Scorps · 20/07/2009 13:18

Ellie hope you're not too worried

And poor G!I always have to force feed my babies medicine shooting it in a syrige in the back of their mouth works

Thankyou all re SF, , i guess i can just be careful, and i dont think there is much here anyway (9 cases in local private boarding school a few weeks ago but nothing in media since AFAIK). DH is not going to Greece so thats reducing a risk, plus i have gel i use and kids use on hands often. Just even if Smidge is born and im BF i will safer for Smidge iyswim.

Smidge moves quite a bit now, i feel him/her a few times a day now. 2 weeks Friday till scan....place your gender bets now.....

Scorps thinks Smidge is a boy

EllieG · 20/07/2009 13:18

Poor George, what a horrid mummy you are
Glad he's on the mend though

EllieG · 20/07/2009 13:20

You thought Mimi was a boy too

Scorps · 20/07/2009 14:01

I'm crap at guessing, i thought the boys were girls

KnitterInTheNW · 20/07/2009 14:06

Haha Scorps, that's so funny! So, that means that Smidge (fab name btw!) will be a girl, because you think he/she is a boy.

Therefore, Knitter bets that Smidge will be a girl.

I was convinced that G was a girl, til we saw definate definate boy bits in all their glory at the 20 wk scan! Took a few days to get my head round the fact that I was growing a willy!

Oh, and any more Avon orders? (Shameless reminder!)

SalLikesCoffee · 20/07/2009 19:28

Ellie Glad that she could get the medicines immediately before she got ill.

Re meet-up - for some reason I got it into my head that it's on a weekday, hence the comment re coming straight from work. I'll prob bring R with then, or if he's really busy, bring him with to introduce, but then get dh to pick him up and they can go off and do boys' stuff!

LadyBee · 20/07/2009 21:44

I wondered about that, Sal but just assumed you were putting in extra hours.

Shall we book for 11am, then I can come to that and tell others that I'll be late for hen, and get a good hour with people - that's enough time for me to have a bit of a chat.

SalLikesCoffee · 20/07/2009 22:06

That sounds great, yes.

Quite the day for you, Ladybee!

EllieG · 21/07/2009 08:55

Cool - who's going to book then? And how many?

I think that's it?

Last night I was COMPLETELY freaking out about going away and leaving Molly fri-sun, to the point of oh-my-god-I-can't-go I know, rationally, that on friday she will be at nursery as usual so won't notice am not there til bedtime and I will be back on sunday afternoon but I am SO worried about missing her and her missing me. Has anyone else left their LOs for a weekend? Were they alright? Were you?

DSD is being a pain in the bum at the moment. So hormonal and argues and cries about everything. We had a Serious Chat about it this morning, which I hope has made a difference. Though, tbh, DH doesn't deal too well as he pays too much attention to it.

bunnyrabbit · 21/07/2009 09:23

Have only left DS2 for 1 night, but had left DS1 for two nights several times by this age and he coped very well with Grandma and Grandad at his beck and call thank you very much!!

11 is great fo me...

BR

MommyHasaHeadache · 21/07/2009 10:01

OMW Ellie - how scary! I hope the poor babe is alright - rather take the meds than get SF. I've never left Gigi and the idea upsets me too. I keep thinking how nice it would be for DH and I to go away for the w/e and leave Gigi with Granny, but then I get a bit worked up thinking about it, so it's never happened! lol I bet she would be fine though, just as I am sure Molly will be A-OK with her Daddy!

11am is fine with me. Gigi actually has swimming at 10:30am, but that might be something her and DH can do together that day!

Poor G Knitter - hope he is feeling hundreds today. And don't worry - I also have to force feed Gigi meds - also with a syringe to the back of the throat - although I have to say getting the syringe in can be tricky sometimes!

And Scorps - I also have the feeling it's a... girl! A little girly to keep Mimi company!

Denny185 · 21/07/2009 13:46

Put me down for a pink one too.

Scorps · 21/07/2009 13:49

it's going to be a boy you know

There is SF at the kids nursery, the deputy manager who i spent a time with chatting yesterday is ill today....argghh. MW said not to worry, use hand gel & sensible hygiene and not to worry. If i do feel poorly to ring GP who may or may not prescribe, depending on illness severity as its not trialled in pg women. I have kept kids off today and will be being sensible over holidays.

