You don't wriggle out of it that easily, HOM

HoM - please do come if you feel up to it; will be a good opportunity to see if Tarran smiles under cafe tables too

Took Danny to the cranial osteopath today and he was chatting/flirting with the 2 lady osteopaths who were treating him - good to see he's a ladies man already.

MS - do you think you might maybe be a little bit excited?

Pink - your daughter actually is hilarious! Today collecting jehovah's witnesses, tomorrow who knows....

PinkTulips · 06/04/2009 20:32

she's taken to waving at peple lately too..... not a cheerful smily wave mind you, oh no... that could be constued as normal. sarah waves like a child from a horror movie, all poe faced and solemn and slow motion. people crash into walls trying to give her a wide berth when we're in town

did i mention ds1 set off the alarm in the supermarket today?

i'm mighty popular out and about with those 2 in tow

dinkystinky · 06/04/2009 20:45

That had me snorting with laughter Pink - can just imagine it.

So today's potty boot camp tally was 2 wees in the potty and one accident in the library and am immensely wet nappy over his lunchtime nap. DS1 has also taken to practising sprinting to his potty by yelling "I want my potty" then racing to it - and then putting it on his head (thankfully without wee in it) Think I may have to explain the concept of potty training to him again...

Evening all,

(sounds a bit policman/womany doesn't it?)

Hope everyone is ok, apart from unsettled bubs and chicken pox ( poor you nkweto ).

Alls well here or was apart from today as had problems with my cars electics cant get the window to go back up on the passenger side, going to get it looked at tomorrow so wont be making the meet either am glad to see there is another being mooted for the summer though when MOS is in the UK as im bloody coming to that one!

Was in London on Saturday night though for a uni get together and had horrid hideous hangover on Sunday - far too many cocktails but a wonderful evening nonetheless.

Milo is being lovely at the moment, he seems to have turned a corner with the sleeping thing and for the last week or so has gone 5 hours (sometimes even six) every night now, am sooo glad - hope it all picks up for everyone else soon as well as i know there is nothing worse than being dog tired!

Hope the car isnt going to be super expensive to fix as its all coming at once, mot's for both mine and DH's cars then both road tax next month - think we are going to have to get six months this time as the three weeks DH took off is still being felt here financially.

Well hope you all have a lovely time and eat lots of nice cake It sounds like its going to be a fun meet!

spottypushedherbabyout · 06/04/2009 21:11

Read a couple of posts in the 2 mins I'm actually allowed to sit at the pute without DH shoving a screaming child at me whilst stumbling off muttering he cant cope - poor man (well he has had the baby for nearly 10 whole minutes you know!!)

Mini PT anecdotes really made me larff (and therefore remember to do a few pelvic floor exercises!) Your DS has nothing on me Dinky

Hope you all enjoy the meet up tomorrow. If the place is good and there is going to be one in the Summer can we all arrange a date soon????? That way I'll be able to plan way in advance and hopefully find tickets that cost less than £150!!!!

SomeMightSay · 06/04/2009 21:33

herb Yes, please come if you can. Would love to meet you in person.
nkweto I hope you feel better soon. Sending lots of hugs your way. x
MrsY Go on, come to meet up, you want to really. I have to do food shop too at some point tomorrow. I've posted on FB, my train comes in at 10:19 (if I get on the right one [smile) so I have said that I'm quite happy to wait around for people. I am also quite happy for Luke to wait a bit for his feed, 10/15mins won't kill him.
JenT See you tomoz
thom I have managed to transfer ds1's cold to the baby through dummies. Ds1 takes Lukes dummy, puts it in his own mouth and without thinking, I've been taking it off him and giving it straight back to baby
PT I have just lughed out loud at the picture you paint of being out with the lo's.

SomeMightSay · 06/04/2009 22:07

Right then, off to bed now in hopes I don't looklike complete crap tomorrow!
I'm hoping to get ready in the am quickly enough so that I can print off a map of directions from waterloo to the park, but if I don't have time, I will def be on the phone to one of you!

See you all tomorrow. Very excited, although not as much as MS

PinkTulips · 06/04/2009 22:31

hopes it rains on ye

and yer cake

PinkTulips · 06/04/2009 22:41

dinky... you're doing slightly better than us. we had;
1 wet pants
1 pooey pants
kept his pull-ups dry for 4 hours and then wet them so heavily in the space of a few minutes the damn thing actually leaked everywhere thus defeating it's purpose altogether
4 pees in the toilet

we've also discovered that on top of ds1 being afraid of his potty (cries), he's afraid of the toilet when it has bubbles in it... rim block has had to be binned. add this to the fact that his big bum doesn't fit on the baby seat and he regularly falls into the toilet and that he has absolutely no idea when he needs to go i'm really not sure this is working out to be much of a success

spottypushedherbabyout · 06/04/2009 23:41

2nd PT

I have just packed up party bags for DS1's 2nd birthday and feel all nostalgic at what I was doing 2 yrs ago.....

Actually I was feeling pretty shit at not having my home birth and approaching a 'medically planned' (NOT elective) section but hey ho ....ahhh the mammories memories!

