Miamla · 02/05/2009 21:41

ooh, i love clotted cream! my nanna used to bring it back from Devon for us when she went there on her hols

Miamla · 02/05/2009 21:42

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 02/05/2009 21:42

May have to settle for pringles select and a snickers.
I want a baby

Miamla · 02/05/2009 21:45

oooh, scones and clotted cream! Reminds me when we went to a little cafe on the beach in southend and DP asked for two cream teas please. girl said "sorry, we don't do cream teas" DP replied "well in that case can i have two cups of tea and two scones with cream please"
How he didn't giggle at her i will never understand!

Miamla · 02/05/2009 21:46

so No1, is it a choice between a baby or crisps and chocolate?

oopsacoconut · 02/05/2009 21:51

No1 - have mine she is currently grizzling in her bed she is fed, burped, snuggled and tired I am now at a loss!

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 02/05/2009 21:51

Lol yes I suppose it is.
Dh is really beckoning now.
I am deciding if I can stay awake to watch Ricky Hatton fight at 4 am or go to bed and get dh to wake me up.

oopsacoconut · 02/05/2009 21:53

Night No1, I'd go to bed and ask him to tell me the result at about 9 when he has the kids up and fed.

dizzydixies · 02/05/2009 21:54

DD2's initials are ARCD which sounds like arsed bless her!

my ex-bf's mum used to give us pudding of yorkshire puddings and icecream - was lovely as was she

No1 wild horses could not physically force me to stay up until 4am

dizzydixies · 02/05/2009 21:57

I found a nice place on the isle of Arran for a week during the summer hols BUT the price is unbelievable here

poppysocks · 02/05/2009 21:59

Did I hear talk of cream teas? That was (one of) my cravings with DD2. Will never forget DH returning from the supermarket with an exhausted DD1 when he'd chivalrously decided to walk there to collect me one (about a mile), forgetting that he also had our then just two year old in tow. The things she put up with while I was pg. Bless her.

Syrup sandwiches were a speciality of my Gran when we were children. Eurgh! DH enjoyed sugar sandwiches as a child.

Loving all the names. oops - I always said that I'd have twin girls called Poppy and Martha! Great combo imho.

dizzy - re: Sylvie (and your dentist) I had similar problems with DH's past. He was rather, ahem, popular at school. Therefore, virtually every standard girls' name was off limits due to ghosts of girlfriends past. Funny how our pasts always catch up with us somehow.

Steaknife · 02/05/2009 21:59

Baby asleep - check
Fresh pasta scoffed - check
Daft movie watched - check (blades of glory if you're wondering)
Quickly sneaking on MN before bed - check

Two more names for girls..
Marita
Melika

who has the clotted cream, I've tried to explain it to DH but he just gets confuzzled.

Him, "so its cream with lumps in"
Me, "yes, but no, but yes, but no - gah"

I've not even tried to explain Worzel Gummage.
Though he has seen Bagpuss and liked the magical mouse organ.

xpost oop I have been up to grizzly ds 3 times already. He has refused boob and bottle tonight and last night.

dizzydixies · 02/05/2009 22:02

oh no grizzly babies, time to behave

Steaknife · 02/05/2009 22:03

poppy lol at ex names being off limits

I really like the name Alice, but seeing as that was DHs girlfriend when I shagged met him then it was off limits.

Whereas my ex was called Bond and people would come up and ask me what his real name was and not believe me when I told them that it was his real name.

Steaky - we will have to get you a cream tea posted - our local farmshop posts cream tea in a box posted to most places or you could just take him some home when you have been to see us!

dizzydixies · 02/05/2009 22:07

right my lovelies, hotel has been emailed numbers for christening so I'm off - hope the grizzles settle down for the night

Steaknife · 02/05/2009 22:07

Okay, am I being really thick on FB, but a lady from Israel wants to be my friend. so erm is anyone here from israel? I'm thinking it would have come up in conversation before.
So I really don't know who she is.

OP posts:
oopsacoconut · 02/05/2009 22:08

Steaky there are some of us from foreign places but none from Israel - me thinks she is trying to stalky you. mmmm

poppysocks · 02/05/2009 22:09

I loved Blades of Glory steaky. SO utterly silly. We so rarely watch films but after a bottle of wine (before I knew I was pg with DD2 ) it worked well.

So, progress report from here:

DD1 in bed, albeit covered in grass after a sojourn into the garden while DH put the mower away. He didn't think to change her pjs before allowing her to walk through the house and go to bed
DD2 asleep after difficult bottle becuase DH STILL hasn't realised that you DO need to a. heat the water up before putting in the powder and b. shake it. We therefore had a blocked teat and a v. upset little lady.
Notice the pattern here?
On the more positive side:
Bottle of wine (shared!) coming to an end
Bar of on offer Milka at my side

Steaknife · 02/05/2009 22:09

Stalky a steaky?
Strange lady.

oopsacoconut · 02/05/2009 22:09

Night Dizzy - grizzly has stopped so I'm going to bed too. We really must move her into her own room soon!

poppysocks · 02/05/2009 22:11

steaky - we really are on the same names wavelength. DD2's middle name is Alice!

Steaknife · 02/05/2009 22:20

Right, so meet up chat.....

I will be in Malvern from 14 May for one week and then in Devon til 4 June.
Tis a nightmare to get anywhere on public transport from Malvern so I was thinking maybe a Bristol meet up in the last week of May.
I don't really know where everyone is, but I thought Bristol is fairly easy to get to on train or bus or whatever, plus I know it so won't get lost, plus it is pretty.

I am also very easily pursuaded to a London meet up in the first week of June as I have to come up to talk about the marine access bill with some fishermen (oh yes I know how to live)

sorry to hijack thread - as you were....
