OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
LittleMissNorty · 18/03/2009 21:59

x-post Daisy....I don't change him unless I really have to either

Shit, he's screaming for food.....6 week spurt I think....he was fed at 7.30pm!!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 18/03/2009 22:23

You know, hearing you talking about your LOs puking and stuff, is really putting me off the idea of another!

TheNatty · 18/03/2009 22:24

yes alot of the formulas had that effect on my babies, tom turned out to be intolorant to daisy tho

ellen settled on hipp, which is the only organic one? perhaps something in that?

i am seriously hoping to avoid it this time, my babies dont tolorate formula to well.
problem is i have no support, so i know its going to be hard to bf full time.

also guys was thinking about my birth today, hospital have flatly refused my homebirth now cos of the water issue, but i have no childcare.
does anyone know what a person with no one to take her children DOES when she goes into labour??

TheNatty · 18/03/2009 22:26

DAIRY
tho @ daisy

TALLULAHBELLE · 18/03/2009 22:51

Not sure how long DH will be away Daisy. Wants to be back for DD birthday. DPs are close by & really good at helping out.Still pretty anxious about the prospect though

LackaDAISYcal · 18/03/2009 23:14

oh, tallulah don't know what to say without sounding woefully inadequate. We're here for some emotional, if not practical support though

pmsl natty....my children are strangely intolerant to daisy as well

hipp is the only formula without pro or pre biotics added I think.

Is there not a neighbour or friend that can watch the DC natty? or failing that can you hire a childminder/nanny or someone like that? or can someone support you so that DH can watch the kids? not ideal that though is it

I hear my lord and master starting to stir...night all

TheNatty · 18/03/2009 23:44

no we have no one. im happy to labour alone (in fact i would prefer it) but DH wont have any of it.
i dont know what to do, DH will insist they go to his mums, but his mum is a manic depressant, and has threatened thomas infront of me before let alone if i left him with her.

i am very worried.

would social put them in foster care? or is that only for single mums?

TheNatty · 18/03/2009 23:45

oh and T i second daisy on the emotional support, i dont know what else to say.
if you need anything we will try to help, who are you nearest too?

LittleMissNorty · 19/03/2009 08:51

Morning

I see its Ria's birthday today....Happy Birthday . Daisy, if you're in touch, please wish her a happy birthday....

Going back to convo last night, I changed formula when he was very young, with disastrous consequences....went from constipation to really bad diarrhoea...so have stayed put this time. What does dark green poo mean?

Tallulah, I'm sure you'll be fine with the 3 of them.....does DD1 like Cbeebies? Now might be the time to get her interested!

Jammy - are we acting as a good contraceptive?

DD woke with a temp of 39 this morning so a lazy day here (well for her anyway).

2 of my fish died today and have no idea why....think a well known pet shop may have sold me some diseased fish....bought 5 guppies on Saturday....4 have died and now 2 of my existing ones have gone . Going to go back to the shop but I bet they don't accept responsibility....

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 19/03/2009 18:22

My mum's just been made redundant! I thought teaching would have been pretty recession proof. Apparently not. I feel really bad for her, she has put her heart and soul into that job for the past 7 years and they just ditch her. Fuckers. I hope they let her go now and pay her til after the summer hols rather than making her work until the end of the school year.

for your fish norty.

Dp has gone to his golf lesson. The dcs are pissing me off, the constant bickering and screaming is wearing a bit thin right now. Plus I have lots of stuff to do for the bfing stand I am running at the NCT sale and they won't stop climbing all over me. Luckily ds didn't have a sleep today, so hopefully he'll go to sleep soon. It seems as if he is dropping his daytime nap. Please let it not be so, I might just have to throw myself out of the window!

TALLULAHBELLE · 19/03/2009 19:43

HAppy Birthday Ria.

for your mum Holly. Did her school close? Or is she on supply? Here in Scotland as you are employed by the council you have to be retained even if there is no post in your school. Hope they are giving her a mighty good package.

LackaDAISYcal · 19/03/2009 19:55

sorry for your fish norty, but if it's the well known pet shop I'm thinking about, they usually guarantee the fish they sell for a week so you should be OK. I doubt they'll replace your own fish that died, but they should either replace or refund the ones they sold you that died.

another awful night here and bumble is still poorly. DD has got a streaming cold as well now and has almost lost her voice, bless her.

