Peachy · 18/06/2009 10:26

Morning all

measles jab cancelled- sickly Bas. Bah humbug!. booked in again for August though (our time management issues not theirs)

MO- sorry about your ex. 6 months is nothing though- even I waited longer un til we actually married.

Scorps glad it went OK. 25th December eh? My uncles birthday. I'dtell you what he thinks of it but its buried underneath some insane rant about the war / how wonderful the germans are / .

Peachy · 18/06/2009 10:27

Oh and Soph- how's DS1?

madameovary · 18/06/2009 10:54

Ah I'm well rid Peachy. And he IS going to "repent at leisure".

SuperSoph73 · 18/06/2009 10:55

Morning.

Scorps - pleased it all went well.

DS1 is fine today thankfully and thanks for asking He's really looking forward to his concert, bless him. I'm going to help out with the costumes before the concert as there are more exams in the Library today.

Sam's head seems to be healing remarkably quickly. It's really strange, it's like you can actually see it getting better iykwim.

TheShipsCat · 18/06/2009 14:25

Glad your boys are on the mend Soph - it's horrible when the LOs fall isn't it? But you can't catch them every time!

Sal -so excited about Peru for you. Journey will be fine - and if not fine, then it'll be over in just 10 short hours, or whatever it is! A was fine when we went long haul.

Scorpio - congrats on the scan! I went into hospital on the 25th December for dd1. But she didn't turn up till 28th, so not quite a Christmas brithday. But we've decided now to give her presents on dd2's birthday instead as otherwise its too expensive too much for her to cope with all at once.

And we have exciting news! We are moving back to London . When's the August meet up? Not sure when we are moving yet, but I am going to have to be there a lot to find nurseries etc.

SuperSoph73 · 19/06/2009 11:44

Bored, bored, bored. All the exams are finished & there are next to no students in & I haven't got any work to do. I could be at home enjoying myself instead of dying of terminal boredom here

TSC - how exciting for you. Aren't you the family that live on a boat?

Sal - have a great time in Peru. Very

DS1's concert was very good & they all enjoyed themselves. The smoke machine managed to set off the fire alarm though but most of the parents thought it was part of the show

EllieG · 19/06/2009 20:51

Hey ladies! Sorry I haven't been around much this week, have been being duty social worker this week and it's been SO busy...

Molly is being lovely at moment, she's starting to try out more words and says 'Mummeeee mummeee mummeee' a lot as well as 'duck' now, though all other animals are 'dog' apparently, so don't think she's going to be a zoologist. She also tries to say DSD's name - Jess, though is more like 'Deds' or 'Deddie' for Jessie, which is lovely cos it makes DSD SO proud bless her.

MO - chin up lovey - you're well shot of him and doing fabulously without [supportive hug emoticon]

scorps - glad scan went well! Though I am a little bit sick at you feeling fat as a size 8

Hey soph - glad future SIL is OK - Molly fell off the bed the other day and I swear I just turned my back for a teeny second and boof! On floor and yelling. Horrid, you have my sympathies, but he is fine and still lovely

hey peachy and knitter [waves]

sal - enjoy peru! Am so very, very jealous, but you have a lovely time

TSC - 22nd August! Will be fab! We are meeting for lunch somewhere (am hoping sal and ladybee have good ideas) though I may meet knitter off the train earlier depending on what time she's in and where I am.

I am VERY excited about the meet up and want everybody to come. Scorps, are you still flying up?

SalLikesCoffee · 20/06/2009 11:38

Quick hallo as I'm running late (as always) - haven't started packing yet and we fly in a couple of hours...

Thank you very much for the nice messages! Trip almost fell through because R's developed bronchiolitis (again!), but he's better than yesterday and the doctor gave him an extra, stronger asthma pump to use. He said we could go as long as it doesn't get worse (saw him yesterday afternoon), and - yay!!! - not only didn't it get worse, R improved majorly since yesterday! Was even all laughy and giggly this morning, and actually slept last night, in contrast to the one before.

Oh, and dh passed his exam (did an extra qual for new stuff he does for work) on Fri, so everyone in a great mood here!

Oh shit, just realised we're supposed to go to airport in 3 hours, i've got wet hair, not properly dressed, not packed... Guess I have to run!

Will try and say hi every now and again whilst away.

Take care,

xxx
S.

VictorianSqualor · 21/06/2009 09:27

Hey everyone.
Just skimmed quickly and saw TSC's question about nursery, how is it going now TSC?

EllieG · 21/06/2009 19:40

Where is everyone?

KnitterInTheNW · 21/06/2009 20:03

Hi Ellie!

OP posts:
bunnyrabbit · 22/06/2009 08:35

Hi all, sorry was on a first aid course last week.

Sal, hope you have a fabulous time.....

Hi Ellie and KITN, VS and Soph et al!!!!

BR

paranoidmummy · 22/06/2009 11:45

Hello everyone, glad to see you are all doing well. Just popping in quickly to say hi really.

DS2 had bilateral implant surgery last Monday, which despite being the most traumatic experience of my life and something I hope never ever to experience again(!) went fantastically well. Switch on won't be for another 6 weeks (more waiting!) but the testing they did in theater indicated that all electrodes were working at normal hearing levels so fingers crossed We are having to be vigilant with infection but seems to be recovering well (fingers crossed) and he is still walking which is fab as they told us balance would be affected and his walking would be put back.

