mine's a cuddlywrap (mom sent it fron canada)
27 meters is an understatement i think!

i've used it a few times. mostly around the house and the post office yesterday! isla seems to like it so far. not sure how she'd be all day but i really don;t want to take the pram to the garden show.

dvd was very helpful. they suggest having a mirror so you can see what you are doing.

Juwesm · 19/05/2009 16:09

Ah, the wrapping vids are on the website - looks really easy! Is it stretchy fabric? Mine is gauze so no stretch in it, so not sure if those ties will work, but I'll have a go later!

I was vaguely intending to try and use the wrap loads and the pram hardly at all. And then we bought a new pram last week!

bronze · 19/05/2009 16:12

Mines a moby.

I had to use the instructions the first few times but now I can tie it in seconds. I haven't used a pushchair yet and I do the schoolrun at least 3 times a day using it as well as at other times. Its been a life saver and Ive had tons of comments from people saying they wish they had had one.

bronze · 19/05/2009 16:14

put the middle on your tummy
cross over round your back and put them forwards over your shoulders so you have an x on your back. Tuck both sides under the middle bit and cross over while doing it.
wrap round your back and tie at the front. Or just tie at the front depending on the excess

bronze · 19/05/2009 16:16

go gooey over big eyes looking up at you

Juwesm · 19/05/2009 16:25

Well, just had a go at the newborn upright one, and seemed to work okay, except for the fact that he is a long leggity beastie, and had a bit of trouble getting them in. Really easy wrap though!

Juwesm · 19/05/2009 16:27

Is the Moby stretchy Bronze? Wondering whether it's worth getting a stretchy one while he's small.

bronze · 19/05/2009 16:29

like these

AuldAlliance · 19/05/2009 16:29

First available date for osteopath appt = 30 June!!!
"He'll be grown up by then," I said...

bronze · 19/05/2009 16:31

no not really
I think I would struggle with stretchy as it would feel loose

noe isaacs legs are longer I have to drop them out the bottom either side

the moby instructions are so clear. I could always scan them as when it comes down to it the wraps are the same really

bronze · 19/05/2009 16:37

he could walk there auld

AuldAlliance · 19/05/2009 16:44

My thoughts exactly, Bronze!

Dim question; are babies meant to wear one layer of clothing more than adults do? I seem to recall this vague rule of thumb... With DS1 it was easy as it was hot and humid, so he wore little. But here I am less sure; it's hot today, about 26° at noon, I think. I am wearing a vest top and trousers.
Alex is wearing a long sleeved "body" (not sure of English for this) and long sleeved sleepsuit. Too hot?

Schulte · 19/05/2009 16:46

Oh I like the Moby wrap. I only have a Babybjorn and H is too young for it really. Can't justify the expense of buying another one though

Schulte · 19/05/2009 16:47

Auld - if it's that hot I'd just have H in a short sleeved body, or equivalent. But yes that's the rule of thumb. Depends on the baby though, mine tend to be quite warm anyway!

Juwesm · 19/05/2009 17:14

Thanks Bronze, have looked at the Moby instructions on the website. Have concluded both Moby and Cuddlywrap are classified as stretchy. Just need to practise getting him in there so that he is not all squooshed up.

AuldAlliance · 19/05/2009 17:16

Schulte,
Thanks. Should have added that it's cool in the house, more like 19° (except our bedroom, where it's over 22° in the day), so I'm worried he will get cold while he naps if he's only lightly dressed. I suppose that's what blankets are for.
