Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Sputnik · 06/03/2009 20:53

Yay, fantastic Natty

Ohforfoxsake · 06/03/2009 20:56

Hey Sputnik! How are things?

Sputnik · 06/03/2009 21:04

Not bad, my entire family is asleep
Peace!

LackaDAISYcal · 06/03/2009 21:05

blardy hell natty

but, oh, the irony of you sneakily getting a takeaway and paying by cheque

.....now squirrel some away as an emergency fund!!!

LackaDAISYcal · 06/03/2009 21:06

mine too sputnik

I want wine but am too scared of the consequences.

hell, maybe I'll have an olive oil and grapefruit juice

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 06/03/2009 21:10

Jamlet is crying This is the 2rd night her sleep has been broken - only one time so bad I had to go up to her, but she cries/whinges on and off. Poor love, I think it might be her teeth

FAB news Natty! (But yes, I second Daisy - do put some away)

Sputnik · 06/03/2009 21:23

Poor Jamlet. Mine had a hell of a time with his top canines coming through, he didn't eat an actual meal for a month, and was unsettled at night too.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 06/03/2009 21:27

Ouch Sputnik, that sounds like hell for both of you!

TheNatty · 06/03/2009 21:29

poor jamlet

DH is gonna kill me i have just ordered new beds for kids, a hoover (cheapie only 50quid) and a tumble dryer..

they all turn up next week he is gonna have a fit.

oh well its all things we desperatly needed.

and i have put alot of money on the meters, paid all my bills and paid my rent

so sod saving the rest i have spent half on sensible things.

i bought the kids new shoes too. so nice to be able to.

how is everyone! i feel so light its unbelieveable how much stress i was carrying! i didnt think i was even that upset by it all till i suddenly didnt have to worry!

LackaDAISYcal · 06/03/2009 21:32

but teething doesn't exist

poor jamlet and sputniklet. DD hasn't been too bad fortunately, at least after the first few. She gets horrible nappy rash though. DS1 was horrendous; red faced dribbly, earachey, diahorrea and nappy rash....all at the same time.

reet, am off to my bed after some delicious herbal tea

TheNatty · 06/03/2009 21:43

oh course teething doesnt exsist! silly me
MN is a crazy fucking place sometimes

keepingitRia · 06/03/2009 21:59

has everyone gone???

does anyone know about using brackets in adding up?

TheNatty · 06/03/2009 22:00

what do you need to know ?

keepingitRia · 06/03/2009 22:05

tis OK, am not using brackets anymore - it fills up more of the page the way I've done it

Have to post final assessment next week. Am struggling with the essay bit, so am typing up the answers I know

TheNatty · 06/03/2009 22:07

ok glad you sorted it ria

good luck with final assessment

im around till midnight tonight if any one else is about, waiting for DH to get home

LackaDAISYcal · 06/03/2009 22:13

brackets used in multiplication etc to indicate the bit in brackets has to be done first.

ie 2x(3+6) = 18

whereas 2x3+6 = 12

i think!

keepingitRia · 06/03/2009 22:39

argh, bugger. Might have to ask DH/DS1, but I think it works OK without getting techinical. It just says "show your working out", not "your working out must be perfect"! Maybe I could give it a key and go all algebrae-ic?

can't do any more, too tired, can't find the right words inside my tiny little mind.

DH is out until tomorrow (which given his tetchyness over the last few days is probably a good thing). He has a big wedding tomorrow at the hotel, starting with a big buffet breakfast, so he has a room tonight (lucky sod). I am dreading tomorrow as no car at my disposal (what with DF needing his back)

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 07/03/2009 07:00

Sorry, it's v dull but can anyone answer me here?

keepingitRia · 07/03/2009 07:53

sorry jammy, no idea.

but I have worked out a "formula" for my equation (sp?) so my working out doesn't look like the random jottings of a mad person. Wasn't exactly a restful night of sleep though, and the DCs have been up and bickering for ages

Bumperslucious · 07/03/2009 08:43

Wow natty that's brilliant news! But I would put at least a tiny bit of it away, just for an emergency, epecially with the new baby coming. If he has been under paid that should mean that you get more than you expect next time.

Sorry, can't help off hand jammy but have you though about getting one of those energy meters that tells you how much leccy you are using? Like this?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 07/03/2009 09:19

I have thought about that yes, Bumper. WOuld be keen to show DH how much (I suspect) him having his PC on at all hours costs us!

I've just done some grim housekeeping - avert your eyes if you have nervous disposition. We bought some gel shapes (this sort of thing) for the kitchen window and they were lovely as they catch the sun and cast lovely coloured patterns onto the wall. But last summer they melted in the sun and oozed down the window, looking very unattractive. And then flies stuck to them. And slattern that I am (and mother and part time worker and full time house keeper etc) I hadn't got round to cleaning up the sticky mess until now. (Also, partly because I am very scared of heights and the thought of climbing onto the kitchen worktop scared me.) And last night a big moth got stuck to one of the melted shapes so that was pretty gross to clear up. But it's all gone now

LackaDAISYcal · 07/03/2009 09:38

not to mention your not unsubstantial MN habit jammy

actually do you all switch on and off again after posting, or leave the pooter up and running? I tend to switch mine on in the morning and that's it on all day, even if I go out to the shops or to school etc. It rarely gets switched off until bedtime

keepingitRia · 07/03/2009 09:39

I am cleaning the living room (it's amazing where toast crusts get to) and have had a lesson on the beginning of WWI. and I didn't know any of it I always thought I was reasonably intelligent, and I did history GCSE with a good mark, but you know you're getting old when you get taught something by an 11yo

I have to agree with everyone else natty, it's worth saving a bit. Could you even open a higher interest savings account with some of it and squirrel away a little bit as often as you can? Even rainy day funds don't last forever. Will you get higher regular payments now, or is it something DH only gets once a year?

I can't mend my hauck I think we broke it trying to cram t inot Dsis car last weekend.

I have offered to pay the boys to tidy the shed ... and they're still sat watching Cbeebies (even DS1!)

keepingitRia · 07/03/2009 09:43

I have started turning our PC off between "bouts" of Mnetting highly important research, more so since doing my course/the boys learning it at school/DS2 watching the Green Balloon Club! DS2 follows us round turning lights off, more so since baggins being born, trying to keep the bills down while DH not working.

LackaDAISYcal · 07/03/2009 09:43

actually verbalising that has made me aware that i need to switch off more so that i can actually achieve things

My finger is poised......have a good day all
