hey guys

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
FrazzledFairyFay · 05/03/2009 21:07

I went on an overland truck trip similar to this trip through Egypt, Syria, Jordan and Lebanon, which included a night in Beirut. It feels like many moons ago now

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 05/03/2009 21:41

Am very of these breaks, especially spa breaks.

DH says he might be having to go to Seattle more often. He then said that if that is the case then the level of presents would have to go down. Fair enough if he had been bringing me home luxury items at some expense, but he admits the present he brought back from his week away last week cost between £5 and £10. I am VERY happy with a £5 present (if it's nice) but I was at being told that I shouldn't expect as much in future. Or AIBU?

OK, I ache - I tried one of the Davina "Super Body" workouts earlier, then cooked tea, then did my paid work. I need a nice hot bath! (Oh and when I popped to the loo while cooking dinner and asked DH to drain the pasta if the kitchen timer went before I got back he was grumpy about it )

FrazzledFairyFay · 05/03/2009 21:49

YANBU Jammy, if he's going to have to go away, leaving you to look after Jamlet on your own, as well as going to work, etc then the least you can expect is a decent present each time.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 05/03/2009 23:17

Thanks Fairy

keepingitRia · 05/03/2009 23:30

If it makes you feel better fairy, I wouldn't fly anywhere at all. Tonight was enough of an ordeal! There was only me under 35, and 2 others under 50. And I had to get ready while DS2 yelled about not wanting me to go

DH and I had several rows. And now he's watching a seriously unpleasant film.

I am off to bed. Being nice and polite is bloody tiring.

TheNatty · 06/03/2009 10:55

good morning everyone

ive got to do the market, hospital appointment and tescos today.

so im very busy doing very boring things

speak to you all again this afternoon when i get in. pray for a good behaviour day from my children they are being naughty this morning.

see u xx

TheNatty · 06/03/2009 11:14

oh just got my post, thank you daisy!
im not at all offended and will be buying a ton of fruit and veg this week as can afford to

LackaDAISYcal · 06/03/2009 13:56

natty.

having a day of it here. bumble has been screaming since 5 this morning so we've been to the docs and he has an ear infection. he;s been oulling at his ear for a day or so, but i thought it was just teeth . I've had about two hours respite from the screaming and now DD has started as she does NOT want to go down for her nap.

been running around like a mad thing as well picking up prescriptions and Dd from a friends house (she took her to stay and play this morning which was such a huge help for me as she has got cabin fever after a week indoors) and I've been ringing round trying to sort out hire of an electric pump so I can get enough milk for DS when I have my op....next Thursday .

gotta sort out DD and bumble has started again

i'll need that break at ragdale hall sooner than august at this rate!!

I'm bloody well doing it though, even if I have to pay DH in kind every night for a fortnight for it

LackaDAISYcal · 06/03/2009 13:57

Oh and natty, we usually buy the value fruit and veg in sainsbury's; its just as good as the other stuff, just different sizes etc.

Ohforfoxsake · 06/03/2009 14:28

LOL Natty at 'busy doing boring things'. That's my life, that is

Good news re next thursday though Daisy. Even if you are going to feel like a dairy Daisy. Am going to get dates for ragdale tonight. Shall I FB you?

Agree with Fairy Jammy. What's a wee present when you are doing it all alone, and he is building up his business? Behind every successful man and all that ... they can only do what they do because we do what we do. and as for getting grumpy at draining the pasta .... They go away and are their 'own men' for a few days, come back and begrudge being 'told' (as they see it, asked as we see it) to do a menial task.

Or at least that's what it is here

Ohforfoxsake · 06/03/2009 14:36

Fairy just spoke to Ragdale, apparently they aren't offering a single supplement with that offer

I'm not 100% convinced that she was right though, as have stayed there on a very similar offer and paid a single supplement. Let me know what they say when you speak to them. Its by far a better deal than their cheapest deal on a single room.

keepingitRia · 06/03/2009 14:46

I'm with foxy on that. Arses.

FrazzledFairyFay · 06/03/2009 14:55

Foxy, I just had email from Ragdale and they are full next week apart from a suite which is v expensive and needs two occupants. I think I'll go back to my London plan.

I would def like to go in August though if you and Daisy are still up for it (and assuming of course that you don't mind us gate crashing your few days of peace!) - come on ladies, can we persuade anyone else to make up a four with us .......

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 06/03/2009 14:58

I might be tempted, but not sure if I can get the "time off"

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 06/03/2009 15:00

am v of spa breaks - I also may not have the funds as I just paid almost £600 car repair bill yesterday

Ohforfoxsake · 06/03/2009 16:08

Check out Barcelo hotels Fairy. I might have a decent code for a good deal.

keepingitRia · 06/03/2009 16:14

I don't know if I would like a spa break - reminds me of Victoria Wood...

LackaDAISYcal · 06/03/2009 16:20

Please do foxy

I haven't asked told DH yet though! If he objects on the grounds of price, I shall say it's my income from nappies and prams that's paying for it. He can't complain then!!

FrazzledFairyFay · 06/03/2009 16:28

Ria, think sitting around all day in a dressing gown, drinking tea/champagne, eating cake, reading magazines and chatting - what's not to like

FrazzledFairyFay · 06/03/2009 16:29

Daisy, PMSL at your comment about giving in to Dh's 'demands', you'd better hope he doesn't secretly read this thread - it's a long time until August

LittleMissNorty · 06/03/2009 16:33

Excuse me a minute

AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH

FUCKING CHILD!

SHE IS DOING MY HEAD IN

bloody hell, a newborn baby and 4 hours sleep is much easier to deal with than a stroppy, fucking headstrong 21 month old whose got a fucking temper.

I'm having to stay in another room from her atm....

Sorry

God a spa break sounds fab......

FrazzledFairyFay · 06/03/2009 16:38
keepingitRia · 06/03/2009 17:23

right now I could do sitting round drinking chilled alcohol.

we should put baggins and your DD in the same room norty.

still makes me think of Victoria Wood though

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 06/03/2009 17:35

I was ready for that large G&T earlier too - after 26 minutes of trying to get a nappy on jamlet!

Thankfully a friend and her DSs came to visit, which soothed everybody somewhat

Mentioned a spa break to DH and he offered me a sit down in the garden followed by a bubble bath

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 06/03/2009 17:48

Ooooh, he has just come home and said we can look into arranging something so I can go to a spa
