Evening all

Been to Bath today to meet friends and Godson for a picnic it was lovely and sunny. Small boy tried to kiss DD and she pulled his hair and then tried to pick his nose - he was NOT impressed with his baby friend. His mum said he had been looking forward to seeing her all week he left saying maybe next time she will love me too.

Just made a great stirfry then plum and apple comtpote with ice cream. I made vanilla cupcakes with chocolate icing to take to my folks tomorrow and some for a friend in hospital - they are yummy even if I say so myself.

Going to watch Gordon Ramsey swear at some more people.

ataraxis · 03/05/2009 23:07

Hellooooo

I had every intention of reading the entire thread, but got sidetracked with another and now too too tired, have to go to bed.

Hope you are all well, and getting some sleep.

Things are good here (except for the sleep front, which was going well but has all gone to pot recently).

Will try to get time to catch up soon (promise not to look at any other threads when I get a couple of hours aside for mn time).

Take care

TwilightSurfer · 04/05/2009 00:57

it appears all/most have real lives today. no1 i will hope the spots are not pox for you. sazzles say hi to the fam for me. oops how lovely you dd already has a suitor. ataraxis we've missed you.

off to be brought to tears again i'm sure. dd1 has worn me to my very core this weekend. she gets her 5y jabs in the morning. i will shed no tears! just hope they have enough folks to hold her down.

and if you watch the world news and see me floating by on my house....don't worry i'll be fine (i hope).

alittlebitshy · 04/05/2009 09:45

oh ts i feel for you. my dd and your dd1 sound so similar. we are at a loss as to what to do about dd's temper issues. considering finding a child / family therapist.

we're down in sussex at my folks'. had a lovely long weekend - very rare with dh's job. came for a friend's 30th party and the bank hol was a bonus. heading home after lunch.

cyteen · 04/05/2009 10:21

hi all, i did read the whole thread but haven't had time to comment as am being kept busy by pre-move cleaning. i am so ashamed of my low standards of housekeeping seriously, never again. i resolve to live cleaner in the new house!

joe stats:

was 8 months on Friday
still a lazy pudding
still no teeth
loves food - his favourite breakfast at the moment is drop scones with greek yoghurt
current fixations are water coming out of taps, hot beverages and motor vehicles
quite reserved in company but at home with mum and dad he is the life and soul of the party
lovely, snuggly and wonderful - we just can't get enough

CC i lol'd at "crawling like a giant slug". hope your move is stress-free, if such a thing is possible.

Buckets good to hear the EC is still going well. hope you don't have hypothyroidism; my friend has developed it postnatally and is thoroughly pissed off about it.

dizzydixies · 04/05/2009 10:44

cheers Sazz Joe is very stressed by all the upheaval so I'm not getting much done. I have cleaned the bathroom, packed loads of stuff, freecycled some CD towers and cleaned the bathroom but poor old DP is still having to do the bulk of the work - all the lifting and all the driving. If only I'd passed my bloody driving test at self.

Your day out sounds nice

cyteen · 04/05/2009 15:06

lol @ cleaning the bathroom twice. It wasn't that impressive!

dizzydixies · 04/05/2009 15:38

oh lovely, thank you for champers and cake glad the DDs had fun Sazz, can't wait to see the photos

ALBS glad you're sounding on the up - the photos on FB are great

PF thinking of you hope RL going smoothly

ataraxis lovely to 'see' you don't be cheating on us with the other threads now!!!

cyteen I'm knee deep in cleaning etc as well and only to have the place looking nice for Sun so they can all trash it again AIBU to seriously consider using the lovely pennies my PIL sent me for my birthday to pay for a cleaning session

sazz they're lovely

dizzydixies · 04/05/2009 16:15

am beginning to wish I'd never done the bloody front room the bill for the joiner has come in >£250 over the estimate and the tv bloke has just dropped his bill in >£75 over what he told us he was going to charge us I'm going to stop making the feckers that come to my house tea/coffee etc OR bill them for them after they're finished

at least he's agreed to come back and move the tv to where I wanted it in the first place - better not be getting charged for that

LoveBuckets · 04/05/2009 17:20

Hi all

High five to No1 for her shenanigans. But really though, shouldn't your DH put his money where his mouth is when it comes to '2 means 2'? It's not really fair on you - how can you take him seriously unless he has the snip?

