Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
coolkat · 31/03/2009 10:29

Just a quick one then going back to bed. Ended up in bed at 6.30. Real pain in neck and very stiff still and was being sick in the night like a good un!

LackaDAISYcal · 31/03/2009 10:40

god I feel rough. aching from head to foot thios morning and not sure if ti's flu or oif it's from this balrdy would infection, whish is till lookking angry and sore..

and to cap it all DS1 is running a fever of 40 and is off school. The PILs have stepped up the plate and taken DD out for the day.

I really should go to the doctors but not fit to drive and can't get there otherwise Dh is in meetings all day in York.

Might call the docs and see what they say.

Emmanj · 31/03/2009 10:52

oh dear daisy, sounds awful...ring the docs and see what they say - they might be able to get someone out to you?

big hugs x

MerryMarigold · 31/03/2009 10:52

Hope you get well soon lacks and coolkat. Hope Lacks ds1 just sleeps with his high temp. Sorry wound is still back.

I am in bed too - with laptop and babies. Had high temp last night...lots of weird, vivid dreams! Got stinker cold and earache and cough, just phlegm everywhere. Babies slept well though cos I abandoned them and slept in spare room till 3.30!

LackaDAISYcal · 31/03/2009 11:54

doc has cleverly diagnosed me as a ligger over the phone . She thinks temp etc to do with flu rather than wound but has prescribed ABs (that I can't get out to collect ) "just in case". Just in case of what she didn't say.

Last time I felt like this I had a proper case of food poisoning.

Bumble is asleep, de ye think I can snooze and leave DS1 to his own devices?

chocolategal · 31/03/2009 12:03

Sending lots of get well wishes to everyone in need xx

LackaDAISYcal · 31/03/2009 12:07

juanita is a lifesaver

she is going to pick up my prescription when she is at baby clinic this aft and drop it off to me.

Thanks jaunita

chocolategal · 31/03/2009 14:18

Thats good daisy, it does sound like it could be steming from your wound unfortunately. Hope the doc has given you a decent strength AB (as bf allows).
You could always get them to send you a wound swab for you to swab it to be sure.

You know you are more than entitled for a district nurse to come out to check and swab your wound.

LackaDAISYcal · 31/03/2009 14:33

I didn't know that choc! You nurses are a handy lot to know sometimes!!

DH is out of his meeting but had booked all day out of the office so can come home early. I will see what he thinks about getting me to the docs later.

My main worry is that the cold is masking the symptoms of something much worse

chocolategal · 31/03/2009 14:57

Ah, step away from google!
It sounds like a combination of a wound infection, a cold and just you generally being a bit run down and not being able to fight off the infection. Quite understandable with all your sleepless nights.
If you don't feel up to going to the surgery then give them a ring say how crappy you are feeling and you would like a nurse to come check your wound.

Now I really should go tidy but sitting watching jon & Kate + 8!!

Honeymoonmummy · 31/03/2009 15:09

Wow, that's a lot of posts in one day on this thread! Twinkling, you made me laugh with chicken comment

I was just looking at the valerina, it's a shame it's not allowed while BFing because I've just been prescribed drugs for PND and would rather stick to something herbal.

I regularly have duvet days, esp when my back/ hips/ knees are playing up. But I've only got the one baby at the moment which makes it a little easier...

I've just taken DD for the 3rd set of jabs, she was really good, mind you, she had a boob in her mouth at the time...

chocolategal · 31/03/2009 15:19

Honeymoon, sorry to hear of your pnd, hope the pils help. I meant to say the cd I have is called baby sshhhh. It has a hairdyer, tumble dryer and fan heater on it. It is a softer noise than the real thing though but it works for us when we need to use it!

Honeymoonmummy · 31/03/2009 15:21

Thanks Chocolategal, I'll find it now!

Honeymoonmummy · 31/03/2009 15:30

Is it this one Chocolate?

chocolategal · 31/03/2009 15:33

Yes I was just about to link to it. Is that similiar to what your dh downloaded?

chocolategal · 31/03/2009 15:39

Ooops! Sorry!

Oblomov · 31/03/2009 15:51

Daisy, hope you are o.k. Have you called the nurse out.

Like Honey says, shame the valerina is not suitable for bf'ing. The bach one I have taken is suitable for pregnant ladies. But it doesn't specifically say that it is o.k. for bf'ing ones. Am I to assume that if it o.k. and actually recommended during pg, thus it is safe whilse bf ? or is that too much of an assumption ?

Oblomov · 31/03/2009 15:54

It states on its website re taking it whilst bf : "However, all medication taken during pregnancy has to be under the control of a qualified doctor or midwife."
what does that mean then ?

chocolategal · 31/03/2009 15:56

Honeymoon email me jkelman @ fsmail dot net & I can get a copy of cd sent to you for you to try it

LackaDAISYcal · 31/03/2009 16:18

from good old kellymom on Valerian I watch that James Wong programme and he made Valerian hot chbocolate the other night and said that it wasn't advisable during pregnancy.

I didn't call the nurse out in the end, but am wondering whether to call and see if I can see the doc or not. DH is home so he can drive me.

Even my fingers are sore

Ceebee74 · 31/03/2009 16:19

daisy how are you feeling? Make sure you follow chocs advice and get a nurse out to see you!

Coolkat how are you? Any better?

Well have got some very funny looks from Sam today - been to the hairdressers and she dried my hair straight - he has been looking like at me all day

LackaDAISYcal · 31/03/2009 16:41

I'm waiting on another call back from the doctor

Oblomov · 31/03/2009 17:08

re valerian. depends on your take on things. if you are naturally over cautious. or if you are a total believer than any drug, any herb is bad for baby then this might not appeal. i can of course appreciate that. but reading it. it seems just about o.k. to me' this is my personal take on this. i think it would be o.k.
and thus, my bach is o.k. with me. I will of course monitor M with this. and would of course stop at the first sign that concerned me.
