bloody hell! just put H on his playmay/babygym whilst I started preparing dinner. I come back 10 mins later and he lying with his head under the sofa! WTF? The sofa is around 5 feet from where he started! He can't roll yet but pushes down on the floor with his feet. Can't believe he got that far!

I'm in bits today. Had the nanny in and although I meant to study I went to a water aerobics class (thinking quite wrongly it would be easy!) My back and legs are killing me, god knows what I'll feel like tomorrow. It was good to get out and exercise though and the woman who does the class is a professional personal trainer so she did it all properly taking into account the sad state of my body and I might book a few one to one exercise sessions with her. Managed around 15 mins study when I got back but the most important thing is that I'm focused on it again. Will do a little more 'light reading' tonight and then serious study tomorrow when nanny is here for 4 hours. Might study around 2 hours then wander down to cinabon for a coffee then a little more studying. watch this space.....

we don't have to worry about socks out here

dinkystinky · 03/05/2009 15:16

THOM - Danny has abnormally large feet too (with his large feet and large eyes and slightly hairy ears I've started calling him my little hobbit ). Footless babygrows with socks AND shoes on him or going up a size in babygrows is the only way to go I'm afraid. Though I've found the trompette socks (0-12 months) fit him quite well and he cant get rid of those as well as the gap ones...

MoS - wow at H's amazing rolling exploits. You're not going to be leave him anywhere now!

Was looking online for a playmat for Mr T and found this site! I am a big fan of dogs but this is (barking) mad!

littleboyblue · 03/05/2009 16:57

thom erm.............. Is that site a p**s take? Or is it serious? I cannot decide!
MoS Go H at the rolling/shuffling down the floor. That's it for you now then, no leaving a room without making sure the lo is secure. That's crazy

Luke held a soft rattle today and had a little shake. I know he doesn't really have control over his arms, but he was staring at the toy and really laughing. Until ds1 snatched it and threw it at him.
I have done sweet FA today. I haven't even washed

dinkystinky · 03/05/2009 17:14

Wow that is some site THOM!

LBB - its good to have a slobby day once in a while. We took DS1 and DS2 to Columbia Road market this morning - were at the market 1 minute before Danny started screaming his head off and DS1 started clamouring for the playground instead, so not a particularly successful trip - wish had enjoyed a slobby day instead!

Hey! I'm not a slob!!!!! I do stink abit now though, I think.
Thinking of having a nice hot bath after these 2 have gone to bed.....or just getting into bed myself.

rosieposey · 03/05/2009 19:43

Hello ladies

Have been rubbish at posting and havent even had the time to lurk! Read back three or so pages though and am sorry to hear about Franks breathing incedent though MS - how scary, glad all seems to be well now though.

Alls well here, Milo is a lovely smiley chubby bundle and is on the odd night going right through till 7 sometimes (from about 11) not that often for me to think its going to be a regular occurence though.

Keep seeing pics of babies on FB - they are all starting to look so big babyish now bless them and Milo is definately loads of fun. Still gets his random grouchy hour or two from about 4 onwards though then usually is asleep from about 7 or 8 ish so hes settled into his own routine it seems. Three months on Weds!

Was hoping for some lovely BBQ weather this weekend but its bloody cold here - grr! Its sods law as we just bought some swanky garden furniture which im dying to use

Well will try and keep up a little better now things have calmed down a bit - just always seem to be so busy! Am waiting to hear back from Bath Uni too so that i can go back this Sept to finish the last year of my degree, hope it all comes off as dont really fancy the 2 hour commute with bubs two or three times a week - have to go back though and get this last year done come hell or high water!

Sorry if ive missed any big news over the last two weeks and that everybody and their babies are doing well - its nice to catch up with you all, Being pregnant seems like a lifetime ago and i can hardly believe that there will shortly be a due in Feb 2010.

SweetTalkinWoman · 03/05/2009 20:08

Hi Rosieposey! Glad Milo is doing well and that he is falling into some sort of routine!!

I'm another rubbish poster . In my defense I've had Supernanny my mum staying with me all last week and also have been failing miserably to stay on top of things (laundry, paperwork, friends - you know the score ). I think things are improving generally though. Little O seems to be more accepting of Baby Sammer (as she calls him) and he is smiling and cooing at her which she seems to enjoy. I know I do!!! Things go pear-shaped with Sam when the sun goes down though. We do seem to be getting a good bedtime routine sorted and although we have to make a few returns to the bedroom, he generally sleeps until about 2am (usually with a dreamfeed at 10ish) but then just won't settle back to sleep for a good couple of hours. He doesn't usually cry, just grunts and snorts and squirms and whimpers. He then wakes after an hour for another feed . He definitely hungry because he drains the bottle and isn't putting on too much weight ... He's 10 weeks today. DH and I are now doing one night on, one off, but I hope we get this sorted soon.

I was at DD this morning - she counted to 13!!! She's only 21 months - I couldn't believe it. She then got her magnetic letters and could name about half of the ones I held up to her! I can hear her in her cot now and she just said "Love you Baby Sam, love you Mummy Mummy, love you Daddy Daddy, love you Piggle". Aaaah - it's all worth it now!

DH is at his friends wedding - it was no children allowed and we couldn't find a babysitter for DD. Tomorrow we have friends around for a BBQ on the new patio, so I'll be out there tomorrow morning doing a bit of polishing!

