I love Pampers!!

Swaliswan · 20/05/2009 12:49

Juw, will you stop with all of this running and sit down?!

LoobyLaBoobs · 20/05/2009 12:53

i find pampers better than huggies.. although everyone has bought us huggies.. also ollie never really does massive poos and wees so doesnt get too full.. superdrug brand ones are CRAP snuggles i think they called...binned them

juw you could have got away with that, making us believe your all energised while we're slumming it on here :P

this anitibotics best kick in soon, could do with some good old gas n air

Schulte · 20/05/2009 13:33

Looby sorry to hear you are feeling so ill. Hugs and hope the antibiotics will make you better soon!

H has at least one poo accident a day. She's even had the stuff in her hair, lovely!

Swali - Friday is my first day with both girls and I have to go for a blood test, and the usual Friday afternoon coffees with NCT group have been cancelled so no idea how I'll survive! Let us know how you're getting on!

Right, might try and dump H in her cot and get myself a sandwich. Have a feeling it won't work though - she keeps opening one eye to check she's still lying on my chest! Spoilt brat

Juwesm · 20/05/2009 14:32

Spider Cat

tristalewjac · 20/05/2009 14:37

Hey guys,

BB - hope you're doing ok today away from K, it must be so strange. Hope you manage to enjoy the time on your own though.
Chicken and broccoli lasagne sounds ace! Would you manage to quickly let me know how you make it?

Gingersarah - (((Hugs))) I totally know how you feel. If my day is gonna have a dark place it's around that time too. I find it quite a claustrophobic feeling, settling a household down for the night. That might sound totally outrageous, and I don't really know how to explain it. Maybe it's to do with the daylight disappearing for another day.
Anyway, I've had a load of crazy horrible wobbly moments since having Lewin, and for various different reasons. But there's a way I get through it. As soon as I catch myself falling into a negative thought, eg "oh god I have so much to do the house is a mess" or "fuck, I'm alone and I don't know how to cope with 2 boys", I make a point of stopping and saying "little steps".
That's it, little steps. Because I have to take things slow, I cant put unnecessary pressure on myself, and I cant possibly know what life is gonna throw at me next.
Little steps.
You've just had a baby, life can wait a while, and there's no rule that says thou shalt not sit on the sofa in thy pj's and bond with thy baby!
Have you told DP how you feel? Maybe if you two agreed that when he gets home you get a set amount of time to be alone and do something like chill in the bath for half an hour? He may have been working all day but you have been too. Except your work hasn't had any breaks. Just because you dont leave the house in the morning doesn't mean you're not working. Surely he'd understand you need some 'me' time. He needs quality dad time too, might be good for him bonding.

Lauren - sorry to hear you're not well. It must be awful. Please stop feeling guilty and get resting! Your nan is no doubt loving every minute of babysitting, so you just concentrate on getting better!

mrsgboring - you're so brave ((hugs)). You must have gone through some amount of worrying during your pregnancy, maybe even still. Good luck tomorrow, we'll be thinking of you.

nutty - thanks for the crazy jumpy hug!
I'm with you there, I HATE pampers too. We tried them once with DS1 and he pretty much instantly got nappy rash so we got rid of them too. Never used them again. I use tesco's ones and they're fab. They're so much cheaper too. I really want to be using the cloth nappies but the wraps I have are not quite right yet so waiting on Lewin's bum growing a bit more!

By the way I kept DS1's first bogey as I was shocked at how huge it was, I still have it in his keepsake box!

mrsgboring · 20/05/2009 15:22

Trista, "Little steps" is brilliant. Shall remember that.

Uh oh can't chat. DS1 has got a load of glitter (trying to do a lovely craft moment with DS1 while DS2 sleeps )

bronze · 20/05/2009 16:08

I just had to ggole a stokke. First site said save 152 ona stokke to which I went into shock having not even spent 152 on a buggy int he first place

bronze · 20/05/2009 16:08

I think I'm a scrooge

tristalewjac · 20/05/2009 16:09

ha ha we've been doing crafts as well it's something you can set up quickly while the tiny people are sleeping. I bought DS1 the mister maker magazine, it's loads of fun! It has easy ideas but also has some things inside it ready to cut out and make.
We made crowns yesterday, one for DS1 and a tiny one for Lewin. I'll get a pic of them wearing them at some point and put it on my profile, they're so cute!

PuzzleRocks · 20/05/2009 16:15

Good afternoon

We have ants. Aaaaaargh. Does anyone know of anything safe that I can use?

Weather permitting, we will have a family bbq this weekend.

MrsG - I'm sorry to hear about your DD. And i'm not surprised you didn't feel up to the ante-natal chat with the stress of such a worrying pregnancy this tme round. It's wonderful that Edmund has been given a clean bill of health. Here's to a straightforward op and quick recovery.
I'm sort of a SAHM too, I work but from home (self-employed accountant) and for only a handful of days a month. I used to work in Soho for a media company and loved everything that that entailed but now nothng could compel me to go back. Not even the financial ruin we face.

Maths - How's Amelia? Ok I hope. And your good self?

Trista - Brilliant news about the house. I hope DS1 is better soon. Good to hear you sounding so upbeat and having faith in yourself. You are an amazing role model to your boys.

Rachel - Poor Clement. I hope he gets over it quickly.

Looby - You poor bugger, get well soon.

BB - I hope London isn't too much of a struggle today and you get loads of lovely snuggles from Kara when you get home.

Nutty - Supermarket will swap without a receipt.

Swaliswan - Good to hear from you. You'll be fine tomorrow.

Frekkles - The disconnected bit is normal, I felt the same with DD1 at first. of the sex.

On the subject, my stitches look pretty good but i'm terrified of them bursting if we go for it. What do you reckon? It has been 5 weeks.

hey guys, little A is better now, just a cold and eye infection but she was struggling to feed

I, on the other hand, am a super goddess. of course.

Damn it puzzle, haven'v voted yet - can I emial BB today? And can I just choose the categories I know something about (eg have no flippin idea about lengths of labours..)

tristalewjac · 20/05/2009 16:39

Oh god Lewin just sprayed poo all over me while I was changing him
Oh well, that shows I was right not to get dressed out of my jogging bottoms today!

Hey maths, glad A is better, sounds like you guys have had a horrible time.

PuzzleRocks · 20/05/2009 16:40

Yes and yes Maths. Glad she's better.
DD2 has had a sticky eye, not infected though. DD1 was most amused by Mummy squirting milk in her little sisters face.

trista, little steps sounds a good idea, thats my problem too i try and think of everything at once and get like wooooaaah and just sit and cry. i was a massive hormonal mess last week. being so bloody ill this week is not helping. little steps..little steps...

bronze i had to google stokke too, never seen anything like that before! my pushchair looks crap now lol!

LoobyLaBoobs · 20/05/2009 17:10

puzzle me and dp attempted it last week, that was just 2 weeks after, i got stitches too, didnt work and bloody hurt, we were very horny and apparently stupid... oh look thats how little man got here in the first place!!

tristalewjac · 20/05/2009 17:15

That's it looby, I had to say it to myself loads in the first couple of weeks. Now it's a lot easier. Still not 100% but it does get better. Just remember there will always be days that you want to pull your hair out or cry for a while. Go with it, it's natural.

gingersarah · 20/05/2009 17:23

thanks trista for a great post - very heartening indeed.

PuzzleRocks · 20/05/2009 17:24

Thanks Looby. I'm so fed up of waiting.
