hey guys

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

oh dear bumper.....AIBU is just an excuse for people to be rude and offensive. What possessed you?

LackaDAISYcal · 05/03/2009 19:46

go fairy.....although I can understand your nervousness, you'll have a great time. Just remember to never leave your drink unattended, accept drinks from strange blokes and steer clear of dodgy spanish waiters

Bumperslucious · 05/03/2009 19:47

Erm fairy, yes you are being very silly (but if you don't want to go I will go for you!). FFS woman you have been offered a paid child-free holiday in the sun! Run, run like the wind! . What a nice DH you have.

LittleMissNorty · 05/03/2009 19:47

sounds fab Fairy....think I married the wrong man.....

Good news Daisy....hope its soon x

FrazzledFairyFay · 05/03/2009 19:50

I am being silly aren't I. I def need to pull myself together over this. FFS I went to Beirut on my own in my 20s and now I'm unsure about going to Tenerife

Ohforfoxsake · 05/03/2009 20:07

If this is your first venture on your own, why don't you go somewhere in the UK? In this months Zest magazine there's 35% off Ragdale Hall in Leicestershire. Its lovely there and you sit around in fluffy dressing gowns. I'm going to book it and go at the end of August.

Maybe UK this time, Tenerife the next? I'd be nervous going on my own to be honest, and I've travelled alone too. Its just different these days ....

FrazzledFairyFay · 05/03/2009 20:09

thanks Foxy, I'll have a look at that. I'm glad it'd not just me who'd feel funny about it. Dh doesn't understand it at all.

LackaDAISYcal · 05/03/2009 20:17

bumper I have stuck my oar in for you.

I hate it on AIBU threads when the OP has admitted that perhaps they have been unreasonable a bit but people come on who have only read the OP and lay in with their opinion without reading that things have moved on.

and that pfb thing really gets my goat as well!

fairy, here I am urging you to go, when I've never had the balls to go anywhere on my own!

Ragdale hall looks good foxy. I looked at a break there before, so I might come and join you in August

FrazzledFairyFay · 05/03/2009 20:19

I'll come in august as well, Foxy

Ohforfoxsake · 05/03/2009 20:20

Getting on a plane seems just too far, even with DP sometimes. I've travelled SE Asia and Australia alone, but now I only want to be a few hours away from home. Don't feel as though you should be up for it, if you simply don't want to, that's good enough.

Ragdale is just lovely and very very relaxing. The food is great, and you can choose if you want healthy or indulgent. Its not a full-on health farm, they serve wine with meals Take chocolate though. And they bring your brekkie to your room every day. Its £285 (+single supplement if going alone] for 3 days, 2 nights, a couple of 40 min treatments and all your meals. You really don't have to spend anything else.

I'm just waiting for DP to give me the dates he's arounds so I can book up.

Ohforfoxsake · 05/03/2009 20:22

Lovely! Before term starts I was thinking (FF, is DD starting school?) DP is away for most of August I think.

FrazzledFairyFay · 05/03/2009 20:24

Thanks Foxy, I have emailed them to ask about availability for next week, as their reservations dept is closed now. Do I need to quote something to get the special offer, or is it a coupon?

FrazzledFairyFay · 05/03/2009 20:24

No, my DD's birthday is september so she won't be starting until next year

Ohforfoxsake · 05/03/2009 20:26

I'll have a look, but I think you just mention the magazine

LackaDAISYcal · 05/03/2009 20:27

Our summer holiday is booked from 1st to 15th August, so anytime after that suits me just fine

FrazzledFairyFay · 05/03/2009 20:27

thank you . If need be I can always get a copy tomorrow

LackaDAISYcal · 05/03/2009 20:29

DH says I'm getting a night at a health spa soon when I have my op, what more do I need?

TheNatty · 05/03/2009 20:34

good for you daisy! remind me to get you in as back up in the future

Ohforfoxsake · 05/03/2009 20:35

Ahh, what these menfolk don't understand is one night away just doesn't cut it. You still have to do kids one morning - go and have a nice time - then come back the next day and do tea/bath/bed/tidying up after two days. Its shit. Tell him.

No, two days minimum. I'm getting back from my wedding trip after 8pm, as one of my friends said "Oooh, he'll have time to tidy the house too". Yeah, right

TheNatty · 05/03/2009 20:39

gosh very of all these breaks, ive never spent a night away from my DC (other then my wedding night and we both conked out at 8pm)
sounds nice, a WHOLE nights sleep, gosh i have no idea what that feels like anymore

FrazzledFairyFay · 05/03/2009 20:40

I agree, at least two nights is required - particulalry as you need a proper lie-in without being kicked out of your hotel room

TheNatty · 05/03/2009 20:46

that bloody cebeebies advert...

just made DH jump out of his skin tho

LackaDAISYcal · 05/03/2009 20:49

MN said they would get rid of it on my whinging thread, but it's still there

TheNatty · 05/03/2009 20:52

just take off the scroll over and make it a click instead? its really bugging me

Ohforfoxsake · 05/03/2009 20:55

FF what were you doing in Beirut then?
