ria

so glad i have a downstairs loo!!

vaRIAtyisthespiceoflife · 15/04/2009 11:05

argh, no motivation today

vaRIAtyisthespiceoflife · 15/04/2009 11:53

daisy, could you fit a stairgate to DDs room to keep her in/away from DS1s stuff? we has one on DS1s room when DS2 was a toddler.

baggins won't nap. I am about to crack.

TheNatty · 15/04/2009 11:53

know what u mean ria.. i have been writing lists for baby stuff all morning. not done ANY housework. im so lazy!

LackaDAISYcal · 15/04/2009 12:11

can't do the stairgate thing ria....her bedroom door opens out into the hallway so the gate would be inside the room and there is no space in there for it to open into the room....if that makes sense. We tried with the travel one we have, but she can take that off herself now

one of those annoying doorways eh daisy? i have one of them in my kitchen!

sorry baggins wont nap ria

LackaDAISYcal · 15/04/2009 13:27

It's actually quite useful that it opens outwards natty as it's the smallest room and it makes it a much more useable space.

I think I have a solution to our bedroom dilemma. DS1 and DD are going to share the little room and bumble is staying in the big room which will double as a playroom/dressing room. How we stop DD trying to climb the ladders to the top bunk is a question for another day!

Now we just have to sort it all out and get rid of some toys/make it safe for children of all ages!!

aaargh, have to get to the docs about a skin lesion. I had a type of skin cancer removed a few years ago and I think I have another one on my back. It is really itchy occasionally and tingles on and off all day an I'm sure it's getting bigger. I can't see it though, even contorting in front of the mirror, only feel it so not sure.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 15/04/2009 13:34

Better get that checked Daisy.

I have a mole/birth mark on my leg. Last autumn I thought it might be changing shape, but even though I'd been looking at it for almost 38 years I couldn't be sure. So I took a photo of it! And now I just need to find that photo and do a comparison 6 months on.

TheNatty · 15/04/2009 13:46

good idea jammy, daisy i draw round mine with permenant marker and check them a week later to see if they are getting bigger or not.

vaRIAtyisthespiceoflife · 15/04/2009 14:50

is anyone still about? how do I change the keyboard on DS1s laptop so it is UK (not the @ on the ")?

LackaDAISYcal · 15/04/2009 15:02

Ria....i have windows vista and if you go to control panel and then "clock, language and region" you can change the language of the keyboard there. I think it'll be the same on other versions of windows!

hope that helps.

vaRIAtyisthespiceoflife · 15/04/2009 15:16

thanks daisy, didn't seem to work so no idea. No doubt we'll change it by accident and not know how we've done it!

back to DS2s room I suppose...

LackaDAISYcal · 15/04/2009 15:49

you want norty or jammy...their DH's are both something with pooters!

vaRIAtyisthespiceoflife · 15/04/2009 16:36

have come to the conclusion that the boys room is not going to be big enough until we can have bunkbeds tis frustrating!!!

vaRIAtyisthespiceoflife · 15/04/2009 22:52

where are you all? I need moral support! Am spring cleaning the living room and have pulled my back. It's o much quicker and easier with no kids around though!

LackaDAISYcal · 15/04/2009 23:04

ria

I'm here, but the PN threads are taking a fucking age to load or are making IE crash. Only the PN threads though.....I have been prolific all over the other boards tonight!!

spring cleaning......I would if I could get half a fucking hour without a whinging child to deal with. I MN they play away and ignore me.....i try and move from the sofa and all hell lets loose. Well that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it

sorry, that was a bit sweary.

OP posts:
vaRIAtyisthespiceoflife · 15/04/2009 23:18

you want sweary? you should be here

I nearly started a teary AIBU this afternoon - AIBU to want to go in my kids rooms and shout don't fecking touch anything!

Maybe if I can get the living room done I they will be so shocked that they can't find their toys where they left them (the floor) that they will leave it alone for more than 5 minutes!

have got the furniture moved and the pictures back on the walls, there's just the bit I'm sat in now and the fireplace wall to do, and finish the floor, but that will be getting mopped tomorrow. Am too uncomfortable now to be crawling around wielding my cloth.

vaRIAtyisthespiceoflife · 16/04/2009 08:56

feel sick and drowsy this morning, don't know if it's the pain or the paracetamol. didn't sleep well and baggins has been up hours. can't wait for DH to come home.

TheNatty · 16/04/2009 09:59

aww ria

vaRIAtyisthespiceoflife · 16/04/2009 10:43

short of barbed wire and glueing broken glass to the top of the computer desk, how do I stop baggins climbing on it so he can reach the new shelf we put up for stuff to be out of his way?

and why is DS1 unable to follow simple instructions (go and have a shower and wash your hair, he has had 2 showers now as he forgot his hair), why does he think it's funny that he had his t-shirt on inside out and said "oh, that's the 2nd time this week I've done that". why did he put his coat on back to front last night? Am I going to have to accept that all his brain cells are too busy with science/religion/maths and not able to run the common sense side of his brain? All his girlfriends are going to hate me because he is incapable!

my back actually doesn't hurt too mcuh just now. But I stil feel really sick and dizzy/drowsy. seems a strange reaction to paracetamol.

am slowly plodding with the housework. DS1 is going to lazerquest with his friend at 3pm so I'm going to hoover and mop the floor then as baggins can go to bed and DS2 can keep out of the way. I am not doing post bedtime cleaning tonight, I am going to do sleeping!

i have just had a mummy friend round, and we had fun stroking furry nappies while the LOs played with DH.
he is now down the shop buying my latest craving, cadburys flakes, is he a wonderful man.

so nice to have a mummy friend who is similar to me in RL, all my other friends bottle fed, used disposables and puree weaned. not that anything is wrong with that, i just get sick of justifying myself all the time "no she wont choke" "no you just put them in the machine" "no i wont fed her in the other room"

michael is sloooowwwllly coming round to george as a babies possibly name. what do you guys think? i thought it went well with thomas and ellen
