and forgot to say to all you FBGs.... you aint got nothing on pertelote!

TwilightSurfer · 04/05/2009 22:02

Well Reese pulled a DD1 this afternoon. As soon as I started talking to the appraisers office on the phone about tomorrow morning's appraisal Reese started wailing. I put in her in two different playyards, changed her, fed her (twice), switched out dummies, gave her a half dozen different toys....NOTHING. BUT take her out the playyard and put her on the floor....crying stopped. Due to the extremely short amount of time I have to pull stray hairs together I needed her to be in the playyard, safely playing. I moved her back and forth between playyard and floor five or six times then just said CRAP and let her cry while I finished the kitchen. She went down for nap without issue following the second feeding. GEEZZ!!!! I'm only on here whilst I shovel chips and salsa in so I can run clean/hide more without fainting. Lady at the appraiser's office said don't worry about cleaning up. RIGHT? I want the best $$ for my house...the dude coming tomorrow is the OWNER of the appraiser business...I doubt he'd be very cheery if he had to stumble over toys and laundry not to mention sneeze for dust. I'll clean!

Lordy that's enough must run.......

DS tries to do that with me! but, there's a crafty way to tell whether they're asleep and still sucking or not. hmm, need to rack my brain now for exactly what it is but its to do with their breathing and the sucking. I think its something like if they're asleep they'll do two sucks and then there's a pause for 2 breaths and then they'll do two more sucks. I seem to be able to instinctually catch DS early now so i haven't had to count in a while. perhaps someone else will be able to translate what i'm trying to explain!

our cunning plan with when to put DS to bed is exactly 12 hours after he's woken up. Seems to have worked a treat the last few nights. He goes down nicely and only cries for me every 1.5hrs or so. This is a HUGE improvement to him going to bed nearer midnight

dizzydixies · 04/05/2009 22:05

miamla thank you for checking in with your report about pertelote's stairs/cakes

pertelote you've passed your assessment and you may stay

Miamla · 04/05/2009 22:06

hi TS don't run yourself ragged and look forward to seeing you back here with a bit more time soon

Miamla · 04/05/2009 22:09

lol re assessment! I was teasing Pertelote earlier that i was going home to do a written report!

Ooh, I must say, she looked stunning today! She was wearing the skirt that we helped her choose and had a gorgeous ring sling on

hotterpotter · 04/05/2009 22:09

Glad you had a good time at Marianne's party Miamla and pleased to hear you and DS are making some progress on the sleep front. I think you said he's in his own room, is it really dark in there? The only reason I ask is because my DS's sleep has been transformed for the better since he went in his own room and I'm convinced that it's because it's pitch black in there.

dizzydixies · 04/05/2009 22:11

oh lordy, poppy coming here to collect DD2 and take her for a playday on Wed - I'm NEVER going to pass the assessment

Miamla · 04/05/2009 22:13

hi hotpot
yup, he's in his own room but quite embarrassingly he hasn't got any curtains at all! Anyone would think that there was no one in this house who could sew Although to be fair, DP just as capable as me and he hasn't made him any either!
So in answer to your question, its actually alot lighter in his room especially with the street light outside his window. Whereas we've got blackout lined curtains in our room

Miamla · 04/05/2009 22:14

lol dizz, i'm sure you'll think of something. Ooh i know...bribe her with cake!

Miamla · 04/05/2009 22:15

at this rate you lot are going to start hoping DS is awake more in the evenings otherwise we're going to get through a thread every week!

Miamla · 04/05/2009 22:15

hee hee, can i get four in a row? its like playing connect four!

Miamla · 04/05/2009 22:16

oh yeah!
tis ok, i'll stop being so silly now

Miamla · 04/05/2009 22:16

perhaps just one more! lol!

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 04/05/2009 22:18

miamla that makes sense tbh.
lol at no curtains, I sewed blackout lining in but still chinks of light.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 04/05/2009 22:19

ooh xpost miamla makes a change

ts you sound stressed. Hope you got the neighbour to shift the rust bucket btw.

dizzydixies · 04/05/2009 22:20

bed for me now that I'm officially old - night all fingers crossed for a good one all round

hotterpotter · 04/05/2009 22:23

I tried sewing it on too No1 in my room when DD was tiny, but it was a nightmare with an 8ft wide bay, the light poured through the top, bottom, sides... I ended up with socks tucked all along the top of the curtains in an attempt to keep it dark - think we had the curtains closed for 3 months DS has a normal sized window and I've taped the blackout lining to the window frame. Can't open the window but it's proper dark and so far seems to be working. He has even been having 90-minute naps during the day in his cot

hotterpotter · 04/05/2009 22:32

Dizzy you are not old, you are even younger than my baby sister . When I was your age blah blah blah^...(said in old gimmer voice )

I sadly am feeling my age and am very tired tonight so am off to bed. Here's hoping DS doesn't make a liar of me re the good sleeping

Nighty-night

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 04/05/2009 22:37

Night All

oopsacoconut · 04/05/2009 22:46

Hope I'm not too late to say HAPPY* BIRTHDAY* DIZZY I was going to offer you some cake but it seems you already have some.

Miamla - have you seen the baabaa blind? basically blackout fabric with eyelets and suckers that fit into the eyelets and then it sticks to the window frame maybe you can steal borrow the idea?

Sazzles - you and the girls all looked stunning - Dh loves your girls eyes!

Hi No1

DD is moving to her own room this week I think. She smiled today and I caught sight of a top tooth so that explains the 4 wake ups last night.

Cavey - are you there?? All I can see is boxes do you have Cyteen in there amongst all those boxes.

TS - breathe deeply -close your eyes, in through the nose out through the mouth, repeat.

oopsacoconut · 04/05/2009 22:46

night No1

Miamla · 04/05/2009 22:56

i should really be off to bed soon as well. I can hear DP banging around upstairs though (he has been sorting his crap treasured belongings out tonight) so think i'll leave it a few more minutes

hmm, thanks for the info oops

Miamla · 04/05/2009 23:04

forgot to tell you all about my greenhouse! Its pretty old with two broken panes. DP and I decided that we'd rather use that bit of our small garden for a nice seating area so i was just going to stick it on freecycle but... then i figured i had nothing to lose by trying to ebay it..well... £48 later and they're still bidding!! i'm amazed! i was excited when they got to £5! I'm also a bit confused though because none of the people bidding on it live anywhere near me. closest bidder is 100 odd miles away
Are greenhouses really that expensive to justify driving miles for a second-hand one?

TwilightSurfer · 05/05/2009 02:26

hi
