summer meet up at rosies?

I have to share with your our afternoon at mass. I will set the scene, I'm sitting there very sad and tearful with Harrison on my lap shortly after the priest sad that mass was being said for my mother. Everyone is praying silently and suddenly Harrison lifts his leg, does an enormous fart followed by an even louder burp and then projectile vomits his milk he'd had shortly before all over my lovely black dress. Tears of saddness turned into smothered giggles then tears of laughter and I know my mum would have been looking down and laughing as it would have reminded her of a time when DS1 was around 4 months old and had just had a particularly disgusting baby spag bol from a jar. My dad then picked him up and started throwing him up and down in the air above his head. My mother and I had shouted a warning but too late and DS1 boffed all over my dad's upturned face. Spag bol was everywhere, running down his beard

rosieposey · 28/05/2009 16:53

Killing myself with laughter here MOS, bless little Harrison for that - think your mum would be having a right laugh, why oh why do they do that when its so quiet? DD2 had a school play two weeks ago all teenagey and angsty and very quiet ... Milo just snored on DH's shoulder so loudly (like father like son) that i had to walk out because DH and i were laughing so much

Glad it went ok though apart from your splattered dress and Harrison's comedy noises - did you manage to write something in the end?

dinkystinky · 28/05/2009 20:42

What was it that was said about never working with kids or animals, MoS??? Bless Harrison for getting the happy memories going for you at such a sad time though.

Rosie - hmm, champagne and strawberries sounds lovely. Great way to use up the last of the champagne left from the wedding.

I love champagne and strawberries...

MOS lol at Harrison

littleboyblue · 29/05/2009 02:32

mos can just see it! Very funny. Sounds like you've got a little man there who knows when he needs to make his mum smile.
Night 3 of ds1 without bars on cot. 1st night he fell out twice, 2nd night he fell once and tonight, I woke up half an hour ago and he was in my bed with a big grin on his face......{grin}

MarkStretch · 29/05/2009 08:13

Morning all.

It's a gorgeous day here and DD has a friend playing. I think I will take the baby out and lounge in the sun all day. Feel quite bad for DH having to go to work!

We are trying to encourage F to sleep in his cot. Last night he did 9pm til 2.30am, then I shuffled over and fed him in his cot without taking him into our bed and he slept until 5am. Then he came in with us- I had to use the other boob so it was a bit tricky to feed him in his cot. I figured we're going to be co-sleeping in the tent at Glastonbury so I'm not too bothered about getting him out just yet... DH has other ideas....

mumoverseas · 29/05/2009 08:18

morning all, nice night out at the British Embassy last night and loads of money raised for charity.
Speaking of champagne, they were auctioning a few bottles there for silly money, most expensive (only Dom) went for SR11,000 which is over £2,000! just a normal bottle and you couldn't even take it home and had to drink it there as obviously illegal.

Was tempted by a signed Lewis Hamilton shirt but managed to sit on my hands and it went for SR15,000, around £3,000!

LBB put the bars back on glad he is doing ok.

bumpsnowjustplump · 29/05/2009 08:47

I can not wait until the kids get over their colds I hope that is what is keeping them up... I am so tired and need some sleep....

Hope you are all well!!

littleboyblue · 29/05/2009 10:44

Morning all. Had a lovely lay in this morning. Dp has taken Luke for his 3rd jab that he didn't get the other day due to short stock and I'm about to dress ds1 and we are going to read some books and do a puzzle, then have some lunch and then we are meeting some people in the park.

littleboyblue · 29/05/2009 17:38

Have we all been out enjoying this lovely weather?
We had a nice afternoon in the park.
The boys were a right misery this morning and dp's asked if they ever leave off the whinging and crying. I said no, then laughed and said at least you can see now why I was findng it all a bit much and today wasn't even a 'bad' day! I then asked if he wanted to swap, I'll go to work and he can stay at home, he said he'd soon have these boys in line. He aid I was stupid because I told him that comment implied that my parenting skills aren't up to scratch. Anyway, no arguing or anything so that's nice, I'm doing really well at thinking before I fly off on one.

MarkStretch · 29/05/2009 19:01

I've got sunburn.

LBB, if your DP finds it hard having the boys maybe he'll appreciate your hard work more now!

mumoverseas · 29/05/2009 19:07

hi, just back from an afternoon at a friends house on another compound which was a good distraction from all the crap at home.

Glad you had a good time LBB and well done ref your self-control. Men are funny like that, so many times DH has said he'd like to be a house husband etc etc but a couple of times recently he has said he doesn't know how I cope with the two of them

MS do you have sun in Norfolk Hope it is not too bad. I'm quite lucky in that I don't burn too bad now, guess my skin is used to the Saudi sun and I guess thats why I'm all shriveled up and look about 60 years old at the proposed London meet up I'll be the fat one that looks like someones grannie

bumpsnowjustplump · 29/05/2009 19:16

MOS you do not look like a grannie I have seen you photo on facebook...

littleboyblue · 29/05/2009 20:01

MS I've got sunburn too on my shoulders from the other day. Really itchy now.
That's what I'm hoping re dp, maybe he'll start to understand how hard it can be especially as there's only one of me all day every day with 2 of them!

