sazzles I have shouted at dd lots today, was so stressful being in the house while dh was upstairs trying to sleep after nights. I had to stay in to wait for dog to come back from groomers. (which dh booked)
So I shouted at her out of frustration rather than her being actualy naughty iywkim.

Not sure why ds refusing bf, he had the smallest bf at bed time tonight.
Yesterday he had 1 oz
Rash nearly gone though

oopsacoconut · 05/05/2009 20:26

I am a football widow

I am with everone on the waking babies thing - what happened to my 1 wake up at 5 for a feed then back to sleep? She wants to feed sucks twice, sleeps, wakes 30mins later same thing repeat ad infinitum! She is feeding in the morning before we get up, at about 11 before her nap, at 4pmish, bedtime then supposedly once in the night! and 3 meals, we have resorted to some spoon feeding with dinner but it makes no difference what so ever.

With those refusing BF - could they have sore teeth/mouths, 9/10 months is an age known for it's nursing strikes.

Sazzles - have you topped up the wine yet?

No1 - I get frustrated with DD when we have to be in - I can't imagine it with a 2 year old to amuse too.

back in a bit I smell burning

poppysocks · 05/05/2009 20:28

Evening all. Caught up and can't remember anything... Except, now very belated, Happy Birthday Dizzy. I can't believe I missed that one! DD1 so looking forward to seeing L tomorrow. Really hoping the rain holds off. What do you think the chances are?

Sorry to hear about the grumpy days No1 and sazzles. Same here. Had a lovely, relaxing weekend, entirely ruined by DH's relentless snoring last night .

DD2 a bit crap on the sleep front too atm, but more with early mornings. Nothing like others here, but it's not the light I think (black-out blind in place miamla ) and she really can't be hungry as is taking food and milk ok (although not much of the bf now, as previously discussed). Just seems to be starving come 6am no matter how much I shovel into her.

Not sure whether it's connected or not, but DD2 is just so whiney at the moment. Driving us all nuts. She's usually such a relaxed, sunny baby, but the last week or so has been awful. A tooth finally came through yesterday but no let-up so who knows what it is. Just hoping it's not the start of a whole new phase....

Sorry, moan, moan, moan. One of those days here and lots of snapping at the girls too. . Sorry you had a difficult day too TS. Hope it picks up now that the hard stuff is over.

poppysocks · 05/05/2009 20:30

Sorry to miss you FIL's 15 minutes oops. Was he pleased with it?

Glad the wedding was fab cyteen.

dizzydixies · 05/05/2009 20:39

no1 snappy day here too - I made DD2 leave toddlers after only half an hour because I wasn't for dealing with it at all. Too tired after bad night and frankly hate the toddler group here as they're really cliquey

poppy not to worry, I hadn't advertised it I told DD2 tonight she was coming to yours tomorrow in your car and she turned and said' thats right mummy, you stay here' wee madam! Dylan getting up religiously at 6am too although she had a shouty moment at 4am today

am watching Gok anyone else wanting to own up to that guilty pleasure and if so please PLEASE tell me that you think Cilla black is coming across as a complete arse too?

TwilightSurfer · 05/05/2009 20:48

it's so lovely to be part of a group of like individuals. here's to crap days all around >>clink

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 05/05/2009 20:51

Hi sorry not been around much since being in blighty. Have had a lovely time which is making me feel a little homesick already. The Christening went well and DS was great. He wanted to get into the font though - think he's missing the swimming pool

Good news on the swine flu too as when we get back I have to work at home for 10 days as there has been human to human infection here! Such a shame....

Will try to catch up more later...

dizzydixies · 05/05/2009 21:06

should be names more aptly the 'august mummy saves another's sanity mini meet'

took DD2 to the hairdressers today and she actually didn't stab the woman in the throat with the scissors she had a face like fizz but its done DH safely on his course getting things thrown at him - please read in the pub after their carvery dinner fannying about pretending to be working

should be doing a job application or some work towards the cafe but toooooooooo tired

pertelote · 05/05/2009 21:17

TS hope you got some rest and that your week gets better from here...

Miamla you are too kind! I was so glad you could come and represent

Dizzy sorry we didn't realise it was your birthday! Can I retrospectively nominate one of the glasses of fizz I drank as a birthday toast? Many happy returns, anyway.

This talk of blackout blinds has got me thinking - we have linings in our room at home but no idea what we'll find in the cottage next week. Wonder if I can get one of those travelling ones in time. Current wake-up is around 6 which is as early as I can cope with I think...

oopsacoconut · 05/05/2009 21:37

Pertelote - I got ours from Amazon and dh paid extra for quick delivery.

dizzydixies · 05/05/2009 21:58

Dh has just sent a text to say he's in a taxi home better fecking not be as his course is about 2hrs away you see what happens when he's allowed out on his own

pertelote thank you, am just delighted you had a lovely day

right ladies I'm off, I've ignored a pending job application I was meant to be doing/ ignored cafe stuff and not been hidying prior to Poppy inspecting coming tomorrow so I'm off to bed in the hope of a good night sleep and start again in the morning

poppysocks · 05/05/2009 22:09

LOL Dizzy. You've been to my house so you know that any hidying will only embarrass me more. Off to bed too. Aim to be asleep before DH starts snoring again [anticipatory ].

