hey guys

OP posts:

Ohforfoxsake · 07/03/2009 10:47

Natty, do seriously think if you want a dryer while you are paying through the nose on electrictiy meters. It will cost you a fortune. Sorry to be a spoilsport

Glad I'm not the only one who finds toast crusts in odd places, I also find satsuma ssegments under sofa cushions and something an odd blue colour with some mould spores down the back of the coffee table. We suspect it was once a banana, but only forensic tests will tell us what it actually was once

Bumperslucious · 07/03/2009 10:58

Eww foxy that's gross! I must admit that I am pretty lax about letting DD wonder around with food and often find crusts in random places. It's funny how blase about these things you become when you have a toddler. And my cars are digusting!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 07/03/2009 11:02

I admit I have wondered about my laptop as well. I do tend to switch it on in the morning and off at night, but I do close the lid down when not actually using it. I know that's not as good as turning it off so maybe I should make more effort. (Also if it was properly off I might not "just check in" on MN so much ?) But at least I KNOW it's not as good as being fully off - DH leaves his on but with lid closed ALL THE TIME. And he has his PC upstairs on most of the day, even when he's at work, even when he was in Seattle the other week . And he checks up on it from afar and gets cross if it's gone off!

keepingitRia · 07/03/2009 11:19

well, I think that's all the toast sorted... just all the random crap that had got hidden in toyboxes to put where it should be.

Bumperslucious · 07/03/2009 11:50

AFAIK it's better for laptops to be kept on standby for most of the time. I rarely turn mine off.

LackaDAISYcal · 07/03/2009 12:17

that has made me feel better then bumper

just been to pick up my breast pump. I was a bit about the size of the blardy thing, but it is really gentle. Takes an age to get anything, but I can at least sit and read a book whilst it's doing it's thing! You should have seen the size of the woman's house though . For those of you that know Leeds, it just opposite the car park of Rounday Park, just down from Tropical World......seriously big houses. You could fit our not insubstantial kitchen into the hallway!!

DD is being so cute. She is telling me to get bumble his medicine, but instead of medicine is saying medin--ssss, with a quite a big pause between the medin and the ssss. It's really sweet

keepingitRia · 07/03/2009 13:25

you're rumbled daisy - she's saying medised really isn't she

baggins is wearing a chefs hat

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 07/03/2009 13:59

LOL at medised.

Those are big house round there aren't they Daisy. My cousin lives in a big house not too far from Roundhay Park. Good grief, I have just realised how long it is since I visited - last time I was there he had turned the dining room into a play room for his young girls. But one is now at uni and one doing her A'levels .

My foot really hurts. I can limp about with my trainers on, but without it's agony to walk on I (vaguely) remember having this after DD was born and it lasted weeks - got put down to post-natal stuff I think (can hardly remember now, just recall going for xrays). Hope it doesn't last weeks again this time.

keepingitRia · 07/03/2009 14:51

where does it hurt jammy? I have weak insteps that strain easily, and that hurts. Have also had that thing in my heel and that bloody hurts.

baggins is having a paddy cos I brought him in from the garden (I have been and tidied the shed after their efforts)

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 07/03/2009 14:59

It's the metatarslas down the outer side of teh foot, rather than the instep. I sat on the kitchen worktop with my foot under me this morning - I wonder if I somehoe managed to twist it?

DH has cut the grass and I have washed all our seed trays ready for planting tomato and chilli seeds later/tomorrow. We were meant to be tidying the shed, but can't see that happening today now. Jamlet hated the lawnmower, demanded to be taken inside when DH started doing the grass

butterfly, my car is the same; tis a moving waste paper bin. I'd left the door open one evening and my neighbour came over to tell me. She was concerned that something had been stolen from it and that it had been ransacked, and I just stood there embarrased as I couldn't honestly say whether anything was missing or not. Good anti-theft device though....no-one is going to break into a car that messy

ouch for your foot jammy. I hope it feels better soon.

I'm going to do it butterfly, but still not sure whether to go with NCT or ABM. There is lots of coverage here with the NCT, but less so with the ABM, infact the closest ABM counsellor is in York. I like the idea of filling a gap in the market iyswim. On the other hand, I like that the NCT course gets you a bona fide qualification at the end of it. It's the only one that does.

LackaDAISYcal · 07/03/2009 16:46

Ria, I meant to ask how the "wags" night out went the other night. I hope you had a good time

Evening all.

So today I learned that taking a toddler in a pushchair to a jumble sale is not advisable! Bless DD, she was mostly really good considering she was stuck in her pushchair for an hour. I really to grab some bargains but it was a mad house. I did manage to get a pink Ted Baker jumper for 30p and a couple of next tops for dd for 20p each. Exhausting day though as I drove then walked part of the way, trundled around 2 jumble sales, walked back, went to the library to see DH then when he finished work we all went shopping. Naughty sausage sarnies for tea tonight. Weight loss is not going well. This week DH and I have polished off 2 B&J tubs . But you know when you are just having one of those weeks...?

Daisy I meant say in response to your question aaages ago; DD not asthmatic, doc just prescribed an inhaler as she has a really bad cough, has had it over a week now. He said it wasn't an infection, just a viral thing. I was a bit miffed the nursery forgot to give it to her, good job it wasn't more serious. Still, it was her first day so I'll let them off.

I'm letting DH watch the footie on the condition that he watches DD and I barricade myself in the bedroom (actually, that was his offer).

Hope the course is going ok Butterfly.

Oooh, any word from JBM recently?

Where is everone tonight? Not off having a life I hope

great news on the cash Natty

Bumper, what were you thinking?

Sputnik · 07/03/2009 20:58

I'm here. We spent the morning sledging

FrazzledFairyFay · 07/03/2009 21:06

Sputnik, that sounds fablous. We spent it at a birthday party, in a soft play area in Feltham

keepingitRia · 07/03/2009 21:18

I am here, briefly just now but back properly later (when you're all in bed). I need to have another crack at my essay

FrazzledFairyFay · 07/03/2009 21:31

hello Ria, good luck with your essay. I think I'm going to have an early night.

keepingitRia · 07/03/2009 21:40

OK, there are words on the paper, but they don't necessarily make sense.

g'night fairy. Did you watch the Comic Relief dancing programme?

LackaDAISYcal · 07/03/2009 21:47

spent the day chasing around after things and people. went to tesco to get a pressie for DS's friend. Party at the bowling alley tomorrow...oh joy.

Got all the kids in bed by 7pm this evening and not a peep out of bumble so far

managed to store up another seven ozs for the freezer with the big pump. Looks like the baby won't starve after all

sledging sounds good sputnik

essays sound tough butterfly and ria.

DHs friend is here so I better get off as I'm sitting between them and probably being seen as a bit rude