On another note, I am almost 27 weeks pregnant, have known I am expecting a dd since I was 12 weeks yet I have NO names! Like nothing that me and DH will agree on. Pleassssssssssseeeeeeee help, its driving me mad. How can we not have one that we agree on?! So please any girls names fire away! Also VS if you are around would it be possible to send me that stuff on vba2c? Sorry to nag, I just don't seem to be able to find any real evidence on it and really need to make up my mind what I am doing!!

I have only skim read so sorry if I've missed reporting on something huge. Oh... FAB news on scan Scorpio what a lovely Christmas present.

It seems a lot quieter on here nowadays, I suspect the end of maternity leave and return to work has forced that for us all!

Anyway love to everyone and any GIRLS NAMES and I'll love you for life!!!

bunnyrabbit · 22/06/2009 13:21

Hi PM.

Excuse my ignorance, is that cochlea implant? Both sides? I bet that was horribly traumatic. Poor you and poor DS2. Hope all works out OK. It's amazing how quickly they bounce back though. We're left emotional wrecks and they just get back on with things!!

I have a friend and a cousin who have given their girls some unusual names:

Willow
Skye
Chiara
Kezia

All of which I like.....

Any good?

BR

KnitterInTheNW · 22/06/2009 13:27

Hi, BR & PM

Glad to hear that DS is recovering well PM, how stressful for you though! You must be very relieved that that part's over.

Girls names that I like at the moment are Erin and Hannah, and I love Alice too. One of my nanny babies is Alice, so I feel like I already have one and can't use the name for any possible DDs!

In fact I'll list all my girl charges names, one might appeal:

Emma
Lucy
Alice
Elizabeth (Lizzie)
Madeleine (Maddy)
Florence
Bryony

What kind of names do you like? Modern? Granny names?

I'm eating the most delicious soup I've ever made, it has onion, celery, potato, carrot, tomatoes and red lentils in. I might need to have another bowl in a minute!

OP posts:
TheShipsCat · 22/06/2009 13:35

Poor you, PM. Hope it's OK now.

VS - thanks. Still a bit of a problem. She wouldn't let go of me this morning when her KW was there, I had to find another member of staff to take her. All a bit embarrassing, and I don't want KW to feel bad about it. Any suggestions?

bunnyrabbit · 22/06/2009 13:38

Cat, did you speak to the nursery at all while she was away?

SuperSoph73 · 22/06/2009 14:41

Afternoon all.

PM - so pleased that lo's implants went well. They do recover quickly don't they. On girls names the only ones I really like are: Emily, Hannah and Hope.

Ellie - Hi You can barely see where Sam fell now, thank goodness.

We braved the swimming pool again this weekend and Sam avoided falling off anything and went for a swim. I shall post some photos tomorrow.

Also, I've had all my hair chopped off ... and I mean all my hair. It's now as short as DH's and I've got a fringe, which is really taking some getting used to. I realised that I haven't had hair like this for 21 years I'm so old I've also cricked my neck so am in absolute piggin' agony at the moment. I've had to turn the air-con off to stop it from bothering my neck and now I'm boiling. Sorry, whinge over

EllieG · 22/06/2009 16:15

Photo of new hair needed soph!

KnitterInTheNW · 22/06/2009 16:33

Ooo yes, photo, definately!

OP posts:
VictorianSqualor · 22/06/2009 17:53

Hmm, something has obviously upset her, possibly something really small but nevertheless I'd ask for a meeting with her keyworker tbh. Its not a good thing i she doesn't have a good relationship with her, for whatever reason.

How is the nursery run? Do they have someone higher than KW (but nto manager) you can go to?

LadyBee · 22/06/2009 21:07

hi hi, sorry, been completely rubbish, am trying to get an editing test done and its taking me forever. Also went wedding dress shopping and now in post-shopping depression.
Other than that things pretty fine here, B has cut a couple more teeth fiiiiiiinally, and is starting to hit and throw and fling himself around and generally be a bit of a demon when he gets frustrated.
Am now going to read thread and attempt to catch up on all your news.

LadyBee · 22/06/2009 21:41

gosh lots of lovely news - Scorpio have you started telling people now? Any good reactions?
TSC - yay for coming back to London! I wonder where you'll end up?
PM - sounds v positive about the surgery, hope DS's recovery continues well, I'm really curious to know what happens with the 'switch on'.
Good on Sam too for his recovery - B fell over and split his lip a little while ago - I nearly died seeing the blood on his face but he wasn't too bothered.
Wow - Sal! You're in Peru!
Girls names:
these are recent babies I know:

Ruby
Daisy
Miriam
Serena
Marlo
Nancy
Holly

KnitterInTheNW · 22/06/2009 23:10

See I always really liked Nancy, but my MIL is called that and she's ruined it forever...

If I ever have a DD her middle name will be Beatrice, my grandma's name.

OP posts:
LadyBee · 22/06/2009 23:39

I can only think of Nancy Drew books. I read them back to back on summer holidays with my cousin