Went out to the caff in Sainsbury's for lunch today (oh the high life ) and then DH drove back with bumble while DD and I did a bit of shopping and were planning on getting the bus back. Well I had a big fry up for lunch, but as we were paying for our stuff I realised I had to get to a loo and get there quickly.....of course they are upstairs and at the other end of the store. Only just made it in time, but I was wearing a long cardigan. You can guess the rest . I had to call DH to come and pick up up as there was no way I was getting on the bus with a tied up carrier bag full of shitty cardigan . I'm starting to see the funny side of it now, especially as I went past the much closer disabled loo following that recent thread on here about pram users and disabled loos!!

LackaDAISYcal · 19/03/2009 19:58

oh. holly. sorry about your mum . That is such a shitty thing to happen. How can teachers be made redundant?? especially in the middle of a school year?

Still waiting for more on my situation from work. I might email them tomorrow as there was a big meeting in our London office on Monday so I would have expected to have heard one way or the other by now.

and happy birthday Ria if you are lurking. I'll send a text from all of us incase she isn't

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 19/03/2009 20:21

for Holly's Mum, Daisy's cardi (as Daisy too of course), and Fairy's fish.

And Happy Birthday Ria if you're reading this.

Grumpy Jamlet most of the day today Not helped by the fact that she only had 45 min nap all day. Gave her calpol in the end before bed, bless her. During her nap and while she ate her tea I managed to prepare a veggie sheppie pie (v healthy), which DH complained about all through our tea, but still went for seconds . I've got an hours work to do now, may be back later.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 19/03/2009 20:22

Norty's fish, not Fairy's

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 19/03/2009 22:06

Unfortunately she is at an independent school, which is why she has lost her job. There are children dropping out every day because their parents can't afford the fees. They've made 4 teachers redundant and there are only 2 classes per year group! I guess it's ok for teachers though as they can always get supply work if they can't get a perm job. I just feel really sorry for her. I'll get her a nice mother's day pressie to cheer her up!

Happy birthday ria if you are lurking. Hope you had a lovely day x

Did anyone else apply for one of the trial Pop-ins nappies? I got mine today, it seems quite nice and soft.

LackaDAISYcal · 19/03/2009 22:16

I did holly, aaaaages ago and haven't received anything yet, but my friend has got hers too

arse for your mum and at all the people taking their kids out of private schools? where are they going to go when the good state schools are already hideously oversubscribed?

LackaDAISYcal · 19/03/2009 22:17

you need to make sure the insert isn't scrunched up with the pop-in holly or else it can wick at the legs. they are lovely though.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 19/03/2009 22:28

It does look a trifle complex and the instructions aren't that hot. Also just realised it is bamboo and not microfibre. I'm sure the ones I saw at the baby show were microfibre. I'm not a fan of bamboo anymore, it goes all crusty!!

I'm not sure where all these extra kids are going. Esp in Southampton. There are more Polish people here than in Poland. Seriously. There are going to be a few new schools opening in September, but the schools round here are really struggling. I'm very thankful dd got into our first choice, esp as there are 4 closer schools.

LackaDAISYcal · 19/03/2009 22:35

If you get on with it I have a nightime booster if you want it. They didn't go too crusty iirc, I think because they are short pile bamboo.

I'm still having email issues so i can't forward that email about testing on just yet, but I'll get onto it tomorrow.

Ohforfoxsake · 19/03/2009 23:29

sorry for your mum Holly. A lot of parents are doing the same around here, and its putting more pressure on the schools. Letters come out tomorrow for reception places, thank fuck they have a sibling policy still.

Oh shit Daisy, hope you are OK.

Sorry about the fish Norty.

Builders are gone, conservatory has a new roof which won't be a danger to life and limb, and I have been cleaning like a loony. House is now back to almost normal, and I have packed all the bags for the weekend. Kids going to my parents.

Did I mention I AM GOING AWAY ON MY OWN?

Ohforfoxsake · 19/03/2009 23:31

and now I am off to bed.

Night all, have a lovely weekend, hope all sickly children get better and you all get some gin and rest too.

xx

FrazzledFairyFay · 20/03/2009 07:46

[green] Foxy, enjoy your Gin and Rest

FrazzledFairyFay · 20/03/2009 07:47

d'oh it's obviously too early

TheNatty · 20/03/2009 10:07