Right, I'm going to try and catch up on the thread now. Thought I'd better post while I could! Hope you are all doing well.

littleboyblue · 03/05/2009 21:07

Hi rosie It flies by doesn't it? Luke is 3 months tomorrow, although that seems to have gone quite slow. Am relieved though because it means I can start treating his cold and snuffles with vapour rub and decongestant drops, so hopefully that'll help him at night.
They do lose their newborn look very quickly don't they? In 13 weeks ds1 will be 2 and Luke will be 6 months! That's weird.
STW That is so sweet about O. Jacob is the same age (21 months tomorrow) and he has never said mummy or mamma. When asked who I am, he looks at me and laughs, I'm sure he's just winding me up. He can say 2, but no counting. This week he has also learned to say scissors , book and Chris (my bro). He is using different tones so don't think the talking will be too long off, it's very odd though when I see other children his age that are far more advanced than he is, but tbf, all the children we know his age are girls and I think they are generally quicker at doing things than boys aren't they?
It's nice when the toddlers start being a bit nicer isn't it? Jacob is also doing really well with Luke, although now instead of telling Jacob to stop hitting him, I'm telling him to leave off with the bear hugs! He also tries to pick him up which is quite funny, but another thing I have to keep my eye on

lardybump · 04/05/2009 10:23

Morning all. DS has been up most of the night so we are very tired. Going to try and catch up with the housework today so wont be on much. Hope you all enjoy your bank holls

dinkystinky · 04/05/2009 10:26

Morning - nice to see you on the board Rosie and great that Milo is a happy little chappy. STW - great that little O is warming to Sam at long last; hope Sam's sleeping improves soon and then sounds like all will be peachy in STW-land.

DH is painting our back bedroom this bank holiday weekend in preparation for moving DS1 in there and then, in June, we'll be moving Danny into DS1's old room next door to our bedroom. The room is a little darker in the mornings (and alot quieter at nights) so am hoping for fewer 5am starts to the day from the little hobbit..

Hmm, new thread title suggestions -

"Fab Feb 2009: baby coos and stinky poos, three months on"

OP posts:
littleboyblue · 04/05/2009 11:24

dinky Great thread title.
Nothing remotely exciting, interesting or even dull and boring to share today! (I hear you all sigh with relief)
I still haven't had a wash or got dressed been doing a bit of light housework this morning and been trying to play with Luke and get Jacob involved but J is such a brute it gets very difficult to do things with both of them.
Luke has been holding small rattles and soft toys again this morning and even at one point, it looked like he was trying to pass a toy to his other hand!

Erm....Jacob has just pulled his high-chair over to the balcony doors and is sitting in it just looking out the window. He really is very strange!!!!

Cocodrillo · 04/05/2009 12:15

DD2 got up and vomitted everywhere this morning, narrowly missing baby who was chillaxing in his pram next to her highchair. Hope he doesn't get it (if there is an it to get). DD2 seems okish, now, has been playing, but not her normal self.

rosieposey · 04/05/2009 16:13

Hello all, hope your enjoying your bank holiday ... hooray!

Dinky you are the queen of thread title names tis' true That sounds like a good one (and the poo's are definately getting more stinky!)

Quiet one here today - DH doing lots of running about taking stuff to the tip from where we have been doing the house ( the neighbours will be so glad! ) but its bloody cold here! What happened to the lovely weather we were promised?

thehouseofmirth · 04/05/2009 17:15

Cold here too. I actually put the heating on for an hour. Am now in my pyjamas with a Magnum and a glass of wine...

lardybump · 04/05/2009 17:35

Need some advice please!!!!!

DS has been really sick today all day... Very upset as well crying when ever I put him down... I have just changed his nappy and he has really green poo... It is grass green so very obvious...

What is wrong??? Is this a sign of anything??

swampster · 04/05/2009 17:48

Green poos = mucousy and/or dehydrated? I think. Eithrt way step up the liquids. Hope your DS is better soon, lardy.

swampster · 04/05/2009 17:49

Either, even!

dinkystinky · 04/05/2009 17:54

Lardy - I agree with Swampster - green poos equals v upset tummies. Up the liquids to keep him well hydrated. Are you using antibiotics or giving him any meds? They could be causing the upset tummy. Otherwise he may have abit of a bug - has he got a cold? Could be swallowing mucous which is upsetting his tummy.

THOM - I like your style! We've had the heating on here too (in fact its on right now in preparation for the boys' bathtime).

OP posts:
dinkystinky · 04/05/2009 17:56

P.s. Lardy - check his temperature. If he's running a temperature you may want to speak to your out of hours doc to check if there is anything you should be watching out for - hope he gets better soon.

OP posts:
littleboyblue · 04/05/2009 18:30

thom of the wine. Again!
Lardy As far as I remember, green poo is the first sign that they're getting an upset tummy or are getting a bit unwell. Any other obvious symptoms? How many nappies has it been? If just one, he might have just had a little prob that's now ok, if more than that, I'd give the doc a call, especially if he hasn't been himself. Hope he gets better. x

thehouseofmirth · 04/05/2009 18:56

Lardy is the poo mucousy? If it is, it's usually sign of a virus or sometimes teething if they're swallowing a lot of saliva. Hope he feels better soon.

LBB you make it sound like I am forever knocking it back!

swampster · 04/05/2009 19:04

I am knocking back a bottle of Carmeniere

Cocodrillo · 04/05/2009 19:29

We are about to crack open the vino too. Hope DS doesn't wake too soon for a feed or he will be drunk.