I have pink uggs

Hope Molly is ok, Ellie.

EllieG · 21/07/2009 14:25

Oh poo that's rotten scorps. Just keep an eye on yourself and the kids and remember is just flu, unplesant but unlikely to do anything horrid unless you have an underlying health condition or are particularly weak for some reason. Will all be OK. And look at your funny knitted shoes, they will make you feel better

WiggADiWiggaDiWa · 21/07/2009 14:43

Hi all, tis VS.

Sorry haven't been about much, this stuff at work has gone toally tits up, massive massive ishoos with procedures not being followed etc, I can't talk much about it on here as it seems some parents are MNers, combined with my general extreme busybeebum lately I disappeared for a while.

Might as well tell you all as well, not that I can really see any of you minding (anyone who I thought may have been hurt by it I have messaged via FB so I'm sorry if you have been hurt and not had an apology as such from me) but I've posted on another thread on MN telling anyway so would prefer you to hear it from me. I am a 'mouldie'. Was asked recently if I wanted to join and it was an offer that appeared right in the middle of me feeling I desperately needed to offload somewhere and wasn't able to do so on MN, so I joined. Again, I'm sorry fi any of you are heart by that.

Hope you're all doing good, Scorps, LOVE Lacey, very pretty, Lacey Marie?

WiggADiWiggaDiWa · 21/07/2009 14:44

Hurt by that, hurt, not heart.

Scorps · 21/07/2009 14:44

LOL Ellie thats something my nan would have said (about my uggs)i do heart them. DH kind of looked at me like this: about them

I left Mimi for a long weekend when i went to the spa, but she was with DH who she loves more than me anyway. I was fine, strangely Havent left her with anyone else overnight yet...although hoping to get in a dirty weekend break before Smidge is born, maybe to Bath. I want to suprise DH with it for his birthday in Sept

KnitterInTheNW · 21/07/2009 14:52

lol Scorps, only you could be planning a dirty weekend when you're 6 months pg!

OP posts:
EllieG · 21/07/2009 16:41

Wigga/VS - well I saw your post on the other thread already and would just like to say that personally, I am incredibly hurt and you are no longer allowed in our gang.

Only joking - don't be a silly sausage, there is no need to worry here

Seriously though - was wondering how you were and how things are at work - am sorry they have been crappy.

WiggADiWiggaDiWa · 21/07/2009 16:50

Wish I could say more Ellie but basically BIG MASSIVE incestigation going on, possibly going to result in quite a few staff getting sacked. I've cried a million times over it, those poor ickle babies are the same age as hours.

EllieG · 22/07/2009 09:56

It sounds like you've had a horrid time, but if things are as bad as you are saying you've done a great thing in reporting it VS. I would hate to think there was bad practice and Molly's nursery and no one spoke up and it was affecting the children. Well done you for being brave x

[gives wigga a big pat on back]

KnitterInTheNW · 23/07/2009 12:39

Very quiet in here at the mo!

Looks like me and G will be moving to Leicester for a while when the rent runs out on this house at the end of September. DH reckons downstairs won't be anywhere near ready in the new house, and it's either that or all of us move in with odd ILs. That is NOT going to happen! Sounded mum out about it and she's gone off to sort the little bedroom out for G! (Excited at the prospect of seeing G every day? Mum? Never!) We're there in a couple of weeks for a week anyway so needs doing anyway. Well it's not an absoloute neccesity but he does sleep better on his own, and his cot has been in with us at their house up to now.

I'll book Giraffe if you like? So 6 adults and how many dc? For 11am?

How is everyone? G is still a bit under the weather, but I think more down to teething than anything else. He still just has the 4 teeth but I can see at least 6 more on their way. We've been having fun and games at night for a few nights, he's been needing calpol and rocking back off to sleep. I don't mind while he needs the comfort, but hoping he doesn't get too reliant on it. Otherwise boot camp again when he's better!

Reilly's dad, his GF and GF mum have SF today. Reilly was there with his dad yesterday oh FFS what shall/can i do?

EllieG · 23/07/2009 13:07

Take him to doc - he can take tamiflu as a precaution like Molly is - will stop him getting it and you too.
