hey guys

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
LackaDAISYcal · 13/03/2009 21:02

oh natty, i had started my post ages ago and then took a phone call and didn't refresh before i posted i hope all is well. try not to worry.

norty, DS1 was a happy pukey baby....it was constant until he was about 9 months and then it stopped overnight.

LittleMissNorty · 13/03/2009 21:03

Aww Natty ...how worrying. Foxy's idea is good re starting a thread on it.

CR is so BORING

Pizza was lovely

How was the Chinese Daisy?

My DH sometimes does the illness thing, but we are currently "who gets less sleep" in this house....its ALWAYS me, but you wouldn't think so by the amount of moaning he does about it. I wish I had the ability to turn over and go back to sleep when a baby screams (he does go downstairs to warm the bottles up to be fair, but within 5 mins, he is fast asleep again - it takes me a minimum of 45 mins to feed E!)

LittleMissNorty · 13/03/2009 21:05

Natty, why can't they do the diabetes test now - I was about 23 weeks when I had my GTT. Are you under Kings? They have a pretty brilliant fetal medicine unit there.

TheNatty · 13/03/2009 21:06

im trying not to worry. its the big D tho.
its just about the only problem i would find hard to deal with (emotionally)
if they told me baby was blind, or deaf, or needed an op after birth i would deal with it better.
i think because of tom being the way he is the idea of a baby with similar or worse problems scares me ridgid..

i would start a thread, but to scared someone will say "i had it and my baby had downs"

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 13/03/2009 21:08

Hugs Natty. I'd hate having to wait 3 weeks not knowing if something is up or not.

Daisy - sorry that DH is ill(er than you). These things never happen at a good time do they?

Afraid we're not even watching Comic Relief. Happy to support the charities but really don't like the comic relief or children in need TV shows. Avoid them like the plague. But I did help at a red nose day fundraising thing at the children's centre this afternoon.

TheNatty · 13/03/2009 21:09

they are testing for a number of infections this week, i dont know why they didnt test for diabetes.
might be cos its unlikely due to it being my third baby and no previous

LackaDAISYcal · 13/03/2009 21:16

fingers crossed for you natty.

competitive fatigue syndrome....oh yeah; we have a lot of that here too. men are just pathetic sometimes.

We're watching Friday 13th . I haven't seen it before and didn't realise Kevin Bacon was in it.

Ohforfoxsake · 14/03/2009 11:59

No CFS here. Benefit of having a DP who buggers off for days on end and having done 5 days solid alone, when he comes back I win CFS hands down!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 14/03/2009 12:07

Hi Foxy! Just been to your site

We went into town this morning and jamlet walked quite a bit round the shops She really seemed to enjoy the freedom of being out of the buggy. Thankfully she held my hand nicely and didn't try to run off to much Sure that won't always be the case though But it was lovely to see her walking along having a good look round and really enjoying it.

Ohforfoxsake · 14/03/2009 12:59

Thanks so much Jammy and Norty, that's really kind

IME kids are either runners or they're not. Mine aren't (thankfully) and the boys still hold onto the buggy and we all walk together. I think if the first doesn't run off, the others don't follow IYSWIM.

I hate that constant 'heart in mouth' feeling. Like when they get a scooter. Shudder.

I would write your essay for you Butterfly, but it would probably be shit.

What's it on?

Are you all well now? Is life good?

aw butterfly i had an awful moment last week when me and kids went to the science museum, ellen went up an esculator when my back was turned so i had to follow her up. got to the top grabbed her and what do u know, no way down. i had to walk around half that floor to find a way down again.
took me about 10mins of frantic running

tom was downstairs waiting for me in the play area, (not totally unsupervised) the whole time, and i was shaking with fear he would have walked off by the time i got back down again.

i totally get the wanting to give your kids freedom, yet being a nervous wreck!

I've been here all day....talking to you about nappies natty

well done on the essays butterfly and thanks for your comments on my problems feeding bumble.

he nearly has a tooth, you can see a white speck and feel it but we can't quite get in to see if it has fully broken through. He is gnawing and drooling on everything as well. I hope we aren't going to have two days of diahorrea and temperature for every tooth though....and that's it's just coincidence.

am knackered. i had the most horrific dreams last night and woke up screaming at one point....one of those dreams where you keep waking up and everytime i woke in the dream it was to an even bigger horror than the thing i had been dreaming about if that makes sense....i blame the opium based drugs!!!

Ohforfoxsake · 14/03/2009 20:01

How awful Daisy hoping for a better night tonight.

Well done Butterfly.

For the first time Comic Relief touched me. It was the film of Davina and the babies. So sad.

Apart from a brief dip in here I've been on the go since 6.30 am, after a sleepless night last night. I'm having huge problems getting the DSs to sleep before 10/10.30 and its pissing me off no end. They arse around, then start appearing 'he's hitting me' 'I want to sleep in your bed' I'm having a bad dream (No you aren't you haven't been to sleep you little bugger) and it goes on for HOURS every farking night. DD2 was unsettled and ended up in my bed, only to be joined by DS2 at some point in the night. Woke up with a start to him looking over me waiting for me to wake up and notice him.

Narked off me. Moan over.

LackaDAISYcal · 14/03/2009 20:25

DS1 is having similar not going to bed issues foxy and gets up and plays in his room, drawing all over himself, generally titting about. He has also started either ignoring us when we speak or else dripping with sarcasm, which i suppose I should be proud of that he finally "gets" it . He also does everything he is asked at a dead slow/stop speed which makes me want to scream at him and put a rocket (or the toe of my boot ) up his bum.

and of course DD has started copying his every move; which would be cute if he wasn't being so bloody objectionable.

aaaaaarrgrrrgrghhhh small boys, who'd have them.

Ohforfoxsake · 14/03/2009 20:27

I am seriously rethinking my decision Daisy.

Good to know its not just mine.

They need to sleep. They are horrid to each other. No one enjoys it. I am horrid to them. Grrrrrrr.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 14/03/2009 20:35

Well I'm back, having made 5 greetings cards

I can only offer sympathy to those with DCs reluctant to go to bed. Sorry! And Daisy, I hope you get an easier night tonight - I agree the drugs may be to blame.

Had quite a good day, bar some hassles with freeview boxes. Hopefully tomorrow will be good too - we are taking jamlet to the theatre for the first time. A children's play called Baa Moo Yellow Dog. We've had the flyer lying round the place for a couple of weeks since I got the tickets and she loves looking at it