This is going to sound awful, but I am really angry with Luke atm. I've been trying to settle him to sleep for the past hour and a half and he's not having any of it. He falls asleep in my arms but the minute I put him down, he starts fidgeting and crying, I even made a nest out of a sheet in the hopes that it'd still feel like he is being held, but that's not helping. I can't do anymore rocking so have left him and am just popping in every few seconds to give his dummy. Gonna have to sit with him again now. End of tether and want to scream!!!!!!!!!

littleboyblue · 29/05/2009 20:23

He's asleep now and I am necking a carlsberg........

PinkTulips · 29/05/2009 20:33

in the last 24 hours i've gotton fast internet, played with fast internet, set up an ebay sellers account, took pics of millions of outgrown girls clothes and put them on ebay, completly changed my style of parenting, dealt with copious amounts of vomit and pee, finally convinced ds1 to poo on the loo, been electrocuted, put together flat pack furniture, corrected damage i did to flat pack furniture during assembly with ingenius usage of watercolour paints, dismantled a pc and cleaned it, done the toddler group thang with 3 wailing piddly little horrors and am now planning onh planting my ass on this chair for the weekend and not moving.

how's everyone else?

littleboyblue · 29/05/2009 20:34

PT Wow. Exhausted just reading it! lol at the flat pack furniture

PinkTulips · 29/05/2009 20:49

stoopid mistake, ds1 was 'helping' and flustered me so i put the top of a sideboard on back to front and then merrily nailed about a million nails through the backboard only to realise i'd just nailed it to the front aand had to get them all out again, leaving the front of it with lots of nail holes and marks from me prising them out with the hammer

looks good now though and my kitchen counters finally have space to actually work on

oh, i registered for my OU course too [eek]

just read through... mos, bless, glad you saw the funny side of H's vom fest

MarkStretch · 29/05/2009 20:59

Wow PT I am impressed! And exhausted reading it too. Glad you got your internet sorted, I know your slow one annoyed you!

Am going over to see my little brother tomorrow and he lives on his own and works as a farmer. He's really hardworking, works long hours and doesn't cook for himself (lives on bowls of cereal) so I have made him some herby meatballs in tomato sauce and a banana and walnut loaf.

And MOS yes! We have lots of lovely sun in Norfolk! And lots of beaches to visit to enjoy it. Although today we just took a picnic to the park and I sat in the shade all day with DS so god knows how I got burnt.

MarkStretch · 29/05/2009 21:01

Erm, how did you electrocute yourself?

dinkystinky · 29/05/2009 21:07

Evening all. Danny has been insomniac baby again - all last night and today - he's currently sleeping but I dont foresee it lasting long, so I sympathise with you re Luke LBB... Prolonged lack of sleep and lack of break from a screaming child has had me in a blue funk about everything today despite the lovely sunshine so am sending huge hugs - and much admiration - out to all those who deal with feeling this way on a daily basis...

Pink - wow, you have been busy! Congrats on the poo down the loo - yahoo!! And whats that about changing your parenting style???

MoS - glad you had a nice time at your friend's place and at the do last night. It always amazes me the prices those charity auction pieces go for - I once went to a do where a £100 pair of shoes went for over £1,000!!

Off to Brighton tomorrow morning to visit MIL with the little ones - fingers crossed Danny finally sleeps and is in a better mood by tomorrow.

bumpsnowjustplump · 29/05/2009 21:08

evening all piece has at last desended in the bump household. both children are asleep although DS went down really early so am expecting him to be up soon.....

PT wow you put me to shame....

spottyshoes · 29/05/2009 21:09

Am slightly brain dead from hospital jargon.

Didn't mention it before but DH has suspected Prostate cancer and that is what the op was investigating. Op went well yesterday but they wont tell us anything until they get the biopsy results in 6 FECKIN WEEKS!!!!! We are a bit worried as the Consultant hinted that things were not as they should be. However if it is the big C then it is likely that it is fairly progressed as he has had ongoing probs for about 18mths! If they failed to diagnose before........ No-one else knows all this, sorry to offload.

Sam didn't cope well with his jabs yesterday either and has been screaming for what seems like ever. Have been major shouty at the boys

Please tell me hormones still play a part 12 weeks on as i'm not doing too brilliantly atm

dinkystinky · 29/05/2009 21:16

Oh Spotty hon - am sending you enormous hugs. I think you're doing an amazing job dealing with your 2 little ones 24-7 on so little sleep and still being chipper so much of the time - you're allowed to be shouty on occasion when sleep deprived and worried about DH. Fingers crossed that all will be ok with the test results. Bloody men's bits - the cause of nothing but trouble . They can do amazing things nowadays in treating prostrate cancer even if it is fairly advanced. I really hope the trip over to France (when are you off?) helps you take your mind off it all.

Markstretch - how did you manage to get sunburnt in the shade???

OP posts:
bumpsnowjustplump · 29/05/2009 21:31

SS so sorry to hear this sending you lots of love and hugs...
