Fortunately we did, started trying for another baby & every month nothing happened I was a wreck. DH told me to calm down & we forgot about ttc and the next thing I knew there was DS2 .... the funny thing is, looking back, it only took us 7 months

bunnyrabbit · 11/06/2009 15:39

lol at 'had to have another baby'!

Peachy · 11/06/2009 15:51

How did we plan? well Dnaiel and I were discussing trying straight after we married, a few months later.

Then I met Mark at work in September, started dating in December (after I ended it with D), moved in together in jabuary out of both practicality and lust love, engaged in February..... Dh started going on about a baby and said well you can only have a baby or a sports car (as he had the money there for the car), chose baby, preggers in a month, married 3 months after delivery of ds1 and here we are a decade later

DS2 was a gap of 13 months as ds1's pregnancy was ahrd and I kew it'd worry me mroe the longer we waited, but as that was so smooth (in comparison) we had ds3 after 2 more years and what with the boys autism diagnoses etc we waited until ds1 was 8 before making firm decision about ds4.

Soph, you know you said to mention the hositalising - gym - floor to school? Well I did and they said that 'yes we know but its his fault as we told him to keep moving' . Okaaaaaaaay.

bunnyrabbit · 11/06/2009 16:04

You had a baby after a few months out of wed lock bacause you were in lust love? How romantic Outrageous. Disgusting behaviour. I am -jealous-- aghast and need to lie down to recover from the stitch in my side from laughing shock!

bunnyrabbit · 11/06/2009 16:06

Just realised, you've been with your DH 10 years and have 4 DCs. I'd been with my DH 10 years before I had my first!!!

LOL

SuperSoph73 · 11/06/2009 16:06

Ah Peachy what a lovely story

Am completely about what the school said though. Someone needs a good slap.

Peachy - can I also just say that I saw the other thread and have only one word for you Missus "stay" or I'm coming to get you .... be afraid, be very afraid

Peachy · 11/06/2009 16:06

Look, it's working OK?

Had known him for a bit as a colleague,so not completely unchartered territory.

SuperSoph73 · 11/06/2009 16:08

You prude, you BR However, yes Peachy, shocking behaviour