Just thought I'd share...I went to York yesterday and on the way home DS1 opened the car door whilst I was in the 3rd lane of the motorway! Then got out of his car seat straps about 10 miles from home I have never had to pull over before but did it twice on two hard shoulders!!!!! Any tips??? On the straps thing that is, I worked out that the child locks were on already and I'd set them to 'off' after buying the car

SomeMightSay · 07/04/2009 00:14

Thanks PT I think the forcast is rain too.

spotty I saw a thread on here a while back about lo's being able to unclasp their belts in car seats and apparently you can buy something to put over the buckles, can't remember where though. Might be worth an archieve search or a google search or maybe even a look in mothercare

Do you all know what I love? (apart from moaning that is?) That it is always my turn to do the night feeds. No matter if he working or not and no matyter what time and ow many times. Unless dp wants to have sex, when I say no because I have to be up in a minute, he says then that he'll feed Luke. But anyway, he isn't working until tomorrow night, and he will go back to bed when #i get home from the meet, but I still have to get up to feed Luke, and I'll have to do the next one too. But 2 parents, 2 feeds........ Pisses me off because when he not working, he'll stay in bed til at leat 11am and will even go back to bed in the afternoon. But what about me? Again, I appreciate that he does work hard so I don't have to, but what does he think I do?Why don't I ever deserve a night off unless I put out? So I'm spending another night on the sofa. 3rd in a row

SomeMightSay · 07/04/2009 00:18

Oh and my pp isn't based on when he works nights, I know and expect him to sleep and rest as much as he can then, but most tims he'll get in at 6:30, go straight to bed and won't surface till at least 4pm. So on a weekend when he might not be working at all, he still rarely helps with the nights.

spottypushedherbabyout · 07/04/2009 00:46

Ditto SMS - apart from the sex part... my DH can whistle for that bit!

I'm still up waiting for Sam to get up for his 11pm feed, didn't think it was worth going to bed at 10 when I was originally tired - stupid me! DH is currently in bed snoring...........

SomeMightSay · 07/04/2009 01:00

Same here. Last night Luke slept for 6.5 hours when he was first put to bed, and like you, I went to bed at 10 thinking he'd prob be awake for feed at 11ish, but decided to live in hope. Dp and both ds's are now snoring heads off. I want to punch my dp and could really do with not spending another night on the sofa but think night feeds are easier to deal with if you have no choice iyswim. When dp is working nights, I'll get up quite happily but when he's here, I don't think IBU to expect it to be split even just 80/20

jenniferturkington · 07/04/2009 06:29

morning! London today, yay! How many people are coming?

KT1983 · 07/04/2009 06:55

Hiya,
Just wanted to say hope you all have a great day out in London Town - Very jealous....Ive got to spend the day with the MIL...Oh what fun

SomeMightSay · 07/04/2009 07:27

KT Don't envy you then

JenT According to the FB page, there's a fair few, although I've just seen it's forcasted to rain so that might put some people off?
Not me though, I'll be there come rain or shine. The only thing that may stop me is my sense of direction. I could aim for Russell Square and end up at Nightsbridge! So glad I had children and can claim baby brain for the rest of my life now......I can, can't I?

Not sure how to dress Luke. Whenever I go out, I see loads of babies really wrapped up, big thick fluffy coats, big old blankets, hats, gloves, foot-,muffs. He's normally just in a hoodie (little chav) and one blanket folded in 2, but he always feels warm enough. So no judging if Luke is the most under-dressed
I will prob put hat and gloves on him today because they said it might rain and he will be in single forward facing pushchair so won't have his big bro shielding him from any breeze. Although on public transport, I may not use hat, I mightjust bring one, he has loads of hair anyway.

Enough from me, lets get ready and get going!!!

dinkystinky · 07/04/2009 07:59

SMS and Spotty - hope you both got some sleep last night.

Danny has woken up this morning with a red mark in his eye so may need to go see the doctor this morning about it - emergency clinic is at 10.30 and you just wait till you're seen so will prob end up missing the meet up or being v late to it - are you guys still likely to be there at 12?

OP posts:
SomeMightSay · 07/04/2009 08:02

Oh dinky Poor Danny. He may have just scratched it in his sleep? Jacob used to do it, you're probably right to get it checked though.

Pempe · 07/04/2009 08:20

Hi everyone - hope the meet goes well today, I am v. jealous.
After 2 fantastic (for us) nights with Harry going to bed at 9.30 and not waking for his first feed until 4 we had a terrible night last night - he groaned and strained from 2am until 7am when he produced a lovely explosive nappy. The reason I'm sharing this delightful information is because I wanted to tell you what my excellent paediatrician suggested (some of you know we've had probs with her and are going to change anyway, but we already had an appointment with her for his 2 month jabs yesterday, so we stuck with her for that, but now we're definitely going to change) - so we called her this morning to ask if the straining and obvious distress is normal, you know what she suggested? Put some oil on the end of a thermometer and stick it up his bum, that should get him to poo.
This may well be sound advice, for all I know, but it doesn't seem like it to me. I was . Has anyone else got a strainy baby and knows how to help? Has anyone else ever been told to stick something up their baby's bum?
we are both exhausted today as a result and I can't face the million things I have to do.

SomeMightSay · 07/04/2009 08:22

I have just printed off the directions map thom linked on the FB page, so I'll know where I'm going (????????)
Won't be back on now because I have to leave in half an hour and neither me nor Luke are dressed, and the single pushchair is still in hiding somewhere.......
See you all in a few hours. Very excited. x

SomeMightSay · 07/04/2009 08:24

Pempe I haven't heard that before. I know people take babies temperature from the rectum, so it's not unheard of to insert a thermometer, but I've not heard it making them poo. Does she think your ds is a ketchup bottle?
