dinky Oh dear - they really are a glutton for punishment these toddlers aren't they. A family friends son got my brothers head when they were little and whacked it against a pavement once....he's actually turned out to be a nice gentle sort of bloke so there's hope for your mates son !!!.....

I must try the training pants with DS. We've had a "poo in pull ups" weekend with a back track from the potty - even though annoyingly he tells me when he's doing a wee/poo. He's been a bit clingy to me this weekend so I'm going with it.

Re the water Beantin - I've never done it until they start eating proper food and drinking with it. I usually feed if unsettled and if they take it then chances are they're probably hungry. Thing is though, because I'm ff I can see how much DD is drinking and it's prob different with bf so can't advise. DS didn't like the water thing either (I tried it).

We're on the big bottles and faster teats today - DD just had some of her bottle and looked like her eyes might pop out of her head as she was trying to keep up !!...

PS anyone see the Apprentice last week? The woman who ran the catering team owns a restaurant near us - it's a pretty upmarket place (and popular) but seeing her on the programme being portrayed as a slightly autocratic boss put me off no end ! And the fact that she was prepared to put that rubbish food out made with rubbish ingredients (and seemed to think it was good) made me wonder ...hers is one of those "locally sourced food simply prepared" type places and it ain't cheap. Maybe secretly she's using Tesco value ingredients

PPSS Also - did anyone see Clare Balding on the Grand National make that mean comment to the winning jockey about his teeth??....I saw in the paper today that she's apparently had to apologise as the beeb had so many complaints !

Right, sorry my commentary on my tv watching now over

herbgarden · 06/04/2009 10:56

PPSS I was toying with the idea of maybe coming to the meet up tomorrow but depends on a number of things. I'm not sorted on Facebook so don't have details.....but I presume lunchtime in that place near Kings Cross which was discussed a while ago ???...
I'll see how we get on. I'm only a 35 min train ride but would prob bring a car anyway....

nkweto · 06/04/2009 11:33

Hi all..

Hope you have a great time tomorrow. There was talk of a meet up in the summer when MOS comes to town so hopefully I will make that one...

SMS what rubbish neighbours !

Dinky your poor DS.. hopefully it is just age/stage with your friends kids..

Beantin.. hope you are getting more sleep and feeds are going well.

Herbgarden go to the meet up !

littlesez your enjoyment of motherhood and adventures sounds exactly like my first maternity leave.. enjoy every minute of it !

I am covered in head to toe with really angry itchy blisters.. and am struggling to breastfeed DD because of the blisters getting the way..I might have to switch to formula.. express until the breasts/nipples recover and hope she will latch on again. I feel quite low about it all (but also extremely grateful that I did not blast the pox virus over everyone's beautiful newborns !!!!).... anyway going to lie down

PinkTulips · 06/04/2009 11:53

dinky... he had no accidents until 4pm yesterday... got a few pees in the toilet and was chuffed to bits with treats of juice and chocolate.... then between 4 and 6 he pooed himself twice and peed twice...... [bugger]

we're off to a bad start today but it's my fault... forgot to put him on the loo when he got up and he wet himself right after breakfast... it's so hard to remember to bring him constantly when i've got 20 other things buzzing around my head that need doing... maybe i should set a timer or something to go off once and hour so i remember.

my hot milk bra that i ordered arrived today thank god for the lovely MNers who helped me figure out my bra size... i'm still in shock at being a 34F.... and tbh, the MNer who said F/G might have had a point as they're not a bit loose on the cups.... far cry from my dinky little C cups pre kids

beantin.... keep in mind bm is for both thirst and hunger... just because he only latches on for 20 seconds doesn't mean you shouldn't have fed... it usually means clever baby was just having a little sip because he was thirsty. what type of water did you give? mineral water and tap water carry danf=gers of their own... if you really feel the need to give it make sure it's cooled, boiled, but only boiled once, water

thehouseofmirth · 06/04/2009 12:55

Herbgarden we're meeting at the cafe at Coram's Fields from about 11-ish.

Nkweto so sorry that you've got the pox and that we won't be meeting you tomorrow. Don't worry though,I'm sure we'll have a summer meet up.

swampster · 06/04/2009 13:00

Oh well done, HOM, now all the loons of the world will be there too!

dinkystinky · 06/04/2009 13:01

Hmm, DS1 has had his first accident - in the library!