Cyteen Wedding sounds great, they're usually so boring.

Well I woke up Sunday in a horribly meh mood, DH gave me a day pass but I didn't want to be alone because the mehness that isn't me would just make real me sad iyswim. That's how I know I'm not depressed (tho DH is worried I might be), the real me can see the mist of apathy around me. DD refused to come out for lunch with me (craft with Daddy so much more fun) so I forced DS1 to come out.

Then we got a phonecall from his only best friend's mum (my storyteller friend) so we went round there and played all day. Was just what I needed, good company, nice food, I did a bit of work for her and made her have a live cake making lesson. The boys play so nicely, they both seem to know when they've had enough company and go off to play separately for a break. Then I dropped DS1 home, came back and we went for a sauna, swim and a curry in the evening!

Today's been v lazy

Oh! Can't believe I forgot, DS1 has done some wees in the potty this weekend!!!! We had to whizz off to Argos and get the long-promised prize, a 'Shut Down Eve' robot toy. So it's been a pants-free day here.

LoveBuckets · 04/05/2009 17:30

More good news we are having a completely unexpected holiday in August. We are borrowing a static caravan on a site in Tenby slap in the middle of August for peanuts! Hurrah.

TwilightSurfer · 04/05/2009 18:39

ALBS you do sound cheerier. Sorry you dd and my dd are similar temperments. Gets difficult sometimes. Others....she's so cool to be around.

Buckets you day sounds lovely. I'm like you in that I like my space but I like company more.

Sazzles no armbands needed yet. I'm taking pics of the peninsula though so we can timelapse it's sinking. You can't walk out on it know...tis a tiny island today.

Miamla I liked your cake. The CCCishy frosting was incredible. Eats all the same in my book squished or not.

Hmm...now what am I forgetting...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DIZZY!

DD1 survived her kindergarten shots. She screamed bloody murder while me and another nurse held her down and a second nurse stuck her. After it was over she was like "hurry up I don't want to miss playground time at school."

TwilightSurfer · 04/05/2009 18:40

Cyteen {{{waves}}}}

hotterpotter · 04/05/2009 21:19

Dizzy you kept that quiet Happy Birthday

Sounds like you've had a lovely day too Buckets , hope it's banished the 'meh', even for a little while. And yay for DS1's potty action

Cyteen here's hoping this is the last move you have to do for a while and your new house is just what you want, and good luck to you too Cavey for your move, on Friday is it? I have been looking at train timetables and you can both get to Sheffield in an hour, as can I (It's even nearer for No1) so I propose a Sheffield meetup in a few weeks once you've got your boxes unpacked )

TS and ALBS about your DDs. I really hope you can find a way to handle their feisty natures.

We have had a lovely day with lots of visitors, but my blardy sewing machine has gone mental . I decided to have a go at making my own mei-tai, feeling a little too poor for a Miamla-tai. It was going OK, have stitched three of the straps, just stepped away from the machine for a minute when it started going all by itself was a bit like something out of Poltergeist, can't get it to turn off now without unplugging it, grrr. Is very old and only does straight stitches so not sure whether to try and get it fixed or just get a new machine, whichever it will be more pennies, doh!

dizzydixies · 04/05/2009 21:23

buckets story telling friend sounds fab - fully understand the mehness of it all - I've had a right bout today and I really shouldn't have

TS thank you, subtle as usual! Glad the shots are over for you and she seems to have gotten over it very quickly

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 04/05/2009 21:36

Miamla · 04/05/2009 21:54

evening all

well i've had a lovely afternoon at pertelote's party for her DD and I can confirm that her stairs are indeed very safe, carpeted and none of the bannister was broken

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 04/05/2009 21:57

pmsl laughing miamla glad it was a lovely day
Just been to settle ds, I was relieved as it was lookinglike I was going to have to blow cobwebs off the old dyson medela.
I am sure he is just comfort feeding though, as after a while I looked at him and it looked like he wasn't really feeding
Took him off to see and he was fast asleep.
