Journey planner reckons it'll take us 10 mins on the tube from Euston to Waterloo. Plus faffing around getting ticket, finding platform, walking to wherever at the other end, that's when we could meet!

Scorps, journey planner also says half an hour for you from city airport to waterloo, Docklands light railway then tube. Go on go on go on, you know you want to! (And we do!)

Ellie, my head is being very big and swollen from you saying that about my knitting.

Denny185 · 15/07/2009 18:45

Im not keen on names ending in ey, but only coz I have a South London accent and youve all heard how they Stacey is pronounced in Eastenders - say no more

KnitterInTheNW · 15/07/2009 18:54

Names ending in an 'ie' or 'ey' sound are awful in Leicester where I'm from, I can't describe it very well but it my name is pronounced 'Kateh' and it annoys the hell out of me!

OP posts:
Scorps · 15/07/2009 19:19

Oooh i bet my name sounds fabulous too Knitter! Thats ok with cornish accents, and anyway not many people here that i know are 'proper cornish' anyway!

Well we will see what baby is in 3 weeks...i wonder.

Denny185 · 15/07/2009 19:20

hmm, random they in middle of last post. Know exactly what u mean knitter.

Just found out today that we r loosing yet another member of staff so my department will go from 5 to just 2, and we r both part time. The commisioners r yet to decided if we can re-recrute any of them. My manager phoned today and said not to worry too much if waiting lists go up - gee thanks.

Denny185 · 15/07/2009 19:20

Do u have a preference if its pink or blue?

EllieG · 15/07/2009 22:00

My last post was a bit blunt sorry, I got interrupted by work, very inconveniently I might add -

I meant to say can we do Canteen Or Giraffe in Southbank please is easy for me to get down there from my sister's. She has said she probably won't be free for lunch so will be by self so need easy tube ride or might get lost!
Early is fine with me, was also going to say since knitter you are coming in so early should we have a nice early meet up so you aren't all by yourself for ever in a day, and then rushing back. Also then BR can come too.

scorps - bless you with your trendy young ways, 90 pounds for a pair of pink knitted shoes is in no way a bargain, as they'll be filthy at the first sign of a puddle and probably have to be handwashed or summat, but I bet you will look fab in them as you are a very lovely looking and fashionable type gal indeed

Hey denny - sounds like you're going to be super-busy at work for a bit then eh?

Oh and hello soph from yesterday or something, hope your ID problems went OK

And hello sal and ladybee and BR and MHAH too

KnitterInTheNW · 15/07/2009 23:20

In that case, can we do Giraffe then please? I've been drooling over the menu like a complete nutter...

My train home isn't til 5ish, but if we're meeting early I could see if some of my other London friends fancied meeting up for a cuppa afterwards. How exciting!

OP posts:
bunnyrabbit · 16/07/2009 08:35

Giraffe sounds good to me. It's about 1.5 to 2 hour journey for me I think so I can come as early as you like. DS1 likes to eat early too. In fact, he just likes to eat!!

Hope all the MMRs went ok .....

BR
Scorps, I'll be on hols when you find out.. must log in at library without DH finding out!

MommyHasaHeadache · 16/07/2009 08:43

Giraffe suits me! So what time are we meeting then?

MMR top up went fine - she gave a scream but was then quickly distracted by a stranger coming in to the room! Well timed stranger!

Denny - hope the powers that be at your work rethink the situation - how on earth are 2 part timers meant to cope with a 5 person job?!

bunnyrabbit · 16/07/2009 09:15

MommyHAH
Can I just clarify somthing? Is this the second MMR DD has had? I thought they didn't have the booster until they were 3.

BR

MommyHasaHeadache · 16/07/2009 09:53

BR - it is a top up MMR, so yes, I guess a 2nd one. She is now only due the next one when she is 3. The Nurse suggested it as there is so much measles in the area, and quite frankly, I would rather she had it then caught measles.

bunnyrabbit · 16/07/2009 10:06

Oh I see. I was very confused at her having another one, but then I am easily confused!!

EllieG · 16/07/2009 13:02

I was wondering about that too...Molly was quite poorly after her MMR but is always hard to judge with babies why things are wrong with them isn't it? Could've been that or teeth or cold. Who knows.

I hate my job today. Can anyone think of something that will earn me money but just involves sitting drinking tea and/or eating cake?

EllieG · 16/07/2009 13:09

Giraffe menu looks yummy...I am hungry....

Shall we book it do you think if we know rough numbers and times etc?

So far is:
Me
knitter
ladybee
bunnyrabbit
MHAH
sal

Anyone else?

Scorps · 16/07/2009 13:09

Ellie you can be my Nanny or you should set up Ellie's Tea Rooms or summit. i am lol @ you saying that about my boots i have ordered the Amazon ones (£90) and they should be here v v v soon

Have a headache today but think DH may come home early, its tipping down here.

FWIW, all mine have been ill after MMR, but rather that than measles or anything, actually IMO.

Scorps · 16/07/2009 13:10

What can oyu eat at Giraffe? I am very into food porn at present [heffer emoticon]

EllieG · 16/07/2009 13:12

Right then scorps - my terms are as much tea as I can drink and access to industrial quanities of Mr Kipling's famous baked goods.

Scorps · 16/07/2009 13:13

Suits me fine though you may have to sleep in the shed or something

EllieG · 16/07/2009 13:13

All sort of yummy things there - sort of world food, Americanish stuff too by looks of it. Yum.

EllieG · 16/07/2009 13:14

Done! See you tomorrow

Scorps · 16/07/2009 13:15

it's a nice shed has electric and everything

EllieG · 16/07/2009 13:19

Sounds better than my flat! And I might stand a chance of getting some decent kip there too LOL

Scorps · 16/07/2009 13:26

oh yes we have good sleep here (prob hence why i keep getting pregnant )

I'm not allowed any more babies you know. but too.

I'm off for tea and white choc chip soft gooey cookies that DDDDDH bought me

KnitterInTheNW · 16/07/2009 13:45

Scorps, menu for Giraffe here. Now if that can't persuade you to come, nothing can! scroll down for the rest! Have your tea and cookies got rid of your headache? Have you drunk enough today? I get headaches when I don't.

I think booking would be a good idea, although if we're turning up before most people have their lunch breaks we may not need to. Was that helpful?

G is being a little honey at the moment, he's suddenly started to be able to do what I ask, like 'can you fetch the car key for me (that was on the floor!) or can you put this in the bin please, and he does it! And is very pleased with himself that he can do it, too. Better make the most of it, I'm sure it won't last long!