TwilightSurfer · 05/05/2009 23:37

Expectant that's great you get to work from home. Sorry for the reason though.

Dizzy why would he take a taxi 2hrs is he DRUNK?

Napped a little while Reese napped and DD1 watched tv. DH home now with the girls. I should be sorting out dinner......

The sun is out. PLEASE let it stay that way. We need to dry out around here.

I take DD1 to register for KINDERGARTEN tomorrow morning.

Sibh · 05/05/2009 23:52

Happy birthday dizzy (a bit late I'm afraid)

No sleep here and another grizzly 2yr-old for the roster, which is why I've been missing.

It's my last day of teaching tomorrow so that will be one thing off the list of things to sort in the week.

I need to sleep now though so a quick hello to everyone and a fresh start tomorrow as dizzy says.

sambo303 · 06/05/2009 08:28

morning all

Just popping quickly on as with dp off work mn time is sadly limited. Also, we had visitors over the weekend including a very high maintenance baby, made me appreciate ds all the more. Hope all are well, ds slept 11.45pm to 6.15am last night. Hooray. Hoping to get a chance to catch up soon...

Steaknife · 06/05/2009 08:31

Bonjour - porridge and maple syrup cooling on the windowsill.

Ah blackout blinds - I tried to order those baa baaones but the t'interweb timed out. One of my fave ebay sellers has blackout lining for 3 quid a meter and I was thinking of doing roman blinds (the flat ones that fold up) with the yellow stripey fabric.
Being tres frenchy we have external shutters which I keep shut but quite abit of light comes in from around the sides.
I need to get something sorted to see if it helps with the daytime naps. If I don't get her down just right then she wakes up from fast asleep.
Been trying the same routine as nighttime for the last week and feel so bad letting her cry.

But the nighttime routine has worked a treat - I am sure partly because dh and I are no longer arguing and we are being consistent.
Only one wake up a night if any and she goes off back to sleep by herself after her feed.

now I just need to pursuade DH that putting her down at 8pm is too late, especially as she wakes between 6 and 7.30.

That is going to be one long battle and I am sure she would nap better in the day if she slept just a little bit longer at night.

Dizzy happy belated birthday.

TS bah to meh days hope you have some cheerful ones for the rest of the week.

I've had quite a nice week so far - I swapped numbers with a nice lady at M&T group so that should get me out and about a bit. I also got some nice things for Izzy in the sales here (Seems like there is a sale about every week at the moment) but she really really needed them and they are super cute. yay for shopping.

I'm also trying to sew her some stuff as I have loads of baby fabric my mum has sent. I am mulling over trying smocking.

Miamla am also mulling over a Miamla tie - will fb you though.

Think thats it, looking forward to our visit next week.

thanks all

thoughts please for the lovely poppy who is now in the hands of DD2 [meep] that would be DD2 who managed to wipe out Poppy's poor DD1 before they'd even left thee house

bloke here to fix height of tv - not sure whether or not to question him re the additional £75 on his bill will wait till work done and see how I feel

Dylan awake so was about to sit and feed her but now she's too interested in bloke etc - shall have to think of something else to do instead - its not like I'm lacking in jobs to be getting on with

oopsacoconut · 06/05/2009 16:33

it is very quiet on here!

We had a CRAP* night of the highest order here! she even managed to wake DH he needed a bit of a lie in this morning as he woke when she did at 1 and 3, I didn't ask what he thought of the other 4 times she woke?? I managed a 20min nap this morning whilst DD napped and then headed off to Baby cafe for some RL support to discover it must ne a 8/9 month thing as all the others DD's age are doing exactly the same.

DD now sleeping like a log I was trying to too but DH phoned to ask if I had managed to nap since lunch

Dizzy - did you question the TV man?

Hi VG

Hi Steaky

Miamla · 06/05/2009 17:00

hi all
last night contained not an ounce of sleep but hey, life goes on! DP gave up and slept in the spare room and the poor sausage needed a nap this afternoon to catch up whilst i was doing the supermarket shop with DS

i just sold our greenhouse for £80!!! madness! the buyer lives 100 miles from us Hey ho, her problem not mine!

oh and stop the press...

DS took his first step this morning... and i missed it
DP called me down but he hasn't done another since!

Right, there are fresh doughnuts here and they need to be eaten
oh and given that the only record of DS's development is on here (i'm going to have to search through all my posts to fill in his baby book!), his fifth tooth is breaking through (top, 2nd right from middle)

hmmm doughnuts

Miamla · 06/05/2009 17:01

steaky cool!
