Essie, you should have put the thing about hitting him - dare you! (suggest you name change first though!)

Amber, I know nothing about hypothyroidism but is it something you just develop? I only ask cos you obviously had no problem conceiving Luke, so is this something you've developed since? Btw, FWIW I think that charting your temperature is a waste of time and can make you very obsessive, but that's JMO and obviously it's up to you! Frequent sex around your fertile time is all we were advised (before we found out that was a waste of time of course! ).

Are you being looked after by a specialist? Has s/he advised you about fertility, etc?

Right better go and be socialable - and get ready for work tomorrow .

bitofadramaqueen · 02/06/2009 20:12

Evening all, just been catching up on the posts but no time for major post. Thanks for pop up pool recommendation sponge (sorry, bill!).

Also I know nothing about sleep apnea, but funnily enough two people in my work are certently being treated for it. One person has just had an op, and someone else has a bit thing they put in their mouth at night. You can also get a mask. Don't know if any of these treatments suitable for children obviously.

Anyway I really need to crack on. Wave to everyone else and will try and pop in for a proper blether soon!

AliandHerScallywag · 03/06/2009 09:35

Morning all.

Bill I have emailed your will writing man

Essie who would have thought that Iestyn would have a number of aliases? If it is any consolation I was a bit when it turned out that Baby P was a Peter. It probably ensures that Peter will continue to have a ridiculously unpopular name for the next year or two. Not sure whether this is a good thing or not. I remember after Madeleine McCann disappeared thinking that "Maddie" must have taken a hammering in the popular name stakes that year.

Systems good luck with the viewings.

Whinegums you sound scary

Amber gosh sympathies on the thyroid probs and the sleep apnea. You must be due some very good luck really soon.

Amberc · 03/06/2009 11:47

Thanks for all the advice on sleep apnea and thyroids! Got another one for you...

What can I do about extreme early waking? Luke is now waking at 4.15ish and staying awake for the day. I have tried leaving him and he amuses himself for about 20 mins and then cries (I ahve tried leaving him for this too and it just gets worse). I have also tried putting a water beaker in his bed incase he was thirsty. he did drink some this morning but then used the beaker as a hammer to bang against the wall. I have also tried lying him down and walking away. I think it might be because he is trying to walk and I know weird things happen to sleep when they reach a milestone (always to me unfortunately. Any ideas? Gonna post on sleep too.

DebInAustria · 03/06/2009 12:45

Just a quickie to say I'm back from hols, lovely place but not Ethan friendly, boys loved it though. Be back later when the washing pile's smaller.

ktpie · 03/06/2009 14:27

Hello,
Don't know if any of you will remember me but I used to post ages and ages ago. Recognise a few of the names on here, hope you are all getting on allright and having fun with your nearly one year olds, there must be loads of birthdays coming up!

Been tempted back to MN by the shocking news that I had a positive pregnancy test this morning! We had been intending to have another at some point but hadn't thought it would be so soon.
Already feeling queasy all the time and not really looking forward to all the lovely pregnancy symptoms.

I really appreciated chatting to you lot throughout the pregnancy and the early days and feel a bit sad that I drifted off and lost touch, seemed to always get dragged away from the computer before I had caught up with the posts, let alone written any of my own!

Rolf · 03/06/2009 15:00

wow ktpie, that's lovely news. Congratulations.

I have found out today that a v nice lady, who I met on an ante natal thread when expecting DD1, is unexpectedly pregnant and just found out that it's twins. So her DC4 will be DC4 & 5.

DebInAustria · 03/06/2009 15:11

Hi Ktpie - of course we remember you and so glad you came back to tell us your great news. Congratulations. I have 23 months between my eldest 2 and they are great friends.

Rolf at dc4 and 5 - stories like that keep me from ever getting that broody

poppy34 · 03/06/2009 18:09

Hi ktpie and congrats. Amber no advice but sympathy- do agree that walking/ crawling sends them whacko. Deb how is washing pile- am glad break was good.
Right need to offload so apologies to anyone I have missed- dh has big birthday today so friend arranged drinks at work for him at lunch. So far so dull - except I also work there but wasn't invited - which would be fine but it's not just old friends but various randoms including one or two who have really been a pain to me personally - plenty of folks who should be there weren't ( not just me but both current and previous sec of dh ). Dh still out as I feel like a fool as bought loads of treats as he said he was going to be home for rugby. Aibu to feel pissed off / hurt/ like Piss been taken? It's not exclusively at dh as he didn't know re invites and is entitled to do some celebrating but why on his birthday, with certain people who have really not been good to me
Sigh I know I am being a cow but I do feel sad that e and me home alone on his birthday

bitofadramaqueen · 03/06/2009 18:51

Hi all

Deb sorry holiday wasn't ethan friendly but hope you managed to have a good time.

