x-post No1 - Hi

Buckets - yay for the tooth, I hope all the rest are as easy.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 10/05/2009 18:18

lol at *miamla and violin. I always think of Eddie Izzard when i think of violin.
ts i think its great when children show interest in music.
I have had a few hours on the guitar this morning, however when dd came back from walk with dh i had to change my repertoire to nursery rhymes.
go buckets recording, thats great. i lulled ds to sleep listening to my cd earlier. [vain emoticon]not sure if that was a compliment or he was bored to tears
sibh i have stored some contacts re the choir too, put not plucked up courage yet.
albs that feast sounded fab, how strange the child never had pasta.
oh and yeah for tooth kurt.

ds is now standing at every opportunity, and occasionally letting go, but not ready for that yet

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 10/05/2009 18:24

oopsacoconut · 10/05/2009 18:38

I would like to state for the record - my feet are only a size 5!

I can offer brownies, chocolate cupcakes they are for our Breatfeeding Awareness Week tea party at the BF cafe but I'm sure they won't mind me sharing.

DS1 has stolen a packet of olive green dye and a pack of pencil sharpeners before - whilst strapped in the pushchair! I didn't return them as I was too embarrassed (but didn't let him keep them of course.)

Got me mooncup in today ladies, tis the only thing that holds in the heaviest crimson tide. Thoroughly recommend them.

I used one for first time last month sazzles after leaking through all y clothes.
best thing I ever done, was a bit strange awkward at first. Now I cant understand how I have managed without one. Give it a go.

poppysocks · 10/05/2009 21:10

Hello laydeez! Long time, no see.

How are you today Dizzy? When do ILs and best friend leave? Lots of happy thoughts coming your way.

Glad you had a great night away sazzles (and just a little ).

Hooray for Kurt's problem-free tooth buckets. DD1 was exactly the same. Nothing for ages and then they just seemed to slip through. DD2, sadly, not the same. The whinging has now stopped now and has been excused by the appearance of a third tooth in ten days . Lovely baby back now. [phew] and .

How are things now with DH No1? Hope all sorted now and DCs feel better soon.

Sorry to hear about the rubbish sleep recently Oops and miamla. Hope things continue to improve.

Great to hear miditwilight is loving the reading so much. Can only be a good thing. Hope the same can be said of her violin playing (for the next ten years anyway) .

LoveBuckets · 10/05/2009 21:17

Ok, mooncups...

Pros: They hold more gunk, they are more hygienic as they are non-porous and leave no fibres so you can be a lazy slattern like me without worrying about toxic shock syndrome. You can wear them swimming and not have to faff about afterwards. You don't have to buy tampons again. No more icky to use than Lilets and let's face it we're all a bit less squeamish / more familiar with our bits than we were pre-babies. Nothing ends up floating at sea and no packaging in the landfill.

Cons: Takes a little bit of practice inserting but by the 2nd or 3rd cycle you'll be an expert. Not so discreet because you want to go round shouting "I'm wearing my MOOOOOONCUUUUP!!!" (see my post below) And your DH will be horrified for a few months until the shock/novelty wears off.

poppysocks · 10/05/2009 21:19

I'm afraid I'm inexplicably eek at the thought of the mooncup. Periods have been hideously heavy since DD2 though but hoping they sort themselves out as they did after a while last time.

Only a week until our hols. Hooray! Just need to keep all fingers and toes crossed for decent weather for our time in the tent...

What are the current thoughts on a 26th meet-up? We won't be west country by then, but will still be round the corner, relatively speaking, so should be able to make it.....

LoveBuckets · 10/05/2009 21:21

And if you don't get on with the mooncup someone on here will probably bung you a tenner for it to try themselves! Basically you sterilise it (with baby bottles, in the dishwasher, boil it in water etc) at the beginning of each cycle - which is more than you can say about men's bits.

oopsacoconut · 10/05/2009 21:24

I was just hgoing to ask about the meet up Poppy I think there was a general plan for the 26th at Cabot Circus but then I think it was Buckets mentioned, movers and trying to keep them contained but there was no other place suggested so it's a bit in the air for destination. There is a Giraffe in Cabot Circus so that may be a go-er. Will go and do some more research. Unless anyone fancies Bath instead

Bristol probably better for me (although have no in depth knowledge of the place for practical stuff like parking etc.), as if I can make it it is likely that we'll combine the trip with a visit to DD1's godmother who lives in Bristol. She has a 3 week old, so she (he ) definitely requires a visit.

Yes, it is half term then most places like that will be chaos!

oopsacoconut · 10/05/2009 21:57

new thread titles anyone?

LoveBuckets · 10/05/2009 22:08

Let's be optimistic shal we?
'Aug08 ladies get their groove back'

LoveBuckets · 10/05/2009 22:19

Think I'm going to have to duck out of the meetup I'm afraid, too many stress-inducing variables in half term week. But if anyone's in Bristol on 27th June, come see me sing. I'll be the one with 700 people singing next to me. And I'll be childfree so can help wrangle other people's.