OP posts:
PinkTulips · 06/04/2009 13:03

are there many loons lurking on the postnantal boards in the hope of gatecrashing a meetup of moms with screaming babies and toddlers in tow?

good luck to them if there are.... takes all sorts

swampster · 06/04/2009 13:07

Thousands!

thehouseofmirth · 06/04/2009 13:07

You're surely not serious Swampster?

swampster · 06/04/2009 13:27

I will be the one with the moustache and false nose. When I say "It is warm for Moscow", you must reply: "But the dove sometimes walks".

PinkTulips · 06/04/2009 13:58

lol dinky... that boy has a sense of style

ds1 just pooed his pants again... and wandered up to me and asked for the toilet afterwards again the poor child hasn't got a clue... have put him in a pull up as i've run out of knickers! house is too cold for pantsless wandering right now.

need to go out and buy biscuits now... i urgently need biscuits..... and possibly milk for the kids but mostly biscuits

want to hear a comedy classic from the tulip children?

dd & ds1 in unison; knock knock
me; who's there?
dd & ds1; potato
me; potato who?
potato up in the sky [manic laughter]
me;
dd & ds1; knock knock
me; who's there?
dd & ds1; socks
me; socks who?
dd & ds1; socks over there! [manic laughter]
me; ??????
dd & ds1; knock knock
me; who wants to help mommy go buy biscuits?

they seem to have missed the fundamental point of jokes.... the funny bit

dinkystinky · 06/04/2009 14:09

Ah bless those little Tulip jokers... you may have the next Ant and Dec on your hands there Pink...

PinkTulips · 06/04/2009 14:14

right biscuit situation needs rectifying. wish me luck, it's like a scene from 'the perfect storm' out there!

thehouseofmirth · 06/04/2009 14:32

Oh god I'm thick, I only just realised what kind of accident you meant Dinky. Still, lots of paper handy to clean things up with...

Swampy shall I put all the mobile numbers on here too that people have shared on FB?

PT DS's jokes are similarly hysterical. Wouldn't it be quicker/easier for you to make some biscuits?

Beantin · 06/04/2009 14:42

Or eat DH's biccies, like I'm doing, interspersed with chocolate...

MrsY · 06/04/2009 15:01

Herby - there's an apprentice thread I post on casually glanced at, and it says that her restaraunt asks people to sell them any excess fruit and veg they've grown in return for vouchers for their special offer lunch deal...

SMS - just posted on the thread about meeting up - my train gets in at about half ten. Will that give us enough time to get to Corum Fields for 11 feed?

Although, I have to say I still haven't decided if I can come or not - John's telling me that it will be good to get out and about, but I also have to do the shopping and pay my phone bill and renew the car insurance and all the million other things!!! Life is crap...

M had a lovely 8 hour break between feeds last night - however, she did it from 7.30 - 3.30 instead of 11.30 to 7.30! Ho hum...

herbgarden · 06/04/2009 15:17

mrsy I should have popped down a couple of my homegrown courgettes and the two carrots I managed from the veggie patch in our old garden shouldn't I....

PinkTulips · 06/04/2009 16:16

make biscuits with 2 whining preschoolers and a constantly needing to be held baby

oh, i get it... it's a joke right?

i pretty much decided baking was no go during school holidays when ds1 smashed my best mixing bowl on the floor last summer wrestling dd for it.... imagine that with aaron withing range of the flying glass [bshcok]

besides, it was fresh air for them

have been all good and tidied up, hung washing, filled machine and swept downstairs so am smugly enjoying my choc chip cookies now... best thing is i only had 3 of dd's wheat free choc chip cookies so told ds1 he could only have 3 of the normal cookies as 'it's not fair if you get more than sarah' [evil cackle] more for me!

PinkTulips · 06/04/2009 16:17

shcok? interesting...

jenniferturkington · 06/04/2009 17:28

Have posted on FB, despite being a shockingly irregular poster, i will be coming tomorrow- hope that's ok!

thehouseofmirth · 06/04/2009 18:10

OK I am still a bit snotty and coughy from my cold last week. Would you all prefer it if I stayed away tomorrow? (because of the cold that is, not generally...)

PinkTulips · 06/04/2009 18:12

dd is now bringing me jehovah's witnesses she finds on the street.

superb

thehouseofmirth · 06/04/2009 18:29

PT oh no! What did you do?

Now, do you think I should be concerned that pretty much the only time Tarran smiles is when I put him under the coffee table...

PinkTulips · 06/04/2009 18:40

thankfully it wasn't the usual one who brings her whole family with her and keeps me talking for 1/2 hour, was just one handing out fliers for some easter convention but the hare brained child actually ran down the footpath, grabbed his hand and pulled him up to the house.... with me making this face watching from the window!

is it a wooden coffeetable? has ds1 drawn bootiful pictures on the underside?
