oopsacoconut · 26/05/2009 16:03

Dizzy I like all the gowns too. I took a peak around the website of the Magnolia dress and found this one that would be my top top choice.

I must share a funny story. Remember I purchased the hair remover cream stuff last week. It came with its own applicator sponge. Well I thought it looked like it had been moved....then on Sunday I was SURE it had been moved. Seems DH thought I'd purchased him a new shower sponge. He'd been using it every day since I hung it in the shower (up high, on the outside of the curtain so nobody would use it). When DH found out what he was using we both fell out laughing. Thankfully I'd rinsed it well.

cyteen · 26/05/2009 18:00

LOL TS, I hope he doesn't end up a smooth operator! Reminds me of when me and my brother were little and used to share a bath, we had two sponges - one was just an everyday sponge, the other was the bum sponge. Imagine our hilarity when my dad came in while we were in the bath one night and unwittingly used the bum sponge to wash his face

Sending healing ice cream vibes to miniExpectant and his poor throat

VG meant to say earlier that I am seriously impressed with your dieting The rhubarb and date loaf I made at the weekend has no sugar and very little fat, and was really tasty - Joe loved it too, it's nice and firm so a good BLW type food. Let me know if you want the recipe for a bit of non-sugary pleasure (fnar).

dizzy I am sending astral messages to the panel right now - picture a wild haired woman clutching her skull and muttering (this image also doubles as a handy visual shortcut to 'hungover cyteen').

Where is sambo lately?

The JL highchair would have gone back if it had cost more, but as it was only £35 (and we'd already had to return the first one for having a bit missing) we just couldn't be arsed and junked it when we moved house.

Been for another nursery visit today; DS seemed to enjoy it but also had a panic paddy while I was out of the room. So still feeling a bit wurgh about it all, but on the plus side he stopped crying the second I retrieved him from the nursery worker, which makes me think that he wasn't having a huge existential crisis after all but perhaps just being a 9 month old baby. He's now laying waste to a cream cheese sandwich with no sign of visible harm, so am trying to stay cheery.

dizzydixies · 26/05/2009 18:29

interview went ok, think nerves got a hold of him though as the 10minute presentation lasted 20minutes I didn't DO 20minutes worth of stuff so feck knows what he was yabbering on about supposed to find out on Fri so thank you all for your positive (if a little scary cyteen ) thoughts and keep those fingers crossed until Fri please

off to try to juggle bedtime for DD2 and Dylan inbetween collecting DD1 from Rainbows and meeting the architect at the cafe [pooped emoticon]

Miamla · 26/05/2009 18:37

dizz if you've got some really good photos of the family gown, and if you would happen to know someone who can sew, it might just be possible to have a larger version made for Dylan.... just a thought

TwilightSurfer · 26/05/2009 18:38

Cyteen, if this makes you feel better...I left Reese with the sitter today (is it a child minder if they care for the child in your home?). She's been with her two other times but this was the first "totally without mommy" time and it was for almost four hours. The sitter said she was fine then she'd fuss then she'd be find again then she cry really hard then she'd be fine again then she fell asleep. I think she was just sleepy. She doesn't like to be carried around when all she wants is her bed. LOL! I love my child. When she's tired, just lay her down and ZONK! snore......

Dizzy that doesn't sound all bad. 10 could turn into 20 if someone asked a question or if he thought of something amazing to point out on the fly. I bet all will be PERFECT!

TwilightSurfer · 26/05/2009 18:39

Hmm....do we know anyone who sews?????

Miamla · 26/05/2009 18:39

TS oh my! that could have been very funny indeed!

dizz yay to MrDixies interview and yay to MrsDixies presentation!

cyteen date and rhubarb? sounds interestingly tasty

gah! is that the time... i've got food to prepare... oops!

dizzydixies · 26/05/2009 18:41

thanks TS but I think it was nervous jibbering, it was meant to be a training excercise and it was pointed out that he went over by a considerable length of time, they asked if he'd timed himself doing it - he assured them that he had but he was nervous and would keep it as a consideration for the future

miamla that would be great but tbh the original isn't exactly what I would choose, its the sentiment behind it iyswim? am having photos taken of her in it this week so she'll never know I think I'm just going to go with a wee white summer dress, I just like looking

dizzydixies · 26/05/2009 18:43

lololol at bum sponge

DD2 currently running around in the garden naked from waist down and Dylan has just broken a fall with her face wee soul

off to make everyone all better

TwilightSurfer · 26/05/2009 18:43

yes miamla it could have been VERY funny.

stir fry sounds lovely

evening Seb nice to have you back

AnnVan · 26/05/2009 19:45

Ooh sazzles We're having stir-fry tonight as well.
DP brought me lovely breakfast in bed yesterday morning. was wonderful. Driviing lesson was fab. I even did hill starts. I did stall the car twice though.
Haven't had time to catch up so hope I haven't missed anything important. I have another driving lesson tomorrow - can't wait!!

AnnVan · 26/05/2009 19:47

God it's the battle of the laptop here. I can't keep him away from it. Have now plonked him on the floor with the broken laptop in front of him, but he's trying his best to clamber back onto my lap

if it makes him sound even more macho he's now playing with the diy balloon hovercraft DD1 brought home from Rainbows

he'd kill me if he knew I was grassing him up!!!

oopsacoconut · 26/05/2009 19:54

Ooh it must be stir fry night! We are having a cheats M&S 1234 stirfry.

I had my docs appointment today and have a lump on my thyroid which is causing the hypertyroidism. I need to see an endocrinologist soo. He can't prescribe the beta blockers I need as I am asthmatic so have to keep activity down to a minimum until I see the man. I have been given some other meds to slow down my thyroid but am a little concerned about their effect on DD through BF - they are safe but there is a safer version which I think I will ask for the safer one when I speak to them tomorrow. so more MNing whilst I sit on the sofa waiting for the appointment.

TS - If you hadn't rinsed it properly you would know exactly where he used it!

loling about bum sponge.

cyteen · 26/05/2009 20:39

Oh no, prescribed MNing That's rubbish about your thyroid, although a diagnosis is better than no diagnosis I guess. Are they going to investigate the lump or is it a known type of thing?

We are bucking the stir fry trend chez cyteen by having an oven tea DP is snowed under with work and I have been tackling the washing up mountain, so...

Glad to hear the driving lessons are going well hotter and Ann I really should resume mine but am feeling a bit miserly atm. When I'm back at work I can claim some money towards a learning activity so will perhaps do that; am also thinking I should just put in for my test in our own car and have a stab at it to see how I do. Only problem with that is that DP would brain me if I crashed his beloved Focus

Thanks TS and Sazzles for humouring my PFB panic It is very reassuring for a nervous first time mum. As DP pointed out last night, yes DS will cry sometimes but it won't be a 'bad' cry iyswim - all his needs will be met, he'll be among caring adults and friendly babies, so when he cries it will just be a bit of a wobble, and then he will likely get over it as TS has described.
