I can't keep up, you've been busy chatting while I've been busy lunching! I'm also unhappy with my body and agree with Jenwa that I should have appreciated it before. I've had a proper (cooked meal- not sarnie) lunch today at my friends and am about to go to the chippy for dinner as I can't be bothered to cook. I go through phases of being really disciplined and then days like today of totally piggy behaviour

Was chatting to a mum at babygroup yesterday, her baby is 3 months. She mentioned not being able to loose the baby weight so I said "oh don't worry my ds is 6 months and I still wear some of my maternity jeans". She looked at me with horror

Aubergenie- well done for the choking incident- your post spurred me on to look at how to stop a baby choking on babycentre as I realised I kind of knew but didn't really. Also ds got a bit bold with food today and shoved his steamed carrot right down his throat- made him sick and me panic a bit.

star actaully sounds quite tasty, did you taste it? Do you give him 3 meals a day now? That will help fill him and do you mean you just want to BF am and pm?

mm get you and your exercise! I was never like that, lucky I was always slim and ate what I wanted. Just not ..oh god I cant think of the word when you are toned and your muscles are all tight and in proportion,! Keep wanting to say formed! I know its not that!!! So when you say re - met DH whats that all about? LOL re your own workout though!!! hehe, stops after kids though

jenwa · 07/05/2009 20:39

definition is the word I wanted

Marthasmama · 07/05/2009 20:43

Thanks Myjob. Indeed CSWS, DH will also be back so we can learn together. I am visiting Myjob in just under three months!! So if I still haven't got the hang of real nappies I can get the expert to give a demonstration!

Rachie - I still wear some of my maternity jeans and got told off by the dr. She then massively back peddled and said that she only lost her baby weight in the last three months before returning to work. My belly is huge but then I have an enormous ovarian cyst which needs removing!

Marthasmama · 07/05/2009 20:46

Ah, I have mentioned before. DH and I went to school together and went out when we were 14 for about a month. We lost touch after 6th form and randomly bumped into each other in a pub when we were 25. Discovered that we worked five mins walk from each other in London and had been getting the same train every morning for a year. SO we met up back in a local pub, I stayed at his [hussy emoticon] and we have been together ever since....

jenwa · 07/05/2009 20:50

csws - AK pasta was given to me I'll be buying your suggestion going forward as I'm "thrifty"

jenwa - I want to feed him purees 3X/day, bf morning when he wakes and then before I go to work, I can bf him at lunch 3 days/week (and on weekends of course) and then again at 3.45pm and again at bedtime feed. I'd like him to take more expressed breast milk from a bottle during the day so that he'll need less through the night. Maybe just the one feed at 10/11 and then sleep through until 6 without needing another feed (like he used to ).

Feeding 3X a day now, but only offered lentils a few times. It's mostly just fruit and veg. I think he needs some bulk to his food as well. Oh, and fromage frais. he's a fromage frais feind!

Q has been exposed to chicken pox.
sort of hoping he gets them so he can "get it over with" for his life and as a baby should be a light case, right??

star6 · 07/05/2009 21:09

oh and yes, I tasted that puree!! It was delicious!

jenwa · 07/05/2009 21:10

Phoebe loves fromage frais too .
Sounds like a good plan though, shame he wont take it in the day, did he used to? To be honest Phoebe not taking much of her bottles, I know she is FF but I think she is filing up on food now so not so interested. She has a bottle after breakfast/ mid morn, one in the afternoon and one for bed. Maybe he is taking just what he wants, frustrating though that he is not getting full enough for the night. Could you try a bottle of expressed at night to see how much he does take from that to give you an idea of how much he may be taking when he bf? I def think more bulk in his meals may help fill him up, carbs are what the HV suggested to me, potatoes, chips, toast, bread snacks etc.

CantSleepWontSleep · 07/05/2009 21:17

jenwa - a baby will take a diff amount from a bottle (whether formula or ebm) than he will from the breast, so that wouldn't actually help star I'm afraid.

Will check out your song in a min jenwa, but glad that you have found something appropriate.

I'd like Floyd's Wish You Were Here at my funeral, in part because I love it so much, and in part because it appeals to my sense of humour to say 'wish you were here' when I'm dead and in a coffin!

Q exposed at what stage of CP star?

Marthasmama · 07/05/2009 21:25

I want P J Harvey's version of 'Is that All There Is?' I love PJHarvey. I also want this. Fabulous.

heather1980 · 07/05/2009 21:27

alex loves bread sticks, i get the mini ones that are about 4inches rather than the really long ones so he doesn't poke his eye out.

george is back tonight!!!! swoon.

RachieW · 07/05/2009 21:32

MM- sorry to hear about your cyst. Your GP sounds so supportive . I don't think I'll lose my weight until I go back to work- at that point I won't have time to eat.

Jenwa- it's a lovely song. I really hope the funeral goes as well as it can.

Marthasmama · 07/05/2009 21:38

Right I'm off to bed and nobody can stop me. Unless I get side tracked.... Where's hmm? She only seems to come on here in the evening just I go to bed. I must smell.

Honeymoonmummy · 07/05/2009 21:47

Helloooo smelly!

csws how do you know that though as surely you never really know how much they take from the breast? That is not a sarcastic reply just wonder why they take different amount from bottle than breast, only as Q does have bottle in the day from stars friend so is used to it. Is it to do with the way it comes out from bottle rather than breast? Sorry for being dumb

Will check out all your funeral songs tomorrow , I am tired now and getting sad as been thinking about gran,so off to bed I think.

aubergenie · 07/05/2009 21:54

jrsqueak - You can definitely make rice pudding from oat milk and coconut milk but not yoghurt as far as I know. But, I know you CAN make yoghurt from cashew nut milk. I've never tried it myself, but I googled it and found this. It sounds pretty easy.

If you do make it, I'd love to know how you get on.

You can also make a cream subsitute from cashew nuts, which is quite nice: here

Also, you can make a kind of ice cream type thing from coconut milk. I've got a recipe somewhere. If you're interested I can dig it out for you.

Ekka - I like the pirate stuff! In fact, you've just reminded me that I've ordered a pirate design cosy-toes for my Bee (custom made and half the price of the real Bugaboo one). So maybe I won't get the skull carrier as well. Hmmmmmm. Can't decide.

Jenwa - i'm glad you've found a song you like for your Gran's funeral.

I must go to bed. Make me go to bed someone, please.