Amber, S went through a period of early morning waking. Eventually we just started bringing him into bed with us when he woke up and he would quickly fall back asleep. It eventually passed and he went back to sleeping in his cot all night. Well until last weekend anyway, he's really struggling with the heat!

Congratulations ktpie! Great news and nice to see you back.

Poppy, that sucks. Is it possible that you didn't get a specific invite because they assumed you would be there anyway?

DebInAustria · 03/06/2009 19:46

Poppy -so sorry to hear about your day. I think I'd have been p'd off not to get an invite, admittedly it's not your dh's fault but I really hope he's home soon to enjoy his Birthday treats, otherwise eat/drink them yourself.

DebInAustria · 03/06/2009 19:51

BDQ - we still managed to have a good time and hearing the boys on the phone to Grandma, they apparently had the best holiday ever

poppy34 · 03/06/2009 19:54

Aw that is so cute deb. No accident bdq as host rang me to check dates etc. But dh on way home( and I have opened the good red ) so am feeling more chilled.
Sponge how was today?

bitofadramaqueen · 03/06/2009 20:10

Glad he's on the way home poppy - enjoy the red!

Deb, that's so cute.

I'm feeling a bit constantly amazed by the cuteness of S today. He's just pulling the best funny faces, and was adorable earlier playing peekaboo (not prompted by me) with a face covered in banana.

poppy34 · 03/06/2009 20:23

I know they are so cute- edie trying to sing and chat . Also has imperious way of pointing at what she wants

spongebrainmaternitypants · 03/06/2009 20:24

Hi all, just a quick one cos I'm knackered!

ktpie, many congrats - how many weeks are you? I'm about 19 now, due on Oct 31st .

poppy, good to hear dh is on his way home .

Rolf, I'm secretly hoping for twins if I get pg a third time - that's what happened to my mum! Then I get the 4 kids I've always wanted .

spongebrainmaternitypants · 03/06/2009 20:25

Oh, and work was fine thanks - although counting down the days til Sept!

bitofadramaqueen · 03/06/2009 20:44

Ah yes, the pointing! Whenever I ask S if he wants pudding or a banana he points in the direction of where they are kept. Sometimes I don't need to mention them, he just swats away his spoon and points excitedly anyway.

Glad your day was ok bill.

ktpie · 03/06/2009 21:31

Thanks everyone! Mentioned the possibility of twins to DH and he said we can't have twins as we'd need a new vehicle!

Poppy - how rude ringing to check with you about the date then not inviting you! Glad he is on his way home.

Deb - sounds like the boys enjoyed the holiday, where did you go?

BDQ - they are really cute at this age, J pointed out the cheese amongst everything on the table the other day and shouted until I gave him some!

Sponge - Congratulations to you too! I'm only 5 weeks so early days yet (trying not to get too excited). I bet you can't wait to finish work. I handed in my notice last week and am now thinking I could have worked another 6 months then been off on maternity leave again!

josey · 03/06/2009 23:10

Josey sheepishly creeps in and admits she has been avoiding you all.

I dont think Im going to handle tomorrow very well and thought if I didnt think about it and didnt come on here I would be ok. Who the FK was I kidding.

ANyway big apologies and happy birthdays to those of you that I missed xxx

AliandHerScallywag · 03/06/2009 23:11

ktpie congratulations and good luck. Do stay and keep us posted if you have time.

Poppy hope your evening has improved. YANBU.

Deb In what way was the holiday not Ethan friendly? Is he bruised? Leyburn was v briefly on the One Show tonight. They did a piece on the Wensleydale Railway.

DebInAustria · 04/06/2009 06:59

Morning all

Josey, what's happening today? I hope it goes OK.Love your recent photos on FB

Ktpie, we just went 2 hours away, North of Salzburg, to a small farm.

Ali - yes he's bruised! Too many accessible steps within the apartment.

abdnhiker · 04/06/2009 08:02

Today is Olivia's Birthday - Josey I know it's been a tough year but tons of hugs to you and to Oli. xxx

ktpie congrats! I have a 23 month gap between my two and it's brilliant.

poppy hope you had a good evening with your DH and yes, you had a right to be upset! And telling us is perfect (I'd let it stew and then burst out at DH when it wasn't is fault - I'm not very sensible sometimes).

I just realized yesterday that my painter is actually extremely good looking. He's been working at our house for three weeks now and before this I swear I've just seen him as a white overalled obstacle that made my life difficult. I've my kitchen back to normal though so I'm coping better. I'm sure we've put him off kids for years as DS1 has been very whiney lately.

abdnhiker · 04/06/2009 08:03

oh and whinegums your offer to help with the phoning made me laugh. I was so pathetic that I really could have used some help!

poppy34 · 04/06/2009 08:46

Josey hope today is bearable for you and much love to Oli xxx
